I'll start with the positive feedback: dog friendly, clean common space/grounds, great location, decent price for area, and nice neighbors. The one thing I don't think can be controlled by Tysons Glen is how loud our neighbors walk above us....it's loud! I want to like it here because of what I said above, but unfortunately we have had nothing but a terrible experience so far and tonight is my breaking point. After a lovely weekend of finally feeling settled in our apartment (after a HUGE list of problems - see below) I took a shower and when I got out the hot water would not turn off. We opened the wall behind the shower to turn off the water, and it STILL would not turn off. We have lived here for 1 month as of this coming Wednesday, October 8. Do yourself a favor, read the list of problems below and then decide on your own if you want to go through this hell. If you don't enjoy moving into an apartment that is not ready the day you arrive, having many issues come up while you are trying to unpack in your new home that keep you from being able to unpack, showering for 7 days without hot water, being treated extremely unprofessionally and rudely by the company's Director of Residential Properties who only offered us "a onetime $100 credit for any/all inconvenience due to the delay on our move in day" - even though there have been issues far beyond the delay on our move in day...and now NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN OFF THE HOT WATER IN YOUR SHOWER, then stay far far away from this place. List of problems we have experienced since moving in: -Apartment not ready when we arrived causing us to come back 4 hours later -No hot water in shower for 7 days -No carpet in den -No working dishwasher -The apartment smelled like paint because it had been painted that day -Had no microwave at all -The patio sliding screen door was off track (and is off track already again) -The front closet door fell off tracks -There's paint splattered on the bathroom wall tiles (and this is still there) -We had moldy bathtub hardware -Closet racks were improperly hung without anchors, and fell out of the wall while trying to unpack -The sliding patio blinds were falling down -The toilet flusher was not properly installed causing water to spray out the back of the reservoir -There was an open tack strip in the linen closet, which we stepped on in bare feet As I mentioned above, on top of all of these issues we are now waiting on emergency maitenance to arrive on a Sunday night to fix our hot water that won't turn off in the shower, instead of cooking the nice dinner we were about to prepare. Lovely way to end the weekend! The executive team of this company has been useless in this entire situation and sent us an email where they said "I have completed a full in depth investigation of all issues you have brought up to our attention as well as had a meeting with a team. I strongly believe that we have gone above and beyond to assure that you residency at Tysons Glen is enjoyable" - they never apologized, and they could not even pick up the phone to call us. Then when my fiance called, they were extremly rude to him. I work in the customer service industry and find this treatment to be absolutely appalling. The property manager has been very friendly, and so have all the maitenance staff that we have interacted with. If they were all in charge of deciding appropriate compensation for this hell then maybe we wouldn't have such a sour taste in our mouths. We have a 1 year lease and really hope things will get better from here on out because the people around us are friendly and it's very dog friendly. Everytime I think everything is fixed and am ready to move on and stop being angry something else happens....
