fair enough for its price

we're leasing a 1-BR unit for 469 (we moved in on a special rate) and i think that the price is fair enough for the unit, facilities, service and overall appearance/maintenance. so far, we have not had any major problems. washing machine and dryer would sometimes break down, then it would take about a week or so for maintenance to fix the problem. as for our own unit, i would complain about the old bathroom and draft. the draft is mainly due to the lobby window being left open by other residents. i think they open it when they cook something spicy/pungent. security-wise, i have no complaints. we have not had any trouble with break-ins or anything. i have not heard of our neighbors getting security problems either. a s for the appearance of the unit, nothing special there. plain, but at least our unit is clean and bug-free. no trouble with parking - we have reserved covered parking. if you are not too picky and willing to wait for 1 or so weeks to have maintenance fix stuff, i would recommend this place for you.

DO NOT MOVE IN OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!

You get what you pay for. Living here sucks. Having such a low price really attracts the worst kinds of people, I live on top of this lady who is literally psychotic, I know this because I can hear every conversation or rather screaming matches she has on a daily basis, usually at 4am, but also sporadically throughout the day and evening. She owns a gun, and is on probation. I am SCARED of living here. I have also had bed bugs in my unit, which was a major hassle. Most of the windows are old, and you end up paying through your teeth to basically heat the outdoors. last bill was $900! Please whatever you do, do not be fooled by the nice lawn like one other reviewer wrote. The "security gates" are dumb, the one way entrance and exit is dumb, the office staff during the week M-F (the fat white chick)is rude. Did not have a positive experience living here at all. Walls are paper thin and you can literally hear EVERYTHING from every unit around you. The laundry facility in the basement is a nightmare as well, tiny machines that don't do anything. probably just make your clothes wet and the dryer just turns the wet to damp. RUN AWAY. RUN FAR FAR AWAY! I could not afford to live anywhere else, and do not have the time to move, so those are the only reasons why I have stayed here for so long, otherwise I would have bailed on this place in a heartbeat.

Never move here

I am staying here for last 10 month, I was not so much concerned about the apartment rating before I move in here.Yes I did a big mistake, Tenants living above my apt are making sound 24*7, they are fighting each other , making so much noise..Apt management is not at all concerned about any thing here. They are advertising like it a gated community but the gate will open through out the year..It is as good as it is not there ... Maintenance is pathetic . We complained about the poor heat 5 times. Every time They inspected and said "Every thing alright", but nothing was ok. I had to buy 2 electric heater to survive in this winter. Still heat bill was above 200$ !!!!! Washer and dryers are 30 years old, I put cloths for drying for 2 cycles, still it was wet. Nowadays I am going outside for washing...I would say this is the worst place in detroit to live....

This Place Sucks!

I agree with the person below me! The I had to put plastic up to my windows to keep the cold air out! I have noticed that other people either have plastic or pillows in their widows. It is cheap to live here but you really do get what you pay for. I can hear the people below me walking, watching tv and talking. The dryers suck, parking sucks, and the gates have just been closed after being open for three months! There is no fitness center because every machine is broken. The fat chick in the office is rude as hell! When my lease is up I'm moving. This place sucks!

Pathetic Management

Very rude and horrible management. The 3 floor buildings are old and poorly maintained. Absolute no heat and high bills to be paid to their management. The bill for Dec 2008 was around 280 USD. Management is rude and do not want to hear the issues. The maintenance team are also not efficient. Overall do not recommend this one.

worst apartments i have lived

This apartment is a trap for the people, they give joining concession for the people to attract to this dirty apartments and at the end they add all those concessions in final bill.They dont give fair information to the teneants eigther hide the information or misinform them. I don t see any moral or ethical values in them. They charged me 12 months discount times 12 in my final month bill i.e approx $2000 for vacating one month ahead.

very rude managment (office assistant)

Despite having seen prior review and comments, i moved in for 2 months ago. i was late for paying rent 3 days (due on 3rd, paid 6th), they sent notice of latepayment with 50 dollars and making me default. is there anyway we should complaint to local authorities. the management is very rude. they returned my check and asking me to pay latepayment and rent in the form of money order or cashier check. i asked the lady, who is she, she said she is office assistant. what a rude behaviour with the lady. she doesnt even be courteous to say hi.. they find every reason to make us default and pay back their discount. I wonder how everyone lives..

Attention pls: Don't rent it...

yes it is a really really worst apartment I had ever lived. Its like slavery to live here. They treat us as if they had given home free to us. Clealiness is zero. Lawn is maintained by a team so it looks good but pls don't judge with the lawn. The laundry area is very very unhyginic. On my first visit I failed to notice the laundry. There are lots bugs and flies within the house. I keep the doors and windows shut but I don't how it get inside. Restrooms are very very worst. I still live but I hate this apt. Very soon we are going to move. Pls don't choose this apt mainly if u have a kid. mY WHOLE family became sick after coming here. The maintenence guy's main work is to watch the swimming pool by hiding in the nearby fitness centre. The fitness centre also worst. We need to pay to get the key but machines are not in good condition. They are not safe to workout. The people in the apt office behave rudelyand she won't respond properly.

worst apartment complex staff

the staff response is pathetic... they think as if they are obliging you by leasing you an apartment.... talk in high voice... maintenance is very very poor... they never show up when there is an issue with maintenence... also, you will get bills for gas heating even if you are not in the aprtment for a long time like 2 or 3 months...

I recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for a nice quite place to live. the apartments are very nice the office staff is very helpful and the new manager is very good with the upkeep of the community.

This is a nice apartment complex,the complait that I have is the office staff, they don't care if you have a complaint or problem. They are very selfish. The entry gate never works and I feel you should be buzzed in if you are a visitor anyone can walk up to your door. I really hope the office staff that they have know will no longer be working here soon. They need better customer service... You also have to pay for heat which is ridiculous and expensive.

Worse and Worse

Exterior building lights are forever not functioning, creating a security risk for cars and tenants. So-called security gait regularly breaks down for all 3 1/2 yrs I've been here. Housekeeping of the public areas of buildings (hallways, stairwells, laundry areas, etc.) is practically non-existant. Repairs to broken washing machines are slow and ineffective. Hot water heating pipes freeze solid, every winter, leaving tenants w/out heat. New management can't be trusted

Pathetic Staff.. Poor Response

We lived in Cherry Hill Manor for 18 months. Our general opinion is you get what you paid for. We can't expect better than this for the rent we give. While living there, we did not have any issues except that the area is very famous for lot of property related thefts. But thank god ,we never had any such issues. Maintenace requests were completed on time and the apartment fecilities were worth for the rent we give. Issues started after we vacated due to job relocation. We are still having issues in getting our security deposit back. The response we get for our phone calls are unprofessional like putting the phone on hold and leave it as it is. When we called again and asked why we were put on hold for long time, the response we got was "the person who took the phone left for the day". Imagine that!!!! Now the apartment is charging for the Gas bill through another company. There are some communication issues between the apartment complex and the Gas company and we are left to suffer due to this and we have written a letter to them with all the proofs. Still waiting for response!!!!!

Really Bad Management

They give you good discounts to begin with but are very quick to find a way to say that you have defaulted on some aspect and then take the special discount away. <br>Extremely rude management. Will try to be very nice when you visit for a first look but dont fall for it.

Very Bad apartments...very bad maintenance...

Thew maintenance is very bad. I have been in this apartment for more than 7 years and they never change things. The heating system, the washer dryer, the AC etc breakdown every now and then and they never those inspite of those being very old and inefficient. Just dont look at the price....its not worth saving the money as you lose peace of mind here. Also getting a parking spot has become tough. You shud be really lucky to get a parking spot in front of your apartment. Also the lights are never replaced.

Do not recommend

I currently live in Cherry Hill Manor (unfortunately). I do not recommend living in this apartment because:<br>1. Poor maintanence. Every 3 to 4 weeks the hot water pump breaks down.<br>2. Poor maintanence: This winter we were without heat for 1 days. Fortunately the existing heat in the apartment kept us semi-warm.<br>3. Management SUCKS: Management sucks big time. They will trick you into signing the lease early. They don't even abide by the rules they created. They give extremely abrasive treatment to the tenants. They treat everyone who lives in this apartment as if they are trashy people in Inkster. Theyprobably see their own reflection in the tenants.<br>4. Beware of the old lady called Mary (and her boss) in the leasing office. She will sweet talk you into leasing this apartment. Once you sign the lease you are so stuck!<br>

i am a current resident of cherry hill manor...i will not recommend this apartment for anybody ..we are planninng to move out from here in near future..the reasons for our decision are..<br><br>1. the manager stacy of these apartments is a ruthless idiot..she is very rude while dealing with tenants..i never saw such an irresponsible lady in my life<br>2.recently we found a mouse in our living room...can we stay along with mouses in the house..<br><br><br>so don't ever try to come here..its a horrible place to stay...<br>

I lived at Cherry Hill for two years and never had a problem. My apartment was clean and the price was excellent. The location was great (convenient to many roads I needed to travel on). The staff was always courteous to me as well. My maintenance problems were addressed quickly, too. Try this place, you won't be sorry! <br> <br>

Not recommended really bad management

Guys, <br> <br>Be really careful before signing the lease, The management offers specials for attracting future residents which they(managment) tries to steal from residents after signing the lease saying they have not received the rent on time even after paying the rent on time, This is my practical experience and i have sean the management saying sorry to many residents for falsly sending ´demand for pocession of rent´ documents to residents. <br>The maintainnance sucks, there is no security for the buildings any body can just walk - in and knock your door, like advertising for magazines/news papers/kids´ <br>Fed up with the staff and maintainance.

Tricky management/ Poor Maintenance

Folks, <br> Be careful while signing your lease or you will end up in big trouble. Specials offered are tricky and the management in completely unfair. You will end up loosing BIG if you donot read each and every line before signing the lease. <br> Maintenance sucks. They take atleast 3 weeks to attend a problem. <br> Not recommended.
