Parkwood seems like a good place to live. Seems nice, well maintained, the staff is kind, and the apartments are neat. However, the security is a joke. The guard seems to get along with the "vagos" and hangs out with them all night. Sometimes you even see random people inside the gold cart with him. On one occasion a car crashed into the front gate and there he was standing with the kids who had crashed and hadn't even called the police, I called the police that night and they informed me that the accident had not been reported yet. Another thing, on the night of New Years Eve my girlfriend and I arrived home at about 4 A.M. our downstairs neighbor met us and informed us the some guys had attempted to break into her apartment. Needless to say, we slept with the couch against the door for a few nights. About a month after moving in we were informed by some friends who lived there that there next door neighbor has moved in and the next day his apartment was broken into. His door had been even knocked down. AND FOR THE WORST! A GIRL WAS RAPED INSIDE HER APARTMENT AT GUN POINT! I know this by a good source, and I know that it is fact. When I confronted the management about this they talked around the subject and became nervous. Also, once my girlfriend and I saw how unsafe we were we decided to move immediately and break our lease. I should mention that I am a women and two girls living alone in an unsafe environment is not good. I went to the office and asked on various occasions how much I would have to pay to cancel my lease. I paid them the exact amount and about 15 days after moving out I am hit with a bill for 800 more dollars that I needed to pay. Now I have attempted to call the number to pay these 800 dollars in payments but the lady in-charge does not seem to know how to answer her phone. As does Parkwood, the phone would never be answered and you had to call at least 5 or 6 times till you got through. So PLEASE DO NOT "MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME" at Parkwood and fall for their fake smiles and unsafe place. Also, the gate was recently fixed but did not work and was left open for approximately 4 months.

Worst apartments to live first time I walk in the staff was nice kissed --- said these are the best to rent I won't have any problem would answer all my call and even call back when I had questions thought everything was going to be fine.well there is hidden charges only give you 2 days to pay rent its ridiculous other places give you 5 days to pay rent squeaky floor boards first week I move in kitchen cabinets break took a month til someone came to replace the staff is rude talk back never apologize office says they close at 6 went to drop of the rent money 15 minutes before close the door was locked blinds closed I called numerous of times and left a voicemail they never answered and never had the courtesy to call back when the staff finally answered had the nerve to tell me she was there til 6:20 she didn't need to apologize because there is a drop box so they charged me $55 for being late I guess it was my mistake.

I love it here!! staff is great.. area is nice and clean all the time. lots of shade on grass area so that kids can go outdoors and play... peaceful and quite.. I really have no complaints so far.. I've been living here for about 6 months and already thinking about renewing my lease! great place

i just renewed my lease, but would not have done, im very happy here has been a very nice place to live very quiet and clean, grounds are kept up nicely, pools are very nice and clean,,the office staff are very helpful and very respecfully, if you thinking of moveing here i highly recommend :)

I have had a wonderful experience with the management. I have nothing to complain about. I have been treated with the utmost respect and living here and being in the same apartment for the last couple of years is great also knowing that if I have an emergency with any appliance there are people to respond to it.

BEST in the West

This is a great place to live. I have lived here for 3 years and in the same apartment. I have seen different managers and office staff but they have always been nice and helpful in the office and over the phone. I like the location of the complex and that it is gated is even better. The complex is patroled by a courtesy person everyday an he us real helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone!!

Pretty great place.

I've lived here for just about 3 years now and it is not bad at all. My family and I are also about to renew our contract. We get a lot of new people in the front office, but they are all usually nice! If we ever have any problems with our apartment, maintenance is really good at getting to you quick. The longest it has ever taken them to come fix something was maybe a day or two. The gym thing is true, the machines aren't too great and we could use new equipment pretty soon. Most neighbors are really friendly. Only once did we have a problem with a neighbor and management took care of it right away. Honestly, I would definitely recommend this apartment complex. Overall it's a great place to live at and the prices aren't bad.

This place is a dump since the previous manager left...

This place is a dump! Ever since the previuos owner left over a year ago, this place has gone down hill. I can't believe the comment posted on 3/27/2007! Maintenance sucks, we only have 3 outlets that work in our kitchen and maintenance has never bothered to fix it, although we have brought it to their attention. We hear gunshots every night, people park in your assigned parking spots, the area is filthy, the neighbors are rude, the exercise room only has two pieces of working equipment (this is a typical occurence) and at one point, the exercise room was closed for over 3 months because of damage. Neighbors are constantly loud, and not just the regular tenants, the workers in the office are worse, being exceptionally loud around 2-3 in the morning! The religious group The Door has been here twice to use the courtyard setting up microphones, a projector screen, rap music the whole nine yards. Even in your own appartment you can hear them! When maintenance people asked why they were here, he was told they had permission from managment to be there! This, by the way is completely illegal, and it is noted in their rental contracts religous affiliates are not to be on grounds, but some how, MANAGEMENT does what MANAGEMENT wants. Hey, I am as religious as the next person, but instead of forcing your belief on me, why not fix my outlets, the swimming pool ( I won't even get into that) the exercise room, occassionally trimming the trees and surrounding follage or better yet, replace the office staff with PROFESSIONAL people, not ones that look as they have excaped from death row.

Good place

This place is great overall. Security is great, condition of the apartments are very nice, and maintenance is always there on time and gets the job done right. Car was never vandalized or anything. Neighbors are friendly and considerate. No roaches, or other critters. I've been here 2 years and they've been good to me.

TURN BACK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

WORST place to live. i lived there for one year and the landlord made my life miserable. i had to put up with no A/C injune, july, and aug.with repeated attempts to get it fixed i had to contact a renters organization to solve the problem. they allways just say oh turn on the fan or it aint that hot. every time i had a question about something they would allways say goota talk to mr. harris. mr. harris this and mr. harris that. who is mr. harris ?and why have i never met him?when i moved in my storage room was full of the lanlords things wich stayed 6 mo before i drug it to the dumpster. and to sum it up when i gave my notice to move out the new renters beggan bringing stuff into my appt. before i even beggan packing. my stuff is still there and those people are using it right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It wasn't that bad!!!

I lived in Parkwood for 3 years. Never had any problems. Maintenance responded in reasonable time. Never had my car or property vandalized. Had a few neighbors that played loud music, but never became too much of an issue. This is a big property, I lived up front by the office. Gated community, gate regulary not functioning because residents ran into it with cars. Nightly security patrol. My only complaint is that most of the staff is predominantly Spanish speaking and sometimes it was a chore to communicate with apartment staff, especially maintenance crew.

Don't listen to the whiners

I have been living at Parkwood for the last 6 months and I am a day sleeper. I find it to be very nice and quiet. The grounds are imaculate and my apartment is in very good condition as well. These folks having trouble with the management must be trouble makers or late on rent...I have had no problem at all. It's a business and they arn't mom and pop. Aside from the nice overall experience the nearby shopping and bus lines are a big plus! Having paid for electricity with ac that I control year round is also great!

I live here now and I'm hating every minute of it

The staff at Parkwood are airheads and don't give a damn about thier residents. They act like they care before you sign the lease, but other than that, forget about it. Parking is so terrible, I don't even invite family or friends over because it's so much of a hassle. They slap a fine on everyone for every little thing! I live here now and I can't wait to move out! STAY AWAY!!!!!

This is the worst place I have ever lived at.

Let's see where should I start. I have lived here for a little over a year. You hear gunshots every night, but not from its residents, but from the area surrounding the complex. It's difficult to find a parking spot if you have an extra car because most apartments seem to have more than one family in them or at least they have more than two cars, which makes it difficult to find parking. This is worse on weekends when people have their visitors parking overnight. Sometimes you have to walk clear across the complex to your car because it's the only parking available. It seems that the complex layout wasn't done very well and most of the uncovered parking is very far away from where the majority of the buildings are located. The trash cans are always full and the area around the trash are usually filthy with trash lying everywhere near the trash bins. It looks literally like a dump. Unfortunately management is strict with everyone at the cost of people that actually obey the rules. The have fines for everything from not wearing the proper attire for swimming, not throwing away your trash correctly, throwing trash near the mailboxes and running the gate. These fines run at least $25 per occurance on up. Everyone always runs the gates also and there have been occasions where people come driving behind a person using their card to open the gate in order to try to get ahead of the person using the card, many times almost causing accidents. Recently, the complex even started charging a deposit for the swimming pool because someone caused damage to it and changed the locks. Residents were required to pay the charge and take the time to get another key. If you ask me, a lot of problems could be solved if the management would just install video cameras around the property.
