I've lived here for 3 years and will renew my lease in the fall. I definitely recommend Brompton Court. The units are large with huge closets, there are several laundry rooms so no one has to walk too far, and about 5 different pools!
Management/Office Staff: There are a lot of negative reviews about the management, BUT things are really starting to turn around since we were (THANK GOODNESS) taken over by new management this spring and they are seriously AWESOME. I see the manager out constantly trying to find ways to improve and she is always looking for resident feedback. The gym equipment that hasn't worked for 2 years has been fixed or replaced and more machines have been added. The communication has improved so much and we always get a courtesy email about any repairs going on around the complex, as well as just looking for general feedback. The old office staff would act annoyed any time someone walked in there, but the new folks are so dang friendly and actually care about the residents and want us to be happy. I always get a nice smile and wave when I drive past.
Maintenance: AMAZING. These guys have always been great and will work hard to make sure that everything gets fixed correctly and quickly. I feel comfortable letting them into my place to do work. This is an older complex but the maintenance crew works tirelessly to ensure that everything stays updated and in working order.
Neighbors: The community is mostly made up of students and professionals who work in the medical center. There are also quite a few patients who are here for several months at a time for treatment. A few families are sprinkled throughout the community and the kids are well behaved. Everyone is pretty quiet but friendly. I was impressed with the way everyone rallied together during the recent flooding to help each other clear water out of their homes and cars. The neighborhood is safe and mostly residential surrounding.
Price: Of course the price is going to increase each year, but I have found this to be consistent with the market in the area and I have yet to find a better deal. It is nice that they offer flexible lease terms.
Valet Trash: The one major downside to living here is the mandatory valet trash for $25/month. This is run by an outside company who may or may not actually pick up the trash at the designated time (which so happens to be right around dinner time when we need our trash can!). The people they hire are rude and not very friendly and I have yet to hear of anyone who is actually happy that we have them. We don't even bother with them anymore and just take out our own trash when it's full. This would be better as an opt-in service.
Overall I have been very happy living here and would recommend it to friends or family.
