We have lived at this complex for about 3 years. When we first moved in, the reviews were pretty good but once management changed, everything just went downhill.
Our apartment or cars never actually got broken into but I think it was the location of our unit (in a main hallway). The water ALWAYS got shut off and management never does anything to compensate - when you call them because you don't have water for 12 hours the office just tells you to suck it up because he's going through the same thing and it's the city's fault. The people in the office are ok - always new except one guy, who's kind of a jerk. The water is also ALWAYS RED. It's disgusting. I'd have to wash my bathroom every 5 days because there will be a ring of red around my tub, toilet, and sink. I feel like I'm going to get cancer from living there. The place is extremely old, walls are extremely thin (you can hear your neighbors' conversations and EVERYTHING in the courtyard), and your rent will go up every year. We started at $950 the first year to over $1100 by the time we left for a 1 bedroom/study.
I never got attacked but always felt unsafe walking to my apartment at night. There's also a group of guys in an SUV that just started hanging out at the corner store smoking and drinking. By the way, the corner store sucks. There's nothing there and anything that is there is way overpriced. Management also outrageously charged us $300 on move out for "cleaning". $100 for carpet cleaning, $100 for oven cleaning (WTF), and another $100 for changing bathroom fixtures (WTF). They really are poorly managed and the entire place needs to be renovated or sold.
The only positive about the place is that it is spacious. Other than that, I am so happy we moved out and wouldn't recommend any of my friends to live here.
