A vibrant diverse community. Staff works towards creating a community environment - even in inclement weather. While there were some issues with folks vandalizing vehicles, overall, excellent security in the building. Pool and spa areas are wonderful. Easy access to bike trails and soon the green line.

The overall experience of moving into the Hallon was very pleasant. The building is very clean and well kept, and the staff is very friendly. Kaylee is always available to answer questions and made the process so easy, from apartment tours all the way to move in.

I’ve LOVED our stay here so far!! It perfectly caters to any lifestyle!
We’ve LOVED being here! It’s been 8 months and we have no complaints. It gives us a luxurious feel to our lifestyle with all the special amenities, kind staff, and fancy atmosphere. I always tell people it’s like staying in a bougie hotel 24/7!

Great community. Walls are thin and I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking all the time. I wish the charred amenities and community areas were open later for everyone. There needs to be signs posted at the pool gates banning all glass so nobody breaks glass in the pool area and ruins it for everyone.

I have had a great experience living here. The amenities are a big highlight. The gym is well maintained, and something I use often in the pool and hot tub are fantastic with the hot tub. Open your round maintenance request or handled and efficiently which I appreciate the Apartments themselves are updated and clean in the building regularly house resident events that help create a welcoming community!

Apartment was very nice and the leasing agents were kind as well! There was no parking open for future residents , so I had to park at goodwill. The tour was great and all of my questions were thoroughly answered!

I wouldnt live here again. The amentities are nice, but are the only areas of the apartment complex that remain clean and kept. They kick you out of all amenities by 10pm sharp, that you PAY TO USE, mind you. Also, even if your car is registered for a parking spot and you happen to need to park in the public lot for 20 minutes to shower before a meeting, they will put a STICKY ticket on your car warning you that you dont pay to park there, even though my car is registered and if they checked the cameras they wouldve seen I was there for maybe 20 minutes. The need for money from this complex is apparent, charging daily parking fees to the community that doesnt pay for a garage spot is ABSURD. Paying for amentities in the SHARED building 1 shouldnt be a thing. THe Latch system always glitches out. Overall, would not recommend living here.

Read the fine print in your lease and don't let office staff allow your concerns go astray. This is a high-quality building that deserves to hire a high-quality compassionate staff. Parking is a nightmare, but it is what it is..

Not clear on the price when you're touring. I was told numbers during the tour, and after when I went to apply, they tried to sneak in a different unit cost without my knowledge. I confronted them and was told "I never said that"

The leasing agent was not helpful during my visit. When I asked if there was a model available that was different from the handicapped apartment, her answer was simply "no," with no effort to offer alternatives or additional information. She seemed to love using the word "no," which makes me question how responsive and solution?oriented the rest of the community, including the maintenance department, would be.

The community is beautiful but the communication from their management team is lacking. It's like pulling teeth trying to get a hold of someone over the phone and when you send emails you don't get any replies.

The manager hands out lease violations & refuses to explain why, or provide evidence of guilt. It's become a major problem w/ multiple residents. The hallways, and common areas are filthy on the weekends, with trash rooms oil

Nice Building, disappointing management
Beautiful building, disappointing management and follow-through. Ive lived at The Hallon for about two years now, and while the apartments themselves are very nice (modern design, great layouts, and quality finishes) the management and follow-through have been consistently disappointing. When I first moved in, the building had just opened, so I expected a few hiccups, but the recurring issues and broken promises have made the experience frustrating overall. Referral Bonus Miscommunication During my tour, I mentioned that I had friends already living here and was told to note that on my application to receive the referral bonus. When I applied, there was no space to list that information, but I mentioned it again when they called to confirm my approval. Two months after moving in, no referral payment came through. When I reached out, management claimed I should have listed it directly on the application (which, again, didnt have a field for that.) They refused to honor the referral despite clear communication. Broken Promises on Amenities We were told that residents of Hallon 1 would have access to the Hallon 2 amenities once it opened ( including the sauna and separate gym.) That never happened. Instead, they now charge an additional fee to use those amenities. We were also told the outdoor hot tub would be open year-round, but its closed for roughly four months every year. Internet Issues The building has built-in Wi-Fi through a single provider, meaning you cant switch or choose your own. While convenient in theory, the Wi-Fi goes out at least once a week, which is a huge problem if you work from home. Ive missed multiple meetings because of these outages, and each time it happens, you have to reconnect all your devices once the network resets. A/C Outage and Unhelpful Response In the middle of summer, our air conditioning broke. Maintenance was quick to diagnose the issue, but it took three weeks for the replacement part to arrive. They provided portable A/C units, which barely helped in 90-degree heat and drove our electric bill up by over $200. When I asked about a credit for the inconvenience and extra cost, management declined, saying maintenance acted promptly. Security Concerns The biggest issue, however, has been safety. Over a span of a few months, there were multiple break-ins in the supposedly garage. Residents had items stolen from their cars and storage areas despite paying $100 per month for those parking spots. Instead of increasing security after the first break-in, management told residents to make sure not to let anyone follow you in. It took four separate break-ins before they finally hired overnight security. Other Issues The cracked gym window (apparently from someone outside throwing a rock) took over two months to fix. The area right outside the building also tends to attract loitering at night, which doesnt exactly make residents feel safe coming or going after dark. Overall, The Hallon looks great on the surface (the apartments are beautiful and the amenities are solid )but managements lack of accountability, empty promises, and slow responses have made it difficult to recommend. If you value aesthetics and are okay with occasional frustrations, its a nice place to live. But if you expect consistent communication, reliability, and follow-through, Id look elsewhere.

I moved into Hallon II this summer after selling my home and wanting to downsize. The tours of the complex were informative and helpful in making my decision to stay in the Hopkins/St Louis Park area. The apartment complex is incredibly well maintained by staff. It is clean and well taken care of. All of the staff are diligent in addressing needs of overhead doors, access, etc. and genuinely approachable. The amenities may be common to other facilities but are very well maintained. I enjoy the diversity of our community in all aspects including age. I've had no issues with the Wi-Fi and its affordability at $77 per month. Tenants can do a much better job in breaking down cardboard boxes prior to putting into the bin to keep it from constantly being full. Parking is more expensive than other communities at $100 per space, but once the management reminded people of where they are to park, it is nice to come home and have a reserved spot. I agree with all of the comments on communication: it REALLY needs to improve. For example, when an elevator needs repair, send an email on what and for how long vs. taping a piece of paper to the doors. Communication is frequent and obvious when the management office won't be open - use that same process with other areas that need to be addressed.

More Concerned About Money Versus Customer Care
I was in the process of moving to Minnesota from another state and found The Hallon. I paid the hefty $350 application fee (only $50 to submit the application but then $300 to process) as I was confident this would be a great place to live and was added to the waitlist to stay until my moving date was confirmed. I was told my time on the waitlist would expire by the end of October. During this moving time, my 90 year old grandmother’s health had significantly declined and my family and I decided that it would be best if I moved in to be a part of her caretaking. With it now being October and due to these unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to live here and my application/spot on the waitlist will expire. As someone who works with people and makes exceptions for reasons like this, I was hoping The Hallon would be compassionate to my situation and refund at least part of the $350 application fee seeing as I have not been holding a spot. It seems the Hallon cares more about pinching pennies versus offering quality customer care as they have denied my request keeping the entire amount. I am now grateful that I will not be living here because if they are treating a possible tenant like this already, I can only imagine how poorly they treat their current tenants.

Loved it at first.. hate it now
Expensive. Poor communication. Crowded. No parking. Now we have to share with a business- should have put that in building 2 lol. Really wish I could use all of my appliances but can't. Car broken into by "man with crow bar." Vicious dogs, dog was attacked and bit.Where to begin? I was one of the first people to move into building 1. It was super nice and felt luxurious, amenities were always free since hardly anyone else lived here. That is the end of the good review. Now for the bad: 1. Prior to fixing any issues with building one they spent God knows how much money on building 2 and only caring about building 2 since that's the one they needed to fill with renters. 2. I was told rent was 1650 a month (already insane) and I actually pay 2,000 a month. It's 100 a month for the garage, and 100 dollars a month to use the "WiFi". However I have yet to be able to access my internet for my unit number and have to use the guest WiFi- which is not fast at all. 3. My dog was bit in the face in the elevator- caught on camera and I never heard what they did about it but never saw that dog again. But, my dog has a scar on his forehead above his eye six months later. 4. The parking garage is set up stupidly. Multiple times when I'm pulling in, if someone else is exiting we nearly get in a head on collision. Then we need to wait for someone to back all the way out to get through. 5. My car was broken into and they have so many cameras ready to charge you 50 dollars for not cleaning up "after your dog" that they supposedly caught on camera- but the car theft was not caught on camera? Other renters have stated that their storage units on site were also broken into and they said it may have been an inside job. Wouldn't put it past them at this point. 6. I have been waiting almost one week to get someone to fix my washer although they supposedly fixed it months ago- now the same thing is happening. So I have been without laundry facilities for one week and I pay 2,000 dollars a month to live here. 7. Keep getting random charges for unknown things 8. Asked if I could use the other buildings amenities- some people say yes, some say it's 50 dollars. Tried to even get in the front door of other building but I'm unable to access. 9. The gym is nice but super small for how many people are constantly using it. I used to work out every day, now there's never any room because people bring like ten friends 10. Sketchy people moving in lately- 11. Fire alarms set off several times making the entire building clear out because people smoke in their apartments. 12. Always someone different in the office if there's anyone at all. 13. Now they are changing management for the second time that's a red flag 14. They ran out Josh and Kelsa 15. They appear to only care about money. 16. The older small man in maintenance is either smoking cigarettes outside of parking garage or talking about what trash we all are and how people don't take out their trash and stuff in the elevator with me so akward when you have 2 staff members complaining about how everyone here is dirty and lazy and they had to take out other people's trash 17. I agree- people do leave all kinds of stuff in the trash room but not me- and it made me feel uncomfortable- also not professional 18. Keep getting notices saying I owe money for things the day after paying my monthly bill 19. The garage wasn't even accessible for a few days so no one had anywhere to park but we get notices on our cars if we park in the shared parking lot with goodwill- there's no way that many spots are used by one small thrift store.. maybe instead of a second building they should have made more room for parking or taken care of the issues that we had in the first building

The communal spaces are very nice and i like that there are community events for members. The only issue and why I would maybe be hesitant to refer someone here is that communication about certain things have not been consistent. when we moved in and when other moved in, we were all told we would be able to use the other buildings amenities, and now that the other building is open, we have to pay $50 a month. Little things like that are just frustrating and not transparent.

Mediocre
I like it because it is close to work, but price and amenities are similar anywhere. It is so hard to get a timely response from management and if there is ever an issue, you have to send an email and get no response. I feel like if there was ever a complaint about something small, I just don't even bother reaching out because nothing will be done about it. You have to send multiple emails to hear anything back.

It's been awful. Do not rent here. The building looks lucury at first, but it is not secured. Many thefts, break ins, and management in some instances refused to share video with police. Seems like some of the thefts were an inside job. Amenities are never open as promised (year round hot tub closed for 5 months and counting).
