Scum city

Move here if you are a smoker. You can smoke cigarettes, pipes, cigars, weed, bongs. Anything you want! There is no policy against these things. They allow it. In fact, anyone who complains are asked to leave if they are not happy. They welcome smokers. So, if you are a smoker and/or don't mind being around second-hand smoke, this place is for you!

Before we moved in, we were promised that both front and back doors would be painted, when we moved out, they still were not painted. We were notified that they.. Holiday park apts, would not renew our lease, we were never told why, must be about the many times, I called and filed complaints about coming and fixing different things, like the rear window needed caulked, and the other areas that needed painted........ another major problem, was down the road was a shooting range, and all day you hear the guns going off, seven days a week....then the mutts up the street would start barking.....and there was the pine tree, shedding pine needles all year, and come winter the sap would start dripping down, and I didn't want to get that on my new car........too me they are a cheap low class outfit, and to top it off, we were over charged for some damage that they said we did ..... meanwhile, we never saw the damage that supposed to have been done......In our opinion, we were screwed out of some of our security money....I would never want to ever move to any place that is owned by them, or would I ever suggest to anybody about wanting to rent any of their very low class "DUMPS".......

Not worth the time and wasted effort to deal with this company. Better to keep hunting and find one that's not discriminating against people. They will waste your time for over a week while you lose other options.

If I could give this place 0 Stars I would. they let us move into a cockroach infested apartment back in October, apartment 41 C Sandune Court to be exact. We saw cockroaches the first night we were there, the front office said they sent someone to "check" on Monday which was the next day. We called the front office on Monday night and we were told there was no cockroaches. There was also no documentation at the office of an actual exterminator being in our apartment on that Monday. We bought our own roach motels baits and traps we took them up to the office to show them. They said they could move us to another apartment but we would have to pay all the fees again....when we were there only 2 weeks. We had to throw many of our items and food away because they couldn't be salvaged. We also had to bomb all of our own things outside of the apartment and hope we didn't bring the roaches to our new place. Head office also refuses to reimburse us for all the items that would not be saved.

I've lived in a two bedroom townhouse for nearly a decade and am generally pretty non-needy as a tenant. Garage is decent and private laundry is a big perk. Kitchen is small but usable. Normally with as neutral an experience as I've had I wouldn't take the time to write a review, but I feel compelled to share one of the worst maintenance experiences I've ever had. On Thursday October 4th I found that the central AC was failing to cool the unit and the apartment was 82 degrees inside. As it was after hours I decided just to submit a workorder via the website. I received no confirmation so on Friday morning I called the office during business hours. They had no idea that I had submitted a workorder, so definitely don't trust their online tools. They did dispatch a technician on Friday and I came home to a note saying that they needed a motor. I suffered through an uncomfortably hot weekend as the outside temperature was just as warm as the inside for the weekend and left on a business trip on Monday the 8th. I called to let the office know I was travelling and that they were welcome to enter without additional confirmation to get things fixed. I returned today, October 11th and entered my apartment through an unlocked front door. Looking at the maintenance note They timestamped 51 hours before with a note that the AC was fixed. As I write this I have the AC set to cool to 72 degrees and I am sweating in my 81 degree apartment. The AC is not fixed and my apartment was left unsecured, thankfully nothing was missing. I called the office at 5:21 PM and was basically told that there was no one I could talk to that could help and their concierge would call tomorrow as would maintenance. I work in management in Information Security, if anyone who worked for me did the digital equivalent of leaving the front door unlocked for 51 hours they would be immediately fired. If someone reported an issue fixed without proper verification they would be reprimanded. We'll see what the concierge does to make things right, but as of right now I would advise against renting from this company unless you think you can make it your entire time without maintenance issues or don't like your worldly possessions and want your landlord to make sure people can take them off your hands. As an additional note I spoke to staff in both the local office and the management office who felt that the level of service provided was acceptable levels of service and that because nothing was stolen that leaving an apartment unsecured was not nearly as big a problem as I feel it is. Based on this experience my opinion of the staff and overall has decreased. Consider that if this is how they treat a tenant of nearly a decade how you will be treated as a new tenant when deciding on where to live.

Do NOT rent from holiday park or any rimco properties Inc apartments. They are greedy and lazy. We moved in around 2014 and the rent was 695 two years later we are up to 790 which is ridiculous because absolutely nothing has changed. They claim it is to keep up with the amenities they provide but I'm not exactly sure what those are to be honest. The insulation is bad, heating bills through the roof in the winter. Also they have a clause in the lease where you can pay the rent late as long as you pay an extra 50$ but they send you to court anyways. The employees in the office are rude and lazy. They take for ever to process claims but they can file paper work to screw you over in a day. Oh and the noise is a huge problem! I hear babies crying all day long as well as loud music and construction (they renovate an apartment as soon as someone moves out and people move out of these places left and right) I'm a creature of habbit and that's honestly the only reason we've stayed this long (2years) really just save yourself the headache and find some place else because these people are the definition of lazy and greedy. The one thing I will say is the maintenance staff are all really nice guys, they are just overbooked and expected to be in two places at once because the lazy people in the office dont bother to ask them if they have time to fix things. They will tell you that someone will be up that day and then call you five hours later and say that someone can't make it for another four days. We had a problem with our shower and we don't know any one down here so it's not like we can just go to a friend's to shower every night. It took them four days to come fix it. Thank god I have a gym membership and could shower there. When I called to tell them that it was disgusting and inhumane they basically said it wasn't their problem (in that real passive agressive, overly nice way). Side note: they allow pets but of course for a fee, I think cats are $25 every month and dogs are $50, honestly not 100% sure on that one though. Just beware, they dress it up nice to make it seem like a decent place to live but it's really not.

I recently moved out of Holiday Park Apartments. I really can't recommend them - while there are some "pros" about the complex, the "cons" definitely outweigh them. Pros: Nice setting - lots of grass and trees, deer, squirrels, birds. Apartments are well sound-proofed - with the windows closed you don't hear anything from outside your apartment. Good amount of parking. Cons: Unattended children playing in the streets. Plastic kid crap visible throughout the complex in common areas. Most important: management is slow to do things FOR you, but quick to do things TO you. (I presented them with a fairly simple issue that took them 8 months to resolve, but they expect to enter apartments for non-emergencies at the drop of a hat.)

The apartments overall are decent, basic accommodations for the money and one of the most reasonable around. With that said, I have had a number of issues. For one, there has been a severe insect problem forever. Roaches, fruit flies, centipedes, etc. that won't go away. They do send around a pest control guy but he just sets up little traps and sprays some little canned stuff and they just end up coming back. Apparently this is a problem in a number of the apartments and I read in previous reviews in some of the townhomes. Maintenance guys are nice, but never seem to come prepared to do even simple jobs. They always say they have to come back another day to finish, although you waited all day for them (if they even show) like you have nothing better to do. Apartments need updated bad and the paint and carpets are cheap. I have had drain issues since I moved in, have called multiple times about it, and all they do is put drano in. I suspect this could be one of the reasons for the bugs. When you call, they say "you should have called earlier" and lecture you like you are a small child, but yet you have already called them many times and nothing is done about it. My windows have never opened or closed properly and I have called them multiple times about it, they sent guys and they still don't work. In the winter, the apartment lots are not cleaned well so I have fallen and gotten hurt a couple times. With that said, the apartments are very quiet and the area nice. They keep up the landscaping well.

I would not recommend anyone rent from this property management company. * The units are in disrepair and badly in need of remodel. The units are way overpriced for the area. * The office management is incompetent and unwilling to help resolve problems. They also do not adequately communicate. * The maintenance team is incompetent and cannot properly fix things inside the units. * Annual rent increases are the norm and not justified. Based on what I've seen and what I've heard from other resides there are a lot of unoccupied units and raising the rent is what they do to make up the difference.

My wife and I recently visited the Holiday Park Townhomes, and applied to be residents. The Office staff was very professional, and friendly. We made an appointment via phone from contact data from Rent.com, and they were ready to meet with us on time, despite an ice storm. We arrived, some small talk, and then we got a map and very good directions to the unit, specific instructions as to where to park, and followed the Leasing Agent in our own car. We arrived with no problems. It was a beautiful drive through Plum Borough, and Murrysville. Lots of trees in good condition. We got to the door, went in, and she invited us to look around, explaining features, but it wasn't like a hard sell, more like this is what we have, take a look, and we did. then we'd talk, and she explained more. All of our questions were answered, very courteously. The place was immaculate. Lots of receptacles, nice glass pane chandeliers, you can see them on some of the slideshows. Huge living room, the whole place was wall to wall carpeting, nice fireplace, wood back deck, garage, all clean, spiffy, nice. Utility room attached to the garage. We asked about pets and vets, and were told three vets were in the area. Lots of places to rent furniture if we needed it. We got to see the actual unit we are to live in. Garbage pickup, water bill deposit, pet fees, security deposit were all carefully explaioned, along with the refunds process if we were rejected. We had already brought a credit card, and our financials with us, so it was a matter of getting our driver's licenses copied, filling out a single application form and signing that paper. It had the fireplace, dishwasher, and garage that we desire, in a nice woodland setting, yet close to freeways. We make enough to afford the place, and it felt like our new home. I can't say enough how nice our agent "Elaine" was even to the point of going back, she waited for us at each turn so we would'nt get lost. It was made clear that our application relied on credit records, and more or less stability, and we are hoping to get in to one of these really great units. It would be a shame to go to a place that did not fit our needs so perfectly. At a going rate of about 1$ per square foot per month, these places seem like a really good deal. The rest of the reviews here and Rent.com helped us greatly make our decision to apply. It's exactly what we are looking for. I will say I have live in apartments in San Diego Ca, Orlando Florida, and multiple places in the Pittsburgh area, and this staff was the most accomodating, and professional I've ever seen. I rated what I saw. Maintenance I gave 4 stars because I saw that even though our apartment was empty, it was clean & well maintained, painted, ready to go, no problems with handrails or stairs or anything. Parking was not huge, but enough for two cars and maybe one or two visitors per Unit. I did not hear any noise while I was there in the middle of the day. So, for first contact, I was really impressed. Update: We have lived here a little over two years now, in one of their huge luxury townhomes with a garage, and a fireplace.

Holiday Park (my experience SAFE, QUIET, and CLEAN).

I have a small 1 BR apartment (not a townhome) through Holiday Park apartments. I have been looking at other options recently to try to ECONOMIZE. However, after reading other people's horror stories through other apartment managers, I'm reconsidering STAYING PUT. I have ample parking, quiet (older/retired) neighbors---(a.k.a. NO DRUGS, no LOUD music)---and I am told that if any "riff-raff" is noticed at ANY of the HP apartments---it will NOT be tolerated. It is a NICE neighborhood---good/residential section of Plum, and the home owners are interested in keeping it that way. I am ALWAYS thankful to Tracy, Ginny, and all the other staff (the girl in the office who takes my rent check every month and answers my calls for MAINTENANCE when needed...) Let's see. I have PROMPTLY had: a sink unclogged, a bath unclogged, a light-switch repaired, well, that's about it...no major issues. I am a young professional, and this apartment suits my needs. I wish I had an on-site laundry (and a dishwasher) but my apartment is a much smaller unit than their normal ones. The only one thing that could be improved is the safety (lighting) of the steps/walkway/porch area. It is VERY DARK at night. I've been thinking about installing my own SOLAR LIGHTS on the porch railing and near the steps. About $20 for two (at Lowes). Might need four to six...Also may see about installing a special fixture to keep my porch light on at night, but not running during the day. (This is the ONLY reason I had to dock them on "safety," otherwise, I have always felt safe.) I would absolutely feel comfortable recommending Holiday Park to a FAMILY member or a FRIEND.

We are currently looking to relocate

I agree with previous posts that our townhouse is not updated. It has been reported to us that our building owner wants to refinance but is unable to until he/she pays for a new roof. Our roof is horrible. Upon numerous complaints to Holiday Park, we have had repeated leaks and all maintenance did was use caulking to seal what they thought was the leak...the outer brick wall! Now we have a few bricks around the windows that are outlined in caulk. It's quite humorous really! They "updated" our carpet prior to moving in, but after we did our walk-through, and the carpet doesn't match the rest of the house. The kitchen is the smallest kitchen I have had in all of Pittsburgh over the past 10 years. The townhouses are very poorly insulated and even upon plastic on the windows you still feel the air coming through. Power boxes need updated along with needing more than one receptacle in the basement if you want to do anything other than laundry in the basement. Our back patio is unusable because it sinks down and is filled with acorns, water or mud at any given time, they won't fix this. On an upside, they allow dogs of all sizes which I find is difficult to find in Pittsburgh, however on the down side, we were told it was an enclosed fence and in fact is NOT at all. The entire one side of the building is entirely open. Who would have thought to walk around the entire perimeter to check it out? Another thought, we have a parking lot that doesn't even allow all of our cars and if you have visitors they have to park all the way across 286 in the "overflow" lot which is really just another parking lot for apartments. Very inconvenient!!

Well... what to say here. I've been reading a lot of these reviews as I consider relocating because of the drive (I work in downtown Pittburgh, PA). Seeing a lot of self-selection sample bias on this site... only annoyed people post. Basically - this is a great place to live. I've lived here for 4 years, paying 645 a month and utils. Rent increased a few times by $10 a year - not the end of the world by any means, and certainly not a "bait and switch". Over the years, I've had appliances replaced with little fuss... I've had my AC, dishwasher, and washer replaced when needed. Management has always seemed perfectly reasonable to me on the few times I've had to interact with them. I've had to have a few minor things dealt with - a sticky lock, installation of a new gas meter thing - and they have been prompt and courteous. Our building (2 story, 2 bedroom townhome) is good. The walls - you might hear someone walking on the floor above you in your upstairs bedroom from your downstairs living room if they stomp. The walls between the units in my block are amazing - I never hear a thing, and my neighbors say they never hear me. I'm real curious just how many layers of concrete there are there. Parking is ample. Each apartment has 2 spots, and every two or three apartments there's an extra. I have my friend over, it's not a problem to park overnight. People on my block are respectful and reasonable, and parking has never been a hassle. The maintenance guys - they're great. Just had to have a tub faucet repaired, and these guys showed up exactly when I asked (3pm friday afternoon, soon as I could get home from work - I prefer to be home because of horror stories at other places about pets sneaking out, and I have a very adventuresome adopted cat that I worry about.) They respected that, showed up close to quitting time due to my schedule, and stuck in there for quite a bit after normal end of day/week to get it done - to accommodate me. And speaking of which, the manager, Tracy, was helpful and very understanding in my desire to be home and other related requests. They have been quite on the ball regarding all the weird weather issues - snow, thunderstorm/wind issues - that require any maintenance. The neighbors are mostly other young professionals, one or two families. Generally, we all act civil, and there's never a problem. Had a fun sort of block party shoveling snow last winter. My only gripe is the drive to Pittsburgh... the parkway is a bit of a haul during rush hour. But as I keep telling my girlfriend, find me any other place with central air and heat, full size washer/drier, pet friendly, ample parking, no crime issues, and a reasonable management company for 600 a month (listed mine a bit higher because of the pet fee). She wanted to move closer to her parents in north hills, we've spent the last 3 months looking around. We keep coming back to "man, we've got it good here".

                                  Literally Paper Thin Walls

Well, I stayed with Holiday Park Apartments since 2005, first staying in an apartment, then moving to a small townhouse. Everything was fine there, but then I decide to move into the 2 master bedroom luxury townhome in 2008, about the biggest mistake of my life. Not only can you hear the neighbors banging around all day on both sides of me, but on one side I live next to a prick. I may stay up late and watch TV or play games, but every other day all I got was noise complaints because the walls are just that thin. I explained to management I don't do anything at night, they acted like I was having parties, but it was just me and maybe one friend. So I was forced to move out or be evicted because holiday park apartments "accomadates" for people with "special needs" such as the lady next to me is a light sleeper, accomadating for a light sleeper, you might want to tell them the walls are lined with the sunday comics, so noise will definately be an issue, your scamming a light sleeper because in all places I have lived, for a luxury townhome, those walls are the biggest piece of ----, just knock the walls out, no point in having them, put up a privacy screen if you worried about privacy, might do a better job. Holiday Park needs to fix the paper thin walls (probably wont be fixed within a 2 year olds lifetime) in their "luxury" townhomes, $1135/month and its like you have to live in a damn library, I was scared to gently walk/tip toe up the stairs, no problem, Holiday Park lost an excellent tenat, in the 4 years I stayed with them I was NEVER late on rent.

                                    No problems here

We have lived in a three-bedroom townhome here for almost two years. At first glance, I didn't care for it because the bedrooms are small (the different townhomes have didn't sized bedrooms, so don't judge by my comment alone), but decided to rent this because the tenant before us had built a bedroom in the basement complete with carpet, cable hookup and phone jack. The manager said it would be removed if we didn't want it, but we did. We haven't had any problems with maintenance. The staff is courteous when a problem is reported and we have never had to wait for maintenance to show. Before reading the reviews and deciding whether or not to tour these apartments based on the reviews, give the place a chance. This is a HUGE complex with many, many townhomes. We looked at several and they were all different. Some are newer than others. Some are bigger than others. It just depends on what's available and what you want.

Very quick to respond to any concern

I've lived here for about 4 months now and I really do love it. My place is very clean and well kept although I believe it's about 20 years old. I live in the basement and have no bug issues (except the occassional spider that I probably brought in somehow. It happens everywhere!) I had a couple small maintenence requests (the plug in my sink broke, my hot water wasn't staying hot for a long time, and my fuse kept blowing) and each time I reported it, someone was here to fix it the very next morning. I'm in an apartment with 5 other residents. I've talked to 4 of them and they all also seem to really like it here, too. I was weary when I read these reviews, but I was so glad that I checked it out anyhow. I vowed to come write a positive report after I've lived here long enough to get a feel of the atmosphere. (It seems most happy people have little reason to visit a review site)

                                        Think Again....Horrible Management

I've rented from Holiday Park Apts. twice and after the first time I shouldn't have given them a second chance. Our first apartment was infested with horribly big house centipedes. They were gross. That was a one bedroom. Our townhouse experience was miserable. They claim to clean before you move in but our dishwasher was filled with food, broken glass and MOLD. I cleaned it myself. There were dead flies on the windows and black dirt spots on the ceiling. Every single door in our apartment had peeling paint. The wallpaper was old and had holes all through it from the previous tenants. They claimed it was new wallpaper. They were supposed to replace broken blinds and it took me months to get them. The finishes on the apartments are done poorly. I asked to have my door fixed and I was told it was just the weather. I had my toilet "fixed" and from then on had to stand next to it and hold the handle, then wait for it to fill to make sure it wasn't going to keep running. I asked for bee hives to be removed and they maintenance man told me that I could pop out the screens and do it myself. Our shutter blew off the house in a storm and they just glued it together and put it back up. In addition to all of that, they sent a letter asking us not to paint the apartment before we moved and are now charging us $100 to paint two walls. They are rude, unhelpful and inefficient. Our friend also rented and his air conditioner broke. It took them weeks to fix it. Some of their luxury apartments aren't up to par with luxury in the 70's.

                                          HAPPY WITH HOLIDAY PARK

I've lived at Holiday Park Apartments for awhile, both in the 2bedroom townhome and the 3 bedroom luxuries. They allowed me to transfer apartments whenever I needed more space and I have been very happy with both townhomes. Maintenance takes care of any problem I have promptly. My neighbors are nice and look out for each other.

                                            Rethinking this..

I am still in the new townhouses, but am seriously reconsidering. They will not fix the problems in time, you will get blamed for everything. I get complaints on me all the time for no reason, they are unreasonable when you speak to them, the only way you get to live peacefully up here is if you keep your mouth shut about all the problems. There is a tattle tale living up here that spies on us all and reports everything and anything, even if it does not go against the lease. The rent is constantly changing and they treat some people up here differently than others. There are huge cracks in the walls, we had roaches, fruit flies, spiders and other bugs. The homes were built with the cheapest material possible and now the places are falling apart. We were told by another neighbor that the maintenance men told them the houses were falling over the hill because they were built without letting the ground settle, we ask Holiday Park about it but they said it was untrue. I am currently seriously rethinking living here. If I were you I would not even tour the town homes, save yourself the trouble and hassles. They only want people up here who refuse to say what is wrong and ask for things fixed.

                                              BEWARE!!!

We are in our second year in the new "luxury" townhomes on Jenny Lynn Ct. These townhomes may look nice at first glance, but they are slowly falling over the hill!!! no joke. The area used to be swampy and they backfilled and had the homes built in 90 days, not leaving enough time for the ground to settle. Now the ground is settling with the homes on them. cracks are appearing in the walls and the floors all creak. one neighbor's deck sank 6 inches!!! These townhomes are also infested with insects ranging from Spiders to Ants to Earwigs to Roaches!!! and management refuses to fix the problem. They don't show up to fix even the simplest of problems. There are also frequent power surges so be prepared to replace light bulbs and reset clocks often! Tracy at the office is very uncooperative and shows no compassion for the tenants. And the noise level from the street and from McDonald's is unbearable at times. The amount you pay here is not worth the aggravation of living in a dump. Stay Away!!

So I haven't lived at Holiday Park, BUT that's because I was shown a tour!!! I was shown a tour of a 2 bedroom townhouse. It was absolutely horrible. Even though they still needed to clean- it smelled like cat pee. The laundry room is crappy and dirty... even if it were cleaned! The bathrooms are very outdated- along with the kitchens. The outside was very dirty as well. One bedroom had an outdated mirrored closet door which was VERY TACKY. The price with two cats would have been around $650. It's not worth it! Maybe if it were around $500 it would fit the description. YUCK!

                                                  Up and Down

I agree with another tenant that said they paid for utilities for the time before they moved in. Our apartment was vacant for several months before we moved in; and our utilities tried to charge us for that time; when in all honesty it should have been charged to the apartment because no one lived there. Check your meters and call all utility companies to come out on the day you move in....not after. As for the apartment themselves. We have lived in both SK Management and Holiday Park (across the street from each other). The apartments are older; about 20 years or so. There is normal settling of the building. But short of tearing them down, they can't do anything about it. Holiday Park is now updating all of their town homes. We live directly across the street and in the last 6 months I have seen them put in new windows in all of the town homes (across from me), rebuild the retaining wall, replace the roof and I've seen some appliances go in. They are also allowing dogs, something they never did before. The maintenance was really good. They only had a few maintenance people, so often times it was slower than I liked, but they put the priorities in order and got the issues taken care of. At one point we had water pouring in our kitchen from our upstairs bathroom, and they came out right away and "fixed" the problem. They didn't give excuses or patch it...they actually fixed it. There are ups and downs of every apartment, you have to choose what is more important to you. After living in both SK and Holiday Park, I would move back in a heartbeat. In comparison they are excellent.
