Eh! can complain, but not mad

This is my first experience living in an apartment. My husband and I have lived here for a month so far, and although I have a few things to complain about, I cant say its all that bad here. I guess I'll start from the beginning... We came here to look at them, and we found a floor plan we liked and could afford, so we decided to go home and talk about it...The next day we come back to sign the lease.. and oh the apartment we wanted had gone up $100 and was no longer available. They asked us if we wanted an even more expensive one on the 1st floor. Money stealers. Well we actually got one of there specials they had for a good price.. so that turned out ok. Then.. during all the signing of the papers.. they kept asking and we kept telling them YES, we have a pet. Yet, never once did they ask for our Pet Fee. So they dont ask, we dont pay. WELL along with the pet fee it's $10 extra with rent. So when rent came, we paid ten extra dollars.. then the next day we get a call saying they received ten extra dollars and if you have a pet you need to pay the fee immediately or we will evict your animal. Well hell why didnt you ask for it in the first place. Also, our mail box is broken.. you have to punch it to get it open, and the gate doesnt work for our friends cus they havnt put us in the directory like they said they would. But the biggest thing that has pissed us off... Is when we came to look at the apartments and we were looking at the model. one of the ladies told us if we purchase a fan, they will install it for free. So once we're all moved in, we buy a fan, ask for it to be put in...2 weeks later they call saying that they have the write up for them to install the fan, but they need the payment first... What payment? well it cost $60 dollars... even if we have our own fan? Yes. Well that's not what Demitria told us... well Demitria doesnt work here anymore. Thats CRAP! so needless to say.. we didnt install it.. they told us it was free, so we're not gonna pay. There has been some loud thumpin music and even an attempted robbery, but the cops are always right on it, and the apartment is quick with notifying us.. so stuff happens.. I'm ok with that. I do love my apartment, and love the atmosphere.. so I like this place. but think the management sucks. Oh and there is always parking for me and my husband.. so I love that. We're right by the train too, but you get use to it.
