This place sucks......
I have lived at Meadowood for two years, and it is by far the worst place to live. The office staff constantly changes, and with each person that the company brings in, the property gets worse. I do have to say that Linda (the latest of many Managers is okay). Everytime I call in a service request, it either does not get done, or takes weeks to do. The Assistant Manager cannot for the life of her stay on top of her job. She consistantly looses the paperwork for my file, and finds every reason to blame me for her mistakes. UNBELIEVABLE!

The Best in Michigan
I have lived in this comple for 4 years now. What I want to say is that the staff here is absoulty fantastic. Our Manager Linda is a warm caring person, the Asst. Manager Carol is the best, she is caring and always willing to listen to anything. Rhonda and LeAnn are the leasing agents and not only great people that listen to you have good sense of humor which is very important. In fact the entire staff in the office are just super. The Maintance, Marty, Mike and Mark and Anthony are great. Always willing to go that extra step to help and always have a smile when they see you.

All in All I would say that this is without a doubt the very best place to live in the State of Michigan.

I have lived in these apartments for almost 5 years. The office staff and maintenance staff are very friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Carol, the Assistant Manager is the BEST!!!

Re: WARNING- last writer is a moron
1) Don't move into an apartment until everything is fixed. Once you move in-you have nothing to hold against an apartment community if they don't fix it. 2) You should know better than to try to move into an apartment without having to show income-and knowing the leasing agents, I doubt for one second that they didn't tell you their minimum and maximum income requirements. They say it ever person who walks in their door. 3) Prices change all the time, this is why you read your application and read your lease before signing-you should know how much you are paying. 4) You should read your lease before signing because then you would know that you can't just ask to get out of your lease after 2 days. You moron, you just a legal binding document. What do you think is going to happen? You owe them rent now! Big suprise. 5) This propety is not for low income housing people. It's a section 42 meaning it's for moderate income people. Believe me, a real low-income place is much more slummy. This property is a picnic compared to a real low-income property. Obviously this property has some problems-they let an idiot like you move in. Learn to read and get a clue.

WARNING!
I never moved into this complex for very legitimate reasons. After I was told 3 different prices and saw my apartment, the staff told me they would fix a couple of things in my apartment. After I signed the lease, they said they never told me any of those things. I asked to get out of my lease (two days after signing) and they sent me a letter charging me almost two thousand dollars. I found out shortly after that they are government regulated for lower income people and I earn twice as much income and I do not even qualfy to live there. Meadowood did not ask me this before and should have took better information from me. They are liars, cheaters, and the apartment they showed me was a dump. I am reporting them to the better business bureau and I am glad to be away from such trashy people and a trashy community.

IT's not bad at all, it is pretty good
Yeah, Kids where everywhere. But the parking lot was consistantly potroaled by cops and I was never bothered. My neighbors where cool and it was somewhat quiet. They let me have a Pit-bull and they where very nice every time I went and saw management. The kids would be out at night but so where you when you where that age. The maitence men where nice, though they never came in my apartment. I changed my locks and asked that no one would come in to my apartment. They respected that because I would have heard problems about having a different lock on my door. That place was a neat place to live.

agreed dont rent here
well things were fine here until we had some horrible neighbors move in... we have to smell marijuana like everyday we have the windows open and have to put up with them taking about 10 parking spaces...you can see the look on everyones faces that is forced to park far away...management has told us several times that these people were being evicted but then it never happens and they claim that was never said...the management here is very pleasant to your face but they are for sure two-faced because nothing ever gets done like they say it will...i am so very disappointed in this place

Sect. 8
For those of you who don't know, Sect 8 is welfare money. It's government money given to single mothers and other people who don't have the time to take care of their kids. Not many apartments accept this because most people on Sect 8 can cause a lot of problems and accepting Sect 8 has brought down apartment complexes in the past. This property accepts Sect. 8. You will note that each property that accepts Sect 8 has people complaining about it. The Lexington of Southfield accepts it, Eagles Landing of Southfield accepts it, a whole slew of those old rotten townhomes in Taylor accept it, the Heritage Townhomes in Rochester accepts it. If you want to live away from punk kids who have never been punished from anything in their lives, then ask this important question before you rent: "Do you accept Sect 8?" If the answer is yes, run. If it's no, consider the apartment complex. Word to the wise. You don't have to take it. Just beware.

dont rent here
i have been here for 6 months now and i am not happy at all... there are too many punk kids like 10-15 year olds that mess with everything. people speed through the place all the time with no respect to others... we had mold in our apartment and they were very slow to correct the problem. there are vehicles that have been sitting for over a month, there was a camper set up for a week... people just do whatever they want here and management doesnt seem to care. neighbor and his friends take all the close parking spots so we get stuck parking far away where i cant see my vehicle

It's okay
My husband and I lived there for 2.5 years, and it was okay. At first we really loved it and thought it was the best place to live! So we talked some of my husbands friends into moving there. What a mistake that was, after a year they got black mold in their apartment.
About a year into our stay there, we had really awful neighbors, cars speeding down the street with their bass turned up, and punk kids walking around at night!
I am so glad we moved out of there when we did!
Also to be noted, our rent went up a lot while we were there.
Nice place to live
I lived at meadowood for 2 years, the office staff was always helpful and friendly, the grounds kept neat, and i had no problems with my neighbors. I would recommend meadowood park to anyone. Seems to me that the only people that got in trouble, deserved to get into trouble.. If you behave and respect other people, this is a great place for you to live.

My car was broken into...
I liked the apartment, but my car was broken into and the management wasn't very sympathetic or helpful. We had to pay $100 extra when we moved out for leaving a dresser that we didn't want. I thought that was excessive. Other than that, it's not too bad.

A little pricey!!
First off, the staff there is GREAT! You will never find a more friendly leasing office. They go out of their way to be nice and even send you a birthday card!

The rent is too pricey. $820.00 in this area is a bit too much. My building was over half vacant when I left there, yet the rent keeps going up and up. Most apartments will give you some sort of incentive or deal to re-new your lease....they do not.

As for the residents here, it is going downhill. It is mostly a bunch of 20 something punks who think they are thugs...loud music, loud cars...etc.

Overall the place is not your best choice for the area, but the staff is outstanding! If the rent was a bit less it would be a great deal!

It was nice when u first move in. there was nothing to do for the teenagers to do there and everything they did they were watched. Anything that would happen there they would blame it on the teenagers. If you want to move here i would have to say dont bring teens here cuz all it would do is cause problems with the office.

It was a nice place
It was a nice place to live... compared to other apartments out in this area. I thought that management was nice and treated me fairly. I did not like some of the maintnance(spelling sorry) men. They left dirty foot prints on the carpet leading to where they had to work. Overall, Meadowood is comfortable and clean.

few things to take into consideration
I lived here from 2000 until fall of 2002 and I am glad to be gone. The apartments themselves are nothing special and neither is management.
I found that since they have three bedroom apartments, it was very affordable for three people to get one and split the cost. My rent was less that $300 a month then. But the two bedrooms and one bedroom are just as costly as some places that are a little nicer.
One upside is that it is less than a minute away from the entrance to the expressway, which I miss. The location is really nice since that area is booming.
Another nice touch is that they have 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. You have to pay extra for the washer and dryer every month though.
One downfall is that the management told me I didn´t give them sufficient notice of me leaving (they knew, but wanted it in writing). Instead of the normal 30 days, I gave them 17 days written notice and was penalized one month rent plus an extra hundred dollars ($900 total). Now, keep in mind that I was moving into a new apartment elsewhere and had to deal with the costs to move into a new place... I definately wasn´t anticipating paying that kind of money just to move out of another.
They were generally non-responsive to the situation and came off as pretty uninformed for whatever questions I ever had. The fact that every single time I went in the management office there was a new person to talk to may have been the problem.
If it´s your first apartment, and you are splitting costs... give it a try. It was never a place I would call home but it was alright for the time. I am paying the same amount now for a brand new two and a half bedroom/two bathroom apartment a little closer to Novi. If Meadowood keeps raising their prices I would see no justification for wanting to live there.
