Very happy
I moved in about 1 year ago and have not had any issues to speak of. Sure I hear my neighbors, but I have never lived in an apartment where I didn't hear my neighbors!! This place is unmatched on amenities and service. Whenever I need work done in my apartment the maintenance guys are "Johnny on the Spot". The car wash is incredible, like nothing I've ever seen at a rental community. The ladies in the office are amazing (good looking as heck too) and they always ask me how is everything in my apartment and how am I doing, etc... Hey, no complaints here..only compliments.

Some good, some bad
I am not a college student, but a professional. As in all places, there is good and bad. The difference is "what" can be done about it, and the "willingness" of the staff to make things right. Yes, the noise from college students partying, slamming doors, blasting music is annoying. Yes, you can even hear someone using the bathroom in the middle of the night. Yes, you can hear TV's, phone conversations, dishwashers and washer driers. But can that be fixed now? No. I choose to simply call the police each and every time these students don't understand the concept that their rights end where others begin. If I can hear it in my unit, you are violating my rights. The staff has the obligation and responsibility to notify these tenants that they are preventing the peaceful enjoyment of others. I do not know if they do or not. I have called for maintenance several times, and each and every time they have come out quickly and were extremely polite. I would have absolutely nothing negative to say about the maintenance people at all. They are friendly and courteous. Honesty is the Best Policy
If we were being honest we would say the pool is spectacular. We would say the grounds are beautiful. We would say the gym is cool. We would say the office staff puts on a lot of events for the residents. BUT.... If we were being honest we would say the walls are paper thin. We would say the fixtures are cheap. We would say that the apartments were not built well. We would say that management needs to be sent to some classes (and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way). We would say that their is a lot of partying going on and it is disruptive. Since I spend a lot of time inside my apartment, I would be honest in saying that having a peaceful place to live is what is important to me. I have seen apartments with 80 to 90% good ratings and hardly any No's, so that proves that not everyone comes on here to complain. Office staff should not have to ask people to write reviews. I am just simply being honest.

I am proud to live at North Beach
I moved into North Beach about a year ago and I have been very happy the entire time. I don't know why people are saying negative things...I certainly have not had that experience. The pool is awesome and I love having my sister and her daughter come over to hang out. They live in JGCC but we prefer to hang at the pool at North Beach. The only thing I would change it I wish they would let you rent out the clubhouse, but I can understand that is not easy for them since they are always open to show the apartments for rent. Anyway, the place is great and I just wanted to say something good since the leasing agent told me about this site.

Nothing short of HORRIBLE
The people running this "apartment complex" (should be called PARTY central) are morons. They can't think outside the box, they don't care about the RENTER, only the people who own the property and only want to PLEASE THEM. If you're unhappy about something, sorry, you're SCREWED. Seriously. The "Security gate" never works... The maintenance staff is RUDE and slow to help you if you need anything. Everything is cheaply made, and falls apart fast (with no one to help you fix it!!!) No where to park, because all the kids are here from UNF. Loud loud loud both in your "home" and outside from college kids screaming and carrying on. All things appear nice on the outside but once you sign that lease you belong to THEM... sign your soul over to the -----! Couldn't wait for our one year to be up.. we're happy in another location and honestly anything is better than them. Look at all the recent reviews and dates... it's obviously staff that is making these false claims of how "great" it is to live there... Ha!! so funny. amazing apartments!
Ive lived at many apartments and this one by far is the best. i love the appearance, its always quiet, the pool is amazing, and they really keep up with the property there. I especially love the staff, they work so hard to keep the residents happy and everything up and running. I have had an amazing experience at this property so far (:

No Rest Guaranteed
This place truly does look amazing from the outside.. The landscaping is always in top notch shape along with the pool. The staff has very high turnover all the way from the leasing agents up to the top brass. There is never any continuity in what happens or what is said with the staff. When it comes to the apartments the lay outs are great but that is it. It appears they used the most discounted fixtures they could find then had a half sober person to hang them. The walls are so thin I could hear people all around me talking, watching TV, playing with their kids, dogs barking, and even using the bathroom. Being so close to UNF there are a tremendous amount of kids that live here and PARTY here. Make sure before you lease you drive through at different times of day to check it out.. Don t worry the gate is usually broken so you shouldn t have a problem getting in. I hope this helps whoever is reading it to make an informed decision...

Resort-style living at its best!
I've lived at North Beach on Kernan for over 2 years and my experience here has been nothing short of spectacular. The leasing office staff is very friendly and courteous. They are quick to respond to and accomodate the needs of the residents. Although I seldome need the use of maintenance in my apartment, any time I've needed them their response has been timely and the problem fixed correctly the first time. A one convenient feature of this complex is that you can go to their website and submit work orders for any maintenance issues and set up payment of your rent. The property facilities are top notch and are meticulously maintained. It is evident that the staff genuinely care about the property and it's residents and are consistently improving their services.

Cool
I have been reading the reviews as they pop up in my email. I want to make sure I do my part in supporting the community. I love the place. Maintenance is great. Chicks in the office are always nice. Place is new. Proud to have dates come over (which is often). I am NEVER leaving this place.

Top-notch Community!
I spent quite a bit of time looking for an apartment in Jacksonville. I viewed over a dozen different apartment complexes before looking in North Beach on Kernan. The leasing agents were very professional and friendly, often staying late to accommodate my busy schedule. They were very helpful throughout the whole process, including after move-in. They went to great length to make sure I was happy with my apartment. Both Tracy and Meredith were awesome! Also, the head of maintenance, Jimmy, was very pleasant and helpful taking care of some last minute items when I was getting settled in. He took time to meet with me, and make sure I knew all the features in the apartment, and make sure I no problems with anything there. The location is fantastic. You can get to the beach very easily, and any part of town is accessible by getting out to one of the nearby main roads. It is very enjoyable in this complex. It is a gated community and has on-site security, so it is very safe. Lots of amenities to enjoy to. The people are friendly, and it has very laid-back atmosphere. I have no issues here, like the staff.
I have been here for about 2 years now and the place is great. I like the people that work there, and they are always doing fun stuff, parties and get togethers, etc.. Until I'm ready to buy a house, I have no intention of moving. The staff has changed over a bit since I've been here, but honestly I think the people here now are better, so I'm not complaining!

Don't believe the hype!
Yes, the property is beautiful and the floor plans are great. The apartments are very spacious, the amenities are great, but don't believe the hype. Once they have you locked in, you will find the the walls are so thin that it is unbelievable. You can hear everything that goes on with your neighbors. The office staff is only nice and professional when you first move in, but you will soon see thieir true colors. You need to read all the reviews and not just from people who just moved in. I was fooled at first as well.

A DREAM COME TRUE
I visited North Beach about a month ago. I had been apartment hunting for a week and never expected to see such an amazing community! When you are touring communities, really most all of them are the same....nice clubhouse, decent amenities, acceptable floor plan layout etc. This was not the case with North Beach. I was truly blown away. Their clubhouse was the first part of the introduction to the community that took my breath away. There is a waterfall in the office! How cool is that?! It is very clean, and very large. Even still, very inviting. The lady that we worked with, Meredith, greeted us immediately. Still, I was unable to give HER attention right away, as I was mesmerized with the clubhouse. She then took us on a tour through the Cyber Cafe and out to the pool. The only comparable I could give to describe North Beach, would be that compared to a high end luxury resort. So, basically, like me, you could live in a resort!! Wouldn't Live Anywhere Else.
I've been a resident here now for almost two years and I aboslutely love it. The landscaping is beautiful and the ammenities are incredible. The leasing and maintenance staff are both really friendly and always very helpful. I recommend this property to anyone looking for a new place to call home. :-)

No peace!
The peoperty itself is maintained well and has beautiful landscaping. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from any surrounding apartments. You can hear doors close and any activity in the hallways. The fixtures are poorly made and cheap(especially the toilets). As far as the office staff, the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Several of them are nice; however, they do not communicate with each other and you can be given several different answers from several different people, and in the end "no one knows what you are talking about." Very frustrating!!! Because the property is down from UNF, it is like living in a college dormitory. A lot of the tenants are constantly partying, hanging in the hallways, and displaying druken and rude behaivor. Do a drive through at about 2-4 am on a Friday or Saturday. If you desire a peaceful and quiet environment, this is not the place for you. If you desire partying and loudness, and an unprofessional office staff, this is your heart's desire!

Glad I went with my gut instead of believing all the reviews at first!
I moved in two weekends ago and I was aprehensive at first because of the older reviews not being stellar. I look at reviews on everything before I buy it or visit it or what whatever. Anyway, I really really liked North Beach and the people in the office were sooo much nicer than the people at every other apartment I looked at. I was confused why one other place I looked at had higher ratings and I even asked for a discount off rent just because the rating of NB was lower than the other place I was thinking about (it didn't work by the way, lol). The manager told me that if they don't encourage people that are happy with the apartments to go to this web site to type good things, then only the complainers get heard. Makes sense!! (She actually said it a little more eloquently than that, but I got her point.) So here I am, a person that has actually taken a few minutes out of my day to say something nice!! I looked at a lot of places and.....
This was really the nicest place. I moved in a few months ago and I am very pleased with everything. They have plenty to do, so I don't know what the last person is talking about. They even have a putting green (I'll admit I don't use that), but I did try out the horse shoe pit. The people that work there are very nice, and they are always busy showing people apartments, but they always seem to ba able to help me out when I come in to use the tanning bed. They do a lot of fun activities too. I don't have any regrets moving here and I love having people over to show the place off.

From a renter's point of view
Well I moved here in Oct,2011 and thought i would give a review of the apartment complex. first thing i have noticed they never have enough help in the office since i moved here, I go down and get coffee every day and them girls are running around like crazy. I think all the higher up people should take a minute and realize if you all would hire more people for the office you would have more tenants renting. And it would great if there was a pool table in that emtpy room that no one uses, at least there would be something to do here.and yes the walls are paper thin here.. The grounds are very nice here and why the gate because people just park to the side at night and wait for someone to come in.

Life at North Beach
While I have noted that others seem to speak poorly of this apartment community, I have a quite a different opinion. Obviously living in an apartment community comes with its share of difficulty at times but as a whole, but my experience has been that the staff has always been helpful, professional and genuinely friendly. There has been turnover, but I know they have tried their best to make sure service requests and complaints are addressed in a timely manner. I enjoy the amenities that are offered and that they make sure the grounds are kept in pristine condition.

Very nice based on appearance ONLY!
The staff are very deceiving...a bunch of females who are not the most professionally trained. The walls are paper thin as previously mentioned (so true). Tons of students live here which brings the quality of life down for working professionals. Don't be fooled by the looks. These reviews are very on point.

Hope this place rots and falls off the map!!!
Where to start? I don't even know. This apartment complex is run by a bunch of monkeys. Yes, you heard me. They don't know how to THINK and they treat their tenants like trash. After looking at the property and thinking how great it is, do not be fooled!! Yes, it looks beautiful The model they show you seems to be sooo nice BUT do not let the appearances of this place deceive you. Once you sign that lease, you. are. doomed!!! DOOMED. That was the longest most horrible year of my life! When we first moved in, the dishwasher didn't work. It took them about 3 weeks before maintenance came in to fix it. After being so happy about having a working appliance that was supposed to be part of the LEASE I SIGNED, they scratched the (fake) wood floors in my kitchen! Later they tried to accuse ME of doing this!! Um, NO!! They make sure you pay for EVERYTHING! God forbid I come after them for a couple dollars off my monthly rate because I didn't have my dishwasher. DO NOT LIVE HERE
The actual apartments are nice and new; but the outside is full of bugs because of the lake. I have bugs crawling in all of the time. I had to beg them to come power wash my door and hallway that was covered in spider webs and eggs. More importantly, the property manager and the way things are run are NOT acceptable. You would think that eventually an apartment complex would "get it right," but do not look for it here. They were more than fine with me paying EXTRA signing a year lease on the 3rd floor facing the lake knowing I had a small dog. There was an issue with my neighbor, who lives in a fantasy world that you will never hear your neighbors in an apartment, of when my dog jumped off the couch and onto the floor creating the ONLY noise that exists in my apartment (I work 9-5, don't throw parties, always conscious of walking hard, etc.). There response to the situation was "you shouldn't have lived on the 3rd floor if you have a pet." WHAT? Where was this when I signed the lease and paid the pet deposit? Don't judge a book by it's cover!
This is a college community and people with families should be told this before they sign a lease. These students are rude and distructive. I can't believe they are the future of this country. We put up with girls coming in and out of of our neighbors apt. all night and get to listen to their adult pleasures all night through our paper thin walls. Wow ain't that great. You can swim in a pool that is dirty and also experienced their pleasures. They show no shame in letting you see this activity.The cursing is unreal and of course the drinking goes with it. I want my children exposed to that! don't you? people don't clean up after their pets and they are very large and many. It seems there is no longer any security here or they hide very well. people are at the pool all hours and are very loud and drunk. The police are here constantly. If things don't get in control this is one person who will not be renewing a lease and will not be recommending this place to anyone. Taser Guns
Had a resident who tried to use their taser on us and when reported to management, there was no punishment done for that person. I guess having neighbors threatening others is common and management can care less. When asked to be moved to another apartment, management never got back to me in a timely manner which forced me to move out and find another place to live.
