Overpriced, overpainted walls and doors, etc.

This place is ridiculously overpriced! They raised their prices last year because two newly built apartment complexes opened up. So they thought that if they charge $1,800 for one bedroom, why 2200 Columbia Pike won't start charging similar prices, just because they claim to have bigger square footage. Well what they are forgetting is that: - their building is over 40 years old -their apartments are more damaged, stinky if previous smoker lived there before - the walls and door were overpainted tins of times you can't even close doors at all!!! - the caulking is over and over painted and looks horrible! Fungus keeps regrowing quickly - the carpet and paint in the hallways is depressing, and looks very old and cheap - wooden walls in elevators are falling apart, very cheap floors in there too - very cheap and stained flooring in kitchens, bathrooms have old over- caulked tiles - the venting system is very old and not distributed in apartment properly. There is one venting window for the whole area of living room, dining room which is twice the size of the bedroom, so you are always freezing in your bedroom and sweating in you living room. So much dirt comes through those vents it is disgusting! I change little filters monthly and they are black each time! There is no vent in the kitchen, so good luck cooking in summer! There is no exhaust fan in bathroom either. I also run two air filter 24/7 to help with the dust particles getting into your apartment from venting system. - the laundry room is on top floor, and there are at least 1-2 machines that are out of order every time I go there - more than half of residents been living here for 20 plus years, so they pay very little rent comparing to folks who moved in witting Lat 5 years! So we the new residents are being ripped off to cover the difference - they advertise 'state of the art gym' on their website! Give me a break! Only two machines are newer than 2007, the rest is like 20 years old! There are only 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 2 bikes there! Forget about free weights or other weight machines. Only one old atlas! So these are just a few things to consider before moving in. Beware! Go some place else if you can. I can't wait to move soon!
