We just moved in a few days ago but Joshua, Jennifer, Neal, Elizabeth and everyone we've dealt with have been extremely helpful and professional. The grounds are beautiful and excellently maintained (a hallmark of the Finger Companies properties). I will say that we lived at another Finger property for over ten years so moving here was an easy decision as we were aware of the high standards and quality service provided to all their residents. Cable isn't an issue as U-verse from AT&T is available and works great for TV and Internet. The workout room is spacious and well equipped and the pool area is wonderfully landscaped and well laid out. This complex is the best value in this area and the location is fantastic. I expect we will be happy residents for many, many years.

I'm honestly surprised these apartments are ranked so high. Our apartment was on the first floor. We had a large bug problem (ants, beetles, roaches)- even after they sprayed twice. We eventually figured out the roaches were coming in through our drains at night, however, were told that nothing could be done. We also had a HORRENDOUSLY loud family above us, there were times I thought our ceiling was going to cave in. Ourselves and other apartments around them reported the incident to the front office multiple times, however, no action was taken. The workers in the front office are inept (even the manager has no idea what's going on) and have lost various paperwork multiple times, however, there is one young man there that does seem semi-competent. There are always children in the pool, which is great if you have kids not so great if you don't. The worst part about the entire experience was the fact we were told that we were required to have WaveVision after multiple failings on the part of the front office to send in the proper documentation stating that the prior leaser no longer lived in the unit. IT IS BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. It was expensive, horrible costumer service, and no channels - we went 3 weeks with only 10 channels then had to drive 30 minutes to get a new box. Keep in mind the only reason we had to have this horrible provider is because the front office has a deal with them. However I will say that I did feel safe while living there and it's nice having a Kroger so close. They are also going through the apartments and putting wood flooring in. Overall I would say the negatives outweigh the positives. It's not terrible to live there, but not worth the price.

I have lived in these apartments for two years and have been very pleased overall with the management and maintenance of the complex! I am proud to bring my friends and family here and always bring them in to see the facilities in the main building. I used the computer facilities when I first moved in and find the entire building friendly and attractive looking. The pool is beautiful and I enjoy using it. I read other reviews and do agree that the bug situation is not good. I am on the bottom floor and thought that might be a part of my problem. The exterminator crew are nice, and do come on their day when I've made a request, but it doesn't seem to take care of the problem...though the roaches I see are dying or dead...it is still a problem. My main reason for writing this review is to praise the maintenance staff. All have been polite and knowledgable and come the next day after I request help. My most recent experiences have been with Jose- once with my air-conditioner and once with a fan problem. He came in and immediately changed the filter and went to check the compressor. He kept checking back to see if the problem was fixed. He told me to let him know if the compressor kept running endlessly....and he would do the next step in maintenance. My electric bill was much higher than last summer so I'm anxious to see if his work made a difference in that. Certainly, it made a difference in my inside temperature and I don't hear the compressor running constantly. My overhead fans were so wobbly that my daughter and friends noticed when visiting. Jose came in and tightened and added some screws and it is much better. I just feel safer knowing that any problem will be addressed and taken care of with our maintenance staff! I was disappointed to read what others said about this complex. I am very happy here and wonder if some people just complain without asking for help or a solution to their problems! Call the office. You will get results! And....take a walk around our complex. It is lovely and well taken care of! I'm proud to show it off to my friends and family and would recommend it to others!

Village at West University is a beautiful place to live. The staff is friendly, helpful, and well informed. The maintenance staff is exceptional and works until the problem is resolved. The grounds are well kept along with a beautiful pool and nice work out facility. I have spoken to several of the tenants most long time tenants which speaks volumes. They all have compliments and love the community. I would recommend the apartments to anyone.

I have lived in this complex on prior occasions, and most recently, temporarily while my home is being built. I am so disappointed. I have had roach problems, constant noise from utilities and living of those above. And, prompting me to write the review is that today my kitchen sink decided to stop up. When I called it in early afternoon, I was told maintenance was not available and they would get back to me. I had to call two additional times only to find out that "my problem was not a priority, and they were backed up with maintenance calls from the weekend". Last time I checked, being able to eat (e.g. the use of your kitchen) should be a priority. I will be talking with a manager tomorrow, and as I write, my kitchen sink is still stopped up, which is just gross. At least I am only here for another 6 weeks, but am certainly disappointed for the money that is paid.

My experience has been good. The maintenance staff is hands down, the best I have ever experienced. Although there has been some turnover with the office staff, the current staff is top notch. They have handled my requests professionally and in a timely manner. I look forward to getting to know them all better. I love this community and I am very pleased with how well maintained everything is.

When I read the negative comments below I wonder if we live at the same place. I have never had bug problems. The staff is always friendly, and very helpful. Most people get what they give. I have had nothing but a great experience.

I have lived in this complex for 3 years and have had very positive experiences with our new manager, Joshua, and his staff. They have been courteous and helpful to me. I appreciate the honest approach they have taken when conveying information to residents. They get a big "thumbs up" from me.

I have been living at this property for about three and half years. For the last few months quality of service in the leasing office has gone down so much. Most of the times nobody is at the front desk in the leasing office. You see staff smoking in the parking garages frequently. I'm not as satisfied as before.

I have a calendar on which I am counting down the days left till my lease ends or rather till 2 weeks before my lease ends. I cannot move out of here fast enough. The huge advantage the complex has is its location. It is in a great location, freeway access, zoned to a great school, etc. But for me although the maintenance folks are awesome, the office staff are nice, crazy "break the door down" neighbors, INFESTATIONS, old inefficient energy sucking appliances have me counting down, I'll even move before my lease is up.

I have lived at West University now for about 2 years and I will say this. I absolutely enjoy every bit of my time here. Its a beautiful apartment complex in a great area. The Kroger being right behind us has been a HUGE life saver for me; the management at the office are always pleasant. There was Cherie that was there for some time, then a gentleman Sammy that filled in and now Joshua and all of them have been so incredible accommodating and really hold up to the "Finger" standard. I love the grounds here and the pool is wonderful in the summer. Great neighbors and I ve had the pleasure to meet a lot of people at different events the office would hold. maintenance has alllllways been great I ve had an issue with my water heater that actually ended up flooding my apartment.... that did suck very badly but Willie and crew were so quick so fast and very attentive which made it all so much easier to handle but within 2 days everything was back to normal, shampooing was done, everything was addressed that needed to be. But over all I give West University a gold star :) thanks you guys!

We have lived at the Village at West University now for several years have seen many changes in property management, recently a new manager, in our opinion he is doing a outstanding job, a simple point, happen to see him walking the property "he would actually pick-up any trash that he would come across" might not seem like much, but as a owner at one time of 22 units in the Monterrey, California area it showed a real respect not only for his position but a point of concern / pride. We have also notice in a short time many things are being done, trees being "properly prune" staff is much more attentive, a overall sincere and friendly feeling. TV@WU as we all know is a prime location, but is getting signs of age and needs some TLC, and the new management is taking that concern seriously. As we know many residents they have all been concerned, but now thankfully to see so many positive changes it is good for all concerned.

My apartment at The Village at West University was my first apartment moving to Houston after college. Being in a new city and starting a new job was a bit overwhelming, so I was apprehensive living on my own. I actually remembered the first time I visited the property, I was impressed by the gorgeous landscaping. It reminded me of a tropical resort or something in the middle of Houston! the leasing staff was very corteous and showed me all of my options! Since then, I have called The Village my home, and it has been a great experience, to say the least. The maintenance staff is quick to respond to any of my service calls, whether it was a light bulb that needs to be changed or if my a/c went out! They are also very friendly. I have made a lot of friends on property. It seems to be a community where people move to and plan to settle for a while. I am sad to be moving out, but it is only because I am getting married and moving into a house nearby with my husband. After 3 years of living here, I am very satisfied with the way I've been treated. The least I could do is write a kind review on the property :) I highly recommend this property. If you are looking for a place with a super nice office staff, a great sense of community, in a nice quiet neighborhood, conveniently placed next to lots of delicious restaurants and popular shopping centers, this is the place for you!

The Village at West University was great! My favorite part about it is Location, Location, Location. Also the floorplans are very spacious great for entertaning or just kicking back with a book. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The maintenance team is awesome at getting whatever you need fixed in a timely manner. The staff in the front office are beyond friendly and extremely helpful! They knew me by name after only a short period of time living here. The only reason for my leaving The Village at West U is needing to get a place closer to my new job.

Living at The Village at West University
My wife and I both came to The Village at West University 11 years ago. Naturally we would of not stay or recommended the complex to others globally if we were not completely satisfied. As you become aware of your surrounding and the amenities they all become more familiar, and "consequently you can fine fault with anything" The Village @ West University has dealt with any and all issues in the most professional and expeditious manner possible always. Bottom Line: Apartment living here could not get any better.

Location Location Location
If your looking for a great location to live in Houston, then this is theplace for you. I have been here for a year now and it is like coming home to a 5 star resort. The apt's are spacious, the poolside is my own tropical oasis, the gym is fabulous and the Mangagement staff are nothing but friendly and accomodating. 2 thumbs up on the Village of W. University

Problems after problems
I was very disappointed with this property. It looks nice from outside, but once you move in you realize that there are break-ins and other safety problems all the time. Did not definitely feel safe there and felt a huge relief once I moved out. During my time there, I e.g. saw a couple of cars standing on concrete blocks, their wheels gone. The exit gate is supposed to be secure, but anyone can follow your car in. I definitely don't recommend this property to anyone. Not sure if they have fixed the problems now, but at least when I was there it was a total disappointment.

A Fraud place, Stay away!!!!!!!!
We stayed there for two and half years. When we moved in , there was a old carpet. When we left, the carpet had the usual wear and tear for the period we stayed but nothing worse. They refused to do a walk in check out, although we repeated asked them. After we left the management not only refuses to give our deposit of $ 400 deposit back but we get a letter from a collection agency demanding $529, otherwise threatening to report to National credit Bureau. The management has not even bothered to inform us or send us any bill and directly reported to the collecting agency , our social security number. ( We have not received any letter from them yet). This is an attempt to unjustly extort money from us and misuse of the power of trust, by revealing our personal identification. There was a murder in the apartment complex, reported in all local news, we heard the gun shot at the middle of the night. There was occasional burglary and break out in the complex. The management did not doing anything about it. Please make sure to do a walk in check out when you leave! Very dishonest and rude management, and not a safe place to stay with kids.

TOTAL RIPOFF **Inefficient Staff and waiting for an oppurtunity to take as much money from you as possible
Since the time i moved being an old carpet always found Roaches and other bugs everyday ,pest control came only twice in 13 months,My apartment was damp all time, overall i never had so many problems in my previous 6 years living of other apartments then what i had in last 13 months that i lived, lots of break ins ,so be careful once you enter and always ask for new carpet since they trick you giving old carpet and when you move out charge you for the new carpet so no matter what is the age of carpet, you are responsible for replacement cost.if it had happened to anyone before please reply me. If you decide to move right small detailed problems about the apartment, even a small scratch since they do not care to come with you to do the move in inspection but when you move out everybody gets alert and look for small thing so that they can charge you and then they take your deposit and charge more to,all the apartments from Finger companies you will find complains where they have taken money from tenants/would be tenants for very simple reasons,so just be very careful.Do not think about how it looks from outside once you move in then you will know the reality.

Honest review, not worth the rent
This is the first time I ever write a review on ANYTHING. I've have been disappointed before with products, services, etc. but I've never been so convicted to write negatively about them until now. First of, let's start with the positives aspects of this property... Pros- *Location is great. Galleria, Med-Center, Kroger Plaza (access through a back gate). *The floor plans are pretty spacious. *High ceilings, built in bookshelves... *The maintenance staff is diligent and friendly. *Lovely bathrooms. Now on to the positive aspects... Cons- *Crime has been my number one worry since we moved here 7 months ago. I'm assuming you must have read about the shooting, the car stealing, etc. That was our first impression upon moving to this place. *The security guards go back and forth with their schedule. Sometimes they have them during the day, sometimes they don't. In all honestly I feel as if the should have them 24/7 (for obvious reasons). *Now, the apartments do include the tittle of "Luxury Apartments" on their front entrance and so far I have not seen any features on these apartments that would categorize them as luxury living. No granite counter tops or ANY new appliances. *The walls seem to have been painted over and over and over, therefore, the new coat scratches off easily. *The was once mold in the closet and the only thing they did was paint over it. *Certain things around the house you need to buy them yourself, for example in the case you needed to replace the thermostat, you would have to buy it yourself. You will even be charged for a simple adjustment to the ceiling fans (depending on the maintenance guy who fixes it). *There are a lot of roaches around the property and inside the pts. as well. *You are supposed to pay rent from the 1st to the 3rd of every month if you don't an eviction noticed will be posted on your door on the 4th. *Also, this place is not a kid friendly place at all (we are parents). *Last but not least, the personnel at the main office are not always very friendly. It seemed that once they got us to sign the lease they were careless wit the way they treated us. Once again this is my personal opinion. You can be the judge. If you have time, please do your research because I believe you could find something better for the price :)
