Rubbish!!!
One of my worst experiences in apartment complex... Unbelievably unprofessional staff, lazy maintenance, old apartments with plenty of maintenance requirements... in my 1 year tenure, faced issues with broken pipes and water in bathrooms/bedroom, broken window which fell off by itself... Heard stories of many thefts in this complex - very unsecure environment. Stay away if you can.

They will rip-you when you leave!!!!
Beware to take photos and proofs of communication with leasing office.. I faced a charge of >$1000 when I left!!! I left a clean carpet and I was charged for replacement of whole!!! Extremely rude staff- You will never feel like speaking to anyone except Toniee... Many cases of burglary in this complex and felt very unsafe to live... Reach me at prashant_ssk@yahoo.com if you need more info...

we liked it
I lived at Cedar Trace for two years June 2006-July 2008. We lived in a 2-bed townhouse and enjoyed it for the most part. We paid our rent on time and the one time there was a mix-up, the management was reasonable with us. Our neighbors were quiet for the most part and there was always parking. Maintenance was responsive.

Where to start
I had high hopes as the staff was really nice before I signed the lease..... Since then it has been horrible. I have a two bedroom townhouse that I pay to much for and expected to be treated like a human. Here is what all that has happened in 5 months so far! 1.) The sidewalk in front of my place floods everytime it rains and makes a major mudpit. I asked for this to be fixed. They said they are working on the drainage in the complex. So far it has not be fixed and I continue to walk through mud. I asked for the back door to have a keyed lock so I could use it in the meantime and they said it could be done. One work order in place. It got canceled by maintanance for an unexplained answer to me. Same thing with the second work order. The third work order they actually came and measured for a lock and have not been seen since. This has been on going for four months. Its always nice to go to work in wet muddy shoes. 2.) I had the maintance people clean out the dryer duct because something had to have died in it. It stunk bad and the dryer was not drying clothes. This is a newer set of washer and dryer that worked fine at my last place. They came and cleaned the duct out and tracked dirt through my place scratched up my dryer and left lent all over the floor. ( I had to clean up after them!!!) 3.) I have had to report the garbage disposal several times. Once in person while paying my rent. I was told by the office that I was not suppose to put food in the disposal. WHAT IS IT THERE FOR THEN? To cut up water!!!! 4.) My fiance planted some flowers in our private patio area. A few months later when they were just about to bloom. Someone from the landscaping company pulled them out of the ground. The office did not beleive her and said we would not do anything like that and to call and complain to the landscaping company that they are responsible for!! 5.) They are using the limited parking lot for landscaping materials and have been since I moved in. So if you look out our back windows it looks like a dump. You see dirt with weeds growing, stumps, rocks, old landscape timber, etc. 6.) They let a maintance guy leave his van in our area of the parking lot. It has not moved and has tags from several years ago on it. It is just roting in the best parking spot we have in our limited spaces. He doesn't even use it. He should park it by his apartment or by the office! They have been rude to my fiance everytime she talks to them and just try to passify me with answers I want to hear, but never follow through with. We can't wait till our lease is up so we can move!!!!

Bed Bugs Issue
Infested with lots and lots of Bed Bugs...Guys be prepared to sleep with them upon renting this apartment (CEDAR TRACE).... Managements simply says that the tenants need to do the Pest Control measures at their own cost...Its always infested with some pests or the other. Even some of my friends in the same apartment are facing the same issue. Poor piece of Management....

BED BUG Problem
We rented a 3 bedroom townhouse. Parking was a nightmare. Cars speed down McKelvey Hill Rd.,the main street which runs through the complex and is used as a cut through for half the Maryland Heights residents. I was afraid a kid would get hit by a car. Also we had bug problems. Fleas were a problem. Also I kept seeing a strange kind of bug I hadn't seen before. My kids were constantly getting bitten. I thought at first it was mosquitos. When we moved into a new home I began seeing the kind of bugs I had seen at Camden Trace and found out they were bed bugs. We had an infestation which took us six months to get rid of. We also had to get rid of several mattresses. We contacted the office as a courtesy to let them know they had a problem and they were very rude. They denied there was a problem at their complex. Also the air comditioner didn't work well. It was always hot, particularly on the 3rd level.

Decent place to live
Lived here for 3 months during the summer and enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and helpful with questions I had. Apartment was well maintained (never any issues when I was there) and appliances were decent, even though it felt to me that the kitchen and hallway had a tilt. The building had a.. unique smell that luckily leaves the apartment after a bit. No bug issues what so ever (lived on 3rd floor). My building was very close to Dorsett so there was traffic noise, but you tune it out. Neighbors were fine, except the one that stole my cable for a couple days. I'd definitely recommend Cedar Trace (new name as of July 2007) if you need a short term place to stay.

thank god my lease is up!
Where should I start? -They neglected to tell us water/trash/sewer was not included in the rent until after we moved in -Our neighbors upstairs took a bath and it flooded through the ceiling and warped our ceiling and bathroon walls and the shower rod would slip behind the bathtub fixture (this happened to every apartment on my floor while I lived here)This happened early evening and maintenace couldn't look at it until the next afternoon! Then they literally looked at it and said they'd be back to fix it after it dried. This was another day. Then they promised to come back and re-paint it and never did. -Our bathtub was disgusting when we moved in -Our toilet broke on a regular basis and I had to fix it myself because maintenance always took at least a day to get there -Our kitchen and bathroom sinks and bathtub drain were contstantly clogged even after they "fixed" them -Problem with roaches and I think the exterminator was there once in the year that I lived there -I let a bag of popcorn go too long in the microwave and it got a little smokey in the apartment (ooops) this is how I learned the smoke alarm batteries didn't work. So you might want to check those out -There was no fire extinguisher in the apartment or even a good place for one (isnt this illegal? it should be) Our sliding glass door didn't lock properly (safe huh) probably because it wouldn't close properly and bugs and air leaked in. (great on the cooling/heating costs) -Our air conditioner froze up and maintenance acted like it was our fault -The blinds were broken in the living room and both bedrooms and never fixed even though we reported that on move-in inspection -Not to be prejudice but my hallway contstantly smelled of curry and Indian food. So if this repulses you as much as it does me. Don't live here! I haven't seen a statistic but I know what I see with my own eyes....large Indian families. -I had a noise complaint on me when I had a couple girlfriends over one friday night because apparently we were laughing too loudly!? Sorry management never cared that the neighbor across the hall had a blaring tv at all hours of the day/night and the couple next to them had a baby that still to this day hasn't stopped wailing. Probably because of the smell of the curry. The parking lot has random parking blocks placed in incorrect spots including the middle of a spot one time because they aren't secured and people hit them and drag them all over the place. Not safe for cars or children. -Children are constantly riding their bikes or rollerskating into cars or playing football or baseball in the parking lot. I personally saw my car get hit by a baseball, football, and bicycle. Who knows what else when I wasn't watching The parking lot isn't well lit and I've never really felt safe outside my apartment after the sun goes down -Conveniently located behind Denny's so all you can smell (besides the indian curry) is Denny's! yuck I could think of a lot more but I think this proves my point....there are a lot of nicer apartments for the same rate or cheaper than Camden Trace!

AVOID THIS PLACE!!
Let's see...upstairs bath drained into kitchen below, water burst through our bedroom wall one night, neighbors just got out of jail, other neighbors have 5 loud children, dishwasher NEVER worked, items stolen off porch, LONG WALK to trash. Maintenance personnel are not very smart. Overall experience in 1 year - WORST PLACE I HAVE LIVED.

Smelly Place to Live
The place is overrun with Indian people and they cook the worst smelling food ever, enough to wake you out of your sleep! If Camden Trace repaid me for the money i spent on febreze it would cover half my rent. The size and the price is okay, but he winters sucked; because the windows are 30 years old and not insulated. My gas bill in the winter was $90 and i froze the whole time. In the summer it was over $100 and it was never cool enough. My advice is buyer beware!!

so so
I've lived here for a year, and it was alright. For the most part the neighbors were quiet and there really were no maintenance problems. I wish the rent were a little lower and the main drive was a two way street. Parking kind of sucks some times, especially after 6pm. I wish that parents would watch their kids while they play outside because they are all over parking lots and don't really move to let you park your car, had to HONK to get them to move. But I guess that really doesn't have to do with the complex itself. Very convenient to highways and grocery shopping. Other than some neighbors being odd, and the stinky hallways, I wouldn't mind living here again if they lowered the rent a little.

Pleasant Living Experience!
One of my favorite aspects of living here was how quiet it iss. Occasionally I heard footsteps overhead, but that was it! The walls are soundproof. The maintainance guys are very friendly and helpful, always show up quickly. I always found the office staff as accomadating as possible. Both pools are nice and seldom crowded. It was great to be so central to everything in St. Louis and all the major highways. I have recommended Camden Trace to others, and would live there again if my job moved me back to St. Louis.

Nice place to live
I love the location here, great schools and close to shopping. Like the area as having lived in St. Louis for four years, have decided that this is the choice area for my family. Camden Trace staff are professional and ensure safety and respect for each tenant. Parking is not the best but that is the only thing that could be improved.

Great Satff, that cares
I lived at Camden Trace for a year and the staff would help me carry things if I needed help. They always were chacking to see if I was ok and always have a wave or a smile. I would have continued to live there but I moved back home to continue my physical rehab from a car accident I was in. I would recommend Camden Trace.

bugs bugs bugs
Can I say more. There is a huge bug problem with this place. At least once a month, sometimes twice, I have to report bugs to maintenence and the have to come in and spray for them. If Camden Trace charged you for the bugs as if they were an extra roommate, they would be millionares.

Long term resident - hated to move out of Camden Trace
I lived at Camden Trace (formerly Spanish Trace) for 6 years. I found that the management and maintenance were very efficient, quick to respond and friendly. The only reason I left was because of mortgage interest rates being so low. I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a great place to live.

Nice Experience
My husband and I resided at Spanish Trace from April 2001 just after we were married until APril of 2002 when he was transferred out of state. We had nothing but an enjoyable experience. The maintenance and office staff went above and beyond in service and was helpful to us in relocating out of state. Our townhome was HUGE and our neighbors were outstanding! We recommend Spanish Trace to all of our St. Louis friends!

Happy in Maryland Heights
I just moved to St. Louis from Kansas City. Shopped several communities in Maryland Heights, Spanish Trace was 4th on my list and last! The leasing consultant, Kim was outstanding...I have now been a resident for over 2 years. I have also referred co-workers, who are now my neighbors. The maintenance staff is incredible. I once got locked out at 3 a.m. and someone showed up in 10 minutes to let me in. My apartment is huge. I walk the clubhouse treadmill whenever I want & meet my friends at the pool every summer. I love my home.

Complete waste of money
Don´t get sucked into living here with the spacious floor plans. There is NO parking that is convenient and the apt´s are run down and need serious repair. Leasing agents are friendly, but that is the extent. They do not follow through with anything. We are stuck in our lease, but don´t make the same mistake.

this place is terrible
the parking is a nightmare. there is absolutely no where to park. you pay enough in rent to at least have parking space. Not only that bugs, bugs and more bugs, if you don´t want to take a trip to the animal kingdom this isn´t the place for you. Do not live here it is a waste of money. They require you to have renters insurance, but thats a good thing with all the sewage problems you will encounter. The only thing the leasing agents are good for is making up excuses. Good ridance!
