Stay away!

They are horribly slow at taking care of the streets and side walks after a storm. Total disaster area. Beyond that, our rent went up HUNDREDS of dollars this year! They get you in on a good deal, then nail you with a HUGE rent increase for the next year. The rents are now way higher than any of the other complexes in the area, and you're not getting more for what you're paying at all. Horrible carpet, slow maintenance (you have to call and email over and over to get them to come, and they still don't do it right the first time. Our toilet was leaking all over the floor, and they still wouldn't come out. Same with a leaking AC unit which is in the stupidest place you could imagine.) Thin walls, rude management who don't care and just say there's nothing they can do (or don't even answer the phone), they all tell you something different as well. Oh, and they gym they claim to have? Doesn't exist. They tore it down in fall 2010, and have no idea when they'll have it rebuilt. Yet, still, charging the huge increase in rent when we're not getting what we're paying for to begin with. WTF is wrong with these people? There's also been a number of drug busts in the neighborhood lately. Cops surrounded our friends' place, and the guy they were trying to catch was actually banging on their door trying to get in! SO NOT safe. Rent checks have even been stolen right out of their "safe" lock box! Plus, Verizon cell towers are constantly going out around here, Fios constantly craps out and with how the place is wired, you can only have one connection...AC and heating units are old, no insulation so the electric bills are sky high, the shuttle for the metro is never on time so you often miss it, end up waiting forever, and are late, and the hours the pool is open are short. So any "perks" they claim to have, don't actually exist. They didn't even have the place clean the day we were scheduled to move in, so we had to delay our plans when we had everything rented to move. In short, the place has gone to crap.
