The units are small. I think our unit is overpriced. There is only one pool area. The entire property being smoke free to me is ridiculous and I absolutely dislike it. The overall property is clean, I guess. It's ok. Parking and driving in the property are difficult, there really is not much visitor parking or room to maneuver. My balcony is like 10 feet away from the neighbor and their balcony, it is just awkward to even be out on.

I like how it looks, just the residents can be a bit much with audible and alleged domestic issues within their apartment space. Some people are unkempt with their animals while I'm reinforcing picking up after mine every time we go out for a walk. The front office can be quick to cut a call if they don't find an issue to be grand enough, and it's a bit annoying to have to wait until they're open certain days of the week to connect with them.

At Cortland at Raven, with almost 2 months of living, my experience is good. I like the privacy where I have everything I was looking for: a pool, jacuzzi, pet area, gym, grills, clubhouse, etc. There is a billiards area, the bad thing is that they close at 6 pm. The apartments are a good size, they are not cheap, but it is quiet.

Cortland at Raven is an amazing place to lease at. The apartments are beautifully redone, staff is friendly and responsive, and I feel very safe in this community. The apartments are wonderfully priced and very high quality. Cortland does things right!

Moving in was a little complicated and the woman wasn't nice about it. So can it make me feel a little bit uncomfortable and scared? But once I met the maintenance team, I felt welcome and okay. It OK.

I love living in this community. I love living in my apartment. The staff is always courteous, helpful and professional. The maintenance staff have been very prompt, courteous and professional and diligently work on fixing/repairing issues until resolved.

The apartment is modern on the inside and mostly well-maintained. The community is quiet and this is a nice place to live overall. My major complaint is the sound deadening for those on the first floor. Sure you get a garage, but this comes at the expense of having to hear your neighbor's footsteps. God forbid you have noisy neighbors or individuals who like to pace around in the middle of the night. If management could make sure everything works and is clean upon move in I would give 5 stars. I had a non-functional garbage disposal which was eventually replaced. Management is helpful as well as the maintenance team so no complaints there. For the price, this is a good apartment, though beware of the additional fees that you will need to pay. Rent, valet trash, electricity, water, and internet (non-negotiable). With all that said I'd still recommend and this is probably one of the better complexes in South Phoenix.

Out of service, unavailable, broken, sorry for the inconvenience, I understand your frustration, all of these you will see in an email or text or both on a weekly basis basically. Something is ALWAYS wrong or being changed....but don't worry it's all going to be better. YEAH RIGHT. Since the upgrades, nothing good has come from here. But make sure you pay your rent on time, pay in full and check your account religiously. Do not trust this property management. Don't say I never told you.

Our neighbor buys cars at action and basically park them in free spots all over the parking lot . When we come home from work can’t find parking spot . Management is not doing anything about it . So our parking lot is a dealership full of old cars .

The experiance at the Retreat at the Raven is unique the apartments are spacious and well maintained by a well trained staff. I have lived here for a year and a half, the way the management (Keone) staff stages events to bring the community togeather is special and priceless. No one has to be alone at the Retreat unless that is your choice. I would reccommend The Retreat as 5 star apartment living.

My family and I love living in this community! The office staff is very thorough and attentive when it comes to addressing any needs that come about. I mainly deal with Tera in the front office when I have any maintenance issues or questions and she is always attentive, responsive, and an absolute pleasure to work deal with. Scottie and Chris in maintenance are prompt and courteous in getting any maintenance issues resolved. I never feel uncomfortable letting my children go outside and play, there is plenty of well kept green space and the property is very secure. There is a great sense of community here which adds to its appeal.

I love this place! We moved here as Canadians from Iowa and we nervous about renting after being in our own home for many years. We have found this to be a delightful community to live in! The pool is better than most resorts and the property is kept up very well. The management here is outstanding! Keone does such an incredible job of making this a community home, rather than just a rental. He is friendly, professional and amazing at his job. If we have any repair issues it is always addressed promptly and professionally by the maintenance staff. I would highly recommend this residence! Would love to see some snowbirds and Canadians join us here to enjoy the incredible pool area!

I love living in this community :) The office staff is so professional and ooohhh soooo friendly! I feel comfortable to go the office and they address any issues that I have right away. Anything that needs to be fixed in my apartment is done the same day or the next. Parking is good, too. I have an attached garage and any family or friends that come to visit me can always find an open parking spot nearby. I love living here and would recomment this place to anyone that I know :)!!!

The most important thing potential renters should know about this place is it's grossly overpriced for what you actually get. This place is labeled luxury but the walls are still thin, the office staff tells you what you want to hear, and you're lucky to find parking. Where to begin with my own experience with this place. Well, after one month here my apartment was flooded by a broken toilet upstairs. Sure they were quick to respond to the flood but I had to follow up twice to get them to fix my carpet, replace my ceiling they cut open and repaint - all of which were completed In their own good time and poor quality. Next month, they lost my rent check forcing me to jump through hoops to get them a new one. Every other month I had a maintenance request in (I will say the maintenance staff is the only plus in this review). Half the time the gym equipment was broken and their answer to fixing it was just unplugging it for awhile. Oh! And my personal favorite, the jerk next to me who BLASTED his awful rap music at all hours except quiet hours so he couldnt get in trouble. Do yourself a favor, if you are going to spend $1200 a month for an apartment I would look elsewhere, you can get way better for your money.

We moved here on short notice last September. We were greeted by the friendliest management team. We had visited several other apartments along the Baseline Corridor, none compared. Their reception and the concept of resort style living was very assuring that this would make a great temporary home while we searched to buy a house. This was a gated community, I liked that too. When you drive into the facility off Baseline, you are greeted with a peaceful setting with a lovely water feature and palm trees. Like wise as you leave the facility, you have this lovely view of South Mountain. These 2 opposite views, are very calming. The grounds are lovely, with different trees, and a lovely pool with a jacuzzi and BBQ area. I hear families and friends enjoying these features. I hear birds singing through out the day...I like that :) There is a volley ball area in the back. Behind the apartments there is a canal which separates you from a lovely golf course. Although, (I do not believe it is part of the apartments). My point being, you never FEEL like you are living in apartments. Here you will see joggers, cyclists, and couples, or people just walking their dogs. At dusk it is lovely. Also you will find a duel bbq and another ramada. Did I mention you are just a little over 2 miles form South Mountain Community College? Bus route is amazing here if you need that. Drops you off right IN FRONT of the school. Nice~ Maintenance team. Very nice and professional. When ever I have had an issue, I call the front desk and they put in a work order. Always addressed in a timely manner. The work out room is nice. Not too big, and located facing the pool area, so that is very therapeutic. I forgot to tell you how lovely the pool area is. And there is music piped in. The lobby area. As you walk in the front, to the right there is a room with a pool table. Also a lovely sitting area, where you can watch tv if you want. Nice get away if the apartment is making you feel a little cramped. Mid way through our lease we had to bring our dog over. She is a 40 pound dog, and older. No worries. Our rent of course changed and the deposit was due for her. Understandably. They have areas designated for your pets and provide the 'clean up' bags for you to pick up after them. One last thing. We put in our notice as were buying a house. That fell through in the middle of our 30 day notice. Concerned about where we would go, I approached the management team. No worries. The apartment had not been rented yet. We are now able to go month to month on our rent. Thank you Retreat at the Raven Management team for making a very stressful time for us, so much easier to deal with. willrecommend11~

Hell on earth!!! I lived there for one year and i will never forget the hell i went through there at the Retreat at the Raven. The night manager was dating all the cops and highway patrol man that lived there. She was always spying and sticking her nose in everyones personal business. I called her the ninja turtle lady because she was always watching everyone and would bully everyone who lived there. My friend from out of state come to visit me for the weekend and he asked me if he could check out the gym I told him go ahead i will be there in a minute. Well ninja turtle showed up with the cop who she was doing when his old lady was at work and turtle lady manager and robo cop kicked my long time friend out of the gym and said he was not allowed to use it. My buddy told me wow there really are messing with you here at this place. I could go on and on how they went into my apartment with out me being there and going through my apartment. If you value your privacy and your rights Retreat is more like hell. I could go on and on how they disrespected my 80 year old mother who came to visit me. These are some real rotten people that run that hell hole you call a Retreat. That place is not secure. My garage door was broken into and they made me pay for it. I feel sorry for anyone who makes the mistake of moving in that place. I served one year there and still can not get it out of my mind. That was back in 2002 If I am lying about anything may God strike me dead now!!!

I just purchased a home leaving my home at the Retreat at the Raven. I loved living there the staff is amazing.The grounds are like living on a resort. The service techs are the best I've ever seen fast and done right the first time. Super quite day and night peaceful.I read the bad reviews they are so untrue the people must of been evicted and are upset that is not the Retreat at the Raven. You will love this place like everyone who is and had lived there.

Several things you should know before signing a lease here: 1. Though these are billed as "Luxury Apartments", I think most people would agree that linoleum floors, laminate counter tops, and low grade fixtures/appliances don't qualify as "luxurious". 2. Management is forgetful and very slow to respond to requests. It often takes multiple calls to the office to get something taken care of. 3. This property is located in one of the highest crime neighborhoods/zip codes in Arizona. 4. Police helicopters are often circling/searching the area due to criminal activity. 5. The apartment complex directly next door is low-income housing and their tenants often times hop over the wall to cruise this complex or sneak in to the pool/jacuzzi area. 6. Check with your insurance company - your auto and renters insurance are likely to increase significantly by moving to this zip code. 7. Comparing to similar properties in nicer nearby areas like Tempe or Ahwatukee, rents for this complex are overpriced by approximately 20-30%.

My roommate and I recently moved in on 4/22/12 from a Mark Taylor community in Tempe paying about $1085.00 and even though we are paying a little bit more, we both feel it's worth it. I must say that The Retreat at the Raven is by far the most friendliest and helpful staff that we have ever encountered. Every time we go into the leasing office, Keone and Denise are always friendly, smiling, genuinely has personable conversation with us. Not only us, but they are consistent with their service with everyone. One time, we waited for about 3 minutes for our package and just by listening to them talking with other residents...they really do care! We love our apartment (Sicelia)with the golf course view...its so quiet here and seems like everyone kinda knows each other. The maintenance staff is pretty quick to getting stuff fixed, the community is always clean, pool is awesome!!! and well looked after but there are some lights that are out that makes certain areas kinda dark to walk through. The internet is super fast we can watch movies and videos on the internet. Parking is sometimes hard to find, but i guess that's anywhere else. We wish we moved in here sooner, we're definitely spreading the word to our buddies and family. Keep up the great work Keone!
