Verified Resident • 2020 - 2021
I've lived in the community for ~16 years. I moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom 2 years ago. I like the construction of the front "older" buildings as they're quite sound resistant. There's excellent water pressure, the apartments have a private entrance, an ok exercise room (not great, but it will do), I have heated underground parking, and there's a nice general feel to the grounds. The rent at one time was reasonable, though I feel that it's getting a bit much as of late, and I do question if it is too high. Overall, if I were to move from here it would be to a house - This is the last apartment complex I'll have in my life, it meets all my needs. This is a large complex, and I've heard things about different areas of the grounds, different experiences than my own. In my area, my space - I'm fairly happy with things.
Complaints:
- my neighbors smoke under my windows and in their home excessively and it stinks. I had to buy an air filter system.
- I really dislike the vertical sliding windows - it makes putting in an air conditioning unit very difficult, and the in wall unit provided isn't powerful enough to cool the apartment adequately.(build a "Frame" prototype and then give the specs out to people so they can build one for their windows (the windows are all the same sizes it seems) and this problem is easily solved).
- The bedrooms should have a internet / cable outlet in them, running a cable down a wall into another room is not a viable semi-permanent option.
- I wish the kitchen had more counter space. I really hate the positioning of the fire alarms in these buildings. right at a 90 degree corner, way too easy to bump into them.
- Neighbors can be careless with their dog waste.
- I don't like that my having an underground parking space means I don't get a parking lot space - that seems wrong.
- I wish my patio was bigger, like my old place had (corner unit - had a big patio).
- I wish there were more outlets on the walls.
None of the things I complained about above are very "major" - and I have no complaints about the staff. In my opinion, nothing has happened or is a negative enough that I would "need" to move. In general, I like it here.
