THE MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE

I wish I could give a zero. Misty is a crappy apartment manager and that’s putting it mildly. She tried to pay me to tell her information on another tenant. She has asked other tenants about my personal life. The regional apartment manager and the owners are no better. They left me in an apartment with black mold for 4 years. I have proof. They have several units with water damage and black mold. She made me change my original bad review in order to move, which she still didn’t move me. I changed it back once I moved to another unit, which only happened because I contacted her manager and mentioned lawyers. I need a new refrigerator and they pulled an old one from the backyard that doesn’t work and freezes my food in the refrigerator part. Shellie has been made aware of the harassment from Misty and the abuse of power, but she said she refuses to fire Misty. The management is completely trash and dysfunctional. They do not like to be held accountable for repairs or anything else. I had to file a police report against Misty for harassment. I am not the only tenant to do so and she still hasn’t been fired. She screamed at my son saying he doesn’t live here and threatened to call the cops on him. His twin intervened. She didn’t even apologize. They are gross. The pictures attached of are my old apartment. Trust me. They don’t care about anything except money. Any reviews that are positive about her are her friends, bribes, or blackmail.

I so appreciate the Staff here at Meadowood Park. On those rare occasions, when I need something repaired I place one call and it gets fixed promptly. Yesterday, I needed service and David (Maintenance Supervisor), responding to my request took care of it. I thank ALL staff at Meadowood Park apartments.

I literally watched this community go from a beautiful safe community, to the projects!! You're literally only paying to say you live in the suburbs at this point! The caliber of ppl has dramatically decreased. The type of children that are here now... it's a zoo. There's literally always spit and trash up and down the breeze way.. there's a group of school age children who are never actually in school always hanging around the parking lot. I had to go off on one kid, he had the audacity to ask a visitor of mine if he had drugs!! Yes, that should explain the type of "children". The landscaping upfront is beautiful, in the back it looks like it's not even part of the complex so make sure you drive all the way through it first! I literally have to go stand outside if I want them to not blow grass all over my patio and just leave it. Literally it seems to get worse and worse.

This place is horrible now. They let a lot of unsavory people move in. They should do a background check and interview people. They don't apply the rules to everyone. They don't do repairs in a timely fashion. The work that is done is shotty at best. When I moved in there were things that were clearly just put together with "bubble gum and spit". Worst place ever. I am currently looking for a new place.

Well what can I say the Apartments are poorly insulated. You are paying strictly for the City of Wixom. Everything that has been in the apartments have been here for years. Really you could call this place a ------ it is just in the Suburbs. So they know you would put up with things that are not right to stay in the Area. You really and truly don't have a Voice or you risk getting put out!!! You have no Privacy the Office Staff is in the wrong things instead of replacing things like the Windows, PowerWashing, Cleaning the Snow Correctly off the Streets they are into idle Gossip!!! Now they have the system where they get your Light and Gas Bill in order for you to stay here you have to sign the papers so your Bills can go to straight to the Office is you have a past due Bill. So if you are looking for a place of Privacy this is not it. Even though it is a Tax Credit Property they treat the People that live here very Poorly and look down at them. Without us they wouldn't have a JOB, so I can't understand the Gossip, the Rudeness, and the Ugliness!!!

I've lived here a year and a half and it's basically a 50/50. The apartments themselves are nice and fairly spacious but there were a few problems that needed to be fixed as soon as I moved in (many plug outlets didn't work properly, a few leaks here & there) I suspect this unit had been trashed before (strong smell of cat pee, crayon all over bedroom windowsill, filthy closet doors & windowsills&washer) and the maintenance in charge of turning this unit over didn't do a good job (it wasn't very clean, there's actual strands of long black hair stuck in the paint in various places, cupboards & long counter weren't put on properly). Maintenance has been really good otherwise though, besides in winter there were only a few guys left and sidewalks would only get shoveled like every 3 days past 2 pm, so there was no leaving home in the morning. There still needs to be more maintenance workers, there is always trash on the ground (I have even seen condom wrappers on the ground twice) and there are big nasty spiderwebs all in the mailbox area. There are ALWAYS kids playing & screaming & throwing things around outside and very few are supervised by adults. I've even heard stories of them trying to get into other's apartments to steal things and several cars have been vandalized. And the office has sent out letters reminding people it's against rules for unsupervised kids etc. (though it continues anyways) and saying there is to be no underage sexual acts in public??? So apparently it's been a problem of kids having sex outside?? The office says to report things but nothing changes as far as the crazy behaviour. The office staff seem polite to me, the only thing I don't like is that when you need something done in your unit, they will rarely give you a time and get snippy when you ask for it to be done when you're there on a certain date, and they will never call ahead of time. If you ask for maintenance expect for them to come whenever it is they have time, though they usually will come quickly (even within 10 min sometimes). The neighbors haven't been too bad, some good, some bad. I never hear the neighbor on the side of my unit but I often hear the person above me stomping around and dropping things and playing music at the worst hours from 6 AM-11AM and 10PM-3AM. And do expect people to stare into your apartment when they walk by. It is typically loud at night, people drive by and/or park blasting music so loud at all hours. people will walk through the corridors/breezeways talking loud, yelling, singing, talking to someone on speakerphone loudly, etc. Some people's guests are so rude, on different occasions I've been told (by a visitor at that) that I need to "get out of the way" just because I have my dog next to me (on a leash & behaving well) and expected to go out of my way into the parking lot just bc they don't want to walk past us. Other people let their dogs out without leashes or let the leash so loose the dog is 2 yards away. there has also been a bug problem, nasty spiders & beetles inside, bees that make holes in wood and plants outside, but the exterminator works. So overall, the apartment and complex itself is nice, maintenance is 75% good, office staff polite, residents about 60% good, but visitors and whoever comes out at night are loud, inconsiderate, & reckless. The area this place is in sucks too, there are no buses/public transport, but the apartments are one of the best for the price I've heard of in Oakland co.

I have lived here just under a year and have had a great experience. The staff have been professional and address concerns .Maintenance are hard working, responding timely and politely. I really appreciate the apartments have features for people with different abilities.The doorways are wider, the bathrooms accessible for mobility aids,etc. The apartment is spacious and the price is fair. I cannot hear my neighbor and I am on the lower unit. I love the ample storage also. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath larger unit and we really like it.I will be signing a new lease. I was disappointed to see any negative reviews and I would encourage people to either call or write out their concerns to the office. The only complaint I have is that there is no recycling bins or service, or public transportation. Those however, are City issues and not int he control of the Apartment Community.

These apartments are terribly insulated. the heat goes straight out. I can feel the cold air coming in through electrical outlets against the walls and my blinds moved when the wind blew by my patio door but the door was completely shut!! air is also escaping through the front door. I'm constantly worried that the apartment under me hears every move I make, even when I try to be cautious. constantly feeling stressed over that. neighbors aren't friendly at all... I want to move ASAP. Not to mention my carpet smells like cat piss right by the furnace. you can literally see the spots in the carpet. I mesntioned this to the complex, and they told me that the carpets were probably still drying from when they were last cleaned??? nope, still hasn't gone away. I can't stand this place whatsoever. the picture I posted shows some of the spots on the floor. furnace is extremely loud and makes a weird noise in the vent in the bedroom. the sink in the bathroom is extremely low and there's almost three feet of space between the toilet paper dispenser and the toilet. the bedroom is oversized, and the living room is tiny. almost 0 counter space. the floors feel uneven in some spots and the place shakes when I'm just walking around!! I live by myself with no pets at all and the people downstairs keep complaining of banging and noises. i can't even walk around in my own apartment without someone bitching at me every single day!!! I've talked to 3 different people at the leasing office about it, but they didn't relay the message to each other whatsoever. Shelly called me today and was completely RUDE. I am highly disappointed. the advertisements for these "luxury" apartments is FALSE. they're tiny with too big bedrooms. I couldn't imagine trying to have a pet or another person living here because it's so damn small!

Nice Apartments however the drawback is some people let their kids in the courtyard and on the grounds daily/nightly unsupervised,they are screaming, throwing sticks, trashing things. Wixom is 5 min. form Novi which is very nice.I think Wixom people are odd.I am sorry, I came form a trendy urban neighborhood and these peoeple here and at the stores seen very strange.Hard to explain,think Madison Heights or Hazel Park only weirder.It appears they are in a time warp of sorts.We were so use to Wi-Fi and Starbucks and here it is non existant unless you want to deal with old Comcrap and their old cables running across your floors..., you cannot even get U verse here yet! barely a cell phone signal.They are building some sweet homes nearby so I have hope U-Verse will get here.I feel like this is a backdrop for a B rated movie.The Adults(most) are like people of Walmart.com types.The children (most) are well...relatives of of the former.I did see a few hipsters and some normal people excercising,I think I will chat with them in the work out room.The Apartments are good.The Maintenance is good and the office staff rocks! they allow tiny pups:) Good place to live overall.

This place has MOMMA Drama. The parents are suppose to be the adults and the adults can not get along how can you expect the children to learn and follow their parents. The parents are at much fault as the kids because they have no idea what there children are doing because they never attempt to watch or supervisor their own. And then when something goes wrong parents can involved by not talking amongst themselves but, lets just call the Wixom Police. The Police don't live here you do! The Police are not our security guards. DHS Management needs to in force the rules to the fullest and step up and see what going on by monitoring the area. Come out of the office and watch and see for yourself don't just wait for something to happen. You might be surprised of whom it may be and what building its coming from. Years have shown that the same building in past has had the same problems and look at the tenants you have and whom has been there and who has left, ,funny the problem is still there.

I currently live here(16 months).When I moved in, the apartment was very clean(no complaints) i haven't had any bad experiences living here. the maintenance people are usually on point.Snow is picked immediately, the grounds are well kept.Everything in my apartment is working.The rent is alittle expensive but its perfect for a single working mom. Good schools,transportation,and i think its rather safe here.

where do I start I'm moving in sometime in 2011 and I hate this place management is lazy nasty disgusting these apartments are not kept up the property is being a row in time management does not know what they're doing the people they are getting rid of which were the good employees and replacing them with dumb --- people twit if you would call them are Bruce f*** discriminating ignorant I have been here almost 2 years I pay my rent on time never have had an infection notice never a letter always paid always overpay I bet you even eight hundred dollars before when I first moved in my room with 762 me and my husband were told that if we paid our rent before the due date always on time never any problems I will not go up there is a chance that it will go down that was a total lie and peace of b******* our rent have went up to 7 not need to and then because I'm on a back in where is plus a lot we have nothing but f****** water bugs everywhere spiders everywhere but I'm at all times and I've called them I've asked him do not send Pest Control into my apartment without me and my husband be here soon as we have to they still the man r can't say nothing was done we still have bugs everywhere but the problem is we paid a new car pc just to have the carpet start ripping up within a month after we move it maintenance and they will have the carpet people around they still have not come I lease is up we're getting ready to pull this is the b******* --- place the worst day so far away they do nothing they sit on your --- is very rude b5 carpet ripping and tearing what I was told it was no its not it was dirty to get go there were staying on the carpet the pattern of me is dirty so nothing was changed out the used cheap --- place if they cut corners they fired the old pasta house company which was the greatest because we never have a higher a radical what is a piece of b******* oz pop control place that does nothing doesn't even spray I've had to leave behind my apartment for going on 3 weeks but you have a company I come grab those grounds are cats no there's this place looks like s*** now I asked if there be a light on the back in nobody ever got back in touch with me know corporate returns your calls been people outside my apartment knocking on my window trying to break in I reported to have nothing done I've had a car damaged here I asked could I be placed on one of the front part mint they told me if I do I will have to sign a new lease and my rent will go up another hundred and fifty dollars so basically the base rent without ever being charged 3 marrones look like b******* I have my own washer and dryer but I'm still paying monthly fee of about $29 for what if what is included I'm paying my electric bill and on gas bill what are you charged me for it if I have my own washer and dryer. This place for some reason it is grown black hole which is underneath the caulking so it was here before I moved in and make up the shower curtain rod is falling off the wall mirror in my bathroom is falling you call maintenance to fix anything everybody has does have does everything my husband has to fix stuff in this apartmentstay away from this place now they are having sex in a movie in which is destroying property I'm sorry babe yes I am glad but this place is becoming ------ I am Black so no its not a racial thing because I'm a child I'm black and white its management is crappy

I currently live at Meadowood Park, let me start with the staff. Personally everyone except Angela has been great. Angela has a very nasty personality and attitude. She is not pleasant at all to be working with the public. Maintenance, I have no problem with them personally.. My apartment, it was nasty when I moved in, the carpet is dirty and it is the ugliest carpet ever. It's not fluffy it's almost like having hard wood floors. The bathrooms were dirty as well. My laundry room boy oh boy...talk about filthy, as a new tenant I don't want to have to throw away someone else underwears. In a shell I had a lot of cleaning to do to my new apartment. After about a month being there I started looking for my next move as soon as this lease is up. I would say this place is ok if you have no other option. Below o will not put the number of bedrooms or the exact amount of my rent. You never know if they are trying to figure our whois writing this and then there may be more problems

This will be the last year here. The staff won't work with you, they raise the rent between 30-60 a year, and you get nothing extra for it. They took away the basketball for the kids and the monster club, so they charge more and take away. They don't nearly do as much for the tenants as they used to. As for the structure, your utilities here are high as the apartments are drafty even with plastic over the windows. The inside floor leading out to the patio gets damp alot and sometimes will even be wet whenever it rains. It's a nice place, but these type of issues aren't worth it for the price they charge.

THE SCHOOLS ARE TOTALLY WORTH BEING HERE ONLY!! Don't indulge any info you don't want repeated it definitely will get out elementary kids can hold a secret better than these big mouth ------- that work here (especially -------!!) Its ssoooo many things about Meadowood that I could tell you why NOT to live here but it would be an essay...BE CAUTIOUS ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING & STAY TO YOURSELF! !

this place is honestly a joke, i lived there from spring 2009-summer 2010 and he are my experiences, maintenance people barging in without knocking whenever they feel like, little kids destroying everything ex) the basketball hoop was actually taken down for 6 months because kids were purposely damaging it, the pool hours were cut, as a punishment, because the place was being vandalized. During the summer our AC broke and it took them 3 weeks to fix it, WELL DONE. One night i came home and went out to get the mail and their was a notice posted by management that someone had been robbed at knife point outside their apartment. As people have said before, this is a section 8 complex and there is a max income allowed for their tenants which is weird because my new neighbors when i lived their apparently had no problem buying a brand new shiny dodge charger srt, these people are making under 34k but can afford a $50k car? the place is full of drug dealers period. there are cop calls nightly throughout the entire complex, this place is a joke and is full of detroit trash

Completley soured me on all Apartment living.

When I first looked up apartment listings and found this place, everything looked great. Washer/dryer advertised as included in the rent price. This was not to be though, upon discussing leases terms I was informed about their BLATANT FALSE ADVERTISING, and that it was only the washer/dryer hook-up that was included and that the washer/dryer itself was to be rented seperatley. As I was in a pinch still agreed terms and moved...big mistake! Office staff was all too friendly when touring the complex, but their tune quickly changed once all the paperwork was signed. They were rude, far from helpful and hugely disorganized. Several phone calls would have to be made regarding the same issues - not to mention one about our DISHWASHER FLOODING that was never even looked into. After only a couple months of being there, I went w/o for the remainder of the lease. When this was brought up to the office again toward the end, I was told that it was my fault for not continuing to call about it. Seriously? Skip this one - you'll be glad you did.

Some sort of low-income scam/BS

I was driving by this place looking around town for a place to live and stopped into the leasing office. Apparently they have an income MAXIMUM for renting here??!! WTF, who would limit how much income a renter has? It is like they WANT it to be ------. The MAX income 2 people can have to rent a 2 bedroom is $34,000. What two people with full-time jobs have that little income? Oh, and this is to rent an $800/month apartment. What a friggin section 8 ------ scam. The management company only wants guaranteed government subsidized rent from its tenants. They don't want normal working people with an ounce of class living here. This place will be extremely ------ in a short amount of years with this business plan. It is a nice little slice of a bad part of Detroit, right in the nice area of Wixom/South Lyon. Oh, and of course lets pollute an award-winning classy school district like South Lyon with the section 8 irresponsible losers who are the only who qualify to live here. ---- that.

Promblematic Tenant

If I didn't know any better, I'd say these people were related to he KKK. "Problematic Tenant" is what Scott Rzepka told me that I have been labeled here at Meadowood Park Apartments and he also told me that I could get hurt if I didn't back down...and the message was clear when he was telling me that my MSHDA benefits would be closed and well owning that new home I want through their Key to Own Program will never be...vigilantes, but I won't let that deter me from reaching my goals and I've added a few along the way, there will be changes and I will be here to see it through! Unit tested positive for Toxic Black Mold, and other Mycotoxins...you won't believe the state of the filter in the Hydro Heater...run home and take your covers off and see if you see what I see in ours, my God it's caked up with molds, no wonder why our counts were TNTC -->Too Numerous Too Count! The unit can be found at (will list tomorrow) at Meadowood Park Apartments, come see it for yourself and is open for display until we move late evening on September 30, 2011. You may stop by at anytime after 6:00p and take photos and videos before we lock it up.

Bad place from the beginning

The manager in the office has been rude to us since we moved in just 8 days ago. Big attitude. When we moved in, we smelled gas, so we called maintenance, he said the pilot burnt out and re-lit it. Just today (8 days later) an outside inspector comes in to check the furnace (doing his rounds of all of the units) and refused to touch the furnace because there is gas leak. He calls the office, lets them know and maintenance attempts to fix it, says its fixed and the office acts like it is absolutely no big deal. I have an infant and have been breathing it for 8 days now on a daily basis. This is the first apartment complex out of 7 that I have lived in that I am completely unhappy with. I also still do not have cable because the office has done the paperwork for comcast wrong.

Maintenance bumped into the heat and left if jarred and mold can be seen caked up on the sides and falling and being blown out from the heater. I very recently found what appears to be black mold growing on water damage panel, wall and dry-board from their maintenance staff installing a new hot water tank in. I found this to be common in most tenants units as maintenance staff is limited and it is obvious that they don't have time to care or take care in their work. I will be using this experience as a means to get mold laws here in Michigan and will be starting a Petition for a Collective Action (on the ballots 2013) and I am counting on all of you viewers support...because Michigan residents need to be protected from people like this. MOLD - MYCOTOXINS - TOXIC SPORES

Our unit have tested positive for MYCOTOXINS, MOLD, TOXIC SPORES and I have provided them with a Mold Report and they have done nothing to get the mold out, in fact they actually lied to me about their units having problems with mold, water damage or bugs, yet here we are, living in an unhealthy air environment, caused by their competent maintenance staff of many years, lol...yeah right! NOT!!! After maintenance installed new water tank they denied ever seeing a leak from the tank as well as too even went as far to deny the water damage and they painted over it...its no wonder why our unit has mold and why my health is not getting any better and the health of my children being jeopardized. My son and me have been coughing again and we both have Asthma thanks to mold exposure...we do not deserve the mistreatment. My doctor just put me on a three day antibiotic because I have been having problems breathing and now has a cough and sputum, I sure hope that I don't get pneumonia again. I am very concerned about the long-term exposure of mold and what diseases it can cause 10, 20, or even 30 years from now in my children bodies and my body as well. Hopefully when I take them my physicians medical recommendations later this evening, they will do right by us and put us up in a hotel until they get our unit and our belonging together...wishful thinking but I gotta try

so sad

I lived at meadowood for almost a year and the drama there was too much so I had to leave. Yes, I broke my lease early and for good reasons #1. No parental control I satyed by the playground kids between the ages of 7-20 walking around using profanity, fighting, feeling on each other like they are grown and the parents were nowhere to be found. Kids stayed on the playgound from 9 am until 9 pm a good way for the parents to get rid of them management tried to solve the problems with the kids but they cannot parent these kids. My neighbor would leave her children outside on the playground and ask my son to watch them well he is only 10 years old. So so ------ if you want the ghettoness of the east side of detroit with the suburban touch then this is the place for you. Would not recommend this apartment to a dead dog.
