dont rent here
The pricing is ok for the area. I definantly suggest renting from one of the less corporate apartments in the area. The management here is just foccused on taking your money. They get you on your deposits. You will not get your deposit back no matter how clean you keep the place.

All told, good and bad...
My wife and I moved in the Spring of this year. We chose it for its competitive prices (compared to the rest of Bellevue) for the level of quality that we received. Good things: * Covered space provided with unit (monthly fee if you choose to take it) and a lot of additional free uncovered parking. * Good amenities and well maintained grounds (incl. pool and work out room.) * Helpful staff and great office hours 7 days a week. * Trash pickup and facilities well maintained. * Good neighbors * Quiet building and well constructed. Negative things: * Someone had the bright idea to put radiant heat panels in the CEILING?! I guess they never took 3rd grade science to learn that heat rises. As such, if you choose to run the heat, you'll need to either get a fan to blow at the ceiling to circulate the heat well, or turn the thermostat all the way down to 60 degrees like we do and use your own space heater. We saved quite a lot of money in this way, even though we were told that each buildings' residents share the costs of the electricity during the winter. So if we don't use any electricity, we'll still be paying a portion of everyone else's usage. * There is a lack of any designated smoking area, and some residents choose to smoke right outside windows/hallways which causes it to waft into your home. (Some are kind enough to smoke in the parking lot). * We couldn't screw anything into the ceiling, because of a typed warning from the management that the ceiling had asbestos and had to be done by a professional. Better than most places b/c of cleanliness and professionalism.

So far so good
My husband and I just recently moved into the Regent with our two year old basset hound. We have resided in two other apartment complexes before, but felt that this one deserved a decent review. We're currently renting a 1 bed 1 bath. Space: we were immediately drawn to the Regent because of the amount of space for the low price(the balcony is huge as well). Having come from California, we are used to making due with smaller spaces with sky high prices, but are happy to finally be able to stretch our legs in here with extra cash in our wallets. the kitchen is small, but the storage is sufficient for us, and even with appliances on the counter I am still able to cook all of our meals without any inconvenience. the bedroom is HUGE and has ample space for my wardrobe, as well as my husband's. Aesthetics: our apartment is newly renovated and we absolutely love the modern colors and appliances (microwave not included, so we purchased our own). the grounds and buildings are very well maintained, despite the age of the complex, and i have yet to see any pet mess left by other residents. Noise: noise is something most apartment residents learn to deal with, but our apartment has new insulation so we never hear any of our neighbors. Parking: oh my goodness this place is parking heaven. at our previous apartment complex, we had paid monthly for a covered parking spot and then drove forever to find a spot for our second car. here, the first car lot is free and we are always able to park our second vehicle in front of our place. Facilities: too cold right now to use the pool, but the gym is a decent size and has adequate equipment for an apartment. Staff: the staff here is always sweet and courteous. any time we stop by the office, they remember our names and have asked if we need any maintenance work done. no complaints here! Neighbors: although we've only encountered a couple other residents, those we have met had greeted us with a smile, hello, and a welcome. Pros/cons: spacious, quiet, newly renovated, clean, fireplace, close to down town, close to freeway access, good water pressure! - dark without a lot of sunlight reaching our unit, cold (heat comes from ceiling), no storage on balcony, carpet snags easily and shows every crumb and minor spot, small sink in kitchen for hand washing dishes, poor area for walking dogs Overall we are enjoying living here and look forward to warm weather so we can use the pool!

Think twice!
I fell in love when I did the first tour here.. Then we moved in. They wouldn't show us the actual unit until the day of move in. They told us they had a hot tub but it was closed because it was under construction. We moved in and there was no hot tub. We have lived here about 4 months and already noticed all the cupboards were ancient and hanging uneven, the faucet was leaking, the towel racks always fall off the walls, there is barely any water pressure even with a new shower head, the piping under the sink is all bad and we have had a puddle under their since we moved in even after the maintenance man "fixed it" even our front door handle as well as others have fallen off. The best was when they had maintenance workers come in to install something in our attict they took apart our closet shelving unit left in on the ground and left insulation all over the place! I was cleaning up their mess for days! Their "remodeling" was put a fresh coat of paint on the cupboards and crappy knobs and handles. Everything is too expensive to be falling apart! I hate this place so much. The office ladies are just rude. I am so tired of our electric bills being $160 in the middle of summer when we are on vacation. The dishwasher doesn't work unless you scrub every little thing off your dishes and the laundry machine is useless. This whole place is just ridiculous.

Ups and downs
We have lived in these apartments for the past year and a half and now it is time to move on. All of these postings are pretty accurate, there are some positives and negatives to living at the Regent. The size of the apartment is acceptable and not having to pay for parking is a big bonus. On the down side, the heating bills are extremely high for a 700 square foot apartment. Our total bills each month including electricity, water, sewage, and garbage removal ranged from 200 - 300 dollars. That is more then we were paying for our last town home that had central air and was over 1100 square feet. The pool and gym are really nice to have, as well as the bbq area nearby the pool. However, I believe there are around 300-400 dwellings in this complex, which means these amenities are sometimes overcrowded. The gym especially, there is a trainer that works out there daily with a few residents and at peak times, which is a bit frustrating. There are only 2 treadmills as it is. The weight room is great, if you are okay sharing with somebody that is doing a one on one with a personal trainer. To me, I felt like I was intruding on their time and space. The insides of the apartments are great at first glance but after living there for a while you start to realize that the updates that have been done are more of a cover up. The wood floors are laminate, the washer/dryers haven't been serviced in years and do not work optimally, the cupboards are painted nicely and have new hardware but are falling apart. The refrigerator and stove are mock stainless, and the fireplace for some reason doesn't give off very much heat. I actually had to close the damper a bit to really feel the warmth. Also, if you are taller then 5'8 you'll have a tough time in the shower and the pressure wasn't that great.

Pretty good Apartments
The one thing nobody has stated they kitchen does have a lot of space (cupboards)and lots of space. Yes it is narrow but if you like to cook it is not that small, Then again how many people do you have in your kitchen at one time? Heating - I shut off a the breakers and use my snuggy and heat my one room (bedtoom or main room). Using space heaters, this is a cheaper way to go. No apartment is perfect, but it is in a nice location and is a bit older. Thye have updated and it is pretty nice. I like the nice sized living room and the dinner room. I have a one bed room - washer dryer. Yes, I will have to buy a microwave but that is not a big deal for me. It has a dish washer, fridge, stove/oven & sink.

Not too bad
This place is not perfect but it's not too bad... The location is pretty good, very close to DT Bellevue, 520 and 405. The grounds are well kept and the maintenance staff is quick and efficient. However, the buildings are very old and though they were re-modeled not long ago, still, the floors are squeaky, the cabinets in the kitchen are like a hundred years old, never been chaged, there is no microwave (and, frankly, there is no room for one, as the kitchens are tiny). Too much traffic noise as it's too close to 520. And the heating bill in winter is absolutely huge. I do not use a lot of electricity, however, my bill for 1-bedroom apartment was about $150 a month. I guess, you can turn the heat off completely during a day if you are not in, to save some money, but the problem is, - it takes a few hours for the apartment to get warm after you turn the heat on again. Outrageous. The parking is ample, never had a problem with guest parking. Horribly cheap washer and dryer.

VERY PEACEFUL! I LOVE THE GROUNDS!
I rented about two weeks ago, and I'm so excited to live in such a beatiful green community. I experienced this community to be very clean and keeped up, all my neighbors are wonderful and freindly. Even though this place is not right in downtown I feel like I'm a minutes away from all excitment! The apartments are very spacious and have new upgrades that look great! I definetly recommend this community.

yanked us around
We haven't even moven into The Regent and have been completely turned off. The Regent is beautiful and we loved it when we toured a 2 bedroom townhouse. We paid the $100 to hold a place for us as we wouldn't move for 3-4 months. I saw the place advertised for way less online so I called to ask about it and was told they didn't have that place, only the really expensive one...so I decided to pretend to be someone else and see what they said. I called back pretending to just be inquiring about the Craigslist ad. Sure enough I was told they had in fact a FEW units available at the low price! I'm tired of having to jump through hoops for them and there is a good chance we won't be moving here. The tour guide also told us the heating bill gets really high in the winter. We've lived in cold states so we expect that but this is Seattle it's not THAT cold!

New Management is Crazy
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU CONSIDER THIS PLACE: I have lived here for 3 years and in the summertime the place is great. The pool and BBQ are wonderful. Unfortunately, nobody told me about living here in the wintertime. The heating element is in the ceiling. Expect your utility bills to range from $300-400 even with the heat turned down low. We had great people that used to work in the office, but recently management has changed and the new office personel don't work well with people who live well. Personally I think they've hired people from McDonalds.

Beware
I have lived in the Regent for about a year. There are a lot of bird feeders on the property which can be a positive point. But these bird feeders also attract rats. Management has acknowledge they have a rat problem ( per letter sent out) and ask residents not overfeed the birds. The second item is earlier this year a man was attacked by a pit bull and seriously injured on the property; the pit bulls killed his dog. Management didn't notify residents of the incident. I don't have any children but if I did, I would be concerned about management not notifying the residents. Last item, don't drink the water. They have a serious issue with the water turning brown. Maintenance has told me they wouldn't drink the water. It s not caused by low usage of the water lines as they may say. After I clean the bathtub, there is still a brown residue in the tub (8 months later). They also put a chemical into the water without letting the residents know ( per maintenance), to help clear the water. It still didn't work. Better budget bottled water from the QFC down the street and if you have blond hair hope you like a strawberry blond look. Positive: The grounds are very clean, and the workout room is very nice and safe (to a point, neighbors car was broken into). The fireplaces are great, the upgraded interior is nice. Location is prime. Summary: For the price I would look elsewhere. The picture is what a new white showerhead turn from the water. That's not mildew, is a mineral stain.

Good! If your young!
The sad truth of the matter is that most of the "long time residents" are slowly leaving. WHY? The 20's and 30's crowd have taken over. Several loud and partying neighbors were evicted which management handled well but who the heck would want to take a chance and live next to "partying" neighbors and smell marijuana every time you walk out your door. The quality of the model they show is not the same as the actual apartments. The new "elite" interiors consist of painted cabinets, new hardware, new rugs and painted walls and that is it. It's far from elite and with extremely poor ventilation with very few windows. There is also a major rat and raccoon problem that has not been addressed. If you think it's not a huge problem, take my word for it and do not sit outside your patio at night. The entire tribe of raccoons and rats are out consistently every night. I would not go as far to say that it's a dump, but it has some major issues that need to be addressed and at the rate they charge for rent, you would expect better. The place right down the road, Park Place in much nicer, bigger rooms, nicer environment with nice club house and closer to down town for the same amount of money.

Great neighborhood, prime location, and beatiful landscaping. This place is one of the most peaceful places I've lived at. It's a little old ,but the management and maintenance people are quick and responsible. overall these people provide you with the peacefull enviroment you need to come to after a long day.

the Apt is great and so are the neighbours
Ok I have been a tenant at this apt for about 9 months now and I love this place. There are some reviews here that might scare off people, but take my advice come see it before you make your decision. That s what I did. At first I was very skeptical of the place because of the reviews, and then I decided to come by and take a look. The management people are great, very kind and polite and professional. They recommended a two bedroom for me and my roommate that has been working out great. The Apt is nice and cozy. There is a big huge window in the living room/ dinning room area that lets in lots of light into the apt (well whenever there is sun in Seattle). The Master bedroom is huge. I have a King bed in there with two drawers and an office desk plus the two night stands on the side of the bed and still have a huge amount available. I had a couple of problems with the bathroom plumbing that the maintenance guys took care of it right away. By far the maintenance people at Regent have been better than any other Apt that I have been to. Other places take days before they would fix anything, but over here they do it right away. What I also like about the place is the neighbors and the people here. Over the summer we had a bunch of BBQ parties with random people in the Regent community that I had never met before and now we are all good friends and invite each other over for food and so on and so forth. The only problem I have is that the price for the place is a little expensive. I think if it was a little lower it would be better. I understand that the place has been newly remodeled but they have not used good material. It does look nice, but the price they are asking is a little expensive. Overall I am very happy about this place. Close to Bellevue Square and also has QFC and a gas station a block away from it. So my advice would be to come and check out the place before you make your decision reading my review or others.

Decent
I give 5 stars to the landscaping and grounds crew. Those guys do a great job with the complex. I have not had too many issues here. The whole place has been remodelded, but the prior poster is correct that they did a very quick job. My carpeting was not installed properly and the woodwark is falling apart. However, it is clean, quiet, and they will fix items when requested. I think they charge more than what it is truely worth, but I don't have any major complaints. It is safe also. No issues to date and that is the major thing to think of.

Keep on Driving
This place is a dump that is covered by fresh paint and new appliances. The problem is that if you look closer you can see the flaws. The paint job is poor at best, the cupboards have been "upgraded" by gluing on new fronts which are falling off. I have complained to the front office who says that they are aware of this problem, but have no plans to fix them. I can hear every footstep and bedroom adventure in the apartments on all sides. The front office tries its best to sell this "lemon" to unsuspecting tenants. Don't believe the hype or the special deals. This place is not worth any price...nothing but headaches since moving in. I can't wait until my lease is up. Keep driving down Bellevue Way...there are a lot better apartments buildings just down the street.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
I always check reviews prior to patronizing any establishment and I would like to give you an honest opinion of this place. I am a woman in her late 20's (that way you know which point of view I am coming from) I have lived all over the world, but this place stands alone...and actually prompted me to find a review board for apartments. Finding a place to live is a pain and sometimes desperation takes over and you end up at the first place that takes you or the cheapest move-in cost. Since bullets are easier to read, I am going to put the positives and negatives in that format. POSITIVES - SUPER QUIET - The staff, including the maintenance, are so friendly ("Hello", "Good Morning", "Have a Lovely Day" is what you get when you greet them) - The neighbors are always friendly, not nosy or intrusive, just smile and/or wave as you walk or drive by. - Brand new fitness center (new treadmills, elliptical and weight training equipment) - Next to a 24 hour QFC and a Washington State Liquor store (unfortunately NOT 24 hours) - Brand new insides...think pier one meets crate and barrel - PLENTY of parking - Near all major bus lines and Park n Ride - 1 mile from downtown bellevue! Negatives - Fitness center is a little small (about the size of 2 large bedrooms, but there is never anyone in there when I go, so that is MORE than enough room) - Sometimes its a little too quiet and you kinda wish there was a BBQ to go to - Rent for the town homes is a little steep, but OMG the space and design is amazing! - Also, I think someone before me commented about the noise of neighbors in their apartments...no one lives next to me so I cannot comment about that Well...thats about it. OH and NO, I am not the apartment manager. That would suck if I was just blowing smoke up your arse. The leasing agents are super sweet though. Sabina and Breigh (spelling?) are their names if you ever stop by.

What a rip-off
I only lived at the for 1 year 10 months barely. My rent was going to increase 600.00 per month starting June 1, 2007. I MOVED. And then to top it all off and all the deposits I paid. I only received 115.00 in return. Yikes.

Quiet and clean - good enough for me.
About three years ago, I moved here from the Park down the street. I'd had enough after I opened my front door and there was someone else's garbage on my welcome mat. All I was looking for was a place that was quiet and clean, and that's what I got here. I wasn't too happy about the rent increase, but when I looked around at a few other places like this, it wasn't too far off from what I'm paying now - it's tough to read about people who ve whined about it; have you checked anywhere else? Everyone s jacked up the rent.

Overall, I've been pretty happy here. My apartment's off the road, so it's really quiet, and the only maintenance order I've ever put in was taken care of the next day. Maybe someone else has had a different experience, but after meeting the staff a couple times, it's hard to imagine them being discourteous. And if you're shopping around, it'd be worth your while to stop just to see the manager - she's smokin' hot. I m not moving any time soon.
Come see what this place is about
I have lived here for over 7 years now and have been very happy. It is about time that someone gave us a new roof and so many improvements are happening. The staff is friendly and very accomodating. We have great views and the property is so quiet. Come and see for yourself. This place is a land all in it's own. So different from any other apartment community in Bellevue. I love my patio and all the greenbelt views I see everyday.

Find somewhere else
After several management changes I've decided to move. The current management seems to be only interested in making money. Their "improvements" include painting the baseboards and that's about it. When they are called for repairs, the response - after at least 3 calls, is about 10 days. There are many other nicer places for the money.

DO NOT LIVE HERE (Good comments posted are only from the staff)
This place has really gone down hill. It's taken them months to fix things around the property. The apartments are loud, and shake when someone walks upstairs. The new management is extremely rude and the storage units have water damage and mold throughout. It is definitly not worth the month. And there have been a number of cars broken into, including mine. Also, if something breaks count on calling maintainence multiple times to come fix it.

Keep Looking
The overall external appearance is very pleasing. We waited for an apartment to be remodeled before we moved in. We saw the sample apartment and it was done quite nicely. It had new appliances, paint, floors, light fixtures, and mirrors. When we moved in we discovered our paint job was rushed, they missed spots and touched up spots with the wrong color of paint. They painted over shelf anchors rather than removing them from the wall. Our carpet has obvious seams in the middle of the room and we run into something sharp poking through on a regular basis. There are many other deficiencies in our "remodel." Worst of all the two women that we rented from have both left management at this place. They were accomadating about our original requests; however, the current office staff doesn't have a clue. Don't get me wrong they are cute to look at but that about as useful as it gets.

We love it here.....
Though the Northside was purchased by another company, we have found them to be professional, efficient and friendly. The property has had some wonderful renovations done in the past 6 months. When looking at other apartments we just can't find the same atmosphere and quiet beauty that make the Regent at Bellevue Way (new name) so great. After living here for 4 years, we fully expected to get a rent increase but were pleased that it wasn't the 40% that so many have spread rumors about. In this area, we pay exactly what is expected. Great locations, wonderful landscaping and friendly staff and neighbors make this a wonderful place to continue to call home. We love it = even without Brenda here...the new staff is very nice and always available to answer questions or help us out.
