We've lived at Brompton Court Apartments for 2 years and we've had an overall comfortable stay.
We got an apartment that had been recently been renovated, so it was in good condition. We have a little backyard in the back though, and that was in very poor condition. We had to do A LOT of cleaning to get it to look nice. The size of our apartment is decent and we are very happy with it. One of our favorite things about the apartments is that we cannot hear our neighbors. Every once in a while, we will hear some footsteps or some music, but we cannot hear our neighbors for the most part.
We've never had any negative encounters with the management office. The workers there tend to be quite polite and courteous, for the most part. Jonathan is especially nice! Sometimes there's a wait because the complex is so large, but they greet you politely and help you with whatever you need.
Maintenance is not the best, probably because the complex is very large. We put in a maintenance request after our tub handle broke and we couldn't shower without having to use a pair of pliers to get the water running. We got so tired of waiting and just replaced the part ourselves. We also had a leak in our ceiling from the upstairs neighbors leaky dishwasher. Maintenance came and fixed the ceiling, but never came back to paint it, leaving a patch in our kitchen ceiling. Once I walked in to the front office and after being there for 5 minutes, overhead 2-3 residents complaining about maintenance, so I guess we weren't the only ones with maintenance issues.
The apartments are very pet friendly. We had an issue with neighbors not picking up after their dogs and letting their dogs use the restroom on the sidewalks, so the management office sent out notices and made sure everyone was aware of the rules about cleaning up after your pets.
Security seems to be an issue with several apartments in the area, so this is no different. Someone tried to steal our car, but the front office was helpful with filing a police report and they sent out a notice to the residents after the break in. From what I can tell, this type of criminal activity is not only at these apartments, but in the general area. One thing that does bother me about security is that the gate at the front is often broken and just left open all day. What is the point of having a gate if it's always open?
Moving out kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. We left the apartment super clean and in great condition and they still charged me around $300 for pet and ozone cleaning on the carpet even though my dog was not allowed to ever be in the bedroom because of the carpet. The lady I spoke to on the phone was quite rude about getting the money AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or they would send a debt collector, even though we always paid all our bills on time.
Overall, this apartment complex is okay. Rent has gone up quite considerably, so it would be beneficial to look at other apartments in the area in the same price range.
