My year plus....
Very pleased with the condition and maintenance and the people in the building. The tenants are quiet and friendly for how many people live here. Facility on outside as kept up as inside which is important.

Stay Away!!!!
If you like bed bugs, roaches, maintenance people with bad attitudes...welcome home! If not, stay away from this horrible place. I had roaches for over a month in my apartment and in the hallway. The manager who is now gone seemed to care but could get nothing done for some reason. Managers here come and go as well as office people. The hallways are gross although they say they have been going to repair them forever. This is no way to live.

Will rip you off
I had issues the day we signed our contract. Just to let you know, if you don't want to pay for a month more than your 6 or 12 month contract, you HAVE to sign the 1st of the month. We signed the 2nd of the month and were stuck with paying for 7 months (minus one day) instead of the 6 months we planned. We were told that there is a buzzer system in each unit so we can buzz in guests into the building. This is not true for building four (my building 2860). As it turns out, to work the buzzer system for the locked doors in building four, you have to also pay for a landline phone... another $20/month. I complained and complained and each time was told something different. Because of this problem, all packages are delivered to the front office. I finally contacted the corporate offices in Boston and still did not get it resolved. Besides that issue, the hallways are beyond dirty and smell really bad, dog poop is all over the grass, and there is no playground equiptment for children. I live on the second floor and have to run the shower for about 10 minutes each day before getting warm water. We are building a home and can't wait until we get out of this dump. The management and how things are run bothers me more than anything. They don't care about the buildings or tenents so once you sign a contract, don't expect anything from them.

Don't waste your money
I have lived in apartments in the city of St. Joseph that were part of a house and some of them were a little crummy, but they were wonderful compared to this. I moved in in the summer of 2007 and had to have my air conditioner either fixed or replaced 4 times. Finally I got a "brand new" one put in. I had rain coming in through my window every rain storm. That was "fixed" about 6 times and there is still water leaking when the snow melts. The heating is terrible. You turn on the heat and it's either 50 degrees or 85. You cannot control the temperature. There is a lack of hot water. I find myself taking 2 minute showers due to this. Lately the water pressure has almost been nonexistent. Not including the time when I was taking a shower and it completely just turned off on me. The hallways are filthy and smell terrible. Yes, they allow you to have pets (dogs included, which is the only reason I'm renting from them). They provide bags and a trash can for waste and get upset and threaten to evict because the waste isn't being picked up. Well, maybe if the bags were restocked when they were gone, we would pick up the waste. Right now the trash can is so full, it will soon be overflowing. The maintenance men are wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. I just think there isn't much they can do to fix up an old building that is coming apart at the seams. Trying to get someone to fix it by calling the office is yet another story. I had to threaten to report them in order for someone to finally come and do something about the water leakage. If you can find any other place to live, please do so and only come here if it is the last resort. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

SUCKS BADLY, except for the wonderful view of Lake MI
These are the worst apts in ever stayed in. I signed a one year lease with them and as soon as the winter started....it started raining inside my bedroom too. I kept complaining to the staff and they said, it was fixed...but as soon as the next rain comes... it starts pouring inside the bedroom. the corridors smell and look like garbage. The only thing that could comfort me was the wonderful view of Lake Michigan, I had from my apt, which i could not enjoy long. finally, they transfered me to another property with was better than this one. The staff is friendly as long as u r living there, but they do not leave any opportunity to suck the money from you. But can't complain much as they do not have much competition in this small place.

Not impressed
Did a summer internship in St. Joseph's and lived at Lakecrest apartments. For the record, my apartment is the only thing I did not like about my stay in St Joseph. Starting from the huge space beneath the front door, the single living room located aircondition unit that did not really work to the cheap fixtures and fittings were terrible. Did they tell you that the train wakes you up at dawn on most mornings?? Didn't think so.

Ok experience
I lived in lakecrest Ravine for 2 years. That is until one day the complex caught on fire in the attic.
Beofe the fire the place was ok, not the best. There was always someones music and base blaring out in the parking lot. We saw "silverfish" bugs on accasion. Living on the 3rd floor, we rarely had to use our heat in the winter. We actually had to open the window because it was hot.
I never felt unsafe, but building wasnt the cleanest in the hallways.

YES NICE PLACE TO LIVE
WE ENJOYED OUR EXPERIENCE OF LIVING HERE. THE APARTMENT COMPLEX IS WELL MAINTAINED, THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. THE 2 BEDROOM DELUXE(IN WHICH WE LIVED) IS REALLY SPACIOUS WITH A HUGE LIVING ROOM. IT IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE APARTMENT I HAVE EVER LIVED IN. THE MASTER BEDROOM SIZE IS ALSO BIG AND HAS A NICE WALK IN CLOSET. ALL IN ALL I WOULD REALLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO LIKES SPACE AND COMFORT.
