Leased Through a Virtual Tour. Given a Different Unit.

I rented this apartment based on a virtual tour and was then given a different unit, two floors below the one I had been shown. Instead of a clear view, I had windows and offices. That set the tone for the entire experience. From move-in, there were serious problems with the apartment and very little meaningful assistance. To be clear, this mainly is a student-building. This nobody tells you. You will be treated like that. Apartments are dated and reports ignored The HVAC was extremely loud, around 70 dB, and the handyman decided that nothing should be done because "other residents didn't complain about theirs". The kitchen was not functioning at all when I moved in, they had to order a new one (I wonder why was not tested before I moved in). The dishwasher did not clean properly, and the washing machine is so old and harsh that it damaged clothes. What is most disappointing is that this is a Bozzuto building, where you expect a certain standard of management and resident care. Instead, the experience has felt impersonal and poorly run. The front desk is often empty, communication to residents is frequently negative or scolding, and basic courtesy is lacking. Staff do not seem to know residents, and the atmosphere is closer to a transient student building than a professionally managed residence. With the exception of Iris, who was the only staff member who asked for my name and actually called me by it The core issue is trust. If you lease an apartment based on one representation and then move into another, and the apartment itself has unresolved problems from the start, everything else becomes harder to overlook. I would not rent here again

Fantastic Building location

The new building manager, Daniel Barge, has created a living environment beholding the Bozzuto family values! New renters will be pleasantly welcomed with efficient and prompt assistance through the entire process of lease signing, move in assistance, and concierge service supreme! While there is construction around the Newseum Residences for the new Johns Hopkins for their graduate programs, Clark Construction could not be more helpful stating, "The residents come first". Daniel and his team are rocking customer service off the charts! Well done, Daniel!

Sad management team that seems to deliberately seek to undermine other staff members and ignore residents. I enjoy my neighbors, but I do not know if I can justify paying so much for such a subpar experience for yet another lease term. Without Felicia working here, there's no point in staying. The experience as a resident has gone down the drain since Felicia was fired by management. There are suspect management practices that have long gone ignored by Bozzuto from the top down.

Everyone has been so nice and welcoming. I feel like a lot of the staff know who I am. I love that I can walk to and from work. I love the roof top for meditation purposes. The 2nd floor amenities are great and always maintained well.

A great short-term apartment option! Location is fantastic but apartments are arguably overpriced for their size and the quality of fixtures. That being said, I would definitely recommend Newseum for anyone new to DC who is looking for a convenient short-term rental.

The staff at the Newseum Residences are the gem of the property. I've always had great interactions with anyone who works there, even the temps that come in from time to time. The building has many wonderful amenities--the roof is hard to beat--and it's a clean, perfectly central spot. I don't love Penn Quarter as a place to live because it lacks a neighborhood feel, but the location was great for me to use for a year in DC.

It is a beautiful apartment building with an impeccable location, great sense of community, and excellent staff. The building has a wonderful amenities and frequent events. Also, the rooftop view is quite possibly the best in the city.

it's been a mixed experience. Best feature the roof top. The proximity to the metro is great and the location to sites is very good. Overall, it feels more like a hotel than a community from a living experience. It feels a little like a hotel, with a few "long term stays".

Great staff. Well maintained. Modern, clean apartments in a terrific location. Common areas are spectacular and resident activities are a bonus. Makes the community feel like home and family. Closeness to several metro stops is another huge plus. I love to run and this property gives me access to great routes. No need for the small but relatively fully equipped fitness room.
