Loved living here!

I lived here for about a year, the staff at the office and the maintenance guys are really nice! The maintenance calls I had to make never took long for someone to respond to and they'd come out and fix the problem asap. I never had sound issues or anything with my neighbors. I never had any worries walking to my car or my apartment late at night, nothing! No complaints at whatsoever. In fact I'm 100% set on moving back into these apartments in the next couple months.

great two bedroom floor-plan!!!

Gotta say, we love the two-bedroom floor plan with a walk through closet to the master bath. Also, the private entry is a nice perk so I don't have to smell everyone else's dinner by the time I walk in my door. One downer is no covered parking, and last year the snow-plow guy wasn't very good, but I think they didn't re-hire him this year and the snow removal improved. There is a nice courtyard/park with a playground for little kids if you have them, so you don't have to worry about them running around in the street. Lastly, it is one of the few apartments in the area with a washer and dryer in-unit which for me is very, very important. Oh yeah, I shouldn't forget to mention that we are RIDICULOUSLY close to Meijer! In terms of the people, the staff has always been as good as I could expect. I asked about installing a digital thermostat to help save money in the winter and the maintenance guys came in and installed one for free! Also, when you renew your lease you can sometimes get upgrades to your place, last year we renewed and got a nice ceiling fan installed in our dining area. Most of the folks living here have been nice as well and many people decorate their patios and balcony areas which really makes you feel like you are living in a community. The staff also plan monthly community events such as BBQ's, socials, movie-nights, etc. Occasionally, some children have acted inappropriately so the manager would take down the basketball hoop as a punishment or moved curfew earlier in the night, but this just makes me feel that if there is a problem that they'll try to take care of it as opposed to ignoring it. Overall, its hard to beat living here compared to other places, and I've lived in three other apartments over the years. So, its not perfect but the amenities are what I need from a place to live and the staff will work hard to keep you here year after year.

NOWAY WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

So, after looking through some of the later reviews on here, I have to say that most of the bad ones are absolutely 100% TRUE... If you live by the playground like I did, then you probably have MANY issues with the punk kids that live there on Sect 8 because of lazy parents. I lived there about 4 or 5 years I think, and it became more of a nightmare year after year. The staff tries to set rules like many posters said, but the ------ dont have no rules man. The grounds became worse over the years until I had a giant mud puddle out my back door every spring. This was great for my kids to stomp through all the time..UGH! The kids are rude and dont follow any rules anyways so theres no point in setting any. The parents have no clue what their kids are up to. I think they kick them out all day during the summer and say stay out and leave me alone. I actually had a kid ask me for water one day because his mom locked him out of the house. REDICULOUS. As for the maintanence, they were OK. I had to have them return to my apartment on several occasions to refix things that they were supposed to fix the first time. They just rig everything. The staff acts like they care but the place is becomming too much for them to handle. STAY AWAY.. FAR AWAY...

Great home enviornment an awesome place to live!!!!!!!!

Where do i begin. Lets start with the exciting greeting I heard when calling, I was surprisingly address by the manager linda in saying " Thank you for calling Meadowood Park I can help you " and amazingly they can and they will to the very best of their ability. In entering into there well organized club house facility nothing could have prepared me for the warmeth I recieved when walking into the place. The atmosphere was professional, the office staff was thorough in giving an descriptive veiw of there reasonably priced apartments along with information on services render at Meadowood Park. The office staff provides exceptional customer service in being honest,and properly asses my needs. The entire staff works very hard to accommodate there residence needs. This has truly been my experience thus far as well as what I have seen when staff memebers were taking care of other residence upon my visting the offic. From faxing out and recievable, to package pick up, TO RECOMMENDATION ON GREAT PLACE TO SHOP AND GET DISOUNTS, TO REFERRALS ON WHERE TO SAVE MONEY ON INSURANCE AND APARTMENT FURNITURE, to providing an great selection of dvd's and cds to choose from absolutly no cost to residence. The 24 hour fitness room has excellent work out space with just the right equipment to work on those hard to down sizes places. Meadowood Park also has an great bulk account with cable so basic cable can be included in the rent if desired. All smiles from every staff memeber including the manager herself. You will be greeted by none other than Linda when availabe{manager} along with lisa, jessica, lyanne. There are no dumb questions with this group of wonderfully, talented, creative, positive office representative. You are guaranteed friendly proficiently answered questions. The grounds are well kept and provides great night time lighting. There is plenty of room for childern to explore on the playgrounds. There is also a fabulous childerns program in place for residence to partake in. There is a swimming pool that is well kept and properly managed. There are great outdoor barbeque pitts for that fun in the sun picnic. On summer nights it is a very inviting experience to sit on the balcony enjoying a quiet sunset evening. The service technicians are efficient, well knowledgeable as they go about there job task especially there service technician Chris who is always on the ball!! Services request are always handel promptly. Meadowood park apartment is a perfect fit for a growing family to a well retired senior. My experience here has been like none other, it's like living in a pleasant dream you never want to wake up from. When it comes to exceptional customer service and a well cared for property along with everyone being treated as important as the next person there in no place like Meadowood Park. Most for your money in the area

These are great apartments for the money, nothing fancy but clean, and much better than the ones on Pontiac Trl. Unfortunately they're low cost is bc they are median income housing, and the worse part is they take section 8. A lot of the residents there make it a lifestyle (not help thro a hard time like it should be) and its funny how much people complain about the practically free housing they get- this is coming from a big liberal btw. Anyway, I never had any serious problems, maintenance was always friendly and did their job. The office staff seemed to go above and beyond, and be very organized.

I have to write a review

I normally wouldn't do something like this but this apartment complex is one of the best. I haven't had any problems with other tenants, parking, or anything else. This apartment has everything to offer as far as free fax, copy, and notary. Not to mention the other activities that take place within the complex and its all for free! My children has had the best of times going to monsters club, playing at the park, and the schools. You will be so impressed with your children after they attend the school system in the area. This is a great place to stay!!!

Wonderful place!

My family of 6, has lived in a few different apartment complexes. This one by far is the best one we have been in. The office staff is wonderful, loving, caring, and all around great people. The maintence guys are great! They really know what they are doing. I felt safe letting my kids out to play, I knew they weren't going to be getting into trouble here. The other residents watch out for one another. When we moved here we didn't know we were going to be extending our family. While we lived there we didn't realize what we had there, now that we have moved, we see how much we valued this complex. We loved it here!! And you will too!

Do not move here

Meadowood is a ------ as ------ can be, its like they took a little bit of detroit and droppepd right in wixom, so stay away unless you like roving packs of thugs,bass booming at all hours of the morning,domestic violence,car break ins,the list goes on and on. Ive seen it all in the one short year i lived here,parties that have erupted into battles that spill into the parking lot,drug deals,people just urinating out in the open,trash spidded everywhere in the parking lot,and the management will ignore you when you complain, but they have no problem with their surprise inspections of your unit. Oh and parking is a nightmare!!! i hope you dont mind walking lol and if the car sits for more than three days you get a big orange towing sticker on your window,I KID YOU NOT then you have to go to the main office and plead with the seemingly uneducated broads who seem more interested in bigmacs than running an apartment complex to not get your car towed even though its insured and has plates!!!! makes no sense. If something breaks you might as well fix it yourself,the management will ignore you about that too, its been a year and my fridge is still broken! The groundkeepers are semi literate neandertals who will try to shake you down for beer money for fixing something that shouldnt have needed fixing in the firstplace, and this is fact!! i wish i were making this up. I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for, my advice is spend a little extra money and find a non rent controlled gov subsidised welfare ------ slice of detroit.

was nice until...

The first year we moved in here, summer of 06, it was pretty nice. Spacious for apartment, great setting, great office staff. After the first year (having lived there 3 yrs), all down hill. All the lovely city folk moved in, or "movin on up!" as they would think of it. Some trashy people as well, but also some good ones too. As for it being low income, um Idon't know what you would call "low income" but $725 a month!!?? It had gone up to $776/month by the last lease of our 3rd year. It was fine paying that for us, but I felt for the ones who paid this and really were lower income.(A few of our neighbors were in this bracket and all paid about what we did) The property does have a lot of good things for kids ie. egg hunt, halloween party, v-day party etc. They did a lot of nice things for the residents, I will say that. They had an annual wash your car day where the staff washed your car for free. By law, you are supposed to have a 24 hour notice that maint. was coming in, but no we always got it around 5-6pm the night before they were coming in the next morning. REally bad drafts in the winter time from ALL of the windows and the entry door. Had maint. out several times to fix it but they couldn't do anything about it. Bottom line....if it went back to how it was the FIRST year we lived there, and all of the damn city folk moved back to "da city", I'd move back there, if we hadn't bought our house.

nerver move in the lower unit

don"t do it! consider yourself warned! better than most low or all income rental properties. If you do not receive "income guidelines" do not move here. Poor school selection for minorities. A lot of families are catching on to the "income guidelines" thing.... a little ------ (if you know what I mean....) it is true that the property mgt. will go into your appartment to "inspect". Fun offered to the children but the ------ families make it impossible to enjoy the events and play areas and parking lot. kids club is offered every weekday from 5-6pm but the lady very often and will send children hm. 15-20min early having only arriving 5-10min late. this makes a huge difference in timing during the winter months for school age children.

Life is sweet at Meadowood.

I have lived at Meadowood for 5 years now and have no plans of leaving anytime soon. The office staff is wonderful. The maintanence is great. Have a problem it is solved usually the same day. This is my first apartment experience and I'm afraid to go anywhere else. I have heard stories about apartment living!!! But not here at Meadowood. On just about every holiday they have some kind of get together for the residents. Even on Valentines day, Staff was out at the enterance with a big sign saying we love our residents and handing out candy boxes to every resident that drove in or out. They have monster club for the kids, every week night except Fridays. They have teen night for the teenagers. They have resident appreciation week in May. Every day of that week they do something special for the residents. They have a huge party every July at the pool, which includes a BBQ, Games, a DJ, and prizes. Some prizes as big as $150.00 off your rent. On Halloween they have hayrides and trick or treating. They are the most pleasant apartment community around and trust me I have checked them all. Rent is a little higher than some but, well worth what you pay. You can go down the street and get nothing for only a few dollars less a month. The apartments are huge. 2 and 3 bedrooms have 2 full bathrooms. All of the apartments have walk in closets. Washer and dryer in unit (full size) for a very minimal fee. And discounted basic cable in every unit (optional). The Apartments and grounds are kept very clean and nice. There is alot for the kids to do in the complex and in the surrounding community. They even have free movie rental at the office and the work out room is available 24/7, 365 days a year and that is also free of charge. On our grounds we have grills for resident use. A basketball court, a huge play area that includes a jungle gym and sand volleyball court, and a pool. This place is awesome. I would highly recommend living here!!!!

An Excellent Place to Live

In response to the most recent rating...if you did not like the place why did you stay for 4 years? You could of moved sooner. The best thing about the place is that there are rules. If not, and everyone does there own thing, then you have no control over your complex. As for the children, they must be watched. Go work in an emergency room one night and you would change your mind about safety for children. If the staff shut the basketball court down because of swearing good for them. Children only act how they are taught. Go live in Detroit and Westland where there are no rules. Crime rate in those cities is 100%. I bet if you owned this complex, you would have rules. The staff is the best. Since I have moved in, anything that I have asked for they have attended to. Whoever wrote the bad rating, thank you for moving. We like to live in a nice and safe complex.

This place sucks

I have lived here for about 4 years now. This place sucks. It seems nice and pleasant when you first move in, but that is just a smoke screen. management conducts random searches of your apartment monthly. Just to search through your stuff and be nosey I guess. Apartment break-ins are becoming very common. Car vandalization is now becoming the norm. If you happen to swear in public in front of management, or "the ----'s" as I call them. It's a hundred dollar fine. Kids that ride thier bikes in the street, a hundred dollar fine. They even took the basketball court away from the kids last summer cause one dropped the F bomb, AND gave all thier parents 100 dollar fine. have a broken blind? 100 dollar fine. Park over the curb in winter? 100 dollar fine. If you want to feel like you live in ---- germany, then this is the place to be. And it's way over priced!!!!

THE REAL DEAL MEADOWOOD PARK

I HAVE LIVED AT THE APARTMENTS SINCE JUNE OF 2006. OVERALL I GIVE IT AN HONEST RATING OF 85%. THE REASON WHY IT LACKS 15% IS DUE IN PART TO THE HIGH RENT COST. NOT TO MENTION WASHER AND DRYER AND CABLE WOULD COST YOU AN ADDITIONAL 80 PER MONTH. HOWEVER THEY DUE TAKE SECTION 8 VOUCHERS WHICH ARE A PLUS!! AND THE COMPLEX IS SEPARTED BY ONE, TWO, AND THREE BEDROOM UNITS (I LIVED ON THE 1 BEDROOM SIDE)I DID HAVE ONE FIELD MOUSE BUT I CALLED MAINTANCE AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING AND THEY CAME RIGHT OVER AND CAUGHT IT FOR ME!! NO ROACHES BUT A FEW ANT PROBLEMS. SAFE PLACE SO FAR NO INCIDIENTS.... BUT BEAUTIFUL JOB OF KEEPING THE APARTMENT UP AND DOING GOOD BACKGROUND AND CREDIT CHECKS!!! STAFF IS GREAT AND LINDA IS THE BEST APARTMENT MANAGER EVER!!!!!

Really like it

I've been here for over 3 years and I am happy here. The apts are spacious and clean. I have no drafts from any of my windows. I love having 2 bathrooms. I love the huge walk in closet. I love having a full size washer and dryer. Cable is included in your monthly rent. The girls in the office are so nice. They are always so helpful. I've personally seen them go out of their way to make a resident happy- thanks LeAnne:).Anytime I've needed something fixed its usually done that same day. Maintence is great. The grounds are always looking good. There's a playground right outside my door, great for my kids. The pool is always crystal clear and theres even a pool moniter so it never gets too rowdy. They really do whatever they can to make tenants happy. They always have parties for us with prizes and food for everyone- last year i won $100 off my rent!!! At easter time they have an egg hunt for all the kids! Every summer they have a luau with a dj and bbq and games! On valentines day they were standing at the entrance with a sign that said "we love our residents" and passed out candy hearts to all the tenants as we drove into the complex! I have never lived anywhere like this! Ok now the cons. I havent had much problems here. In the winter the snow removal kinda sucks. i've had issues with some of the kids outside and at the bus stop. Seems like alot of people from the city are moving in. And sometimes these people bring the city with them. I've seen kids roaming around outside all day causing trouble- and their parents are not home. So i would say that some kids lack parental supervision.

love it, sad to have to leave

I've been here for almost a year and unfortunately have to move closer to where I go to school because the commute is too long. I had some weird problems when I moved in but everything was fixed the same day, sometimes with in the hour I reported it! I've lived in a lot of apartments and I've never been treated so well by the staff or had things fixed so fast. The only thing I didn't like was the woman who lives below me who is crazy but you can't really help that. The women in the office are awesome! They've helped me even with things like directions and recomendations of food places and doctors. If you pay your rent early you are entered for $50 off your rent which I actually got one month. There's a washer and dryer which are brand new in my apt. The bedroom is HUGE, and so is the bathroom. I live in the building closest to Grand River and I never hear any traffic. I've lived all over the US and this is by far the best place I've lived. I highly recomend it to anyone. My rent listed includes water, basic cable, washer/dryer, and rent for 2 cats.

I love it here they have a very proffesional staff and the programs they offer for the residents are second to none. Where eles can you go and get a 5day after school program, a wkly teen program, a monthly adult social and yearly holiday parties to celebrate everything from Christmas to Halloween that are so great residents from other communities and surounding sub divisions come to attend. This is a very family oriented community. I wouldnt want to be any place else.

No not worth the price at all! Make sure to Read this if you want to lite a match to your money and be pissed off if you like that idea move here...

Rent is way to high for the living arangements. There is no insulation in this apartment. There are drafts that get in from the sliding door, main door, and all of the windows which are poorly insulated.. That in fact raises your gas prices. The heating in the winter is terrible the apartment is always cold. I thought at first i was getting a good deal awful apartments... There is times you can't even park in front of your own apartment... My washer in the apartment is a piece of ---- when i asked for it to be replaced or fixed they told me it still worked and i was out of luck... The door to the laundry room i finally got six months later after requesting one when installed they striped the wood and just put it up anyway it ended up breaking... I had to flip it and rig it myself... HERE IS THE PART THAT PISSES ME OFF THE WORST... COMCAST AND THE APARTMENT OUR UNDER CONTRACT...YOU HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA 40 BUCKS whih IS part of your RENT agreement TO USE THIS SERVICE. AND IF YOU WANT OTHER SERVICE YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THAT FLAT RATE AS APART OF YOUR RENT agreement...WHAT A JOKE THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE...lISTEN I HAVE A TOP OF THE LINE SAMSUNG TV WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES HD 1080I. I HAVE HAD THEM OUT EIGHT TIMES TO TRY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF OF FREEZING THE ON DEMAND NOT WORKING AND FOR THE HD QUALITY... ON THE EIGHTH TIME THEY CAME OUT THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO REWIRE THE SYSTEM THROUGH THE APARTMENTS AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP CALLING AND COMPLAINING DID FOR EVER NOTHING HAPPENED...

The rules are what make this a safe, quiet, and peaceful place to call home

I have lived at Meadowood Park Apartments for two years. I have read the recent comments and am I appalled that anyone would be upset about a community having rules that keep the residents(adults and children) in line. I have lived at many different apartment communities over the years and I have never found one that could compare to the superior quality of service that I have received at Meadowood Park. The office staff is courteous and attentive, they are always helpful in solving any issues that I might have, the maintenance staff is professional and prompt, and each staff member seems to have a sense of pride and commitment to our community. If you would like to live in a community where rules are in place to ensure the safety and peaceful living of everyone then Meadowood Park is the place to be. If you would like to live in a community where people run reckless and unchecked then go live in Detroit or Westland like the last post stated. Rules are in place for a reason and if you or your children can not follow them, maybe it is good that you move out and go destroy another community.

Don't even go there......

We spent a year there. We thought it was pretty nice, for an apartment, when we moved in, playground out our back door for the kids, decent size, etc. We moved in around early September. Our air conditioning didn't work, our freezer didn't work, and our laundry doors were missing. <br>They fixed the freezer the day after we moved in, but the air conditioning was a different story. They refilled the freon in the unit...within about 2 days, it wasn't working again. So, after maintenance looked at it, he said it must have a freon leak. So, he said they could just keep refilling it. Um....isn't a freon leak BAD? So, there's one issue. <br><br>Never got laundry doors. <br><br>My car got vandalized in late August and around the same time my boyfriend got laid off from his job. So, I used part of our rent money to get the car fixed. I explained this to them, told them we would make it up as quickly as possible. <br>Well, we ended up getting an eviction notice in Sept. We had been talking to the seemingly friendly manager in the office, and she said all was well as long as we paid quickly. So, we came up with all of the money as quickly as possible, called the office, told them we were on our way to go get the rest of the money and come back immediately to pay. They said ok. When we got back, 45 minutes later, there was a bailiff and two women throwing all of our (and our 3 children's) belongings in the mud behind our apartment. They had been waiting for us to leave to go get the money to pay rent. Not only would they not stop ripping our photos off the wall, even though we had the full amount due, they were breaking our dishes, my daughter's 'treasures' and tearing pictures in half that my kids had painted. <br><br>They wouldn't stop doing that until the office told them to stop, so after I called the office, I was told "well, oops. Guess there was some mis-communication. Um....I guess bring the payment up here.". She would not tell them to stop until she had the money in hand, which meant another 20 minutes of our belongings being thrown out our door with no care at all. <br> <br>My daughter's glass figurines her grandmother bought her on her first birthday: smashed (it was placed on the lawn, then a bed was placed on TOP of it)<br><br>all of the pictures my kids painted me for Mother's Day: torn in half<br><br>my grandmother's dishes and wine carafe (also antiques): thrown in a box, then thrown on the lawn and smashed...except for one.<br><br>my daughter's lavender comforter: in a mud puddle UNDER a dresser.....about 6 feet away from the bed it had been on.<br><br>I've read the reviews that said management there is kind and caring. That is a crock. We had made every rent payment until we fell on hard times. We were also told that we would NOT be evicted, because we were paying the rent. We were lied to, and even worse had our belongings obviously destroyed. Plus, all of the dishes and glass they broke was close to a play area. I have no clue how many kids ended up with huge jagged pieces of glass in their bare feet, because we ended up moving, thank God. <br> <br><br>The only good thing that came out of that whole mess was that they FINALLY fixed our air conditioner. And I think they felt guilty for all the grief they caused and gave us back our ENTIRE security deposit.<br><br>We had a few other bad experiences there, our water heater leaking everywhere and then the resulting mildew and mold problem the remainder of our stay because they failed to properly clean the mess up. And a couple others, but this is long enough already.<br><br>I do NOT recommend moving there, unless you are desperate. I know a few other people that live there now, or have lived there, and they have had some pretty bad experiences with the staff there and other things. Although, I hear now that Cathy is out of the office it's a little bit better. <br><br>Parking is ok - as long as nobody has company over. In which case, plan on a walk.<br>Noise level depends on your neighbors. The office never really took care of ANY noise level problems.....or the parties where people vomited over the balcony above us.<br>Grounds are ok. Pretty well-kept. <br>

This is the best place to live!!!!! I have been a resident here for a couple of years and I love it here. My kids always have something to do. They have something for everyone. The staff is always doing stuff for us, whether its holiday parties or serving us breakfast before work, they show their appreciation for us being here. If you want to move somewhere you can be a part of a wonderful community, than this is the place for you to live. If not go to the Village! LOL!

I love it here!

Don't believe everything you hear.

I have lived at this community for many years and I am appauled that anyone would say that this is not a wonderful place to live. When I first moved in everyone, the office staff, maintenance, and other residents, all made me feel like I was at home. If you are looking to move to a community rather than an apartment, then this is the place for you. As for anyone that feels the need to patronize someone elses intelligence, they should take a lood at theirs first. I read your response and you write at an eigth graders writing level. Who's the moron.<br><br>Thanks Meadowood for making this a great place to live!!!!!

well i am staying other year because i love it here the people are so very nice i stop in the office to see all the grils and talk to them, linda well she a angle carlo leeann are to they will stop what they are doing to vist you and take time for a short vist these grils should be award a prize because of what they do, mike well he will fix anything and when he see you he will ask if working if not he will stop by and look at it,and the other men a great to they keep the place up and runing great. i wish i could do something nice for you people you are great

Don't move here

This is the crappiest place to live. The neighboors are idoits the staff are idiots and nothing in the apartment ever works. It always breaks. Then when you call to get it fixed the sigh like its a huge problem. I HATE living here. Can't move til the lease is up!
