This email was meant to be received by the assistant manager, as she is up-to-date on my particular situation. My name is Christopher Gonzales and I live in apartment 661. Let me give you a quick reminder of my story. I came into the office on Monday, July 6th to express my disappointment that despite three conversations with the office staff about getting my accent wall painted while I was on vacation for a week, it did not get done. I also wanted to express my frustration that the person or persons who came into my apartment to clean the carpet (because the leaking air conditioner dripped on the closet floor for days because it took 3 requests to get fixed) left the air conditioner on at 63 degrees F the entire week that I was gone. I printed off the Bounce energy report showing the decline in electricity usage the first day I was gone, and the spike in usage following the days that carpet-cleaning crew came in. I told the assistant manager of some of the issues I have had with my apartment the past few months: The shower temperature fluctuating from cold to scorching hot every 15-30 seconds. The power outage on half of the kitchen (the side where the stove is). The contract that Brompton has with one towing company that is so small and so far North of the property that it took over 3 hours to have the other car removed from by reserved parking spot. Not being allowed to call another towing company to remove a vehicle from my spot in a reasonable amount of time is frustrating. If getting a tow truck to remove a vehicle from my spot takes over 3 hours, odds are the vehicle will be gone by the time the truck arrives. My air-conditioner was leaking copious amounts of water on the carpet in the closet. It took three requests (two I made in person and one I sent electronically) before it was taken care of. Then the carpet started smelling like mold. It is way too hot in Houston in the Summer to not have the AC on, I put bowls on the floor to catch as much of the water as I could, but the water was dripping randomly in other spots. My bathroom sink was leaking, the maintenance crew found a crack in the sink. It took two visits but he finally put enough silicone to stop the leak. I requested an accent wall painted while I was gone on vacation, I moved the furniture, spoke to three people about the convenience of not being here while the fumes were strong, and moved the furniture, it didn't get done. A carpet-cleaning crew came in to clean my carpet because of the leaking air-conditioner that caused the carpet to smell like mold. They came in, turned on the AC (set to 63 degrees C) and didn't turn it off when they left. So, my AC was on for 7 days maintaining that cold temperature while the temperature in Houston for the week varied between 90-95 degrees F. I am not paying for this one. Monday night, hours after I went into the office to complain about the accent wall and the AC, my refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. I called emergency maintenance at 10:30PM or so because I had just come back from my vacation and purchased groceries for the week. Armando said that he would get to it Tuesday at 9AM. My refrigerator was not considered an emergency. So, all the food in the freezer went bad and I managed to salvage some of the stuff from the refrigerator. This cost me about $100 in food I had just purchased about 4 hours earlier. If you speak with Armando he will verify the request and that my freezer in fact did fail. I am sick of this. You can't make this property any younger and you don't make a profit by replacing equipment every time it fails (you repair it). It is safe to say that I will not be renewing my lease again.
