I loved the Ashton the moment I stepped foot in here. They have the best up keep of a property I've seen. The surrounding area is so nice and calm. The apartments are so spacious and have amazing closet space you just cant find anywhere in the San Francisco area. Everyone is so friendly and pleasant to speak to. As far as bay area apartment rent they aren't bad at all, they are very good for the amount of space and comfort they offer. I would much rater pay sf prices here than anywhere else.

Overall great apartment: spacious, great amenities, and close to airport. The management however, is extremely annoying: she will contact you for every little infraction, but if you are in need of anything you'll be lucky to get a response at all. Our car has been broken into several times and we've had two packages stolen. Parking is a nightmare unless you pay $200/mo to be in the garage which is astronomical given the location. It is a food desert--you can't get anywhere without driving. Only real benefit is proximity to the airport and the possibility of having a water view. With that water view comes an incessant smell of trash given the waste management site nearby.

I've had an overall positive experience at the Ashton. The building is very nice, offers some nice amenities, and the apartments are well-insulated. The units are exceptionally large by San Francisco standards. The location can be a bit out of the way, but offers a quiet retreat from the bustle of the city. The area could definitely use some beautification.

We love living here at Ashton Apartments! The friendly staff is professional and accommodating. Everything about the community is amazing, from the Italian tile flooring to the extra large walk-in closets. We moved in years ago and don't want to leave. This community is the best-kept secret in SF.

Overall good. The staff is mostly friendly, they are responsive to service requests. The building is generally clean and they host a community event at least once a month. Its an overall pleasant place to live and by San Francisco standards it is incredibly nice.

Non professional maintenance staff for the last 2-3 months. Maintenance staff before this guy showed up was very professional, Muhammad and Marcus were two of the most nice people I knew. I felt physically threatened by the Maintenance Staff.

Unprofessional staff, very slow to respond to maintenance requests, building is dirty, apartment was dirty when I moved in and major appliances dont work (heat, refrigerator). Very disappointed in this community.

Fantastic place! Quiet with friendly staff and neighbors. Well-maintained, and in a safe area — exactly what I was looking for on the edge of the city. Best dog-friendly community — I feel good about having my dog living with me here. So glad I chose Ashton SF!

Love the size of the apartment. The property manager Priscilla Navas is great, she greets everyone with a smile and is very knowledablge about the ends and outs of San Francisco. The front desk manager Stephanie is very friendly and helpful as well and the new edition of a concierge has been great.

I think the community is awesome! I Every member of the staff is personable and helpful. Another plus is the presence of a walking path very close by that overlooks the San Francisco Bay. I go for a stroll every now and then just to admire the view.

I enjoy the experience and have enjoyed my living environment. The property common areas are very nice and welcoming. The only thing I have as an issue is that there are not enough restaurants or grocery stores in the area.

We like it here. Close to city and airport. A bit of a hike to any kind of shopping. Not happy with restaurant in building. Never open. Why have a business in the building who makes the residents a bottom priority. Quiet building. Well maintained and managed. Wish there were better exterior parking options. All in all, great place that we would recommend.

No flexibility and helpful concierge with our guests. Bad real state. No parking space for visitors. Too expensive for the amenities it provides. It would be great if a communicator and access to the main door and Elevator to our visitors can be control from inside the apartments.

Love living at the Ashton SF! It feels like we live in a luxury hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We have a 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms and it is incredibly spacious for the four of us. I love that there is a laundry room/utility room in our unit. It makes it easier to do laundry without interrupting some bodies bathroom. There are monthly get togethers were we meet other residents. I have never experienced this with all the others communities that I have lived at. Since the Ashton SF is in an industrial area, there are not much shopping close by. There is a 711 and Grocery Outlet, but if you want a Safeway, you need to drive about 5 miles away. All in all, I love living here!

The building is in a great location for commuting into the city as well as down the peninsula. Units are very large for SF, the staff is excellent, and the building exceptionally well maintained. We plan to stay a while.

High quality living space, good size building- not too big, easy access if you use parking and pay, relatively quiet neighborhood yet nothing close for shops and restaurants, management attentive to renters needs and rules

The Ashton is a gem in the San Francisco Rental Market. What makes it so fantastic? From the management team, who regularly communicates to residents about issues and forthcoming events, to the maintenance staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make sure all resident issues are handled timely and comprehensively, to the building itself, which is always clean, operates like a well oiled machine, and which maintains a reputation as one of the finest rental locations for the price. We could not be happier with the decision we made to come here, and have recommended it to all of our friends seeking a rental property in San Francisco. Thank you Ashton, for making living in San Francisco so effortless - that says it all!

I agree with the other reviewer. The apartments are gorgeous but the management is a nightmare. We definitely got a sales pitch full of lies and were more annoyingly lied to after our lease ended. John told us we'd be receiving most of our $1350.00 deposit back. We never received it and instead got a bill in the mail for an additional $1300.00. When he did a final walkthrough of our apartment, he looked around and said, "looks great." What a scam.

Absolutely Horrible.
The apartments themselves are very nice, however there were several problems living here that made it completly unbearable. Nearly everything that was told to us in the sales pitch was a complete lie, so be very careful in believing anything that John the manager and the rest of the staff say. It was really the management more than anything that forced us to break our lease and move, I recieved calls and emails about complaints on a DAILY basis. Most of these complaints were completly unfounded and totally false, he accused us of making noise and recieving noise complaints (several of which were made on weekends where we were out of town or when I was at work) I even went so far as to ask my neighbors if they made any complaints and all of them denied doing so. The staff accused me of having a loud dog, and when I finally gave my dog away (without telling them) because of these complaints they CONTINUED to accuse me of having a noisy dog. The run background and credit checks throughout my stay there, which looking back, I don't think is legal. I cannot stress enough how ridiculous and terrible living with the management was, I hated going home. John and his staff were the reason we left. The parking was small and generally a pain to have. The location was HORRIBLE, it isn't close to ANYTHING at all. No stores or gas stations are in walking distance and living next to a stadium was a nightmare. No taxi come here so you'll need a car to live here, stray too far and you'll find yourself in Hunters Point, one of the most dangerous places in SF. Be careful you don't ever lose or misplace your key, you will be stuck outside in the cold for hours with no security guard in sight. The appliances look very nice but are very poor quality, the will break down quite often. Be prepared to spend a lot of time with the maintenence guy. For the cost, better apartments or houses can be found. Please save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
