I went back and forth for a while on which apartment to choose because it's important to love where you live, to feel safe, comfortable & at peace in your new home. I picked The Villages at West Laurel because i thought thats what i would be getting here. Let me just say, the staff is wonderful, their communication has been great so far. However the apartment we were moved into was WAY less than ideal. They told us our apartment wouldbt be ready to view until 2-3 days before we move & they would reach out when it was ready so we could come see it. That reach out never happened but we decided to go anyway. Fast forward to move in day and the process went pretty smooth besides a hiccup with the mailbox key & them saying we owed more money at move in, fine. We move in with the help of family and friends. Smells like throwup in the apartment. We stop moving to feed our hungry family and while were all gathered around eating , its starts. ROACHES crawling down the wall , coming out of the door frames, baseboards, closets , drawers, EVERYWHERE. They moved us into an apartment with a persist and severe ROACH infestation. Their game plan/ solution is to have pest control come and spray insecticide all over my apartment, every week, for the first 3 or so months of living here. That doesnt sound like a solution to me , my asthmatic roomate, or my 10year old small dog who also has breathing problems of her own . We are so STRESSED about this situation we can barley sleep, or eat , walking around looking like zombies. Ive lost 5lbs in the 6 days of living here, because i am just so stressed. Im patiently waiting to see if i can get out of this lease while in the meantime acting like full time exterminator in my own home, clutching a can of Raid anytime i need to walk around. Looking back on the reviews (which we definitely should have done a little more thoroughly), people has mentioned roaches and pests, so they are aware that this is affecting their community. This was so disappointing and sad, save yourself the money & the heartache until they start taking PREVENTATIVE measures instead of treating things when they hear about them.
