I don't know why this complex receives so much crap from reviewers, honestly, it's like I don't live in the same place. I've been here for 5 months now, so I don't know what the management was like in 2009 - 2010 but I haven't had any problems now, I however rarely see them unless I'm getting a package or something. Yes I have had the water turned off; however, I either received notice the day before or I could clearly see people working on the pipes. I normally get up early and shower so I have never been badly effected by the water thing. It's an old complex, and with the recent heat I don't know why people think nothing ever happens to the water pipes... You can't complain that things need to be updated and fixed then complain more when they actually do get fixed... I don't know what sort of witchcraft some people believe allows water to come from your faucet, but last I checked, it comes from the water pipes that need to be fixed sometimes. I haven't had power go out unless it was storming, which... being in a drought it was once and it came back on about an hour later. Most of Houston loses power in storms though so I can't say that is a shocker either (ha! get it? storm, shocker?). There were a lot of bugs when I first arrived, from what I understand there is a bug service through the complex you can sign up for... I don't like the idea of people riffling through my things with poison though so I bought my own little sprayer and I haven't seen a bug since. Parking is good, at least in my area, my roommate has a reserved spot infront of our patio and my girlfriend has never had a difficult time finding a spot. I have personally never had issues with crime here, the community is really quiet and I have never had problems with my neighbors. I work the evening shift in the medical center so I usually come in pretty late. I haven't heard about any crimes so I haven't worried about it. We just got new washers and dryers which can be monitored online and that is pretty neat... I will say the grounds aren't the most appealing... For instance the pool nearest to me has had some sewage issues and is now closed and green... They probably should have at least drained the pool for aesthetic and sanitary reasons but I only see it when I go do laundry so it's not a big deal to me. Apartment is old, some things are getting worn down, my patio gate for example is a bit difficult to open and close, but despite the heat lately the apartment stays very cool, sometimes too cold in the mornings. Overall I like the place, never have had problems, perhaps the community is built up of the whiniest people they could find or on the other side of the complex there are tons of problems or something but over here on my side things are great, I'd definitely recommend them to others.
