Fairly good experience, with small problems.
I live in Somerset Lakes for several months with a family member while I was in a transitory period. I found the experience to be, on the whole, positive. The apartment was large and well-layed out, as well as being clean and well-maintained. The view out the balcony windows was spectacular. There was one maintenance problem. When we first moved in, we had a brand new dishwasher. However, every time we ran it, it would flood the kitchen below. A maintenance guy came out three times to fix it, and finally discovered the problem the third time. The thing is, it was a very simple thing and I had suggested it the first time. (Briefly, dishwashers typically empty into the garbage disposal. However, there is often a cap over the plug in the disposal casing for use in the event that you don't have a dishwasher. The installers had failed to remove the cap, and had instead attached the hose directly over the plugged hole.) It's a very common mistake, but this guy does this for a living, and I had suggested this possibility. Also, I'm not wild about shared utilities. Each four apartments are on one water meter, so they split the bill based on number of residents per unit. Other than those two situations, I have nothing but positive things to say. The office staff was helpful and courteous, the pool was open on time, and was well-maintained. Also, the fitness center was small, but adequate. One of the earlier comments mentioned that large number of senior citizens living in Somerset. This is true. However, I see it as a positive aspect of the community, as things were always well-maintained and the community was, on the whole, very quiet. All in all, living in Somerset Lakes was a very positive experience and I would definitely consider them again.

It's okay.
First off, the pool is just now opening (Saturday, June 16, 2007) even though it has been in the 90s for quite a while. We moved here in mid-August of last year and the pool was only open for less than a week while we were here. That is probably my biggest complaint so far. Parking: We have had absolutely no problems with parking. There is more than enough room. They do claim you can only park on one side and then not enforce it. Every once in a while they will put notes on cars parked on the wrong side of the street but they do nothing more. Noise: We have been lucky enough not to have loud neighbors. The apartment walls are paper thin, though. Also, we share a front door with 3 other apartments. Because of the paper thin walls and the noise of the traffic going though, this is probably the main reason we are leaving. It probably wouldn't bother us too much, but the dogs hate it. There is also a draft that comes in when people open the door, shaking our front door which of course makes the dogs bark. Grounds: The grounds are nice enough. Some of the people who have lived here a long time have even planted some of their own landscaping. Not much, but a nice touch. There are no cans for dog droppings, though. when we asked about getting some, the manager told us to throw it in the lake. Ewwwww! There are also a lot of geese around. They hired some dogs to chase them away this summer, which has made it exceedingly better but they are still around. If you hate geese, as I do, beware. OH, and there are bugs everywhere! Perhaps it is due to the location (lake on one side, woods on the other), but it is a problem. When we moved in last year, it took us about a month to kill the spiders. The man who comes to spray does no good. We just set off bug bomb after bug bomb until they were gone. Now this year it seems to be those pincher bugs (don't know the formal name) that have infested our apartment! Gross! Safety: I feel very safe here. Our neighbor was broken into, but it didn't seem to be the norm here at all. There aren't alarms, though, which would be a nice feature. Still, I feel comfortable walking around by myself at night, and I am a young female. Construction: These apartments are not the best built. Like I said, the walls are paper thin. There is real problems with insulation. For example, there was a draft coming in from our outlets last winter. There is also a problem of maintenance doing a poor job of fixing anything that needs repair. For example, our outside light was broken and they only half-way fixed it. They first tried to say that we just needed to change the bulb. Of course that wasn't the problem, so they did something else to make it work, but it doesn't look good now. :) Maintenance: I think I've made my feelings on maintenance clear. Nice guys, but don't expect quality work out of them. If there is a problem with the apartment, the maintenance staff does about the jankiest job possible to make a quick fix. Office Staff: The office staff is nice enough. It is exceedingly difficult to get things done when asked, though. Pet policy: They are very pet friendly. Of course, we have neighbors who love our dog. If they didn't, they could make problems. Overall: We would probably stay here if we hadn't gotten a second dog. The extra pet rent as well as the noise from the apartments is sending us on our way to a house with a fenced in back yard. The apartments aren't the best, but overall I've been happy here. The area is perfect, centered between Broad Ripple and Castleton. On a good day, I can drive downtown in 20 minutes but beware if you have to make the drive every day it has taken me almost an hour in rush hour. About the old people. This place was a retirement community until several years ago. Therefore, there are some people who still live here from that. We live in a building with all young people, however, so it really hasn't affected us at all. There are plenty of people in their 20s / 30s around as well.

I'll start with the pros of living here: Great location, very open with view of a lake. Maintenance staff is friendly and does a decent job with the quality of their work considering what corporate gives them to work with. Now the cons: There's always something going on in the community to make it difficult to live in Somerset Lakes. Either the water gets shut off with no notice to residents, or the gate's broken, forcing residents to drive all the way around the complex to get in/out, or the keypad codes they installed on the building doors don't work. Corporate, manager and staff are completely incompetent. They hire contractors that they claim are not responsive and so when something breaks, such as the gate or keypad on the door, it is weeks before it is fixed. Also beware of contractors that they hire that actually come inside your apt. to do work. The contractors don't care about what dirt/debris they leave behind in your apt. after working. I've had paint smeared on my towels and debris/dirt left all over my bathroom floor and carpet in the hallway. They hire contractors that do NOT care about their workmanship or cleaning up after themselves when they come into a resident's apartment. Who knows what else they could be doing when the resident isn't home! All this being said, my guess would be that apartment management hires the cheapest contractors they can find, then we, the residents, have to suffer when things break in the community because of the low quality of the contractors they hire. When weeks go by and something goes unfixed because apt. management is "waiting" for a contractor to respond to them and says that they are at the "mercy" of the contractor is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! Get it together and DO YOUR JOB SOMERSET STAFF!! Actions speak louder than words and saying that you care and look out for your residents is completely different than showing that you are working on behalf of the residents of your community! And if a contractor truly is not being responsive, then hire a different contractor!! As a resident, we shouldn't have to put up with all of this when we pay you to do your jobs!!!

As Truthful as possible
Well, here goes. I've been living in various apartments for close to 10 years now, so I've got a little to compare with. The Good: The size of the apartments. For the price, they're HUGE! Good location, and it's quiet most of the time. Relatively safe... I say relatively, there have been break ins and I still urge you to be careful. I also like that they give you a lot of relative freedom. By this I mean you don't have big brother looking over your shoulder every 5 minutes to check on what you're doing. The maintenence staff gets to things quickly, however, they have a very limited budget so they do extremely quick and cheap fixes. Read into that in every whay possible. Most neighbors seem very good, and I have yet to meet anyone here that terribly rubbed me the wrong way as far as tennants. The Bad: Nails everywhere! The previous post was right, you'll get flats in this complex. The quality of the apts. leave a TON to be desired. If you want your apartment built of 70's funk and shoddy materials, this is your place. It feels like the wind is cutting through my apt. in the wintertime with everything closed as tightly as possible. I cannot stress enough how on first glance everything looks okay, but if you look close, it's all old. Dirty and corroded and deteriorating is a good way to put it. The main manager here is ????? She seems to be here physically, but not with you mentally. I recommend anyone else in the office. Anyways, overall those are my main thoughts. This place is moderately pet friendly, but your neighbors can make it much worse or better depending on their moods. The lake is terrible! You don't think about how much goose poop there is from the pics! The gazeebo and peir to it are half sunk in the lake and covered in goose fecees. The advertisements for the apartment complex show boating, which is allowed. However, to have a boat here you must prove to have several hunderd dollars worth of insurance on it. The fitness center does a descent job, however it is not new or state of the art. It's got 2 treatmils, 2 excercise bikes, a few weight machines, and some light free weights. There is a suana in the mens and womens bathrooms... however, some tennants occasionally break them which sucks. The always have plenty of fresh water in the gym though, that's nice, and it's never crowded. The tennis courts are nice, and the basketball court is on the tennis courts, it's alright. The volleyball court is covered in goose poop. I believe they are building an area where tennants can have a small garden, but I'd inquire at the office for that. They do occasionally have a night at the office to play cards and such, but that's really for the silver haired crowd. Once again I say beware the nails in your tires from construction! The construction might be all gone, but hardly a day goes by that I don't find a nail or two outside! On a side note, all the address' here are questionable. Since they name their own streets inside of the gate, they're not really known by outsiders, which can be a problem if you order pizza, invite over friends, etc. It's almost like everything here is just done based on price, which is understandable, but no quality. Just quantity. We came for the space, but it will not keep us here! Oh, there are no signs that are posted on the doors monthly asking about maintaince. Perhaps this was an old policy, but it's NOT around anymore.

THIS PLACE SUCKS
If you want nails in your tires at least once a month, your apartment to be broke into and then take 4 weeks to be repaired, then this is the place for you. Maintenance sucks and does not ever really fix anything and the place is crawling with bugs and spiders. IT IS GROSS. The office staff just smile and say I'm sorry there is nothing I can do. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Worst Rental Experience Ever!
With out a doubt this is the worst place I have ever lived. Being only 26 I have lived in nothing but rental apartments since I was 18 and have never been in such a terrible place with a truly incompetent staff whose ‘we don’t care unless you are 65 years old’ attitude doesn’t help anything. If you are thinking about moving here, please take a minute to read my story and don’t even waste your time here…

The office will sell you on large apartments at low cost, but trust me, you get what you pay for. The floor plans are huge but that is truly the only thing this apartment complex has going for it. The cheap carpet has fallen apart when simply vacuumed, the air conditioning can’t take your place below 75 (if it is even working at all) and this winter alone I have had 5 calls in to get the heater to actually work. The Comcast Cable access here is so poorly installed that even the basic features can’t work thus making service basically a complete waste of time and money.

When I first visited the complex I was told how it is such a great place for young couples and professionals. What I wasn’t told was that it was formerly a 55 and over community and many of the residents are still living here and DO NOT approve of younger generations. I moved into an upstairs unit above a retired couple who has harassed me none stop since my move in, but the trouble started even before that.

When I signed my lease, I was told that I would have full sized balcony yet when the agent was unlocking the door for my move in inspection 2 MONTHS LATER, she mentioned that it actually wasn’t the apartment she had told me it was when I signed and that it had a ½ sized balcony. The agent also new that I was breaking a lease to move into Sommerset Lakes and that I had to be out of my apartment on Sunday and that my move in day was Saturday, leaving me just 24 hours to move all belongs, which left me screwed if I complained at the time as at midnight that night, I had no where to go.

3 days after moving in, I received a complaint that my dog barked day and night and that my downstairs neighbors had complained and that if I didn’t ‘stop my dog from barking’ I would have to get rid of her. 3 days into the lease… I introduced myself to my neighbors at this point and gave them my phone number telling them to contact me if they have any problems or concerns and I would do my best to take care of in an attempt to be a good neighbor. I talked to the office manager who claimed that I lied on my application for my dog because ‘they didn’t see any boxer in her picture’ that I supplied with the application. Even though all her adoption and medical paperwork (supplied from the humane society) states that she is a boxer, they were trying to say that she ‘looks like a bully breed’ and there for couldn’t stay in my apartment. I explained to them that the Humane Society wouldn’t lie about the dog’s breed on their paperwork but they made me go back and get more proof that she was in fact a boxer. (This just shows how out of touch with any real life concepts these people are.)

A few days later I had a note on my door from the office explaining that a $25 fine would assigned to my monthly bill since my dog was pooping in the neighbors garden below my sad little patio. I went downstairs again and explained to them that it wasn’t in fact my dog, that she hadn’t been on that side of the apartment EVER and that I would again appreciate them calling me instead of the office first.

The couple then told me that I was a bad dog owner for working from 9-5 and that they were concerned with the well being of my dog. Insulted beyond belief I went out back to clean up some other careless pet owners droppings trying to make the best out of the situation.

From this point on I received an unbelievable amount of complaints from the office concerning my neighbors. These people would wait until myself or my girlfriend would be walking out of the apartment to corner us and complain about the most INSANE things for a couple living in an apartment such as hearing us walk, hearing my dog jump off the bed and that OUR TOLIET SEAT SHUTS TOO LOUDLY!

Every day above them has been terrible and the office has done nothing to help us aside from saying ‘deal with it’ to both parties. I attempted to get out of the lease saying that I was not at all happy there, it wasn’t even the apartment that I signed for and that they only take the side of the elderly tenants. While I was waiting to hear if after 4 weeks of living in this hell hole, the maintenance men came to fix my air conditioner for the third time (it didn’t work at all when I moved in back in May, as in wouldn’t even turn on) and left all the contents of my patio storage closet out on the patio when they were done which included a guitar amp which I found ruined when I got home because it had poured down rain that afternoon.

The office basically told me to piss off about getting out of the lease because they only care about making money and had me tied in at almost $1000 a month for the next year unless I paid the almost $4000 to break the lease. Seeing as how I just broke a lease to move in to this terrible place, I could not afford it. They were extremely rude and uncaring towards my situation at all.

Needless to say that nothing has gotten better at all. I finally put a stop to the neighbors pounding on their ceiling every time I walked to the kitchen or playing a little with my dog (on average three times a week) by yelling at them and attempting to file multiple complaints with the office for constant harassment (which accomplished nothing because the office holds true to their ‘The older tenants have lived here for a long time and we have to honor that’ which is complete -------- for anyone under the age of 60 who decides to move here).

The moral of the story is this, please don’t make the same mistake I did and get caught up in a place that offers 1600 square feet for $900 a month because it truly isn’t worth it at all, that is unless you are 839 years old or a complete shut in who doesn’t make a noise. I can’t have my friends over for dinner, I can’t use my surround sound system, hell, I have to be careful on how I shut my toilet seat if I don’t want to get a letter taped to my door. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX AND IF YOU CARE ABOUT ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING AT SOMMERSET LAKES, WARN THEM AND TURN THEM AWAY!!!

Big Apartments - Everything else pretty much sucks
Here are the good things about this complex:

1) For the money (and the location), the apartments generally have a lot of space.

2) There usually is a minimal amount of noise depending on who your neighbors are. (Note that I am not counting the influx of punks into this complex that seem to enjoy driving as fast as they can with the latest fly-by-night rap album blaring out their windows)

Here are the bad things about this complex:

1) Depending on your apartment, good luck trying to find an extra parking space for a visitor to park in. Each apartment has their own assigned space. Location on this space can vary anywhere from "Directly in front of the building" to "I wish the shuttle bus would show up to drive me to my space". Common sense would dictate that if you don't have someone living in a particular apartment, why not paint over or otherwise obscure the letter so that visitors (or those apartments that have multiple people living in them that each own cars) can park in them? Then, upon them luring another sucker into this complex, they can repaint the letter. Yeah, it would take a little bit of effort by the office staff (more on this stellar crew later) and maintenance folks, but it sure would be nice to see someone actually performing customer service. That might also eliminate the need to have a nosy old woman come and put a note on your car if you have the gall to actually park on the street because there isn't a parking space within a city block of your building How dare you!

2) The apartments are generally dated with very cheap, very old appliances.

a) Toilets break

b) Showers emit a strange sewer-like smell from the drain if not used for a couple of days.

c) Dishwashers require multiple runs to clean a single spoon and bowl effectively.

d) Closets stink like someone performed a science experiment by shutting a dozen cats into one for a month and then proceeded to document the results on their blog.

e) Balconies have a "Brady Bunch" backyard-like astroturf covering.

f) Mold and various holes in the wall have been painted over (instead of doing something radical, like you know, fixing the problem) after past residents have escaped, er...vacated.

g) There are random power outages during the day or night for no apparent reason other than the sun must be shining too hard or it must be too dark outside.

h) If it is really hot out (like, say something crazy, like 85-90 degrees), good luck keeping your apartment at a livable temperature where you aren't sitting around with blocks of ice down your pants.

2) Let's talk about the trash situation. "Attention residents of Somerset Lakes, we would like to save a few bucks on trash pickup. So instead of putting your trash in trashcans in the lower level of each building, and having actual "garbagemen" (or women) come and take it away, we would like you to just throw it out on the grass in front of the buildings so we can add that to the list of the things that the maintenance people have to do (instead of doing something revolutionary like *actual maintenance*). Oh, and one more thing, we don't want you to put it out until the *morning* of the trash pickup because it 'looks bad' and will 'attract critters'." Hey, you know what looks bad? Seeing the maintenance staff load up a pickup truck full of garbage half a dozen times on Tuesdays and Fridays when they could be doing something more productive. Obviously, you don't pay them enough because one of them has had a Hefty Bag as a back window of their truck for at least the last year. Give each of the guys a quarter for each bag they pickup-maybe then they could afford a new window. Nevertheless, it remains amusing to see certain residents of this complex put their trash out up to 3 days before it will get picked up by the maintenance folks. Keep it up!

3) Totally random construction. "Hey, here's an idea! Let's replace the roofs (but not on every building) and repaint everything (but again, not to every building). Oh yeah, let's dig up a sidewalk in front of a building and leave it unusable for three days (but we're only going to replace the cement on half of it, leaving the other half untouched"). What happened, did you run out of money? Let's not talk about the experimentation on different colors for the building. Guys, this is Indianapolis, not South Beach-save the pink for another complex.

4) The spectacularly inefficient office staff. Let's just say the staff is about as responsive as my dead Grandmother-although I could probably get a quicker result by dialing her old phone number over and over. Look, we know you don't actually *live* here (because we see you speeding out of here each night after a job well done), but you could at least act like you care about your job. If we call you about a maintenance issue, can you at least see if you can get that resolved sometime within the same calendar month? Also, do the phones in the office only receive incoming calls? They do work for outgoing calls, right? Do they have numbers on them (or based upon the appliances in each apartment-a rotary dial?) OK, just checking because we rarely get a return call upon making a request.

5) Although we appreciate the fact that you have paid for people to come water the "flowers" and "shrubbery" we would prefer if they could arrive at the complex and do their jobs sometime before midnight. I know, I know, it's cheaper to hire people in the middle of the night...but this isn't an office complex, it's an APARTMENT complex. People live here during then night. Well-the office staff doesn't, but other people do.

6) You know what looks pretty good from afar? The lakes. (The name of the complex is Somerset Lakes, after all). You know what doesn't look pretty good the closer you get to it? The lakes. Look, if we have any more half-submerged docks that have floated away from the shoreline you're going to be able to walk over the water from one side to the other. Also, mix in some chemicals once in a while to kill some of the algae. It's not that difficult.

Well, that's pretty much all I could think of for right now. In conclusion, unless you're prepared to suffer, stay away!

AIMCO STAFF ARE TRAINED TO SCREW YOU IN THE AZZ
Somerset Lakes is the biggest rip off in Indianapolis. The staff are racist and will charge you higher rent based on your race.
I lived in another AIMCO property and a staffperson told me they are TRAINED to lie in your face and get as much money out of you as they can. The mangement Chris and Darlene are fake they will smile in your face and yes you to death to get you to sign a lease and then blow you off when you need a repair. My lease is up in October and I am outta here. They can put as many notes on my car as they want I am collecting them to back up the clubhouse toilet when I leave haha.

Bad maintenance, poor electric
This apartment always has electricity going out, summer and winter. Earl, the head maintenance guy, just comes and makes some sarchastic remark, whether in person or on work sheets. He never really fixes anything.

In winter, called about circuit breaking, and they said, "Don't use blowdryers", and "Turn off your lights if you're going to run heater".

In the summer, they said, "Well, it's an old apartment; you can't expect it to run cold", and "You just can't turn on the air and expect cool air. They are so pitiful
I am currently a resident of Somerset Lakes and here to tell the apartment is nice and spacious but as far as the management and community it really sucks. They tell you not to park on the curb and mind you you are being stalked because they know what car you drive and will tag select individuals. Don't say nothing about because they will lie. They tagged my car on Sunday when the office is closed. So me trying to figure out who did it. So I go to the office Chris the apt managerr states she has an old lady who is a walker who does it for her let along the note stated 10:42 am I got the note coincidently at 10:43 and 52 seconds so where did she go that fast well my son stated he saw the person come out the building from across the street and so happens I seen her lookin out the window when when I ripped it up and threw it on the ground but the very first note I got about parking she said maintenance is who puts the notes on the car so make up your mind lady. Thats the first lie. Second she made a racial slur towards me I wanted to kick her in her messed up knee so bad she better be lucky I didnt stoop to her level. She makes comments like there was some noise after 10pm well the sucker across the street said it was a girl of a specific race so Chris calls my husband. We know nothing of course because we are asleep Chris says because they were a specific race she ASSumed it was for my apartment "How funny" well it wasnt then she goes on to say they got the license plate and asked me for the name of the person well I am here to tell you you cant trace temp plate rule number one dummy those numbers are so made up but enough about that they tack on late fees to rent when its on time and say they process rent on days the office is closed "I want to see the time card for that one. They call us to ask about noise in the building when we are out of town. How can it be us if we are over 400 miles away. Well you can tell this property is definitely not a comfortable place to live stay away if you can i cannot wait til July 31st cause I will be out of here So Darlene lying --- and the rest of the gang can kiss where the sun dont shine.

Old apartments
My apartment smelled like a smokey barn, they said it was new carpeting. My clothes had to be washed twice when I moved just to get the smell out. They get you with a smile and saying "its the best apartment in town" well the maintence worker said it anyway. I heard him say it to others as well, it's such a ploy..i bet he got money off his rent for doing it. Also, rent "deals" they are so full of it...my situation may have been different but they lie....PERIOD.

STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU ARE OVER 75 and 'OF A CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC'
Unless you are over 75 and not of a minority group you don't want to go there and you will not feel welcome. The management will treat you like crap. If you are one day late they will tack on exhorbitant fees and treat you like a criminal. They will doubletalk you until your head spins - AIMCO is shady and only out to make money. The rents are adjusted based on what culture you are and if you are not of the desirable group you will pay $200 - $300 more than everyone else. The apartments look nice cosmetically until you move in and everything starts to fall apart. They are very good at patching things up to appear better than they really are. Forget about getting aresponse from the office if you have a maintanence problem. The plumbing is horrible and the toilet will back up every other day. The wind howls so loud at night you will think that you are in the 7th circle of hell. Everyone is a senior citizen so you better not even THINK about playing music or talking above a whisper they will complain and put notes on your door.

STAY AWAY!

Better Than Most
I've lived at Somerset Lakes for about 10 months now. I'm not a fan of it being an elderly crowd with myself being in my mid-20s. It makes it a little more difficult to meet people that actually do things.

I haven't had many things go wrong with my apartment. My air conditioner wasn't working properly in the summer, but they came and fixed it in a day. They do various maintenance checks by request in case there is anything that needs tending to in your apartment.

The walls are kind of thin. I can lie in bed and hear the person either upstairs or next door snoring. I don't know if they're a loud snorer or what.

For the price of this place, you get a nice size apartment compared to others in the area. It's off the main road, but close enough to it to easily access Keystone, 86th St, and Allisonville Rd. The lake in the back makes for a nice view all the time. If I hadn't bought a house, I probably would have stayed here again for the location and service.

Totally Agree! Somerset is horrible
Somerset Lakes is the worst place to live, period. The air conditioning does not work at all. It amazes me, with like 75% of the residents being elderly, how do they stand 90 degree apartments? That is considered "OK" by the office staff. "The AC units can only cool 20 degrees below the outside temp" Right! It was only 95 degrees outside and it was 90 in my apartment. Horrible! The office staff is pathetic to say the least. I saw the staff get snappy even to elderly residents.

You are right about the gates, they never worked when I was there either.

The maintenance guys were like used car salesmen, if they found mold they would bleach it, not fix it. I also had trouble with my fuses, I couldnt wash dishes and watch TV at the same time.

AIMCO Won't Fix Roof Leaks
This apartment community has more pros than cons except for the property owner's (AIMCO's) refusal to properly repair chronic roof leaks to the one-bedroom-plus-den style apartment (leaks are caused by a design flaw that is repairable but expensive to fix). Unfortunately, this con cancels out all the community's pros and speaks volumes to AMICO's general attitude toward renters.

Nothing But Trouble!
I have had nothing but trouble since I moved into Somerset Lakes. First our Air Conditioner quit in the middle of August and the maintenace staff did not fix it for over 3 weeks! I had to go stay with friends because it was so hot. Then Winter came and our heat quit. Maintenace took their time fixing this as well, 3 months ago because the dining room window leaks badly when it rains - still no window. I rented the clubhouse once and the property manager tried to pin carpet stains and things of that nature that were already there on me and tried to get an extra $100 out of me on top of the rental fee. Living at Somerset Lakes has been nothing but a huge hassle and heachache for me and I'm sorry that I ever moved in here. When my lease is up I will not be renewing it. Do yourself a favor and do not move into this complex.

Great location and maintenance
We like the location, it's off the main roads and easy access to downtown and shopping on the north side. Our maintenance requests are taken care of quickly and once a month we have a door hanger placed on our door asking what needs repaired. The grounds are kept up and the people are friendly.

feels like home.
We moved here in January and have only has a few problems with one individual in the leasing office. I can call in and the requests are never followed up on. So I usually ask to speak with the Asst Manager and have no problem with getting things done.
I don't have an automatic garage door opener (the only garage without one) and that's frustrating but we enjoy being here.

Lived here a few months.
Have one chronically complaining neighbor that doesn't like kids or dogs and I have two of each so that creates some problems that nobody else seems to have, (ie., complaints of dog's barking or tieing up outside, was told we left our dog unattended outside all day when we never did-our dog has his own couch and rarely leaves it, was told of a complaint about my son's electric scooter when he doesn't even have one). Have brought the continous complaints - (harassment) to the attention of the office staff and I get the brush off. Was told the old guy upstairs has lived here a long time and they must respect that. Our neighbor next door is even moving to another building to get away from this guy. They have lived there longer than I have and they said they have constantly had problems and have even found him peering in their windows and when they informed the office of this their response was that since 9/11 everyone should be watching their neighbors!
Convenient laundry / trash area, spacious apartment layouts, ample storage/closets. Gated community but must pay extra $50 for remote to open gates. (New fee, old tenants have one they received for free)
