Units are a bit dated. Our microwave could use replacing. Panel is a bit difficult to use. Grout in bathrooms are dirty. No washer or dryer included. We did ask for our cabinets to be painted and those will get done this week! All in all a very nice property.

All great, the only negative is the airplane noise at Midnight and 6:00 AM. I wish the flight quiet hours were longer, but that isn’t something in Homestead’s control. Overall noise in the community is quiet, and friendly.

Dated and Deteriorated

We have loved living here but only because of the neighbors and friends we’ve made and grounds. The home we lived in was very challenging with the master bath located outside of the room and adjacent to the main living area. No privacy. They haven’t pressure washed our sidewalks, porches, and house in over 4 years. Water pressure is lacking. Dated and deteriorating interiors. Pealing cabinet faces, dirty and decaying grout in bathrooms. Old appliances and fixtures. No ceiling lights in bedrooms. Airplane noise feels like the planes are landing in your bedroom. It’s so loud when you are outside you have to stop talking. We have had many issues arise with management and huge rent increases over the years…one year was over 20%. Clubhouse not accessible outside of office hours. Only 2 guests at a time are permitted with you - check your lease, it’s in there. Greystar is the property management company, look them up and see the reviews for yourself. Be careful when deciding on moving here.

Our experience in this community has been great , however , as I have said before, this community has to be secured. When we moved here in Nov. 2018, this community was very private and it had a gate.When the Fire Department proposed to build a Fire Station at the entrance, for some reason, the Gate was taken down.WHY, we don’t know. As stated before, a private entrance gate to this community is required in order to keep others out. Many people come into this community to fish or to park their cars near the office in order to walk their dogs. Need I say more? What else could happen . Absolutely amazing place. We relocated from the UK and wanted somewhere you could come out of your front door and actually walk to places. Other houses we looked at in different areas were great but required us to drive everywhere. At Hartness you have everything on your doorstep, can walk for miles and you can even walk through the woods and to The Captain's Bar at the Hotel and have a drink. Amazing place!

Love living here. The staff is great and the maintenance staff is wonderful and very responsive. The grounds are beautiful and the location is perfect. It is hard to find another rental that provides the trails, gym, fishing, pool and community center like we have here.

It has been a wonderful transition place for my family. We moved from out of state and this allowed us to feel like we were in a home and a community. The plentiful acres of walking and green space have allowed us to enjoy the outdoors year-round. The community is very quiet and closer to all the amenities.

A very nice community to live. However, there are 2 critically negative aspects about this community: 1) expensive to live 2) noise from the airplane. Otherwise, it's wonderful. Nice trails for walk, bicycle, or jogging. Super nice maintenance service. Small lakes for fishing. Relatively safe.

The airplane noise is all day even in the middle of the night. The first plane of the morning is around 5:30am , they also fly very low. The windows in the cottages are not air tight and do not reduce the noise. We like the walking trails and the staff is pretty friendly.

Although it is private community, gate is removed. Since then, many people freely come in to the community. we feel very unsafe. No control even it was addressed a several times to the leasing office. Basically, leasing office doesn't respond to anything in timely manner.

No longer private as that was a key factor in locating here. Gate is gone with very little communication. Traffic is constant and many do not live here. Fire Station at the entrance? Office staff is busy for sure, but rarely answer the phone. Trash and recycling areas are ridiculous as tenants either cannot read or do not care. Residents from the neighborhood have use of our facilities but at times annoying for our little private space. They come and take firewood from our pit? Park wherever they want. Cars parked in here at length with no stickers?

Generally Good, As stated earlier there has been a drop off in the enforcement of "the rules". Additionally, when we located here one of the priority items was private, gated community. Homestead has fallen on the sword with removal of the gas without explanation.

So far all good...even though some bugs decide to come inside...they're not paying residents so maintenance has been great to get rid of them. Response time is great too. People are very friendly. Love the farmstand too

I have a dog that I walk around the property and I ALWAYS pick up after her. However, there are residents here that leave their dog poop for others to observe or step in. I have contacted the office at least ten times or more to complain about this disgusting neglect of other residents. They have always come and picked up the dog poop, but never addressing the problem with pet owners. They need to reach out to the pet owning residents personally and let let them know that it shouldn’t be tolerated according to the lease agreement.

I have no words to depict how amazing it is living at Homestead at Hartness. I love how safe the neighborhood feels, and the other residents have made me feel welcomed. The staff is, hands down, the most friendly and professional group I’ve ever encountered at an apartment complex. I highly recommend Homestead at hartness!

In the years I have lived here it has changed. The Staff was more upscale, professional and helpful. The units were hand painted or repainted when turned over. Now who ever does the painting comes in and spray paints everything - walls, hardware and drips everywhere!! Kitchen cabinets, counter tops not repaired properly. You can’t even see the inside of your unit before u move in in some cases!! Not the beautiful, exclusive property it use to be!

Horrendous

Unbelievably unprofessional and bizarre. This place claimed THREE YEARS after we moved out that we owed a month’s rent. They sent this to collections without any warning at all and we were told this was because we didn’t give the proper warning of move out and that it had to be 60 days prior in writing, but we did even better at 6 months. Absolutely ridiculous staff that claims it has a brand new staff and can’t go back and look at documents and emails from the past. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy

Very easy to live here. Grounds are kept nice and there is a lot of beautiful landscape. Lighting is very poor on the walking paths (where ALL of the pet stations are) and front gate area. This is a safety concern. The landscaping in our yard needs attention (there is nothing there on one side of porch and the rest is barely hanging on). Mostly, a great place to live. The appliances in the home are very basic and lacking for the amount of rent paid (IMO) and there should be overhead lighting in the bedrooms.

Homestead at Hartness is a wonderful place to live. The community offers everything you can think of. I really have no need to leave unless I need something from the store. Everything is right out the door and you are on a trail to walk or bike ride. It is very peaceful and safe here. I love the water and fishing too!

The security gate has been broken for over two months and has not been repaired which cheapens the property. Unwanted visitors entering the property. Lamp post has been hit and is laying on the property. Great management team!

The property is nice. The staff changes out every couple months and with each management change they crack down more on residents. First they stopped frequently providing beer and wine, then they started threatening to tow cars, then they were emailing once a week about leashing dogs, now they have banned residents from the refrigerators.
