Ventana has really improved recently due to a change in owners. The new owners seem to genuinely care about improving living conditions and responding to resident concerns. For example, they've increased office hours, making it easier for those on a steady work schedule to get in and talk to the staff. The office staff have historically been very courteous and responsive. It's a shame they've lost Lexi this year, because she was the best! Hoping more great staff come in her stead. A great thing about the complex is that it actually incorporates natural greenery and isn't just a paved lot. There's a fair amount of avian wild life that hangs about, which is really awesome. They've now also got more automated and mobile tools for you to handle maintenance requests, rent payment, etc... They're also really good about sending you a heads up when your lease is coming up with enough time for you to actually respond and decide if it's time to move out or not, which should be standard practice, but sadly, not all apartment complexes are as honest as they should be. The rent rates could be better and it's an older complex, so there are some headaches with that on occasion. The walls aren't sound proof and some of the apartments don't have a great air flow design, meaning they can get pretty hot and loud. So your ease of life can really depend on the unit you end up with. There are also some pretty not cool dog owners in the complex. There are several really good dog owners living here, don't get me wrong, who know how to own and train dogs. So it's not that all dog owners are bad. But there are many dog owners here, too, who don't always clean up after their dogs, don't train them properly, leave them out to bark for hours on end, and walk them off lease when their dog is actually aggressive (even if it's a tiny yorkie, that doesn't mean it's okay for it to bark and charge at people) and should not be. Overall, with the new ownership, it's shaping up to be a solid choice to live in. The complex itself has charm not found in many other offerings. Just be aware of the downsides above.
