The best way to make your home appear as though it is a clean home is to eliminate clutter. The build up of clutter is the first thing that someone will see when they walk into your home, not the hidden dust balls in the corner. So, in order to eliminate the clutter from your home, you are going to have to invest in a daily cleaning habit.
Just 3 Minutes Each Day
Cutter is so easily built up around the home because it is the little things that you pay the least attention to that eventually add up to clutter before you can even blink.
Imagine that you come home from work one night, you kick back on the couch, open a magazine and then you are interrupted by the ringing of the phone. So, you get up to see who it is and get divulged into a meaningful conversation. However, in the meantime, you have left your magazine lying out on the coffee table. If you do this with a few other things through the night, like a coffee cup, the cordless telephone or a few DVD’s, you have set up a real mess of clutter in your home.
In order to get away from this problem, try taking three minutes out of each day during the work week to clean up the clutter in your home. During this time, just travel around the house looking for items that are out of place or need to find a home. If you can dedicate this allotted amount of time every day, after 5 days it will have only taken you 15 minutes to keep your house clutter free.
Employ All Members of the Household
Another one of the sure ways to make sure clutter is kept in check is to employ all members of the household to clean up after themselves. This is another wise ways to use 15 minutes out of each day.
With kids and spouses running around the house, it may seem like you are constantly picking up after someone and trying to keep up may seem like an impossible mission. Whereas you can always try out the three minutes each day rule, it can still be easy to fall behind when you have a large group of people living in your home and none of them seems to take the time to clean up their clutter.
The best thing that you can do is to lay down a road map for cleaning up clutter. You will need to assign and dedicate a certain time of the day, every day, for everyone to go around the house and clean up their own mess; be it soda cans, school books, magazines or paper airplanes.
Make sure that everyone is aware of their duties and the appropriate types of homes for their clutter; namely wherever they belong in the house. If you can get three or four people working around the house for 15 minutes every day, you can certainly keep your house in the clutter-free zone.
