This is one of the most aggravating places I have lived. There are supposed to be assigned parking spots but that doesn't stop other people from parking in your spot, and it's up to you to call the tow company to deal with it. Management does little to deal with the situation. To make matters worse, parents allow their children to play in the parking lot when there is available safe areas to play. On more than one occasion we have had balls hit our car and children run out in front of our vehicle while it's moving. You can hear the neighbors easily through the walls and floor and many of them are downright rude and loud. The people below us start slamming their door at about 530am and it doesn't stop until after 11:00 at night. Sometimes it's every 5 to 10 minutes (I've timed them) for hours on end. Bugs. While I would like to say that cockroaches are the worst problem, they aren't. There are bed bugs. This is the first place I have ever lived with a bed bug problem. Management can't seem to get a handle on either problem, and on the rare occasion that they do treatments it's horribly inconvenient requiring you to be out of your apartment 4 hours to most of the day depending on what they are treating for. We have also had the exterminators damage our furniture and belongings. When we reported that to the staff it was promptly ignored. As far as the staff goes, I am sure they are great people outside of work (they maintenance staff is very friendly), but their ability to run Glen Arbor and deal with problems leaves very little to be desired. We spent a weekend without hot water. According to management that isn't an "emergency situation". They couldn't even be bothered to send out a quick email saying "sorry for the inconvenience". They are currently doing renovations and we have had even more bugs get in the apartment including centipedes, spiders, silverfish and rather large palmetto bugs. Management is getting very lax about giving anyone 24 hours notice for anything that needs to be done, like bug treatments. You are lucky to get 15 (so much for the 24 hour notice required by law) and if you don't comply they fine you $150. If you complain their official statement is, "It's not big deal, just let us do the treatment." It is a big deal when 1. they schedule exterminators that don't show, 2. You are given less than 24 hours notice and 3. you work overnight shift and get no sleep because of managements inability to manage and follow renters laws in giving notice. Our AC has barely worked since we moved in and we have been told that an AC will only lower the temperature of a building by 10 degrees at most so it is going to be hot in the apartment on a summer day of 90 to 100 F even with it running and to suck it up. Not a good living situation for someone with asthma or COPD. If you are female you can't even go outside because male tenants from other apartments leer and catcall. They also spend a lot of time outside drinking and drunk from about 1:00 in the afternoon until midnight some times. Oh, and speaking of respiratory problems, the apartment produces more dust than anywhere I have ever lived and we have to change the filter every 3 to 4 weeks or people can't breathe or break out in rashes from the dust allergy. Between allergy rashes and bed bug bites, members of my family look like they have a skin plague. I could go on but this is already a novelette. Living here has been one of the most unpleasant and stressful experiences of my life. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
