Do not live here
I strongly advise against living here. The complex is unsafe, with cars constantly being broken into, and I haven’t even been here for 30 days before two people tried to break in in the middle of the afternoon while I was home. I told the front office and they said sorry for the unconvinced but have done nothing about it. Trash is always overflowing and smells, and there’s litter scattered throughout the property including razor blades, bottles, and food, which makes it unsanitary and leads to pests. With that there is also a persistent roach infestation, no matter how clean you keep your apartment or the bug spray people come. Maintenance is unhelpful and neglectful; they don’t address issues in a timely manner and have even used my personal items without permission. The property is noisy, I can hear everything my neighbor does and when they shower the pipes literally scream until they’re done. There is constant marijuana smoking outside. Parking is a nightmare yes you get one covered spot to yourself but it’s cramped making it hard to park and not get hid by others doors. The other spaces are taken by broken-down vehicles or long-term storage vehicles that never move, leaving little room for residents to have more than one car or guests. The free spots are also cramped, and it’s easy for someone to accidentally hit your car with their door. Overall, this complex is unsafe, dirty, and poorly managed. I cannot recommend living here please go anywhere else.

Disappointing. On site courtesy Officer 2024-2026.
I lived there from June - 2024 to March - 2026 and was the on-site Courtesy Officer. I had exclusive access to tenants, property policies, property amenities, etc. I found it to be in a constant state of disrepair, had constant water outages, auto vandalism and theft, gang activity, and found it to be unsafe and lacked overall civility. It is not gated and poorly lit at night and the general public uses the property as a cut-thru off Beach St. Vehicles are constantly speeding through the property. The paved areas (streets, parking lots, sidwalk) are in a constant of disrepair. I provided monthly reports to the property management team with detailed information on tenant complaints, safety issues, property lighting, vagrancies, and police reports. I worked regularly with the police and departmental detectives regarding suspicious activities on-site as well as performing around the clock property inspections. Property management took little to no action to improve civility or safety. I do not recommend this property.

I have lived here for about a year and I must say, I enjoyed living here. Apartments are a little older and small but you get what you pay for. office managment is very nice, and helpful. Anything that broke would be fixed usually in 24 hours. I enjoyed how quiet it is here and unlike a lot o apartments, the managment never bother you here. I have talked to other people who used to live here who only said good things. my main issue was the parking. You are given a carport with your apartment but the parking lot is so tight, there is not mich space to drive around. I would recommend here.

I love Fossil Ridge! I have lived here since March 2010 and the staff have been very nice and any service requests have been done in a timely manner. For the most part it is quiet for me. I keep to myself and don't nosey into other people's business so I haven't had any problems with the neighbors. As far as safety goes: you can't predict crime because unfortunately it happens everywhere. You must take your own safety precautions ie, keep your door locked at all times, and keep your key in your hands when walking to and from your car and apartment. I see bad reviews for every property because of safety. Be realistic people!! I would definitely recommend this place. It's a low price and comfortable, nice place to call home!

Terrible apartments, terrible management!
My Mom is moving out finally, we wish she could have gotten out sooner. She feared for her safety there, a woman in her building was recently robbed after being forced into her apartment at gunpoint. There is loud partying, excessively loud music, and all management told her to do was to have a face to face meeting with the tenant to come to a compromise for when he can play his music loud. Even though management told her they receive numerous complaints on these tenants, they don't do anything about it. A van was parked in a parking spot that was closest to the building for over a year with flat tires, and out of date stickers, and management would not do anything about it. They told her they like to allow tenants plenty of time to take care of their vehicles, but I think more than year is more than enough time. Management's priority should be on the tenants who are living there, and not allowing a car with flat tires take up the closest spot to the building for over a year. There are piles of trash everywhere, the complex is being treated like a junkyard, piles and piles of couches, tvs, etc are being dumped and left for months at a time. There are cigarette butts and beer bottles everywhere. Burnt out lights go unfixed for weeks, which is a safety issue. I used to manage apartments and I am appalled at how these apartments are managed. Don't be fooled by the pretty landscaping at the entrance, just keep driving and you will see all the problems.

Love it!
This is a really great place to live with a great staff and neighbors. I have lived here for two years and this is by far the most quiet apartment complex I have lived in and your neighbors are very respectful of that. Great floor plans and just a great overall place to live. The only thing bad is the parking if you want to have visitors over on a regular basis, but since I don't, it has pretty much been a non issue. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, friendly property.

WARNING!!!!!!!
These apartments are going to give the entire Fossil Creek area a bad name! I quickly moved out to a neighboring property (Hidden Lakes) and found the professional management and higher standards for living that I was looking for. I complained to staff about 3 abandoned cars (that were still there when I left) and nothing was ever done. The parking situation was a nightmare...definantly not extra room for your guests (or broken down/abandoned cars). Office staff is rude at best. Maintenance seems somewhat knowledgeable, but tends to be lazy. If you have a desire for a clean and professional environment DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Okay apartments for non-professional, first time renter, who likes to have a good time and doesn't have to be at work the next morning.

DONT GO THERE!!!
UNSAFE! UNSAFE! Horrible mangement! (Unprofessional, rude and dont speak to you if they see you on the sidewalk, two hot tubs broken for at least six months while they say they are getting estimates on repairs) NOISE (All night pool parties, drunks and noise included) UNSAFE (Crime has moved in & I moved out) NOISE (I heard my upstairs neighbors squeeking bed all the time) UNSAFE (lighting around walkways burned out everywhere) UNSAFE (the cops are there several times a week, yes a week!) Dirty (Hello to roaches that never go away) Dirty! (When I moved in my apartment was dirty, I even had a scrub the bathrub out from the last resident) Please dont be fooled by the nice appearance at the front gate and keep on going past N. Beach. The absolutely worst place I have ever lived. And the management talks about other residents behind their backs. It reminds me of high school gossip.

Community Issues Ignored By Manager
The manager should spend more time on the community isues that devalue the property rather than posting to true and correct reviews! I left Fossil Ridge because the community became one big fiesta EVERY NIGHT, ALL NIGHT! I felt unsafe by the loitering, public drinking, and peddlers. The apartments are quite nice, but the activities that are tolerated will have you moving out quick.

awful!!!!!
we should have gotten the hint when we came to check out the apt and one of the staff in the front office waived us away. we moved in, in august and immediately put in a work form to have pretty much everything fixed. it took 5 1/2 months and a letter threatening to call taa for them to even come look at the apt. they still havent fixed everything and weve been here for almost 8 months. the staff is very rude and not helpful at all. i would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy!!!

Glad I'm outta here!
I'm so glad I moved. The neighborhood started to deteriorate my last year there...not sure why...I guess their standards were lowered. After only a few months my car was stolen from the parking lot, my neighbors apt was broken into during the middle of the day, another neighbors dog was stolen, I could probably go on and on. Strange people walk up to you in the parking lot...it's really creepy. Beach street is too busy of a street not to have a gate at this apt complex. At least it will deter soliciter's and thieves. About the noise, I had 4 people living above me in a 1 bedroom, talk about NOISE! I realize this isn't the apartment managers fault, but it's just one instance of what kind of people live here. There's Tejano music that blasts during the summer. Cigarette butts liter the ground, along with the other trash. My dog would always pick up nasty stuff from someone's chicken bones they threw out or other unmentionables. Still makes me sick thinking about it. Lots of noise, lots of trash, dirty and filthy. Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED. I'm sure the last few posts have been by management...since they are only days apart. I would overlook this place and keep on searching.

Nice Place
I've been here 2 1/2 years. I have been very happy here. The people in the office are all great. The maitenance guys are Johnny on the spot. I have never had to wait more than a couple days for any maintenance problems to be taken care of. I will renew my lease, when it is up for renewal

Love the Landsacping and Hills
I love the landscaping and rolling hills here at Fossil Ridge. My maintenance request's have been handled quickly and each time I have gone to the office they call me by name. I have covered parking and don't even have to pay them for it! My trash is picked up curbside what more could you want?

Been here this long
I have read some of the reviews on the internet of other apt complex and thought I would write something about the place I live in. I have lived here with my daughter since the summer of 2007. I have a good size 2 bed apt for a good price. The people in the office have been wonderful to us. My daughter has come home from school and was locked out the manager walked her to the apartment and unlocked the door for her. Maintenance has stayed on top of any issues that i have had. They are constantly having activities in the office. The pool behind the office is nice and I like having pinics in the courtyard with my daughter. Love the fact we have trash pickup..... :) I have enjoyed my time here and plan to sign another lease when my expires.

Hated to leave
After one year at fossil Ridge, my job tranferred me. If I were not leaving the area, I would definitely have stayed. The property is absolutely beautiful. When guest would come to visit, they would always comment on the landscaping. All in the office were great. They always knew me by name. My family spent hours at the pool area. I spent many an hour, relaxing in the hot tub. Their pool party was great. My kids had a blast, in the big boucy hose, and all the goodies. It was very nice having covered parking, since we had just bought a new truck before moving there. We never had to wait, if we had a maintenance issue, which were very few. They saved me amy a step, with the curbside trash pickup.I hope my new place is half as nice as Fossil Ridge.

no complaints here
I have been a resident here for coming up on two years now and I moved in when I was 21 years old. There has never been a problem with noise, bugs, or anything else. I always have hot water and the staff has been understanding with me and generally just good people. The rent is reasonable and the location is ideal. I had a roommate originally and when he moved back to Kentucky to be with his family I stayed and got into a one bedroom by myself. During the daytime everyone goes to work and at night they go to sleep. I really don't have anything negative to say about this complex. Thanks.

Wishing we could move back!
Moving away from Fossil Ridge is the biggest mistake we have ever made. My boyfriend was the porter from 2004-2005 and we were very happy there. We never ever had a bug problem while living there. Infact, this is the one apartment that we've lived at that we never even saw a bug!! All of our neighbors were wonderful. We never had a noise issue and made many friends. The only reason we moved away was the personal BS between my boyfriend and the remaining maintenance staff. Very perverted men and a B of a house keeper. Now that being said, the house keeper is no longer there (thank goodness). So as you see...all the reasons we left were personal. However, we loved the office personnel...they are wonderful people. At the time Gina was the accountant and became the manager soon after we left. She is a sweet woman and I would love for her to be my landlord. I feel like if I ever had a problem she would take care of it as soon as possible. We have never been happier and hopefully we can move back in a few months. The pet restrictions are no dogs over 40 pounds and ours is 44...we are trying to see if with more exercise and a better diet if she can't shed a few pounds, but she is pretty muscular. If it wasn't for that we would have moved back YEARS ago. We always felt safe in this community and they have an officer that lives on the premises. They are always well lit and you don't have to walk very far until you get to your front door. We also miss free covered parking! Anyone who complains about parking at Fossil Ridge needs to live at Barrington! They nickle and dime you until your barely making rent! And if you don't pay for a covered parking spot then your butt is walking a mile to get to your front door...literally. Who could afford the luxury of covered parking or a garage with the new pet rent of $20 per dog? We have 2 dogs and the new fee is killing us. We are paying $678 for an one bedroom apartment we hate. They are even talking about a $5 trash fee...yet they don't curbside pick up or anything...and have only 1 compactor. Fossil Ridge has 4 dumpsters...and they are not cockroach infested. My boyfriend was the one cleaning up what people couldn't seem to put in the dumpster and I would walk with him every morning for awhile...trust me I wouldn't stand anywhere that was cockroach infested. That's a complete lie. Oh and they curbside pick up AND there is no fee. All of our utility bills were very low and water was only $20 for 2 people in a one bedroom. The grounds are beautiful. I must say when it rains it does get mossy in the back of the complex, but they power wash often to get rid of any dangerous messes. What do you expect? They are built on a hill! I think people need to stop complaining it's not the offices fault. The whole time he worked there, there was never a problem of flooding of any kind in apartments! I seriously doubt that when people come to fix the carpet that they would tear up your apartment and run up your bills like some other person claimed. That sounds ridiculous. In fact, the office was on my boyfriend's case cause a man claimed his paintball gun had been stolen and my boyfriend had been in his apartment that day. It was a mess and a complete lie, but they throughly addressed the situation. I doubt that anyone in managment wouldn't be on someone's case if a piece of your property was broken or damaged in any way, but you have to tell them for them to help you. Duh! I hope my dog will lose weight enough for us to move back. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone. It maybe not be the biggest with the gym, sand volleyball court, and 3 pools with 3 hot tubs but trust me the small community is the way to go unless your a big party freak. I get tired of all the noise a larger community brings and I hope we can have the peace that we once had at Fossil Ridge again. Move there...you won't be disappointed.

Sick of roaches
I am so sick of the roach problem! I hate turning on my lights at night and watch them scurry across the floor!! It's disgusting! After discussing with my neighbors, it seems to be a property infestation. I gave my notice to end my lease - I can't wait to move out! I only hope that I don't take them with me!!

THE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX I'VE EVER LIVED IN...
I LIVED IN THE FOSSIL RIDGE COMMUNITY FOR 6 MONTHS. I JUST MOVED OUT 07/31/2007 ACTUALLY. LIVING IN THESE APARTMENTS WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I COULD'VE MADE. EVERYTIME (WITHOUT FAIL) IT RAINED, MY APARTMENT FLOODED. THE BEDROOMS, THE BATHROOMS, ETC... A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! IMAGINE COMING HOME TO AN APARTMENT WITH THE CARPET COVERED IN WATER. ANYTHING THAT YOU HAD LAYING ON THE FLOOR BEING SOAKED AND RUINED. I HAD TO THROW AWAY A LOT OF STUFF. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR MY COUCH AND RUG TO BE CLEANED. I TRIED TO CALL THE LEASING OFFICE TO GET ASSISTANCE WITH MY ISSUE AND THEY WERE NO HELP. THEY KEPT SENDING OUT THE CARPET CLEANERS... WHO TORE UP THE PADDING AND JUST REPLACED IT WITH NEW PADDING. NOTE: THIS WAS A CYCLE FOR OVER 5 MONTHS... MY APARTMENT BEGAN TO SMELL LIKE MOLD AND I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH GEICOS, ANTS, SPIDERS, SLUGS AND MOLD GROWING ON THE WALLS, GETTING IN TO THE APARTMENT BECAUSE THEY WOULD PULL UP THE CARPET AND WAIT SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE COMING BACK TO GLUE THE CARPET BACK DOWN TO THE GROUND. THE CARPET PEOPLE WOULD ENTER MY APARTMENT WITHOUT PERMISSION AND IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ON MY FLOOR WHEN THEY CAME, THEY WOULD THROW IT ANYWHERE... SINKS, BATHTUBS, KITCHEN FLOOR... IMAGINE COMING HOME FROM A LONG DAY AT WORK TO FIND THAT YOUR EXPENSIVE SHOES AND CLOTHES HAD BEEN THROWN IN TO A BATHTUB OR SINK OR EVEN A DIRTY KITCHEN FLOOR! THEY WOULD ALSO TURN ON MY AIR CONDITIONER (TO THE MAX) AND LEAVE ALL LIGHTS IN MY APARTMENT GOING- WITHOUT MY CONSENT- I HAD TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL COST ON MY ELECTRIC BILL. THEY EVEN BROKE ONE OF MY VASES AND DID NOT LEAVE A NOTE TO APOLOGIZE OR INFORM ME THAT IT HAPPENED. THE LEASING OFFICE STAFF OR THE MAINTENANCE GUYS WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS OR HOW THEY WOULD GO ABOUT FIXING IT. THE FLOODING WITH MY APARTMENT GOT SO BAD, THAT I ASKED THE MANAGER COULD I BE RELOCATED TO ANOTHER UNIT (WITH THE MOVING BEING DONE AT THEIR EXPENSE) THEY WOULD NOT MOVE ME TO ANOTHER UNIT UNLESS I SIGNED ANOTHER 6 MONTH LEASE. DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE FLOODING WAS THEIR FAULT, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE FLOOD OR HOW TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY ENDED UP LETTING ME OUT OF MY LEASE 1 MONTH EARLY INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CORRECT THE ISSUES WITH MY APARTMENT AND KEEP ME AS A TENNAT THEY WOULD PREFER TO LOSE A GOOD PAYING, LOYAL TENNAT I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH FOSSIL RIDGE AND THEIR MANAGEMENT STAFF WHO WERE VERY RUDE AND NOT AT ALL CONCERNED WITH THE PROBLEMS I HAD WITH MY APARTMENT. THEY ACTED AS IF I COMING TO THEM FOR ASSISTANCE WAS A BOTHER TO THEM. THEY DID NOTHING TO COMPENSATE ME FOR MY INCONVIENCES. I PAID MY RENT AND WATER BILL ON TIME. I WAS NEVER LATE. I WAS A GREAT TENNANT. I WOULD VE LIKED TO RENEW MY LEASE WITH FOSSIL RIDGE, BUT DUE TO THE WAY MY SITUATION WAS HANDLED I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE TO LIVE! THEY ARE GOING TO NEED TO PULL UP ALL THE CARPET AND HAVE IT REPLACED. THERE IS NO WAY THAT CARPET IS STILL USABLE

I am the Apt. Manager and I wanted to address the personal comments from 8-25-05.

I am very sorry that your experience here was less than perfect. We do have residents that move for some reason or another but they often move back in with us. We had 2 returning residents just last week. Don't be Fooled
I lived here several years ago. Some parts were nice and some were a little noisy. Especially, when the kids came running through the breezeway. The dumpsters were always overflowing and cockroaches were aplenty around the garbage. They also had a serious ant problem. If they weren't coming from behind the stove, they were coming from behind the drain in the bathroom.

The leasing agent, Lisa, dressed like a prostitute. All apartment staff are nice, unless you start complaining about anything. Oh, and by the way, wasn't there a young woman that was raped at an apartment complex in that area???!

I would like to see some reviews from current residents.
