Lived here for a little over a year
I have lived at Cameron Creek for about 13 months; I'm ready to go. The entire time that I have lived here, the jets in the hot tub have not worked. Also, the eliptical machine in the fitness center is rusting and leaving two little lines of rust on the floor. The fitness center doesn't get cleaned and I usually have to clean it up myself. The pools are closed supposedly, due to structural concerns, by the city. No playground and nothing for the kids to do except fingerpaint on the sides of my car and come up with Ed-Ed-n-Eddy type schemes to knock on my door, trying to make money. I am looking for another place and will be moving at the end of my lease, thank you.

Heavy urine smell every time it rains or is humid. Management is condescending
Heavy urine smell every time it rains or is humid. Management is condescending and impolite. They must not get paid for new leases as you stand around while the staff laughs and talks on the phone. There are "night crawlers" people or kids that hang out in the parking lot while sitting and scratching up any car within convenient proximity. Getting something repaired there is virtually impossible. Forget about any considerations from management once you have signed the lease because once you move in you become invisible to them receiving scorching scowles when they see you coming. Aside from all that and a hell of a lot more this place is an alternate heaven.

Unhappy
we didn't even move in but we went through the app. process and not only was that a headache in itself, I feel they treated us unfairly in the process which in turn changed our minds all together. There were a couple of helpful girls in the office, however it's management I really question. We will not be moving here.

Public Pool
I lived at Cameron Creek for 4 years. Loved my apartment...very spacious and I would have stayed but they went downhill. I don't know where the people of come from that have moved in lately but it is scarey. I recently stayed there at a friends place while he was out of town to watch his dog and I couldn't believe the partys that went on at night time at the pool. Half the people that were there didn't even live there. I was sitting on the blacony watching and when they were done they would walk out to where they were parked on the side and go right out the front gate. And then after I moved I found out that I was paying way more than anyone else was in the complex. I was paying 595 for a large 1 bedroom and everyone else I talked to was paying 530. Crazy!! And John is the biggest prick you will ever meet if you do move here. He really thinks that he is GOD...if he only knew that he was in the slums and that he really shouldn't think that his crap doesn't stink.

Nice Apartment, bad maintenance
I love my apartment, it seems bigger than it really is and the floorplan is nice for a one bedroom, especially for the price. The parking around my building sucks, but other buildings don't seem to have the same problem. Most neighbors are really nice, although a few seem alittle ------. Only real complaint is that of the few maintenance calls I have had to make none have been attended in a timely fashion. My last apartment actually nailed my front door shut on accident, but at least they showed up. My disposal went out here and it took 3 weeks for someone to finally come fix it.

Killer Cockroaches
My two roommates and I moved in almost a year ago and when we first did a walk through of our first apt the manager opened the door to the closet hall and 3 cockroaches ran out. Not a big deal, they're just bugs and he assured us that our apt would be sprayed before the move in date.
The first two months after moving in, the cockroaches kept multiplying. We tried everything from spraying the outside of the doors to the cockroach motels and never left food out. It was kind of odd, since we lived on the second floor but it wasnt until after another two times of getting sprayed for bugs that we figured out where they were coming from.
We were friends with one of the maintenance guys on staff and he alerted us that our next door neighbors were NASTY. He said and I quote, "I opened the door to fix the sink and I saw hundreds on the floors, walls and countertops." Apparently the cockroack colony had been entering our apt through the ajoinging sink pipe... sick! They had such a bad infestation that our apt and theirs had to get a complete spray downā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Can I get some help?
Well I am thankfully not a resident at Avery Pointe. Last week I was out looking at apartments because my husband and I are looking to move from our current ones. When we walked into the office we waited and waited and finally after about 5 minutes someone saw us but never came to greet us and never approached us about living there. Unfortunantly we were not the only ones there were 3 couples total that ended up walking out without even so much as a Hello from a staff member! I was extremely disappointed and would never consider living at Avery Pointe, what if it had of been an emergency? Not a good experience at all!!!

Very nice semi-gated community
I moved in about month ago (15 JAN 07). The place is spacious and generally quiet. Occasionally there's been a loud neighbor, but its the exception. Anything that I've needed done has been attended to quickly. The management has bent over backwards to help. The biggest problem I have is with one hot water faucet in the bathroom that won't hold pressure and rattles if it gets too low, but I'm told there is a contract out to fix this. Garbage bins are emptied regularly and often, even when not completely full. Overall, the place is clean and well maintained. I'd easily recommend the place to anyone. If you are military, they waive the security deposit.

There were several problems with noise, but management took care of it. I feel the current management has done a great job and have always been respectful and polite. It is not really a maintenance or management problem. It is tenants who don't know how to live in apartments that is the problem.

Kind of Scaery
Right after signing a lease agreement here and before moving in, I ran across this sight and was shocked.
I just couldn't believe it could be all that bad. OH MY...

ITS ALL TRUE!!!!!!!!! EVERY SINGLE STORY!

Ever since driving up with the furniture to unload it has been nothing but trouble. A little of each of the past stories .

I am the type---"if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all", but, but, but..ummm zipping my mouth shut! Cant go into every detail, this web page isn't big enough.

I don't find that it is as much management or mainteance that is the problem, its owners of the property. In the end if they don't know how to run/own property like this, then sell to someone that "knows" the business and can budjet management and maintenance correctly so they can do their job. All problems falls back on the owners.

I do have to say the lead Maintenance Man does his best! He is deticated, and polite! It's good to go!
I've been here since 11/05 and I have never had a problem worth writing about. My heat went out on the coldest day possible last year late in the afternoon on a Saturday. They brought two heaters to the apt and I was satisfied. The step broke, the fixed it the next day. My food disposal broke, fixed the next day. My sliding glass door lock broke, fixed the next day. Shower dripped, fixed the next day. Noise, occasionally from downstairs, talked to the them, fixed on the spot. I just read that the dumpsters are always full.. Well, why does everyone wait until the last minute to dump thier garbage? There are plenty of dumpsters. The pool area is like it is anywhere. I don't care for the 12 am to 4 am people but they are usually quiet. The staff have always treated me fairly. Very professional and courteous when I inquire to anything. The price is very reasonable. In essence. I really enjoyed my stay there. I would stay longer but I wanted to move closer to my job.ā¦Ā See More>anonymous

too much fun in the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When i first moved in there was a young couple having sex in the pool!!! A lady had came in the office screaming because her child was out there swimming as this was going on.I also agree, that it takes for ever to get anything fixed around here. When i moved in my carpet was horrible, there are big stains and patches covered up with a totally different color carpet. The dumpsters are also always overflowwing with garbage.

Nice stay
I lived here from June 2000 to November 2006 and it only got better with time. The old managment was alright, but I liked it when the new managment took over. The last crew I saw in the office always helped me with whatever I needed. It is an older place, but very well kept. There were times that I worried about who was moving in but that seemed to stop about a year ago. These other complaints on here weren't anything I experienced.

I think people complain to much!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ive lived here for only a few months now but i think its a great place. If all you people think this place is "------" and "nasty" then why did you choose to live here? You could of payed a hella lot more across the street and still have to deal with the same bull.

If I only knew...
Overall the experience has been below average!!! I don't have any issues with noise or anything like that. I can testify to the reports of garbage and dog poo everywhere because just last week I stepped in a big pile at night time and tracked it all in my car without noticing what had happened. Both my roomate and I have had our cars broken into within a 2 week timespan. We have an invasion of ants eveytime we sit a food or drink item on our counter top and management has been vowing to fix the problem and months later, we still have ant problems. I think the staff is pretty friendly, just not managed to well in my opinion and the level of professionalism isn't very high. Bottomline, if you are looking for something economical and something to fit your budget if cash is tight on you and you have no other options then the "Creek" might not be a bad option. But, if you have a little more expendable income and aren't as strapped for cash then I would highly recommend you seek other options!!!

Welcome to the Middle Class ------....
My roommates and I have lived at the Avery Point apartments for 9 months now, and have gone through three different managements. Nothing has improved yet.

If you like apartments where things take months and months to get fixed, if at all, and the "community features" are always breaking, then this is the place for you.
The hot tub hasn't worked since we have been there.

The gate breaks all the time. Half of the time it is propped open with orange street cones that people steal from the street. There was a lady going in to the apartments who had the gate shut on her and damage her vehicle and the management told her that it was too bad because they are not liable for the gate.

We have asked for our roof to be fixed over 7 times, and the leak in it is so bad now that whenever it rains, the wall bubbles up and turns a horrid color, and there are stains clear down the wall. Anyone currently live here!?!?
Hello,
I have been looking into this complex for awhile. It looks really nice, i was impressed with the outside as well as the interior. I am fixing to sign a contract but then i stumbled across this site. Most of the post are old...however they all follow the same script..."avery point sucks" This disturbs me as well as "opininated" obviously being the manager of the place and trying to pretend they are not. My question is this, are there any current residants that can give me an idea of what to expect? how do you feel about the place?

Thanks!

BE WARNED---DO NOT MOVE HERE---PSYCHO'S LIVE ON THE PREMISES!!!
I have been living at Cameron Creek Apts. since the summer of 2003. I must admit, up until about a year to a year and a half ago I was very satisfied. Once the management was changed that was when the complex went to hell. The leasing office consultants are constantly lying about little things such as when the treadmill in the gym will be repaired (I was told ~2 weeks and it took ~6 months). Maintenance was changed as well with the new management and it is also terrible. You have to put in a written request at least 3 times to get something repaired. To confirm the other comments posted, there is dog poop and trash all over the property constantly. To top it all off, on July 26th around 9:00 p.m. my down stairs neighbor (an old white male) had a psychotic episode and decided to beat my front door in with a hammer. He was evicted, but when I called Trivest to discuss the terms of my lease, my calls were not returned. there is poop everywhere!!!
be sure and watch were you walk...there is dog poop everywhere!!! and trash along to go with it. and late at night there are hoodlums hanging out in the parking lot..feels like you are living in como or stop six. oh and the pool might as well be a city pool. the language and the beer drinking is out of control!! and if you do want to go out there it is not ever opened when it is suppose to be. and the manager john is an idiot..he thinks he is the "man" and the rest of the office is young kids that do not know anything! they always have to get back with you and sometimes that doesn't even happen. when you drive by it looks like a nice place..they do keep that part mowed and looking good but once you come in the gate...you are entering the slums!!

Trivest management, I sued and won!
I had to sue these apartments. I sued a manager because I was advised to do so, but the management company (Trivest Residential) paid the bill. Obviously, they were responsible. The manager I sued was named Ashley Callahan and one of the owners of Trivest Residential is Ron K. Taylor.
I was seven months pregnant when my apartment flooded. That was only the last straw. It started with standing water and algae in the back yard, dog feces all over the property, a filthy swimming pool and chemical residue and cigarette burns all over my carpet when I moved in! I have photos!
They said they would fix this stuff and never, ever followed up. Then when my apartment flooded, I was told to "Live in it". They did all they legally had to do!
It was disgusting and I had mildew in the apartment when I left. I was very pregnant and forced to move because it was disgusting. It took me about 21 days to legally sever my lease on the grounds of; Failure to disclose ownership, Failure to remedy repairs that are of an immediate threat to health and safety and Failure to return deposit in full within 30 days.ā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Not as bad as some say
It seems like these reviews fall into two categories, those written by pissed off former tenants and those written by staff members. They are either horrible or oozing with fakeness.

Basically, I have lived here for over a year and since I have moved in things have gotten progressively worse. The rent is good, the electric bills are bad. The staff is very friendly, the maintenance staff is not always competent (more than one guy to fix stuff often).

It is not the best place to live, but then again for the cost it is quite a bargain. The pools are not that bad, and in fact when the staff pays attention to them they are not bad. The parking situation is bad in some places and in others it is okay. The quality of the apartments depends on the former residents.

My apartment for the most part is fairly good.
