Lease Renewal Help...
Blonde lady helped us. Can't remember her name opposite Lisa. But she was very helpful in helping us sign our lease renewal. Thank you so much!! Me and my Sisters were grateful it literally took 5 minutes. Busy times.

Horrible place to live!!!!!
They would not work with us on paying our rent, I had a medical procedure that was done that required my husband to take time off work to care for me, which meant no income for a few weeks. On top of other life things happening. When we asked if we could make weekly payments to pay the rent, they told us nope, full payment or nothing at all. They were refusing to allow us the get the rest of our things. Threw EVERYTHING I OWNED in the dumpster after I told them I was going to speak to an attorney for them not allowing me to pick up the remainder of my items. They on purpose damaged everything so I was unable to recover anything. My family photos EVERYTHING. and want to charge me 5k for trash.. THAT WAS NOT TRASH. THAT WAS 32 YEARS OF MY LIFE AND HARD WORK DAMAGED BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE ARE RACIST JERKS WHO THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. THEY PUT US OUT. WE HAVE KIDS LIVING WITH US. SO WE ARE NOW SLEEPING IN THE CAR WITH COLD WEATHER APPROACHING, I CANT HELP THAT I HAVE MEDICAL PROBLEMS.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.. I do not even know where to begin.. I will begin with the apartments themselves.. when you enter the building it smells like smoke.. not just sometimes ALL the time and not just cigarette smoke.. weed as well & the smell is so strong that it will seep into your apartment. I am never one to care about what others do but when my apartment smells like weed and i walk out of my apartment into a building that smells like weed it bothers me. inside the units its all dated, grimy, and just not good. there is no assigned parking so some days id have to park far from my unit and walk while people without parking tags took all the spots. the laundry is AWFUL.. there is one washer and one dryer for everyone in the building.. you also have to pay almost $2 to wash and almost $2 to dry.. that SUCKS. the area where the washer and dryers are kept are always unclean and disgusting. the machines themselves are dirty and caked with nasty stuff (i saw stuff because i have never seen anything like it.. dont know what it is and honestly dont even want to). Another thing.. the walls, floors, and ceiling are so thin you can hear everything and no one is considerate of the neighbors. next ill talk about the area... while living here there were 2 shootings and a stabbing right across the street. if you dont like to be woken up at 1am to the sound of gun shots and sirens this is not the place or you. this is no area to raise a child.. it is increasingly dangerous. now ill talk about the management........... Stephanie was nice.. she was pleasant to deal with most of the time. Becky however.... was rude at all times. her attitude comes across rude, she never wants to explain things and makes you think they are going to scam you.. which they do and ill talk about that later. they are never understanding and are unwilling to help. they also never take complaints or issues seriously. i was verbally assaulted... never got taken care of (this happened at LEAST 3 times) smell of weed being so strong it would seep into my apartment.. never addressed. oh and the "24 hour maintenance" is a JOKE. never fixed anything i reported in my time living there (1 year) oh and the rent is OUTRAGEOUS for what you get.. i have lived in nicer apartments for LESS. thats insane. also got a wack charge for something that I didnt break... they said it was "damage"...... bs. they will also enter your apartment every 3 months. i had items come up missing after every "inspection" i have NEVER in my years of renting had a building inspect my unit because they felt like it every 3 months. also during inspections you must leave your sliding door unlocked.. for the entire week. scam.. when you move out they charge you for everything they want renovated even if it wasnt broken or damaged.. even if remained unchanged from the time you moved in. messed up.. i know. lastly i was to advise whoever is reading this to NOT move in here... if you have any respect for yourself just dont move in.. this is BY FAR the WORST place i have ever lived and i have lived many places. read the reviews and LISTEN to them.. i didnt and i regret it more than i can explain there is a reason they cant hit 3/5 stars even.. save yourself the heartache and fear and dont live here.

Probably one of the worst complexes to live in around Decatur. The office staff are condescending, the maintenence people seemingly barge into your apartment with no notice, and when they do give you notice they're already in you're apartment. A majority of the time when you walk into the complex its like walking into a Snoop Dogg concert because of the weed smell. Don't let anyone talk you into moving here it sucks. In three months two people were shot across the street, and there's supposed to be a night monitor driving around to make sure things are safe and multiple times my car was broken into.

WORLDS WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX? YES. I MOVED HERE FROM SOUTHERN ILLNOIS IN FEB. AND SEEN THIS PARTICUALAR APT COMPLEX, IT WAS CLOSE TO WORK AND RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM MY MOTHERS HOUSE. IMMIDIATELY AFTER MOVING IN I RELIZED 2 BURNERS ON MY STOVE DID NOT WORK, THE FRIDGE WOULD FREEZE EVERYTHING, AND THERE WAS THE SMELL OF CAT PEE IN THE CORNER OF MY BEDROOM (EASILY FIXED WITH CLEANER, BUT STILL) I HAD A NEIGHBOR CONSTANTLY TRYING TO SELL ME JUNK OUT AND IT ALWAYS SMELLED LIKE A GIANT MARIJUANA PLANT AND WAS SO POTENT THAT IT FILLED THE AIR WITH "POT FOG" I FELT LIKE I GOT SECOND HAND HIGH JUST WALKING FROM THE ENTERANCE WAY TO MY PERSONAL ENTERY WAY...AT ONE POINT I CAME HOME AND THE ENTIRE APT BUILDING SMELLED LIKE A SEWER HAD BUSTED AND IT MADE ME GAG. I CONTACTED THE OFFICE ABOUT THE SITUATION AND NOTHING WAS EVER DONE ABOUT IT. ALL THE SCREENS TO THE WINDOWS FELL OUT AND NO ONE CAME TO REPLACE THEM, EVEN AFTER I CALLED 6 TIMES ABOUT IT. THE A/C UNIT LEAKED ONTO MY CARPET. THERE WAS MOLD IN THE CLOSETS AND AT ONE POINT MY BATHROOM WAS "RAINING" (SOMEONE ABOVE ME LEFT THEIR BATH TUB RUNNING AND IT WAS POURING INTO MY CEILING) THE CEILING WAS BOWING AND LOOKING LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO CAVE IN... I CALLED AND IT TOOK THE MAINTENENCE MAN 1 1/2 HRS TO COME...AND EVEN THEN HE DIDNT EVEN FIX THE ISSUE AND LEFT THE CEILING CAVING IN...NEEDLESS TO SAY I MOVED 2 WEEKS LATER DUE TO THE GOD AWFUL MAINTENENCE STAFF WHO ALSO WERE RUDE AND ONE OF WHICH DIDNT EVEN KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING MY APT. (THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AND LUCKILY I WAS ONLY MAKING SUPPER AND NOT IN THE SHOWER OR SLEEPING) OH AND I ALSO GOT CONTINUOUS NOTICES ABOUT LITTERING IN THE PARKING LOT, WHEN I DO NOT LITTER...SO I WAS DUMBFOUNDED WHEN I GOT A "POSSIBLE EVICTION NOTICE IF NOT CORRECTED" ON MY DOOR NOT ONCE BUT TWICE..ALSO THE STAFFING WAS NICE AT FIRST BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS THEY WERE NOT VERY HELPFUL AND COULD CARE LESS About anything...THE NEIGHBORS WERE HORRIBLY NOISEY AND IT WAS VERY "------" I WOULD NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS GO BACK....WORST COMPLEX EVER!!!

The studio we lived in was ok- Becky, Stephanie....They SEEMED nice at first....Turned out that Becky SEEMED to be somewhat two faced & snotty...."No deposit because you HAVE good credit"- sounds GREAT, right? Just WAIT until you move OUT. We moved due to a job transfer....READ your LEASE, better yet, HAVE A LAWYER READ YOUR LEASE BEFORE YOU EVER SIGN IT! It's TRICKY! Regardless of WHAT Becky SAYS, the LEASE is LEGAL & BINDING. She "tricked" us....into believing it was OK to move....had we KNOWN that after just a few months there, we were going to have to PAY THEM $325. PAINTING fee, plus another month's rent of nearly $700. we would have chosen NOT to EAT over a THOUSAND DOLLARS.....Balance due at move out- ZERO. Then a few WEEKS later, they send the BILL with "fees"- We truly do NOT think there was ANY painting done....Becky will NOT name the painting "contractor"- of course, it's probably HER....pocketing the $325. The walls were NOT in need of painting...They were JUST painted before we moved in, AND- we left the apartment SPOTLESS. We certainly would NOT have worked SO hard on the cleaning, etc had we KNOWN we were going to paying these "FEES"-SO Kudos to her...NICE job there. That WAS a slick move on HER part! The Manangement Co that these "LADIES" work for is Dominion Realty out of Indiana. Contact number THERE is 317-271-8888. IF you have a complaint, call THAT number! Becky WORKS FOR THEM. Becky does not give out that info at MOVE OUT time, either....with GOOD reason NOT to. The contact number she gave my room mate was 317-777-8888. We always got an answer machine in a man's voice saying "I'm not by my phone, leave a message, I'll call you back." Suspicious? We thought so. We found the company owner's number all by ourselves. We also found that "Moundford Terrace" in Decatur has taken at LEAST 292 different cases to court since 1989 I believe....that AVERAGES to 12 EVERY year for 23 years....seems excessive, doesn't it? We think so. At this point in time, we are SAVING our good credit. It's NOT over until the fat lady sings....and her voice is getting warmed up quite well as IO write this. Honestly, I don't know how some people can SLEEP at night. Have they NO conscience? Right is right, & wrong is wrong. They will NOT even meet you half way. Pretty self serving in my very humble opinion. Just be aware....that's all....of what you MAY get yourself into. IF it SEEMS to good to be true, it definitely IS!

I've lived at this complex for a number of years. The staff has always been courteous & great in assisting with any questions I had, or maintenance that needed tending to. They have an on-site in-ground pool & playground for the kids, plus they just added a workout area & internet cafe in the rental office. I'm not aware of any other apartment complexes in town that are striving to bring their residents these kinds of amenities, not to mention that these are some of the most affordable apartments in town. In my opinion, two thumbs WAY up.

don't be duped
Moundford Terrace is one of the worst apartment complexes! There repairs are done the cheapest way possible, they have a huge field and blacktop but you are not allowed to use it for anything! Apparently its only for looking at, you can let your kids play any normal activities that kids play such as baseball, football basketball or volleyball so there is absolutely nothing for the kids to do. They have an old broken down swing set and a sandbox and thats all the kids are allowed to do, this is by far one of the worst apartment complexes in town

if you are thinking of moving MTA, Please dont move. if you want to get robbed and leave in scary atmosphere everytime you can move or if you are theif this is right place you can move in and rob everybody especailly international people, because management is worst as worst and they are care less and leaches for your money. Bottom line never ever move this place. recent update is with 45 days 5 burglary in 5 3 are ------- and 1 white and 1 african america. so if you fall any of the catergory and moved in this hole, then your TV, laptop, Apple TV, cam recorder, valet will be gone sooner or later. having said all this, management is dirty/careless/idiot/stupid people i wish i could all the bad words for management but it is social view so i'm holding myself.

If you're thinking of moving in...don't. They lost my rent check and claimed that I hadn't turned it in and therefore had to pay a late fee. The manager, Becky, claimed no responsibility whatsoever. I've been paying for a year and a half on time and she wouldn't even credit me the late fee. She was extremely rude and incompetent about the entire situation. She claimed that since I didn't physically bring it in (I put it in the drop box) it wasn't her problem. They close at 5...that's when I get off work. I cannot go inside. I think she forgot WE are the ones paying HER not the other way around. Our apartment also flooded, which I understood. But they never came and cleaned out the water damage it did to the floors, not to mention our furniture. I repeatedly called them and asked for maintenance. They never came. They tried to charge us for not weed waking our tiny backyard. $35! Saying they gave us a notice to trim the weeds (they never did). On top of that. It wasn't overgrown! Overall, I have to deal with stupid people on a daily basis. They are unprofessional, rude, and will find any way they can NOT to assume responsibility. I can't wait to move.

Moundford Terrace Living
Don't rent at this place! I tried to work with their Management and all they did was shove a dagger into my chest. The place was not clean, the pool was never available and the rent was always inching up past where reasonableness would prevail. Renting at Moundford Terrace was the WORST thing that I have ever did. Don't make the same mistake yourself. Always read the fine print with these people. Do yourself a favor, don't rent here.

Worst place I have ever rented anywhere even though it was the most expensive.
Repairs were not completed on my move in date. Some repairs were never completed during the year that I lived there. I did not want to stay for my lease but did not want to wind up in court over it. My townhouse was not cleaned before I moved in. There were lots of bugs and spiders. The tile and tub in the bathroom had been painted and peeled every time I took a shower. The lock broke on my back door and it took them a month to fix it. When the maintenance crew finally did come to my apartment, they unlocked the front door without even knocking. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless I wanted to get my revenge on them. I could not believe that after my one horrible year, they tried to raise the rent. It was already way overpriced.

Never move there
I went looking for an apartment, so i stopped by moundford terrace apartments. At first glance they seem nice. After paying the $75 application fee (which is a rip off by the way), they showed me some apartments, and as soon as we walked in the door they stunk!! walked up to the apartment and the first thing i noticed is how dirty they were! the carpet was nasty, the apartment staff was horrible. they told me to pay off a old bill and never gave a time frame, so i made a payment towards the old bill, with the last $ to my name, then the apartment management called and said it had to be all paid now or i will not qualify for the apartment! So I lost the $75 I lost all the money i paid the old bill, and am now out of money and out of my old house! Thanks Moundford Terrace!

Shady Dealings
There are worse places to live but this one is on the lower end of the spectrum. Not a very good neighborhood. There's a dent in my BMW from what looks like someone punching my car...or maybe just a cardoor that happened to somehow not scratch the paint? I dunno, but my neighbors were all shady, asking to borrow money all the time. The pool is cute. A 16-yr-old boy runs the sign-in clipboard and pretends to do work. Is that where a portion of my rent is going? Anyway, I had a 2-bedroom sublevel and it was decently sized with minimal noise(not counting the loud subwoofers coming from passing cars). Mostly uneventful except that my roommate said someone offered to sell him cocaine right on our front stoop. But what do you expect? This is Decatur, IL. My gripe is with management charging me an extra month's rent. During my last month of living there, they sent me a notice that stated I had to renew my lease or they would assume I was just going to move out. I was just going to move out so I contacted them a week prior to my moving out to let them know it was ready for a final walkthrough. They said it would be ok for me to just leave my keys with them and not walk through. This was fine by me. My cat had ruined the blinds and I cleaned fairly well so I figured I'd get a little bit back on the deposit and call it a done deal. Turns out I didn't get anything back on the deposit. That's fine. It was only a couple hundred bucks if I remember correctly and I know they steam clean the carpets anyway. I got a letter a month later stating I owed them another month's rent "because I didn't let them know within a month of my lease ending that I was moving." When I told them that their previous letter says they'll assume I'm moving, they said they'd get back to me. When they called back later, they stated I didn't pay for my final month on the lease(which was BS) so I told them to get me proof(I had thrown away my lease and the letter they had sent me so I had nothing). Instead of getting me proof, I got a collections letter and my awesome credit score is now reduced. I refuse to pay this bill and $540 isn't worth calling a lawyer over so I'm stuck with damaged credit because the management decided to pull a fast one on me. The end.

Stank worse than a cigar bar
This building was very old and horrible with regards to cigarette smoke wafting from one apartment to the next. 3 AM, 7 PM, whatever, it didn't matter, if my neighbor was smoking, I was smelling it, THICKLY. I told this to management and all they did was install a seal on my front door, yeah, like that helps the ventilation system. Kept insisting "it shouldn't come into your apartment." THEN WHY THE HELL AM I STANDING HERE IN FRONT OF YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT IT, YOU DUMBASSES!! And after I paid those greedy bastards two months rent to break the lease to leave their dumphole of a building they wanted me to pay for painting of the unit. Yeah, right, those freaking walls were spotless, and you guys can jump off a cliff all I give a damn. I hope somebody condemns your worthless buildings, and if I ever get time to, I'm reporting your unlivable units to the Departments of Health and Housing!

Keep Looking
Maintenance is a total joke. I brought several serious problems to their attention, which were very rarely fixed. They would never come out when they said they would (not even on the same day). It was hard to get them to come out at all until a problem would go from bad to worse. Loud "party down" neighbors that go all night every night are constant nuisance as well. Spare yourself the headaches and pass this place up.

Good place to live
I currently live at Moundford Terrace Apartments and have just re-signed my lease after living here for a year. The rent is affordable. The increase in your rent yearly is VERY reasonable. The maintanence staff is VERY quick to fix anything wrong in your apartment or building. The cleaning person could come around more often to clean the buildings more but they are not super dirty though. The office staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The keep the grounds clean around the complex overall, although, they could use more garbage bins in more places on the grounds. But overall, I would highly recommend Moundford Terrace as a place to live. They have the few drawbacks as listed above but what apartment complex is perfect?

a nice place to live
I have live at these apartments for 2 years, the staff is very nice and helpfull, you can get a problem resovaled with in 24 hours. The repair staff try to work with you and take care of any problems, I worked nights and they would come and do any work after I got up. The grounds are well keep as well as the pool area. I have not had any problem with the noise from the neighbors around me. If was to move back to Decatur, IL I would come back to this apartment complex. It was very enjoyable.

Mice, Mice, Mice
We lived in a 2 bedroom apt. for 4 mos. We had signed a short term lease which was nice. We had to empty our cabinets and closets 2 times during that time for them to spray for bugs. (Everyone in the building did) What a hassle. Then we had mice! I killed 16 in a week! We moved out. (We had planned on staying at least 6 mos. but couldn't take it) Also, in the laundry room I found a teenager with an "ankle bracelet" taking a bike apart. Didn't go down there alone again.

Do NOT Live Here!
We lived in this complex for 1 year.<br><br>The maintenance sucks, all they do is drive fast through all the lots, things never got fixed--I gave up!<br><br>People working in the office have no idea what they are talking about. You will get 2 different stories from both April & Becky. They screwed us over on a refund check we were suppossed to get for over a month & a half after we moved out!! Not to mention neither one is smarter than a box of rocks so go figure.<br><br>Our apartment was in a newer building so it was in okay condition. Very small. But was clean and taken care of. But seemed as if someone was coming in our apt while we were at work--unsure but things were out of place.<br><br>Neighbors very unfriendly and scratched up both our new vehicles by swinging their car doors wide open and hitting ours. Other buildings guests were fighting and throwing beer bottles in our parking lot--had to call police twice--of course didnt show up until after they all had left.<br><br>Had car stereo stolen within the first two weeks we lived there. Small children ride their bikes all over the lots and do not watch for cars--ever. Management does nothing about this.<br><br>Best thing about Moundford---A location and apartment building was mostly quiet. Other than that, would advise anyone to stay away.<br><br>

The management is the worst of all kind. Dont you plan to move in here. I was living in these apts for 2 years and asked for renewal, they told me that my application was rejected. Reason is someone else looking for apt and willing to pay more than what I pay. They give different deals to different persons. <br>Front desk person named April thinks that everybody who come there looking for an apt is a criminal.
