I strongly discourage you to live here. The service is below satisfactory. It looks very nice, but once you are a resident, you'll see that operationally it is ugly. First, you are lured in with a rent that is reasonable considering it is a new community located in a developing area with a hospital within walking distance. However, once your lease is up, you are faced with a renewal rate that skyrockets past any rate of inflation. Personally, I was expected to pay an extra $200 a month for a full renewal of my lease. That was not month to month as that was even higher. Secondly, you get there and the staff (excluding maintenance because they are great) hawks you as you throw your trash away and demands that you run the compactor even when it isn't necessary. Perhaps that is because that area often looks messy as residents start to pile trash up outside of the compactor. Don't wait until the day before to pay your bill because the online system fails too often, and instead of them being flexible or understanding, you will just get attitude in that leasing office. I'm not sure about you, but I would prefer more professionalism and a can-do attitude from staff, especially if I'm paying an arm and a leg for a space that isn't even that large. Don't invite a guest over often because you better believe someone from the leasing office will interrogate that guest. Also, don't mind the ignorance of a staff member who wishes her daughter to mate with a black man so that her grandchild will have a nice skin tone with curly hair. That is irrelevant but a true statement that I found quite offensive. Make sure you reserve at least $75 for a mandatory carpet cleaning fee when you move out, and whatever you do make sure you pay the express cleaning fee upon move out. If not, you will be charged whatever Station Square thinks you owe them. This could be specific to that property or an MAA thing, but I can only speak about my experience with Station Square. Don't let the outside aesthetic fool you. Keep looking. That is not the place for you.
