Love the location, amenities and my apartment with a city view. The concierge and maintenance teams are amazing. I just wish the company were more flexible when it comes to short-term lease extensions.

Great community! Amenities are wonderful, staff is professional, units are beautiful. Great community events as well. Would absolutely recommend this property to anyone. Considering resigning and calling the Francis home for another year.

Loud Neighbor's and Moldy Apartments
Consider living here if you’re okay with loud neighbors above you and ignored emails from property management. The ceilings and floors are very thin, allowing noise to travel easily. Management has not responded to two emails regarding this issue.

Luxerious and Quiet
Hands down best community I’ve ever lived at. Granted I’ve never lived in a luxury community but seriously let’s start with Concierge. They make life SO easy. Coordinating move in, securing packages (and there are a ton), sending food delivery up, and providing email notices about local events…. They’re just all around a huge help. One concierge rep that stands out for me is Christina. She’s organized and efficient and has an awesome personality. Security, Arion, is awesome as well. He’s so friendly and courteous! Leasing staff are all super nice. They’ve recently had some changes with their phone system so if you’re trying to lease here and are getting frustrated with contacting via email, please give them a break. They’re equally as frustrated but when you connect with them they will give you a great experience. The amenities are very glamorous. HUGE pool and pool deck which does get very busy in the summer. There are a ton of non-residents but everyone is really friendly so I haven’t been bothered by the non-residents hanging around. Great gym, lots of equipment and space so crowding is rare. Towards the end of 2023 The Apartment Life team put on some awesome resident parties. I made some great friends and the turn out is always really great. There is a lot of thoughtfulness that goes into each event and those details really shine. Neighbors are very quiet and I hardly ever cross paths with anyone in the hallways. Elevators always work unless it’s a moving day in which everyone should pay attention to the concierge notifications for their local elevator reservation times. There are a fair amount of homeless that wander out on the boulevard but they’ve never bothered me… I also have a bigger dog so that could be why. All in all I’ve 100% decided to renew my lease because I cannot imagine having a better experience anywhere else. I moved here from Dallas never stepping foot in NC and this community was the best choice considering the close walking proximity to work, bars, restaurants, and the light rail literally attached to the leasing office makes for easy commute to NoDa and Southend.

The events are awesome!!!
The newly supported event planners have been awesome like Morgan and Andrew have already done three events, each of which has been wonderful! Looking forward to the Christmas party next week. Hopefully folks will dressed festively for the event. Love, living here, love living uptown, love living at The Francis!

Ladies Beware
If you are a single woman do not move here because the property manager will become obsessed with bullying and harassing you. I genuinely do not believe he likes women because the treatment he gives them in comparison to men is clearly disproportionate. He will abuse your personal contact information and attempt to damage your property (packages). He is extremely unprofessional, antagonistic, and vindictive. He is a nasty, envious piece of work. The remaining office staff follow his lead so the service you receive is not representative of a luxury apartment experience in the least. If you want to have constant petty conflicts at the place that’s suppose to give you solace then by all means move here. Ladies you’ve been warned.

Don’t move here!!! Management sucks at all levels
I used to love living here but the quality of life has been on the decline. Management hasn’t fixed any issue I’ve had for the past few months and using late payments during Covid to not renew my lease. Trash in the hallways/stairwells, poop in the hallways and concierge is not 24/7. Gnats are horrible in the spring and summer. Also reached out to Quaterra, the management company and they haven’t reached out or responded as well. Other than all of management not caring about the residents experience, love the location!

Beautiful property and amazing location; everything you need is on our block (CVS, WholeFoods, Nail Salon) Maintenance is top notch, responsive, friendly and fixes the problem efficiently (or will bring in extra tools/help if they need to). Property Management office is very friendly, helpful and will go out of their way to make you happy. Beautiful rooftop pool. My only complaint is concierge desk; while most of the staff are friendly and helpful, it is often un manned for long periods of time. It's not uncommon to see guests, delivery people piled up in the waiting area who need access to the building (which is tightly controlled). I met one guy yesterday waiting 30+ minutes to see his son. Understand concierge has to attend to other tasks in the building but maybe have buddy system? So if one of them has to do something that takes time there is coverage?

My experience at Novel has been nothing short of amazing. Everything was handled quickly and easily and immediately felt at home. The amenities and location set this property apart from the other properties I looked at when making my decision on where to live in Charolette.

Im a new resident, with a great overall experience from the day of the tour to this day. The reception at the day of move in was fast and appropriate. The only aspect to consider is the noise from the highway if your unit is facing to it. Otherwise, nonetheless still I would recommend this community!

Moved in recently and have had a great overall experience. Great staff, beautiful amenities, wonderful floorplans, and a Whole Foods underneath. Perfect building overall and really happy with my choice. Was originally torn between two other buildings, but it was a no-brainer once I had viewed Novel Stonewall.

Don't be fooled by appearances on your tour, this complex presents many more headaches for its residents than it does pleasures. For starters: there is an asinine guest parking policy. In a what can be viewed as nothing more than a quick grab for cash, the complex sold the first four floors of their parking garage (1 to Whole Foods, 2 to monthly parking, 3 and 4 to the hotel next to the property), leading to an extremely inconvenient guest parking policy that results in at least 5 vehicles being towed out of those floors on a daily basis. Lead by the property manager Derek Janney, the management team has been spotty at best in enforcing these decisions, often going months between towing cars and then simply citing "the policy" when having a vehicle forcibly removed. You are not allowed to use Future Resident parking for your guests to park in, unlike every other complexion the city of Charlotte. The complex requires your guests to park on the 8th (!) floor of the parking garage, above a gated portion of the garage, and guests must receive a pass from the concierge desk in order to do so. However, your guests cannot enter the building from the garage as the entry points require residential fobs! So the only option is to have your guests park in Future Resident parking, walk down three blind corners in the middle of the garage to the concierge desk, hope that one of the limited number of guest passes that the complex provides (for 24 hours max at a time) is still available, and walk back up the three blind corners of the garage while praying your car hasn't been towed yet. As mentioned in my last sentence- the complex seems to take pride in offering an inadequate and ineffective number of guest passes, saying that guests can PAY to park once passes have run out. Lastly- should you have a guest visiting from out of town, you cannot obtain a pass for them that lasts longer than 24 hours. You have to go down to the concierge desk every single day because the passes expire after 24 hours. The complex is not willing to work with you at all on longer term guest parking- making it incredibly inconvenient to host anyone at your complex. On top of the ridiculous and tyrannical behavior that the management staff shows regarding their guest parking, there are numerous other operational inefficiencies in this complex. For starters, 3/4 of the building cannot access the ground floor from their side of the building, meaning they have to take the elevators to the third floor and walk through the parking garage to the other side of the garage, use their fob to get back into the building, and take the elevator from that side down to the first floor. To take my dog for a walk requires me to walk nearly 5 minutes to leave the building. Additionally, while they claim that the light rail drops you off right next to the complex, the access door is only open during leasing hours, meaning if any guests avoid the insane guest parking policy by using the light rail, they have to walk a quarter mile to the concierge desk two levels below the light rail and then be sent up through the elevators there. The dog park does not properly drain and reeks of dog waste on a consistent basis. Numerous guests leave dog waste behind in the "dog park", which is nothing more than a strip of turf placed on the roof, prompting the ineffective management to try to corral this behavior by leveeing hefty fines for leaving waste behind, which merely curbed the behavior for a short period of time by residents. The pool is the best part of the complex and it has a very strict guest band policy. The gym is actually very spacious and nice and I use it regularly. Lastly, because of the valet trash rules, there is constantly garbage in the hallways. Ultimately, the every day constant pain-points of living in this complex are not worth having the cool view from the rooftop pool. Don't be enamored on your visit- there are major operational deficiencies in the way this building is ran by its management team and how it is set up. For the price-point, you would be wise to consider other, nicer complexes in the Uptown area such as Museum Tower, The Vue, and Savoy.

I love this community because of the care of the office staff and concierge. I moved in during construction in early 2018 and they went above and beyond to provide events while we were waiting for amenities to be finished. Fast forward to now with amenities done we have some beautiful spaces and the pool is truly the best uptown. They have enforced the pool policy which was needed so that residents could enjoy a relaxing time. There had been some unfortunate instances of a few residents violating the guest rule and behaving like a frat house but they have nipped that in the bud thank goodness! It feels like Club Med at the pool and the views and vibes are so relaxing. It's so convenient to have the train stop at our building. The Cares Team throws event's everyone can enjoy. The Leasing office truly takes concerns seriously and does their best to resolve them as soon as possible. The maintenance team is friendly and knowledgeable. If you are moving to Charlotte or are considering moving Uptown I would highly recommend calling Novel Stonewall Station home!

I love this apartment, its very clean and nice. The staff is amazing. Theres some room for improvement though. The parking pass situation is frustrating, pass validation would be much easier than trying to return the physical pass. Also you cant bring friends to the pool because of the pool passes. I want to bring more than 2 friends but its not allowed. Those two issues make me want to move.

I made the move south from NYC and was amazed at how much at ease the staff has made the transition for me. Additionally, this apartment complex is stunning. The pool is unbelievable and the gym equipment is comparable to an Equinox.

Living at Novel has been a great experience. The staff is always attentive to your needs and go out of their way to help you. The amenities are amazing and the view is impossible to beat. What makes Novel stand above the rest are its amenities. The pool is phenomenal, the clubhouse is spectacular, and the gym has everything you need to stay in shape. I hope to call this place home for years to come.

My experience at this community is very positive. The people who live here are friendly, respectful, and nice. The management team is very vocal about upcoming events, concerns, and information regarding the community. Some minor things can be improved, and prices are a little on the high side. Overall, great place to live with amazing views and amenities.
