Resident ā€¢ 2010 - 2011

11/17/2011

Never ever live here unless you want to regret

I have lived at Brompton Court for one year. I came to Houston and picked Brompton because it is close to medical center. The first few months is fine until The building was purchased by Merion Realty Management in late 2010, things have gone down hill quite quickly after. The old staff, friendly and rarely make mistakes, were all fired when Merion took over and replaced with a group of young people who just graduated with their business degree. There's nothing wrong with that, per se, except the leasing office staff has been surprisingly unhelpful, rude, and mike mistakes all the time. It's not uncommon to go to the office to ask a question or get a package and sit there waiting for 5 to 10 minutes without even being spoken too. I once went down for package, the lady told me it was not there after a brife look and told me "ask the person to send you again", however, it was a Fedex package and the tracking record clearly said it had been delivered a few days ago with even a signiture. I had to go back a second time and finally another guy got it for me. They also sent you notice ask for payments after you already paid them. I got those notices/emails several times within a few months period. Fortunately I'm a organized person and keep my own records of payment so I always have proof of payment to show them. They also gave you wrong numbers when you want to pay before hand due to vacation and later they told you that you haven't paid yet. Perhaps the worst is the property manager, whose attitude I can't describe adequately in polite company. Suffice it to say she has only one purpose: squeeze the residents for as much money as possible, evan after you move out. Overall, the last year has been a total pain in the ---. I have lived in multiple apts in multiple states and have never ever see such a bad one (not the building). I moved for a job in another state, but were I staying in Houston there is absolutely no way I would remain at Brompton Court. If you're looking at living at Brompton Court, please be prepared with the following: 1. Terrible feelings to deal with the office staff -the management here is a total nightmare. 2. Prepare your money: as you will be asked to pay even after you already paid them; and you are likely to get a big fine notice after you move out 3. Prepare flashlight and batteries because the power went out frequently without notice. Read more: http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/TX-Houston-Brompton-Co
