Very Impressed

I moved into Hunters Chase within the last year and I am very surprised to see the mixed reviews. First, this place has trees. Lots of trees - lots of shade - to be right in the middle of a city, you really feel relaxed when you walk out onto your patio or deck. The units are a little older, but they have been maintained and the maintenance staff lives on-site and is quick to respond. The office staff is simply top-notch. They know your name and which unit you live in and I know of very few places where that can be said. The pool is well kept and clean and the workout facilities are on par with the price range. More than anything else, I really appreciate the well lit parking lots - I am up often at night and see the private security company riding through on a frequent basis. I feel safe - really and truly safe here and that is a major plus when it comes to apartment living. Overall, a really good value and enjoyable place to live.

Needs Serious Help!!!!

WOW- Where do I begin....I moved in over 2 years ago and everything was great. The management company was great we had monthly meetings, we had cookouts, pool parties. NOW WE HAVE NOTHING but a bunch of HOOD RATS moving into the community. People all times of the night making loud noise and have NO RESPECT for the people that have to get up in the mornings and go to work! WOW, now the staff...WHAT A JOKE! I mean really they say that it is the management company but when you call and try to get the managment company number you get the run around. I mean really Hunters Chase do you think that you will still be in the running with all the new properties that are going up in the city every year! You need to communicate more with the renters and step it up or you are going to have a lot of people that are going to be stepping out!

Let's Hope it's a Transition Phase

Yes, the management in the office has changed sharply in the recent months, and no, they are not the same type of people that were there before. I have for the most part enjoyed my time at Hunter's Chase. It is an attractive property, though some things are a dated. However, the office staff leaves a bit to be desired. Of the 3 office staff, 2 of them are very dismissive of the residents when we voice concerns. So much so the that when I voiced a concern about a change they made in the club house in April they never got back to me, and when I followed up they said I was mistaken. However, I placed a call to the Greensboro fire marshal on 9/22/2009, he confirmed my concern and wrote the complex a citation. The maintenance staff is excellent and one woman in the office is very great with the residents. Unfortunately one of the dismissive ones is the apartment manager and the other is the younger girl who is more concerned with the computer than to pay you any attention. Longer term residents can tell the difference in the feel of the community and the occupancy has decreased considerably. Let's hope the manager learns some tact when addressing residents and presenting new policies, that would make things better.

A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

I love it here! I moved in about a month ago... I met the girl of my dreams. Those girls in the office are so nice to me. Always professional. They are in the office seven days a week. And the grounds are always clean. I don't know what else anybody wants.

Not so much

Overall the apartments are okay, but the place has seen better days. I was here when Cindy and Nora were working here and they made the place that it USED to be. Quinton, the maintenance spervisor, IS amazing and I have never had any issues with maintenance. I do have a problem with the current staff. They do not seem to have a clus about how to treat people-especially us that pay rent. They are "wishy-washy", make decisions that they do not stand behind, and host parties in the clubhouse that range from pyramid schemes to Mary Kay sales. Wait...are you not making enough $$$ from the rent we pay every month that you have to peddle your wares and make more...Is it considered a conflict of interest??? What happened to having events for the residents, not for your own personal gain?!? Whatever. I wish Cindy and Nora were here. They really cared, were quick to respond when we had a proble with a neighbor, and followed up to make sure things were better. The new residents that I have seen make me wonder what standards have been worked around to get them to move in. This is my home and I used to be so proud, sent friends and co-workers here but now I am ashamed and wonder what they will think. I am moving at the end of my lease-got 2.5 months left and I am going to move where I know I will be taken care of. I spoke with Cindy today and she is still as friendly and vibrant as ever. No matter how much I complained about the situation, she was a true professional and just listened. I also heard great news about Nora. I am moving where Cindy is working now--I do not even need to see the place but I am going to visit anyway. For nothing else but to see Cindy. Yes, Hunters Chase was special but it has lost that certain element that made it home for me. An apartment is an apartment is an apartment, I know. But Hunters Chase just isn't what it used to be. YES, STAY AWAY!

Although the surroundings look nice, I have to agree with everything the other person said below. Management is constantly changing, there have been many car break ins, the place is getting very noisy, and the place tends to have many -------like people moving into the community hanging around, playing music loud in their cars and in their apartments. I too cannot wait to from out of here.

WARNING -- STAY AWAY!

Been here for almost a year and can't wait for the lease to be OVER. Hunter's Chase has more and more "hood-like" tenants moving into the community - from their pants hanging off their behinds to loud music in cars outside your window to their apartments. The new residents they are moving in here seem to be more of a younger crowd now. You know, with more young people around, you tend to live in a less quieter place. Young guys tend to hang around the car wash port playing music loud. Someone had to literally post a sign there stating for them NOT to play loud music while washing cars. Management allows bird feeding on premises. Yeah, that's right, RIGHT outside of tenants windows so everyday, your peace is disturb by very LOUD and ongoing birds noises. The apartment community also allows tenants to have as many dogs as they like living in apartments! There are tenants living here with up to 3 dogs in ONE apartment. If you don't like barking noises...this is definitely NOT the place to live. I must also add, if you don't like stepping into poop, then keep looking. There have been NUMEROUS car break ins here. Contact Greensboro police department for records to verify! When I moved here, management told me they have all been working here for a long time...like years. Funny, because since then...they all no longer work here and I've seen at least six new people come in and out of the office. No wonder why the "quality" of tenants have dropped so dramatically. The new people do not know what they are doing! They are literally just letting any type of person to move in. The appliances - like stoves, etc...are very outdated and VERY old. Don't bother asking for anything new because they won't replace it....even if it's broken. They will do some half azz job to fix it. All to find out later, it isn't really fixed. There are gnat/bug problems here! My opinion: I would never encourage anyone to live here. If you could afford it, rent a HOUSE!!

im a very picky person

i notice everything from dirt, uncleanliness, loud annoying people, to old nasty looking appliances. THIS WAS THE BEST PLACE THAT I HAVE LIVED..AS FAR AS APARTMENTS. Mainly working people live here. they are quiet, go to work and come home.. I never saw people hanging out , being loud or blasting any music. As the apartment and grounds are very clean,,,hardly any roaches or anything. Maintence is good and they will come up and fix the problem. i really have no complaints about this place and believe me i can be very picky

Management needs training

When I visited the apartments, management was awesome. They were so nice, courteous, and extremely helpful. Then after I moved in....management became buttholes. I understand the community is supposed to be pet friendly but I don't want to have to keep looking down to ensure I'm not stepping in dog poop and then some owners didn't even bother putting their dogs on leashes. Yes I informed management of the problem and they supposedly spoke with the ACCUSED but guess what, a week later the ACCUSED did it again and management SPOKE with them again. OK, maybe I'm missing something but if talking to the tenant is not doing anything - shouldn't you take the next course of action?? Isn't there a property management class that teaches you about that?? After enough complaints, management began to get mad at me like it was my fault I didn't want to continue getting chased by someone else's dogs.

A word about the staff

If you are a single guy or just like to look I highly recommend this complex. The girls in the office are hot. I won't get into too much detail but... this is a dog friendly complex. If you don't have your own dog, borrow one. Then go into the office and make sure to get these girls to goo and gah over your pup. Check the dark haired one from the top front, and the blonde from behind. Worth my rent every month. Honestly, I have been delighted with my dealings with this community. Everyone is friendly, they are extremely dog friendly, the pool is great and the staff even sometimes arrange get-togethers at the pool.

AMAZING APARTMENTS

Seeing any negative reviews for this complex is disappointing. I lived at Hunters Chase for a couple months shy of 4 years and I loved every minute of it. I moved here because I was going to school at UNCG and I wanted to be away from the college area which can at times be not safe. I found this place and my first roommate and I fell in love with the charm of the complex. We got a ridiculously cheap rate because they had just changed owners and Stephanie, an old manager, was awesome in making sure we were all set up. This was the firt apartment either of us had lived in so they took extra care to make sure we understood the whole process. I went through a few roommates because they either graduated or moved in with boyfriends. But the office was always incredible in putting the paperwork through for the changes on the lease. Stephanie left to manage another complex and Cindy took over. Let me tell you what that woman works hard to keep that complx working smoothly. As for maintenance, they are incredible, you report something and 15 minutes later they are at your door fixing it. They are either very selective on who they allow to move in or they just get really good renters coming in because I never really had a problem with anyone. While I was living there they did have periodic car breakins and someone tried to burn down there apartment being stupid while frying food in grease but whatever happened the next day you could count on a notice being up telling you what was going on around the property. If you did report a problem with another unit then the next day, or sometimes even the same day, they had someone at that persons door or notices up on your building. We did have a small spider problem becase one had laid some eggs in my roommates window. We reported it to the office and a half hour later (if that) a maintenance guy was at our apartment spraying and knocking down the nest THEN the next day they had Terminex at our door. Incredibly fast to respond to issues. I had a couple roommates that had dogs and I know as a fact that the office ladies adore the dogs in the community. They always kept treats in the office to give to the dogs. As long as the ladies in the office weren't with a client they would stop what they were doing and talk to you. All around just an incredible place to live. I looked at Camden Wendover and it is a dump compared to Hunters Chase. Big apartments, amazing staff, well kept grounds, awesome pool, and incredible location while still being quiet. I wish I hadn't had to move because now I'm living in Florida and I can't find any place with a decent price that is as incredible as this place. This place has spoiled me because now I compare every place that I look at to Hunters Chase and I've yet to find a decent comparison. Keep up the good work Hunters Chase staff!!!

Great place to live!!!

My husband and I lived here short-term for three months after moving to Greensboro, and we loved it! If we hadn't bought a house, we definitely would have extended our lease. There are a lot of great things about this apartment community...I'll list the highlights below, but in my view, the best things about living there were the privacy you have with the woods all around and the really friendly staff that works there. STAFF: The staff there is AWESOME - the leasing office is very friendly, helpful and professional. We were so impressed with how nice they treated us and other tenants we've spoken with, and how personable they all were - they seem to remember everyone's names and always make a point of saying hello when they see you. AMENITIES/APARTMENT: We thought the amenities in the community were great, esp. the pool area (they keep it very clean), the use of their business office (computer, printer, scanner, fax), the DVD library (free rentals of fairly newly released movies), the tennis court, and the trails leading into the woods. The complex also has a guest apartment that you can rent nightly if you have visitors coming. We also liked that our apartment had a fireplace and overlooked the woods - the buildings are set up so you have a lot of privacy and don't have to see your neighbors from your balcony/porch. The only suggestion I would have is that they may want to update the kitchens some (at least ours seemed a little older although not terrible). SAFETY/NOISE: I always felt very safe living there, the neighbors all seemed nice, and it was always pretty quiet. Every once in a while we would hear a loud radio in a car or something, but that was it. PETS: It's a really dog-friendly community...you can take your dog into the leasing office and they'll give him/her attention and treats. There are a lot of nice dogs who live there and if you take your dog down one of the trails after work, you'll probably meet at least one other dog and its owner down there, so they can play together in the field and burn off some energy. The office also keeps a photo album of the pets who live there in case one gets loose or lost. LOCATION: The location is also convenient, because you're very close to shopping, restaurants, and I-40, but you also have a lot of privacy because of the woods surrounding the complex. Overall, it's a great place to live, and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quiet and friendly apartment community.

Wonderful

I have been living at Hunters Chase for about a year now and my husband and I love it. We found the staff to be very nice and helpful. Maintnence is very prompt if you have a concern and they do check back with you to make sure everything is taken care of. I have lived at more expensive apartments and they can not compare to Hunters chase. The apartments are layed out in such a way that you can utilize all of the space very efficiently. It is very pet friendly and the ammenities seem well cared for. If your looking for a place I would definitly reccomend giving Hunters Chase a chance.

Best place I've had

My unit is structurally gorgeous, the management is phenomenal, the pool and tennis courts are well-maintained, and the whole place is very pet-friendly. My only complaint is my neighbors. In the 2.5 years that I have been here, I've had no problems until these last few months. I suspect that those that are complaining about Hunters Chase are the ones being complained ABOUT to the office by myself and other quiet residents who prefer quiet late at night, as opposed to loud fights, booming bass, and step-shows in the tennis courts. These, fortunately, are not regular occurances (except the loud music, which is becoming more and more regular from my lovely new neighbors). Complaints and/or concerns are taken very, very seriously by the office staff, and they always follow up with you to make sure your experiences are great. <br><br>I'm not near as happy about living here as I used to be, but I still would recommend this place to anyone. However, if you like excessively loud music and hang out with people who fight and scream racial slurs at each other in the parking lot, please consider someplace else. You'll only be unwelcome here.

Outstanding Community

Take a look at what similiar apts in Greensboro and you will have the first advantage of Hunter's Chase. The community is beautuful, apartments are spacious, the office AND maintainence team offers exceptional service, they let you walk even large dogs into the office for a treat, there is 24/7 security on-call, and the community is ideally located. I cannot understand the negative comments about this property and my fiancee and I have been here since June. <br><br>There is NO COMPARISON between this property and Camden Wendover. Camden's office staff is pushy, they want outrageous deposits, the apartments are MUCH smaller, and I would not feel safe living there as someone very recently stated "they allow too much riff-raff to live over there." If you are looking for a quiet community that offers every ammenity you could ask for at an unbelievable price, Hunter's Chase is for you. <br><br>And for the record I AM NOT a member of the staff nor did anyone ask me to write this. I simply cannot stand to see someting get trashed for no reason at all. And in agreeance with another poster, I could care less about the skin color of the community staff. Their service and attention is what matters to me and their service and attention have been outstanding. I would recommend this community to anyone.

Living here is bliss

I just wanted to say that I have lived here for nearly 1 year now and I cannot complain! I read these reviews now and then (I used this site when I was looking too) and I am happy with this complex. I don't think this site will help you find a apartment, but provide insight on what you may find when you go out to look. I do disagree with the last post. I assume that the color of skin makes a difference to some but not me. Caramel, chocalate, pasty vanilla-As long as I FEEL I am getting my $$$ worth that's what metters. <br>The staff is not fake, they do a lot for the tenants and they do care but it's a business. My lease is up in December and I am staying for a year longer. It's close to everything I need. And if you want to know WHY I think they care...<br>1. They accept packages and we can pick them up from the office.<br>2. They have parties, they even delivered candy to all of the tenants on Halloween.<br>3. They have a beautiful club room with a computer and copier, fax, etc...<br>4. They have a Notary and it's free<br>5. They say Hi! even if they are busy <br>6. Some of the staff live here too <br>7. They call about maintenance requests to make sure it was done right the 1st time.<br>8. They take the time to listen to you and don't blow you off.<br>9. I have dogs and they have dog treats in the office.<br>10. They say Thank you! Literally<br>These may not seem important to you, like I said earlier-this is not the way to find your next place but this is my experience and your money is well spent here. Happy hunting!!!

Think twice, maybe even 3 times.

I have been going through these reviews to see what some of the former or present residents have said about the property and most of it seems to be a lie. I think I will tell you the truth now. I've come to notice that this property doesn't care about their residents and is only in the business to make a dollar. It's one thing to go into business, but in order to keep your business going you do need to have soem type of respect for the people who rent from you. Granted it is a nice property but if you want to deal with staff who have no kind of respect whatsoever for their residents then this is the place you need to be. I lived here for 6 months because I was skeptical about signing a year lease. I never really trusted those pale-skinned people anyway. Those rude people over in the leasing office are hungry for your money. to keep others from making the same mistake i did, please don't rent from this property i'm sure there are other places out there that you will be satisfied with more.

great place to live. very hard to leave.

i have lived here for 2 years now this month. i have always loved it here. i have no idea what people are talking about when they say the staff is rude. they have never been anything but nice and friendly to me. i have NEVER had a problem with them. the landscaping and environment of the complex is nice. you won't understand this until you live there and then try to find an aprtment somwehere else. the parking is great and never a problem. the pool is great and well kept. the only problem is that some people don't pick up after their dogs, but that is gonna be anywhere you go. i am a dog owner and i pick up after my dog but somepeople are just lazy and don't. and honestly that is my only complaint about the place. i have really enjoyed my time at hunters chase. i have to now move b/c my boyfriends brother is going to be moving down here and we need a 3 bedroom. it has been a really hard decision to make though. we really do not want to leave b/c we are comfortable here. <br>i would definitely recommend hunters chase.

Loving it!

Oh My God!!! I am so glad I live here! It is so nice and some of these reviews DO NOT even come close. I did read them and I was a little concerned but everyone is so nice, in the office and the maintenance guys. My neighbors, too! I hope all of you meet Robert! He is so good and so about the tenants. He made it a point to let me know that he lived here 1st then started working here because he liked it so much and because of Cindy. She works there too. Both of them have made me and my girlfriend feel so "at home"! and we have only been here about 2 months. There have been some car break ins but they are on top of it and take time to let me know what is happening. There is a night coming up where the police are coming to speak and I know they (Robert, Cindy and everyone who works there) are the reason. I am glad they tell us the good and the bad. At least we can be prepared. You should really consider this place. Great rent for what you get, everyone is friendly, beautiful complex for walking your dog or just around the neighborhood. The pool is always hopping and there is free pizza too! Check this place out! You will fall in love-like I did!

if you are looking for an apartment...I Love It Here!

I have read through these "posts" and I have to tell anyone who is actually using this site to find an apt. (instead of a SOUNDING BOARD) to go visit & see what the staff is like, the property is like, the apts. are like, etc... It's very unfortunate that some people have bad PERSONAL experiences. But to chop it all up as a "bad" place to live, I have to disagree. It's beautiful out here! Lots of trees, kind-of got an out of the way feel to it but so convenient to UNCG, I-40. They have this guest apt that I have rented out for my family and it is cheap! I have a dog and they are these "poop stations" (i think that's right) with bags and trash cans to pick up what your dog leaves behind. I don't know if anyone really cares about that but it's the little things that seem to make an impression for me. So, anyway...I'm not going to defend this place, the staff, the management, or whatever but I will say it's the best I have come across so far. And to the very angry person who lived here from 2006-2006 , I hope you have found what you're looking for and I don't think it is really fair of you to continue to use this site for what it was not intended for. I think everyone knows you hated it by now.

The Real Truth

I am sorry to inform you of your complete and total ignorance but i did live at the apartments. It is true that you get what you pay for. If you want to be treated like nothing then you need to stay with Hunters Chase. When I lived there, the only problem I had was with management (which is what i said in the first place). They are arrogant and snooty. Little do they know that because of their attitudes they turn lots of people away. Initially I had recommended the apartment to a friend of mine but after my experience with management I informed the person to STAY AWAY ! So maybe you are the one who needs to CHECK YOUR DATES ! And at the end of the day, staff is still horrible, no matter how you slice it. From the sounds of it, you may even be the manager. Giving this complex a 5.0 rating is a lie in itself. Do not mislead potential residents who need to know the truth.

And you get what you pay for! I lived at Camden Wendover for almost 2 years and moved to Huntes Chase about a year and a half ago and it's a different world at Hunters Chase. Nevermind the fact(s)...<br>1. The management won't screw you when your lease ends. I was in a 2 bedroom next door and when my lease ended they raised my rent about $70!!! and that was with a 12 month one. They said they did not control the renewal rent, the computer did it. What?!? Apparently I was not important enough. And my apartment over at Hunters Chase is bigger. The landscaping is a lot nicer and it's not a dark hole. <br>2. The staff is fantastic!!! They do and have everything for the people who live here. FACT! They have a better fitness center, an INDOOR whirlpool ( that works unlike next door) and the pool is already open. I can rent a movie from the office and it's free and I ALWAYS feel welcome when I talk with the staff! The maintenance guys are always around and everyone who lives here are so friendly. Obviously you don't live here and probably never did and I wonder why that is. (check your dates) I think it's best that you live or want to live at Camden Wendover. You'll fit right in and we don't need any sour grapes spoiling the sweet life here! Deal with it!
