BROMPTON COURT APARTMENTS ARE HORRIBLE!!!!

In the 3 months that I lived at Brompton court the refrigerator&#44; oven&#44; and washing machine broke.
The free pool wifi never worked&#44; although I was told by the management that I wouldn&#39;t have to purchase internet service prior to moving in b/c I was paying more for the apartment.  In addition&#44; the management could never say when the wifi would be fixed.  That&#39;s b/c it never was.
The building is so old that rust comes out of all of the faucets and the has a bad odor and taste.
I had to buy bottle water the entire time I lived there.
The management is absolutely terrible and has no clue about customer service.
When I did get to move out I was fined $75 to have the old carpet cleaned.  Keep in mind I was there 3 months and thoroughly cleaned the carpets prior to my move.  In addition&#44; there was no inspection where you could discuss or dispute the charges.  They come several weeks later in the mail.  
Don&#39;t bother trying to reason with the management&#44; they are complete jerks!...Thanks Jason.

STAY AWAY. STAY FAR&#44; FAR AWAY. This is legal robbery. Please&#44; for the love of all things holy&#44; stay away from this place. I will illustrate my difficulties below.

1. Due to my work&#44; i need short lease terms. I am used to paying a little extra every month. When i got my first quote&#44; the short lease fee was an extra $75 per month (3 month contract). When i arrived&#44; 3 days before i started my job&#44; I was told the fee was an extra $75 per month&#44; raising the short term lease fee to $150 extra per month. I could not find another place to live&#44; although under a bridge would have been a better option.

2. The facilities are NOT worth that amount of rent. The windows are super drafty&#44; the AC system sucks&#44; brown water spewed forth from every faucet when i turned them on. 

3. My work contract was cut short. I was due to leave Houston 1 month early. I informed the staff when this happened. Even though i would not be living there in May&#44; i went ahead and paid the $1060 rent. My original contract was from early march to the first couple days (yes&#44; a couple days&#44; not an entire week) of june. I was under the impression that June rent would be prorated. 

As i was handing in my keys i was told that they do not prorate move out rent. What in the hell? I asked the lady to clarify that i would be paying for not one&#44; but two months of rent when i wouldn&#39;t even be in the city. Her answer was a confident &#34;yes&#34;. Let me get this straight. I will be paying Brompton Court Apartments a total of 
$2&#44;120 to NOT live there at all? Her answer again&#44; &#34;yes&#34;. 

To reiterate&#44; stay away from this place if you value sanity. and money. This place will suck both out of you before you even know it. I cannot believe this is legal. Shame on Brompton Court Apartments. I&#39;m disgusted and not going to write any more. 

Edit:actually I am going to update this post.  I have uploaded several pictures proving that the apartment was spotless. I have many more&#44; but I can only upload 6. I cleaned&#44; and expect my deposits back.

Awful apartment complex. Very dangerous. I worry about my tires getting stolen everyday. The rent is too high and they always have problems with brown water. Roaches and bugs everywhere. Warning! Go some place else!

I&#39;m a semi-new resident and have enjoyed my time here greatly. My apartment is awesome and it instantly felt like home. Parking is never an issue. My only concern is the tree sap that gets my car SO dirty&#44; but there are plenty of garages to park in covered spots. 

I&#39;ve had a great experience with all of the office staff. They reply promptly to my e-mails&#44; which I appreciate greatly. I also really like their use of the Internet&#44; newsletters&#44; and social media. The contests that they have started to run for us residents are great! 

The location of these apartments is great. Very central&#44; close to the medical center&#44; and right off the bayou. They are very pet friendly - even have a little dog park located inside the complex.

I don&#39;t understand why the reviews are so bad on apartmentratings.com - I&#39;ve yet to experience any of the things they mention there. The only bad thing that has happened so far to me was on my move-in day. I had another resident walking his dog who had come up to me telling me what a horrible mistake I had made to move in to BC and how all these dangerous/illegal things happen here. Unfortunately&#44; I don&#39;t think the guy was stable... Talk about a welcome committee when you&#39;re moving in to your new home and excited about it. I clearly was moving in&#44; boxes in my arms&#44; and this dude just straight up stops me to tell me this crap. Needless to say&#44; he killed my move in excitement buzz for the day.  

Anyways - I would absolutely recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a centrally located place to live with a great little community. I have friends who live and have lived here and have nothing bad to say about their experiences either!

And as well that BBB (Houston Better Business Bureau) Have put you the WORST apartments Place to lived in&#44; there been over dozen and dozen Complaints to BBB about Brompton Court apartments. And they say that Brompton Court is NO LONGER part of BBB  They have list Brompton Court Worst Management and bad place to lived. 

Again Brompton Court you are OBNOXIOUS young disrespectful punks

Moved out. Lease went up 30&#37; to renew for 12 months(it went up about 5&#37; every term on previous renewals)!!!! 30 percent with NO improvements made except to the leasing office; just dead plants&#44; burned-out lights&#44; broken fixtures&#44; water leaks&#44; etc over the last year!! Absolutely insane. They are starting a &#34;valet&#34; trash pick-up which means people leave their nasty trash in the halls&#44; and they charge you $25 a month to pick it up whether you like it or not.  Water and electric goes out ALL the time--winter&#44; summer&#44; fall&#44; spring (I&#39;m talking one or the other several times a month that I know of).  The 4  hours events (lasting up to 12 hours) they email about now after lots of complaints (some are &#34;scheduled&#34; and some are not). The thing is water will also go out for a hour or so all the time during the day&#44; you may be there to notice and may not; they hope not and don&#39;t tell you.

Places used to be spotless for new move-ins&#44; but I don&#39;t ever see them changing out carpets or anything anymore; they charge whoever moved out an extra fee if they have to clean the stove and wipe off the blinds. Forget about getting a deposit back.  They promise &#34;improvements&#34; to everyone who moves in&#44; from new stairwells to grills to security cameras&#44; but I&#39;ve yet to see one except they spiffed up the office.  This is their reasoning for rent increases&#44; but I can&#39;t even get a work order answered for the life of me (I call&#44; email&#44; go to the office where they glare and tell me &#34;you know you can just email). The storm made the metal sheets they use for covered parking buckle in on car roofs!.  It is $15 a month to reserve a spot btw&#44; but my number has a reserved sticker on it (not done by me) and no one ever parks there---I think the office did it to make a shortage. Some guy knows this and likes to park in the middle of two reserved spaces (I&#39;ve seen a tow truck once)!

Daylight break-ins are rampant and they don&#39;t care.  They tell you how few break-ins are reported but I know from experience it&#39;s because they refuse to tell anyone what happened when a door is kicked in and whatnot.  You need to report it to police yourself (don&#39;t let them &#34;help&#34;) or they will change &#34;robbed at gunpoint&#34; to &#34;approached by two people asking for money&#34;. Yeah yeah this is Houston crime happens but I mean maintenance here literally can&#39;t change a light bulb; seriously half the lights are out.

From Bad to Worse

Brompton Court is a terrible place to live&#44; and I do not recommend it to anyone.

-  The water and electricity go out randomly once every 2 or 3 weeks.  Management&#39;s reply to these complaints is &#34;It&#39;s the city&#39;s fault&#44; not ours&#34;.  They do not understand that the tenants don&#39;t care where the fault lies.  We just want power and water.
-  The fixtures are old and shabby.  Our kitchen drawers break constantly.
-  The exercise room is pathetic.
-  The pools are pathetic.
-  They do not empty their dumpsters frequently enough.  I uploaded a picture I took while walking to my car this morning so you can see that I&#39;m not exaggerating.  The 3 dumpsters have been full all weekend and there are at least 2 more dumpster loads of trash piled around the full dumpsters.  I have complained to management about this issue on several occassions&#44; but they have not added more dumpsters or increased the frequency of when the dumpsters are emptied.  It is terrible property management and is very inviting to pests and rodents.
-  On top of all this&#44; Brompton Court asked to raise our rent by nearly 10&#37;.

Terrible Place To Live

Brompton is trying to charge me with $950 as moving out bill. I left the apartment was completely clean. I left on the yard the stuff that was there when I moved in. Never thought the bedroom mirror was not theirs... Never thought the kitchen hangers and decor was not theirs... Now I am getting billed for all of those items&#39; removal&#44; plus the cleaning ($200) of the carpet which was perfect except for the presence of an a spot ($85) that was there before I moved. Yes&#44; you heard&#44; billed for the spot and for the cleaning it separately!!! I complained to the Better Business Bureau and I suggest you do the same if you had problems with MGMT. I will take my case to court through my lawyer&#44; will never ever pay them that money if I can avoid it. I am really disgusted with the place and its management. THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS THAN BROMPTON.
Also&#44; they destroyed my yard for electricity repairs and never repair the damage. I attached pictures of how the thing was left. Obviously&#44; they killed all my plants.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE AT MGMT

This complex has a lot of very old units&#44; and they have problems frequently. With that in mind consider that there is a new management staff that could care less about it&#39;s residents. The previous management cared about the residents&#44; and moved quickly to resolve reasonable problems like mentioned above. The new management DOUBLED THE COST OF THE BUS TICKETS FOR THE CANCER PATIENTS!! You don&#39;t get much lower than that. 

Don&#39;t move here. Seriously.  

I have been at Brompton Court for far too long. When I originally moved here&#44; I loved the place. However&#44; that was with the previous management under Archstone. Since its been under the new management by Rockwell&#44; this place has really gone downhill. My rent used to go up $10-20 when I renewed my lease every year. I used to have prompt service when there was a problem&#44; and the grounds and facilities were previously kept up well. Now&#44; the service here is a nightmare. Most of the people who actually work here are nice&#44; but when you have a problem&#44; it is often ignored&#44; and rarely addressed. My air conditioner has gone out at least twice a year for the past 2-3 years during the summer&#44; and the last time it went out I was stuck in a sweltering apartment with >100 degree weather outside for 3 days. My air conditioner has been leaking down into my bathtub and shower for almost a year now. I have called numerous times to request that this be addressed&#44; and each time I get a courteous voice assuring me the problem will be addressed&#44; yet no one has come to fix it yet. See the pictures I&#39;ve posted of my bathroom and bathtub ...who would want to bathe themselves in this rusty piece of @#*T! 
Beware of the huge flying roaches if you come here. I often will arm myself with raid if I have to go out of my apartment at night because they ARE EVERYWHERE and they fly right towards you! I have seen a 6ft 200lb. grown man run screaming like a little girl because of these nasty things!
My friend lives downstairs below me on the first floor&#44; and everytime it rains it floods her entryway and living room&#44; and her carpet is permanently stained and molded. This has been going on for >1 year now and despite many promises&#44; they have yet to correct the problem and continue to go up on the rent.

If this place is so bad&#44; you might ask why I am still here? I came to this place when I started medical school and stayed here through my 4 years of residency in OBGYN&#44; and until now I have been way too busy to even consider moving. Now that I have a life again&#44; I&#39;m outta here as soon as my lease is up.

Please&#44; please think twice before moving here&#44; unless you love roaches&#44; mold&#44; rust&#44; poor service&#44; and over-priced old apartments. Hope this helps.

We have been living in this complex for 2 years. This is the cheapest place around the Medical Center where I work (2 miles). They even have a shuttle service that can take you to the Medical Center. I had a promotional offer of $675/month (one bedroom apt) 2&#37; medical center employee discount for the first year. Now I am paying $750/month. In the last 2 years my water supply was shut down only 5-6 times for a few hours because the pipes broke but this has happened even to many of my friends who live in expensive complexes. Except for after hurricane IKE when we were without electricity for 6 days&#44; the electricity was shut down briefly 3-4 times in the last 2 years but it was not the complex&#39;s fault. I have lived in many apartments and all of them had noise issues. I can occasionally hear my upstairs neighbor walking but there are no other noise issues. My car got broken in to once but it was my fault as I left my GPS inside. This is a problem all over Houston; just remember not to leave anything valuable inside your car! 
My apartment is on the 2nd floor. Although our appliances are not new but we never had any problems with them.

OK Complex

After THREE Years We be moving out at the end of March 2017. This Place is Bad and It Flood 3 times Since  we moved here. And We Can&apos;t Take it NO MORE. if they can remodel There office and JACK UP THE RENT there NO POINT Living here. This Place is Falling apart. Trash in Hallways The Floors in the halls are awful. They rise our RENT up  TWO times they do not give any kind of specials.. It Really bad there Rats and the outside Wood is rotten there Even Cracks in the woods. There a lot of Mold inside your Apartments home.

Again It FLOODS at Brompton Court Apartments I even took a Photo of it to show you the Truth... And the Picutrtes of the FLOOD at BROMTON COURT is on this review. They will LIE to you and tell you  it never FLOOD at Bromton Court But take a look at the photos and you will see  to your self it FLOODS here..... THIS IS NOT A JOKE it do FLOOD.....

Do not live here this Place is A Dump the Office Staff will LIE to you and let me tell you it FLOODS here at Bromton Court Apt. and there Photos I took of it. And I just found out the Manger Left she NO Longer work here. And Our Lease is up at the end Of August 2017 they had raised our Rent to $60.00 and they do not  give any Deals And will not NEGOTIATE AT ALL.. And this place is Falling apart And this Place was built in 1972 and the foundation is so bad.. Please DO NOT LIVED  AT BROMPTON COURT APARTMENTS YOU WILL BE SORRY. And again THIS PLACE FLOODS.... Take look at the photos and you will see for your self...

Do not live here BAD NEWS it had Flood 4 times during my time at Bromton Court Apartments  Take a look at the pictures DO NOT Moved in this Place it Flood Big time up 4 or 5 feet of water and all Down Stairs get it more.... And this is for Real it not fake......

Do not lived here This Place Flood BIG time and had Flood about 5 times so far. This Place was Build in 1972 and it very old place and it need to be torn down.... check out the Pictures and it show you the proof and the truth.... And your Rent go up when you sign a new Lease.... and make sure Check for Mold when you moved in..... This is NOT FAKE REVIEW..It Flood and it got MOLD from the last Flood.....

I highly recommend against living here. There is mold and bugs within the building in the vents and walls, unless you bother the office multiple times they will not conduct repairs and even then repairs may not be made correctly. Dumpsters always over flowing, packages stolen, vehicles broken into, limited free parking. When scheduling an outside vendor to conduct repairs they may not show up. They ignore your emails. Communal spaces are filthy. The only good thing about living here is the location and some of the other tenants.
