The spring décor of your living room should include delicate colors, soft fabrics and, if you’d like, plenty of flowers. Some inexpensive changes can help you freshen your living room and make it look less drab and wintry. Spring is a season of colors and fragrances and you should incorporate both these elements in your living room to give it a soothing atmosphere.
Bring in Light
The first thing to do is open up your living room windows and let the sunlight in. The window panes should be washed and curtains of sheer fabrics in spring colors, such as apple green, peach, white or yellow, should replace heavy winter ones.
Accentuate the Room
Place aromatic candles and flower pots holding colorful plants in corners and on occasional tables. This can make the room aromatic and have a soothing effect on the residents of the house.
Minor Touch Ups
Paint the furniture to give it a fresh look. Change throw cushion covers and dining table covers to add new color. New place-mats and napkins can be an inexpensive way of achieving the same effect. If the carpet is a drab color, you can spruce it up by placing a bright area rug on top of it.
Create Space
Buy large-sized mirrors to give an illusion of greater space. You can also add artwork on the walls and ornate light fixtures to give the room a spring-like ambiance.
You can make a living room get a new and light look without spending a lot of money by incorporating these ideas when you start decorating it for spring.
