I feel the Walcott is a luxury rental with great apartments and many amenities. I feel it is very safe and secure environment. Moreover, I love the quietness. In addition, the location of this building is excellent. It is very close to public transportation, restaurants, banks and shopping.

Mostly quiet. The grounds are kept well. Parking is super quick and easy. Minutes from mall, entertainment and restaurants. Friendly atmosphere friendly neighborhood and neighbors. Staff are friendly and helpful especially Jennifer.

People in the building are friendly and it’s very pleasant to live in Walcott. Residents enjoy the amenities. Building is always clean and smells good. Surrounding area is safe. Good balance of urban life and good access to parks. There are many good restaurants within walking distance.

I am extremely disappointed by how far The Walcott has declined in such a short period of time. When I first moved here in 2023, The Walcott genuinely felt like a community. Management regularly hosted monthly resident events, sometimes twice a month, including cocktail events and football watch parties. These events fostered connection, made it easy to meet neighbors, and created a welcoming atmosphere. At that time, the building was clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for. There was a sense of pride from both management and residents. Today, that experience is gone. The building is almost unrecognizable compared to when I first moved in, and even my guests are shocked by the deterioration. It is now common to see groups of people smoking and drinking in the garage at night, leaving behind their empty bottles of liquor. Additionally, the elevators and hallways have a strong smell of marijuana. Hallway carpeting is heavily stained and emits an unpleasant odor. The building once had a clean, fresh scent that was immediately noticeable upon entry, but now it feels neglected and uninviting. More concerning than the aesthetics is the serious decline in safety. The rear entrance on Maple Avenue has been broken for weeks and is therefore always unlocked, allowing anyone to enter the building without restriction. This is a major security issue, and despite its severity, it has gone unaddressed. Residents should not have to worry about who can freely walk into the building. The condition of the dog run is especially unacceptable. It is consistently littered with dog waste, suggesting a complete lack of management’s accountability and enforcement of building policies. What makes this even more upsetting is regularly seeing the building’s hardworking janitor picking up dog waste every morning, something that should never fall on him. He appears to be the only individual taking pride in maintaining this building. Management’s apparent indifference only worsens the situation. One member of management regularly parks illegally in a handicapped space in the garage, which is both inappropriate and deeply disrespectful to residents who actually depend on those spaces. Additionally, after nearly three years of residency, the apartments themselves are clearly deteriorating. I am constantly repairing basic issues on my own, including leaking faucets, malfunctioning appliances, and towel racks falling off the walls. At this point, the gap between cost and quality is impossible to ignore. With already high rent, a $75 monthly amenity fee, and a $125 monthly parking fee, residents should reasonably expect a clean, secure, and well-managed living environment. That expectation is not being met. I know I am not alone in these concerns, and I hope other residents I have spoken to will also step forward and share their experiences. Real accountability, stronger management oversight, and an immediate commitment to safety, maintenance, and community are urgently needed if The Walcott is to regain the standards it once had.

Residents here are gross and disrespectful. Dogs pee anywhere they want inside the building. The entire parking garage, elevators and 2nd floor stinks. Management threatens to do something about it but clearly they do not because it’s been happening for over 2 years. It is so gross. They have switched the times where a concierge is in the lobby probably about 15 times since i have lived here so I really don’t feel safe not knowing if someone is there to monitor the door or not. You can hear neighbors upstairs and besides you clear as day. The longer you live here, the more little things you notice. Outlets not being lined up properly, baseboards peeling off, the shower was not properly caulked. Overall it just sucks and was clearly built in less than a week with 0 thought put into it. You can’t even clean your walls properly because the paint was never finished so if you spray it with anything, it leaves a water stain. Do not recommend living here.

The tenants have no regard for cleanliness and pets urinate and defecate on the elevators. The trash room is a mess and management doesn’t address the ongoing mess. The cleaning and maintenance staff are great but there needs to be more policing of the tenants. In the summer time there is no policing of who accesses the pool. I think more strict application screening for new tenants needs to be addressed.

My move-in experience has been nothing short of amazing. The leasing office has been incredibly supportive, responsive, and patient throughout the entire process. Every question I had was answered clearly, and they made sure I felt confident and prepared every step of the way. The front desk team has also been exceptional. They are always welcoming, kind, and ready to help with anything I need. From day one, they’ve made the building feel like home with their professionalism and warm energy. Overall, the level of care, communication, and support I received made my move stress-free and enjoyable. I’m truly grateful for the entire team and so happy to be part of this community.

The Walcott Is a vibrant community of neighboring tenants! Its peaceful environment is soothing and eloquent. The best aspect is the management team! They are always pleasure able and helpful! Chevalys is supportive and helpful in all aspects of transitioning into the Walcott living experience!!!! Great place to call home

A horrible place to move to. Nothing is done about legitimate complaints. "A courtesy call" is done by management, but issues still continue. I cannot exit this lease without giving 2 months notice and 2 months rent as a cancelation fee.

Disappointing
I have been with Greystar management led apartments since 2018, in 4 different locations and states. This is by far the most disappointing Apartment Complexes I have ever experienced. It is extremely unfortunate as I choose this location among others that offered more.

I have now been a resident at the Walcott Hackensack for almost one month. i’m very happy that I chose this building for my new residence. The staff is amazing and the residence is very friendly. I will highly recommend The Walcott Hackensack to anyone for new place of residence.

Very calm and quiet community with a lot of good facilities nearby (aldi, dollar store, bank). The apartments are very well maintained with cutting edge technology in the kitchen, home wifi and hvac. The ground floor has a lot of activities and gym. Overall a very pristine place

The Walcott is an amazing place to live and rent. Sal the maintenance worker is so incredible, if anything goes wrong or needs work (which is rare) they are so quick to come and help. It is the cleanest building I have ever been to and I appreciate it everyday. The gym is spotless and the amenities are gorgeous. When I have visitors over they tell me it looks like a hotel. Additionally, in 1.5 years of living here, I have never heard a noise from a neighbors next door apartment the walls are so soundproof. There is ample parking, the mail room is super efficient, and the staff is kind. This building is very well cared for.

I enjoy living at the Walcott. I do like the options of being able to pay rent through the portal. I also like the Grill and fire pit that comes with the deck. The Walcott has a great maintenance team that is very quick and accessible to hen needed.

I moved in because of the friendly staff who made a good first impression, but all the nice employees have left, and now only an arrogant manager left. If equipment in the gym gets loose or breaks down, make sure to get it fixed.

The staff are so incredibly kind and so quick to respond to any needs. I've had to submit two requests for maintenance and I've had such great experiences with both Sal and George! Both were extremely accommodating and super kind and helpful! Definitely the best staff!

I have had great experience with all the leasing office staff including concierge and all of the maintenance staff. They are so accommodating and professional. I have also met and made friends with a lot of my neighbors. However, some of the residents are inconsiderate and negligent when it comes to their cleanliness. The garbage rooms are filthy, residents don't pick up after their pets in the dog park even though there are bags and shovels to pick up their pup's poop, the carpet in the hallways are filthy and haven't been cleaned since the building opened on all floors, some residents let their dog's poop and urinate in the common hallways on the resident floors and they don't pick it up, and some residents do not respect the 10pm noise rule.

The worst!
Do not move in here! This has to be the worst “luxury” building in Hackensack! The leasing office is a joke, management is a joke. They are all clowns! My apartment wasn’t cleaned before I moved in. They offer incentives on the website to move in but then tell you your apartment wasn’t the one allocated that incentive. So that is called deceptive marketing. The building smells, the carpeting in the hall ways are all stained. My apartment looks like it’s falling apart. It’s just disgusting. Stay far away. By the way I’ve only been here 30 days. I completely regret it!

I would give this community a 1 star. The best thing they have going for them is their 1 bedroom den loft layout. I would not recommend. Management looks over worked. Property is not well maintained. They allowed dogs in the pool after specifically telling me since pool season is over they would be draining the pool. The pool has never been drained. So that’s a health concern. I will most likely be breaking my lease. This place is repulsive.

I have a few favs at the property Jennifer, Ana and Katelyn. I look for clarity, consistency in communication. They provide just that! If you have a team like this you can move mountains.
