"Luxury" is overused

Apartments love to use the word "luxury", what a JOKE. The entry/lobby of Portifino is beautiful to make one think that living there will be some posh life. The management is ridiculous often making excuses when there are SERIOUS issues with the apartments. There is a horrible ant problem in the complex and they will spray but do not offer traps or anything for you to use. There is no lighting in the family room which makes the small apartment feel dark and like a dirty little motel room. There are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. There is nothing luxurious about the place. The front hot tub that is suppose to be heated is NEVER heated. The management, which seems to think they are staring on an episode of "O.C.", will say that is it because So. Cal. Edision needs to fix it, but guess what, they never are going to! The lack of propriety from the manager herself is ludicrous. She seems to be more concerned with her appearance and stilettos then caring for the tenants. We want to yell to people touring the place, "RUN!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!" There appears to be regular drug deals in the complex where shady people walk to and from. That makes one really uncomfortable when they have kids and when you see the amount of children walking around without parents.

Great except for main manager

These apartments are clean and nice. Everytime I've needed something fixed, it was always done within 24 hours. My washing machine did need to be fixed several times but it always worked (just got unbalanced alot). We painted and the management didn't care. My only issue is with the main manager, we'll call her "Dime". Dime is rude and condescending and acts like she owns the place. She over reacts and doesn't apologize for her rude unprofessional behavior. I can't believe she's been allowed to work there so long. All the other girls in the office are wonderful and I try to just deal with them whenever possible.

THIS PLACE -------...

The maintenance people here suck! you call the office and leave your information and they almost never fix stuff. Some of the maintenance guys are ok but one of them is a ------- ------ ---! and is a trouble starter. my family and I lived here at portofino with no problems for a year and a half and he stirred up drama for us...and since then, its been a total nightmare!!! --------------------------- are rude!! sometimes you have to keep calling the office over and over cause they don't answer the office phones. These women who run this so-called "luxurious" are malicious! And feel entitled to special priveleges just because they work here...BEWARE!!!! These apartments are not worth the money..!! And they have "informants" here...and with my experience here, if they don't like you they will try to find anything on you to get you out of here!!! i've noticed so many people moving out of here...guess I'm not the only one who's tired of their bullsh..!!! If you are not convinced by my review read other former tenants reviews as well and you will find that I am not the only person who feels this way about this complex!!!!!

love it here

My fiance and I have lived here for about 2years now and we love it!! Everyone is so nice and the staff and matintance is great. We love the tennis courts and its so beautiful here there is a lot of green and it doesn't feel like an apartment its our home. Our Cats love the patio and I really have enjoyed my stay here, but we are moving soon and I hate to leave here. :(

Roaches

I lived here for about 2 1/2 months and found several roaches inside and outside of my apartment. The apartments are beautiful and staff is nice but the roaches are out of control. I want out. Not worth it.

Not worth the money

We have lived here for almost two years and its not too bad, but not worth the money. Nails sticking out of our carpet, the washing machine is always coming off track and moving on us, carpet stains won't go away, closets off track, very loud neighbors. Some of them in the building by us, had furniture sitting on the balcony they were trying to sell. Many people let their children run wild. When we first moved in, it wasn't so bad. Now, it seems like they will rent to anyone. Teens jumping the fence to get onto the property, people drinking outside of their garages, it's just gotten worse. We would move but with the economy, can't afford to.

Looks great but.....

Looks aren't everything. If you move in here be prepared for what they call as "semi-annual" inspections, which were not. I jhave lived in other apartments and this one has the most inspesctions I have ever seen. So much for your right of quite enjoyment!! I think they just like going through apartments to check in on their residents. For the most part the staff is nice, but there is one in the office that needs some people skills. And when you want to move out, be prepared. If your apartment isn't 100% move in ready for the next person you won't get any of your deposite back! Make sure you findout the paint color and get it in writting and signed by the manager. We were told the color and touched up our apartment and ended up getting charged $100 and told it wasn't the right color. Any repair to the apartment you would be better off doing yourself! For a small rip in the vinyl floor we had to pay $342! When we first moved in there was a trailer that sat around for months that we kept reporting and they seemed to do nothing about. We also had a crappy washer that kept breaking. DON'T MOVE IN TO THESE APARTMENTS OR ANY OTHER CANNON MANAGEMENT PROPERTY!!!

nice place to live

The management is great. Maintenance is fast and efficient. Neighbors are nice, decent people. As far as apartments go, this is top of the line. I would stay away from Sage Canyon next door though. Seems like it's high crime with questionable characters residing there. For that I blame their management. Glad I picked Portofino!!

Overall, a great place to live!

I've lived here for 6 months and so far there have been no major problems. Little things like being close to Rancho California Rd bring in a lot of traffic noise, and maybe loud stereo systems by some tenants but other than that, the staff is friendly, apartment is very clean and neighborhood is nice. I would try to stay away from the side that is shared with Sage Canyon apartments though. It seems like there are always cops there and helicopters with search lights. Kinda scary.
