Good Place to Live !
I've lived in this development for close to 4 yrs. Management is good (a little strict though :)), maintenance staff is wonderful, friendly, quick to respond. Safe, convenient place to live. Compare to others that offer the same rent, this is much better, newer. Only thing I'd like to see improve in them is the Heat Insulation. I've stayed in 3 diff apartments in the same development, heat insulation is poor, to say the least, drives up heating cost thru the roof.

TERRIBLE
I counted down the days until I was able to move out of this complex. Apartments are VERY small. With rent as high as it is, you would expect someone to actually do something when there is a problem with the apartment. However, staff is more concerned about smoking and riding around in their gold cart then actually doing something. You could not pay me to live in this dive, babies crying all night long, loud thugs walking up the stairs at 2 am, college kids having load parties in the middle of the night. If you would like to hear all this and more at all hours of the night, then Appleby is the place for you, if you would rather pay less money and have a better experience, look elsewhere. The complex used to be much better, now its just rotting away.

ANTS
I have complained many times to the office of an ant problem in my apartment. I have kept a VERY clean apartment but there are spots in my apartment where the wood is rotted out. I am assuming that is where the ants are coming from. The office is unwilling to fix the problem. Whenever staff comes in they tell me there is nothing they can do. So basically I should like living in filth. Avoid there has to be better places then here.

I am tired of smelling smoke EVERY day. The vents are shared so if you have a neighbor that is a smoker, then you WILL smell the smoke in your apartment. It smells like a bowling alley in my apartment and I do not smoke. Terrible to breathe. If you value breathing dont move into an apartment that has connected vents and allows smoking.

Good place to live
Granted, the neighborhood is not the best, but Appleby property management does it's part to keep the complex safe and nice for its residents. Units have security systems, there seems to be a "police" presence, and the office staff and maintenance staff are professional and very helpful. I haven't had any problems with roaches or termites in the 1 1/2 years that I've been here. Love the new playground area for kids!

Termites and flooding
I lived at Appleby apartments from August of 2005 until May of 2006. I had a terrible experience there. Because the rain gutters were not well cleaned out, I came home one day to discover that it had overflowed into our vents, and flooded my roommate's desk, including her computer, which was ruined. Our renter's insurance did not cover flooding and Appleby would not reimburse her for any of her ruined items, despite the fact that maintenance admitted it was due to the gutters being full of leaves. In April, we had a termite infestation. We had hundereds of the bugs swarming and dying. It took them almost a week to schedule an exterminator, who had to drill into the walls in order to spray for them. These holes were then left unplugged for nearly a week before maintenance came to fill them up. These two problems combined to make our time there miserable, and we couldn't wait to move!

great apartment
I have lived here for almost 5 years now, and I have never had a problem. Maintenance always comes within a few hours after you call with a problem. I was able to get many upgrades in my apartment when I renewed my lease. My neighbors are very friendly, and took care of my cat when I was away. I love having a balcony in my bedroom. Parking is sometimes a problem when I come home late, but other than that, I am very happy.

It's sad that office staff have to write phony reviews...
It's pretty sad that office staff have to write phony reviews in order to lure customers to even visit your apartment complex. But I am sure that by first sight they won't be fooled for too much longer. Let me start by saying the surrounding area is overpopulated with hoodlums and thugs. There is section 8 housing completely surrounding the area. Peace and quite is not even in the question. Not to mention the constant traffic coming from walmart. The parking lot is always crowded. And the walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors every conversation. There is constantly people hanging in the parking lot and my complaints to the leasing office have fallen on deaf ears. Lets not mention the vandelism that is constantly occuring. Consumers look at sites like this one for honest and true opinions of apartments. It's shameful that leasing offices are taking advantage

Highly recommended place to live
We lived in Appleby Apartments for 3 years. I must first say that I have never experienced an atmosphere so admirable and serene (for apartment living). The Managers were always very personable and the Maintenance team was always available when needed. They did an awesome job maintaining a safe and clean environment. The location is very convenient and we always felt comfortable while living there. Fortunately, we were able to purchase our own home, but if that weren't the case, we would probably still be there. I will always recommend Appleby Apartments as a wonderful place to live!
The Abram Family

Love it so much I'm moving back
I moved from Appleby several years ago into a place that was a nightmare. Now I can't wait till I move back (in several weeks). The staff are personable and very professional and they remembered me after several years. This place is a real class act and extremely well kept. The grounds are lovely and the apartments are very nice and up to date. The entire time I lived there, I never had a problem. If anything was broken it was fixed immeadiately. I think these apartments are a perfect model of how things should be run.

I hate that I have to leave!
I've been living here for almost two and a half years, and I've absolutely loved it here. The staff are all very friendly and willing to help...I had a friend misplace my key while she was looking after my sick cat while I was out of town for a weekend, and the lady who works in the office on the weekends offered to come in and give him his medicine. They're willing to accept packages (several of the other places I've lived weren't) and are always friendly whenever I stop in. The maintenance staff is great, too (even though they gave me a hard time when my dishwasher broke because I don't use it often enough). The few times I've had a problem they've gotten over here either later that day or the next (depending on what time it was when I remembered to call) and it's been taken care of. I have no qualms about them having access to my apartment while I'm at work--they're friendly and outgoing and went out of their way to make sure that everything was fixed when I moved in.

The only complaint I have is parking. As long as I get home in the early evening I usually don't have a problem, but I usually get home late at least once a week and occasionally it's been a bit of a trek. I live in a back corner where two buildings form an "L", and of the 7 spaces directly in front of these buildings, three of them are handicapped spots (including the two directly in front of my building). If they were all in use I wouldn't have any complaints about that at all because I know that it's very important for people with limited mobility to be able to get to and from their vehicles, but for as long as I've lived here only two of the spots have been needed so many people use the "open" one for loading and unloading, and I got yelled at for parking in it for 15 minutes one day when I came home to change shoes and get an ace bandage for the ankle I had just twisted while nothing happened to most of the people who parked there overnight.

Anyway, I really do like it here, and I'm sad that I have to leave because of my job situation. If I wasn't leaving the area, I would definitely stay here for much longer!

I love it love it love it
This is my 1st apartment as a recent graduate and I love where I live. The management is spectacular, anything you need she will make sure you have. My toilet overflowed at midnight and someone was out here and done within an hour. Really any servicing I have ever needed has been done that same day. The rent is a good price for the area and I love having a washer and dryer in my bedroom. The only bad thing is that that the bathroom is in my bedroom, but whatever, who cares, it's just more convenient for me. Speaking of my bedroom it is huge, almost as big as the rest of my apartment. I love that everyone in my building has the same # of bedrooms. Also I have an alarm system with motion detectors for a mere 15 bucks a month. The other bad thing is parking (but just in the section I live in), if I come home late I have to park up the street, but it's rarely a big deal. Other than that I can't complain.
