Please read everything carefully, everything below is based upon true experience with this apartment complex, I'm not attempting to "bad mouth" or disrespect the companies who own the property or the staff who run it, I'm simply sharing my story to potential renters.
My family and I moved into Lake Fenwick Estates early September of 2013. Before signing an official lease my parents were taken on a tour around the property by a woman (I will refer to as 'E') It all seemed to be very decent and It was affordable at the time. The day we moved in by itself was a disaster, parking here is an absolute nightmare.
So we're settled in by the time next months rent is due, my father had the rent money (money orders) encapsulated in an envelope that he delivered to their provided drop box that's in front of their office (It left my fathers hands and entered their provided drop box). The next day he received an alarming phone call from a woman who works in the office (I will refer to as 'S') S proclaimed that she had not received the money, and had insisted It may be a miscommunication between her and a janitorial employee.
Realization that the money had been stolen by an unknown criminal from their property set in but It was too late S waited too long and kept us out of the loop the money orders had been 'washed' and illegally cashed. My family ended up spending $100+ out of our own pocket to try and help them receive the stolen rent of October 2013 (We did not have to do this) One other persons money had been stolen (according to S) she explicitly requested we did not contact the police to file an official report. (I'd also like to add after the theft took place E who toured us mysteriously was let go)
I'm going to wrap it up here, within the months to come it was a constant battle receiving false "Three day pay or vacate" notices attached to are apartment door. I think It's important to add that besides October we have been current on rent, we paid October but they failed to secure their property and it was taken by a criminal. In a pathetic attempt to receive the stolen rent of October from us they alleged that we did not pay July of 2014's rent (We always demand receipts) and had proof the woman in the office said "We're charging you for October, but writing it as though you did not pay July" when there is documentation to prove otherwise.
They now refuse to renew our lease when It expires , we'll be forced to be on a month to month basis with a 10% increase in rent, It all stems due to their gross negligence to secure their property properly. Long story short, If you want to be treated as an equal and don't enjoy being penalized for their mistakes I would strongly advise to take your business elsewhere.
