I am happy to say that I am very pleased with the choice I have made to move into the Lake Towers Apartments. I did my homework and shopped around before I chose to live here. It is really hard to find a place with covered parking, and being I just bought a new car that really meant a lot. Also, there is plenty parking for your guests. And the price is very very reasonable for a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment. I feel very safe with it being a gated community, and I love, love, love the lake view and pool. How fortunate was I to have brand new carpet. I have joined the Happy's Running Club, and I am meeting lots of great new friends. The festivals downtown and nightlife is amazing. I was worried about bugs, noise, and mildew because this is what I had heard about the place. I see absolutely none of that. Accept a bit noisy with the interstate, and just being in such close quarters with your neighbors. But, I am sure that is just what comes with living in any apartment. Great Place to Call Home.

I have been living at Lake Towers for seven months now. What's not to love? The location is perfect. Since moving in I've walked to the farmer's market, the Shaw Arts center, and to the Capitol Building (which being on the top floor I get a great view). At New Year's I watched the fireworks from my 1-bedroom that faces down town. During Baton Rouge's biggest parade, I was so close I could see where the floats turn the corner heading down 9th Street. You have Capitol Lake on the 3-bedroom side and the Governor's Mansion (yep, he really does live there and from time to time you'll see his helicopter land). I have no intention of leaving any time soon. All love affairs have their downsides. The pool is small and located at the back of the property as well as the bar-b-que grills. There is a white noise from being so close to I-110. The workout room is small. None of these were deterrents for me. For me the selling point..."location, location, location."

I am relocating from Boston to Baton Rouge. I was looking for an apt. beginning 1/1/14 and knew that I would be unable to physically get down to Baton Rouge to see any apartment that I wanted to view. I called a lot of places inquiring on availablity and requesting pictures of the apartments that I wanted to view be sent to me. I was a little bit early on apartments for 1/1, but the staff at Lake Towers took my information and the day a 2 bdrm apt opened up for 1/1, they called me about its availability. The person who I spoke to took a lot of time and care in helping me, knowing that all my questions about the apartment, etc. would need to be done over email and the phone. She helped me walk through the process of securing the apartment with relative ease. I can honestly say that of all the apartment complexes that I called, this one was the only one that A., made an effort to help me and B., really made the process simple and easy, which is why decided to choose them.

I've lived in Lake Towers for almost a year. I find the staff and residents to be very friendly and if I ever need anything, they don't hesitate to help. My apartment has become more and more homey through the months. I live by myself, so my apartment sometimes even feels too big. I love the large windows and lighting in the rooms. Most days, you don't even need to turn on the lights. The facilities are well kept and even the landscapers are friendly. My favorite part is the location and most likely the pool. There is nothing better than to come home from a long day and just collapse my the pool and relax. Also, walking distance to downtown and the river! 5 stars from me for the location.

Lake Towers is a great place to live. It is a quiet but friendly community. The facilities have several ammmenities like full kitchen washer/dryers in the unit, a pool and a fitness room. The view from my place is awesome! Being centrall located was a must for me, and I found that LT had everything I needed in a location I wanted. Julie, the leasing agent was very helpful and the office personnel are easily accessible from mail & packages to lost keys.

When I went to visit this apartment building, a roach crawled across the floor in the middle of the day. And this wasn't your typical Louisiana roach that lives outside, this was a german cockroach that lives in your cabinets and snacks on your food, drinks water from the dishes in your sink, etc. The woman who showed us the office was nice and accomodating, but she just squished the bug with her heel and told me that was part of living in Baton Rouge. I've now lived in Baton Rouge for 4 months in a different building and have never seen that kind of roach here. On top of that, the apartment looked nothing like the photos on the website, which is really misleading. It was old, dark, musty, and mildewy. It was overpriced, in my opinion, considering you have to deal with bugs and put up with less than stellar amenities. If you live here, you're paying to live in the Spanish Town area, and that, as far as I could see, was the only perk. That being said, the staff of the building was very patient and accommodating. It's a shame because I'm sure it would be a nice place to live with some updates and exterminating, but in my opinion I wouldn't bother.

I love my apartment!! The grounds are well kept, the maintenance workers are ompt & just the best! Well I hate to be debbie downer but I USED to enjoy the office staff but now the manager is a dry, unfriendly woman. The old manager,Jamie, was sweet as pie! Jamie was warm, friendly, always helpful, took requests seriously, just the BEST apartment manager I've had. I dont expect the manager to know each temant by name, its a pretty large community, but this new one barely greets tenants, its forced,& dry. I can not wait until my lease is up. There are issues such as speeding, drinking, loud parties, domestoc disputes being heard,& those are things ms.manager should work & focus on as opposed to being a mean little lady. I've been here 3years but I can not do business & pay my hard earned money to someone who clearly does not appreciate my business. The service received at any establishment can determine if the person still patronizes the business. lovely place but management is an important aspect.

My stay was great
I was living there during a semester of my time as a student at southern university, and I noticed a lot of other students also so I quickly thought it would be a place of noise and loud parties every weekend but that was definitely not the case. The place was so quiet and peaceful. I liked how sound proof the walls were. I actually had a full drum set there and nobody knew! If I had to live there again, I would without a problem. The staff was always great and the grounds were always in the best condition. Only thing I didn't like was the noise from the construction at times but who could control that? Great place to live.

Loved my apartment!!
I loved my apartment! Even though the kitchen was a little on the snug side, it saved me from having to clean a big kitchen and was open to the rest of the living area which was great for entertainment. I loved being able to look out at the capital and even had a slight view of the lake and it was just completely amazing! It was cool to be able to just hop right on the highway as I had to travel a lot for work and it was just a big convenience not having to go through traffic to get to the interstate like a few of the other properties I lived at in Baton Rouge. Oh! Another plus-- washer and dryer! Even though it was a stackable and not the full size that I'm used to, it was super convenient for the amount of rent I paid. I would still be living there if I didn't have a job transfer. The ladies in the office and maintenance were always so nice and overall was a really good living experience! Although it was an older building and did have its issues, I never had any major issues and any maintenance requests were taken care of quickly. I would rent from Lake Towers again if I had to move back to Baton Rouge!

Truly a horrible place to live
I read some positive reviews about this place, the rent seemed reasonable and the staff was nice, so I came in with an open mind. Now I'm thinking those positive reviews must have been planted. This place was horrible! I had mold in my bedroom and closet that was never taken care of, a hole under the sink that was also never taken care of, and the entire apartment smelled like smoke from the moment I moved in to the moment I left. The entire apartment felt like it was covered in grime no matter how much I cleaned. When I moved out I discovered more mold behind some furniture I hadn't moved in a while. It was disgusting! The elevators smelled like urine all the time and it was incredibly difficult to move in/out because they were so small. The walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors watching TV from my bedroom. The kitchen was very cramped, and the garbage disposal did not work at all. However there are a few positives: parking was covered and I never had to search for a spot, and the ladies in the office were always so nice. I almost feel bad writing a negative review.

More pros than cons
The most important thing in chosing to live at Lake Towers was safety. Coming from San Francisco to Baton Rouge I had concerns about crime etc...I can honestly say that I felt secure in Lake Towers with my wife and daughters. The buildings are a bit old, therefore there are some basic issues to contend with, but nothing so extreme there worth writing about. The two maintenance gentlemen were always kind, and whenever I needed something they were there very quickly. Deborah, the office mamger was always very cordial and attentive to whatever issue I raised. Due to my deciding to leave law school in Louisiana and return home to California I tried to break my lease without success. So, if you are nbot sure if youwould like living there, opt for the six month lease, you will save a ton of money if Lake Towers is not thge right place for youy.

Fairly Pleasant Stay
I rented a 1br apartment for the summer at Lake Towers. The managers were nice and helped me out with my problems, albeit with a little persistence on my part. No noticeable road noise, and the neighbors were quiet. The air conditioner couldn't really keep it as cool as I want it in the summer, and if you turn it too low it will freeze up, leak, and hardly work at all. I had a leak in the ceiling of my bathroom that took about a month to fix. Other than that, it was a fairly nice place. Due to the convenient location, I would stay there again.

Love this place
we moved in the first of January 2011. Yes it is small, but maintenance requests are answered IMMEDIATELY, the grounds are secure both with the gate and the location, so close to downtown and the lakes and park so a fun place to live! Rent is very reasonable, and my renters insurance is $100 a year less than in New Orleans! The view from our windows cannot be beat. We LOVE IT!

Love it!!!!
I have absolutely no complaints about this place. As a law student, these apartments are great for what they're worth. There are a lot of students that live here but most of them are mature graduate students so noise from parties is never a problem. The size is pretty decent and the washer and dryers are a life saver. The location is absolutely perfect. You are in the heart of Spanish town which is walking distance to downtown, and you are literally feet from the interstate so you're never really far away from anything. Lsu is a 3 minute drive and Su is a 7 minute drive. With the covered parking and gated access, you and your car will be safe! I mean no apartment is perfect, but if you're looking for location, safety, convenience, and decent living space, Lake towers is close to perfect! And no. I wasnt paid to say this.

Lake Towers
We have been living at Lake Towers for approximately 10 months now and we are very pleased with the place for a few reasons: 1. Security. Although no "gated" community is truly secure, it's nice to know that there is an extra level there to keep your comfortable. At the very least, it prevents people from just walking into the complex and messing with apts or cars, and when i go to walk my dog at night I feel so much safer knowing there's a huge metal grate between me and the rest of the world. Also, we have a really nice courtesy officer that lives on site and even parks his patrol car in the complex, which I'm sure has served as a great deterrent. As far as I know, I haven't heard of a single incident to happen here since we've moved in. 2. Staff. The office staff are truly wonderful and helpful people. Mrs Deborah and Mrs Retina are probably the nicest people you will ever meet and always remember my & my roommate's names. They even remember my dog! Every time we walk by the office they stop and say hello and offer us some popcorn (they recently got this super cool carnival style popcorn maker for residents!). They seem to truly take an honest interest in our lives, which really means a lot. 3. Maintenance. Of the very few maintenance issues we have had, they are usually resolved in a matter of hours, which is UNHEARD OF in any of my other complexes. I remember calling in to the answering service very early one morning about a clogged up toilet and not an hour after the office opened one of the maintenance technicians was already at my apartment to fix it. Not to mention that when our A/C started to go south they completely replaced it! At my old complexes we would have had to suffer for months on end as they tried to "repair" it until finally we threaten to leave and they replace it. Not here. One week and they ordered it, installed it, and everything was running better than it was to begin with. 4. Location. I have to admit, I was pretty worried about traffic coming from the downtown area. However, I can probably count on one hand how many times i've been "stuck" in traffic leaving from here. There's usually a bit of congestion near the bridge, but by the time you listen to one song on the radio you've usually made your way through. Also, we had no idea that there was such a thriving downtown social scene. There is a beautiful little fresh market that is available Saturday mornings, and multiple events throughout the year that are almost always free. For instance, a few months back there was a HUGE Earth Day Festival with live music and fashion shows and activities. It was so much fun to just go exploring all that they had. I'm looking forward to the Downtown Festival of Lights this Friday with free ice skating and christmas movies and all kinds of stuff. How often do you have walking access to huge events like that? 5. Lagniappe. I hardly ever have to park more than a few spaces away from my staircase or elevator. There's a nice, big freight elevator for moving furniture. The walls are made of concrete so i NEVER hear my neighbors and I can listen to my tv or radio pretty loud and they never hear me. Everyone is so quiet and respectful of their neighbors. The office staff have started hosting events for residents with free food and prizes. There's a really nice workout room (even though i dont work out :p). PLUS there are 5 CLOSETS in my two bedroom apartment! Overall, if you work downtown, it's an excellent location. BUT if you're an LSU Student or work near the mall it's equally great! I actually attend LSU and work at the mall and almost always can make it to where i'm going in <30 minutes. A lot of friends have lived here and have all had equally positive experiences. PS: Totally almost forgot! There's a W/D In every unit!

Unhealthy place to live
When I first moved in, there were horrible huge bleach stains on the carpet all along the wall. I had to fight for a new carpet, which should have already been replaced. But, that was just the beginning. The building's walls are completely concrete, and in the winter, this caused horrible condensation on the inside of our apartment walls and windows. This in turn caused an awful, awful mold problem all over our walls and behind our furniture that would not stop coming back after I cleaned it with pure bleach. Maintenance only painted over it multiple times, which did not keep it from growing through the paint. The blackish mold caused me to have respiratory problems and sinus infections. I hired a professional mold inspector, who told me that the reason the mold kept coming back was because the moisture was coming in from the outside due to the porous condition of the old concrete walls. He also told me that each circle on the wall contained millions of spores, and each time I was cleaning it, I was releasing those spores and infecting the air and my furniture. I had a horrible time trying to get out of the lease, and the (new) manager tried to say it was my fault for the mold. The mold inspector, however, said there was nothing I could do. Finally, after I personally contacted the manager's boss (who told me the manager had never mentioned me) and threatened to take the apartment to court with the pictures I'd taken, I was quickly let out of the lease and was given my deposits back. It was a horrible, awful ordeal. Manager was cold and had no compassion whatsoever. I have no doubt in my mind whoever moves into our apartment will have the same mold problem because I doubt the issue has been resolved. I truly believe that the bleach stains on the carpet along the walls when I first moved in showed the cleaning lady's attempt to get rid of the mold, even though the manager had supposedly "never had the problem in the past." Please look at the pictures I posted of the mold. To anyone who has already moved in, check behind your furniture next to the walls that face the outside while it's winter. That's where I found the mold all over the walls.

A terrible place to live
By far, the worst apartment complex I've ever lived at. When we moved in, the apartment was not ready (holes in the wall, closet shelf and hangers not attached, ...). It should have been our first clue when it took weeks and multiple requests to get the apartment "move-in" ready. Gustave was a joke. It took over a year and a lot of badgering to get our apartment close to fully restored. My coworkers had houses demolished and rebuilt in less time! And the contractors Lake Towers used raided our medicine cabinet, stole all the pain relievers, and they found some cash and stole it too! We brought it to management's attention, but they did nothing (not even get a new crew in). I have never gotten any maintenance done on the first request. I have only gotten work requests done when I explicitly tell the maintenance men how to do it. The building has a terrible design; the apartments vent into each other so you smell your neighbor's smoke and bathroom business. The dishwashers are all installed incorrectly so that they collect grit and deposit it onto dishes. The grounds are poorly designed. Part of the parking lot turns into a mud-pit during heavy rains, and the "lush landscaping"/pet area is nothing more than a constantly flooded drainage ditch. They rarely refill doggie disposal bags, and the complex is consequently well-fertilized. Good for them, bad for your shoes since the lighting in is inadequate. The newest managers (on our third set of office staff in 2 years) are liars. When our least expired last, we knew we had to tell them one month before that we did not wish to renew. We went down to the office one month before, and said that we wanted a short term lease instead of another full year. They were busy and told us to leave and come back the next day. When we did, they told us the lease had already rolled over and there was absolutely nothing they could do--we're stuck in this dump for another year.

Highly recommend
I have lived here for two years and I'm only moving out because I'm taking a job in another city. This place is quiet and the staff is very helpful. If you put in a maintenance request it is taken care of that day. The apartments are very nice and updated and the location was convenient for me because I was always travelling against the flow of traffic, so getting anywhere was quick and easy. I'm a girl who lived alone and I never felt unsafe.

A nice place
I lived at Lake Towers for a year and was always satisfied. I had to get maintenance to come to my apartment twice, and both times they fixed the problems the day after I reported them. My mom and I laughed when we saw the apartment's pictures online because they certainly glorify the place. I'm almost positive that some of the pictures on their website are from other cities. The elevators are dreadfully slow and extremely hot during the summer, but that is probably my biggest complaint. As an LSU student, the commute wasn't too bad, but my friends sometimes complained that it was far away. Most of my friends had never heard of the place and got lost their first few times coming. I was very rarely scared in the parking lot... they have lights and a gate. One of my friends hit his car on one of the columns because parking is tight, but he's stupid. I never had a problem with it. Hooray for covered parking... HUGE plus!! Lake Towers is a very quiet place, and a lot of the tenants are older. A lot of the apartments have great views of the lake or of the capitol. One time there was some huge function happening downtown and the police blocked off the street of the apartment. They wouldn't grant me and a few other Lake Towers tenants access to our apartment (which is on a one-way road, the ONLY way to get to the apartment) because we didn't have any proof of living in the apartment. I called the city police multiple times to complain and drove around just about every way I could to try to get around it... All in all they wouldn't let me get to my own apartment for about 3 hours. That wasn't Lake Tower's fault though, it was the police's. Just make sure the apartment is either listed as your home on your license or carry a piece of mail in your car at all times. Someone mentioned that driving around during the football games was hard. Well duh, it is no matter where you are coming from... the football games cause congestion almost everywhere in Baton Rouge. I moved out to get a new start closer to campus and on the LSU bus route. Unfortunately I haven't found anything nearly as good for the price.

Overall I LOVE IT when I need something fixed their on it! ALL of the workers are so sweet and nice! Also they are willing to work with you. The apartments are in very good shape. Lake Towers...the home you never wanted.
I am counting down the days until my lease expires. I am not sure what is going on with this place lately. First year I lived here was good, can't say the same for the second (and my last). Reporting problems to maintenance is a joke. Problems are not resolved, only excuses are given. Most of the time, it takes months, and multiple "Trys" by the staff to get anything taken care of. The "freight" elevator is nothing more than a standard elevator...not easy to move anything into. When the elevator is functioning (which is rare), its kind of like a near death experience everytime you ride. The last issue I have would be the parking lot. Sure there is covered parking, but when it rains, one side of the parking lot turns into a mud pit. This is not an exaggeration. Anyone can check it out...although its a gated complex, the gate rarely works.

the renovations are fabulous!
These apartments are totally new inside and out. I never would have believed they could look so good. Wood floors in the kitchen and dining area (thank you-no more stains in the carpet!) cool picture molding so you can hang pictures like an art gallery does (so easy and very chic). They added washer & dryer to every apartment and the light fixtures are very neat (I'd pick them out for my house - not apartment grade stuff)
