If this community would stop using predatory price-fixing programs such as Real Page I'd be much happier with this complex. As it stands I don't believe they see people as humans, they see us as resources to exploit. The Maintenance department needs an overhaul. Maintenance will lie to your face if they don't want to fix something and it often times takes them weeks to resolve simple issues. It wouldn't be as bad if the work was good but that is not the case.

I've only lived at the Berkshire Village District for a few months, but so far it's been really nice. I love living so close to shops, restaurants, the grocery store, a pharmacy, coffee shops, really everything that you need is pretty much within walking distance. The apartments are spacious and nice. No gray flooring and granite countertops which is such a bonus. This is a great place for young professionals because the complex hosts tons of fun events that are a great way to meet people. The amenities, the pool and gym, are really nice and we have definitely taken advantage of them so far. I would definitely recommend this complex to someone looking for a relatively affordable apartment right in the heart of Raleigh.

Of the three places I've lived in the past 5 years this ranks number three. On paper it should rank number 1. However, the apartment constantly has issues that, though the staff tries their best to fix, persist. There is always something wrong with an elevator, the pool always needs to be cleaned, the trash eras stink and there's always some sort of debris in the hallways. The doors stay open during office hours but there is not always someone at the front office and even then you can enter the building without ever being seen by the front office-a big security issue as people have entered the building and hung out there. Once a man followed me into the lobby, sat and atayed in the lobby watching me as I went to the mail room. Anyone can enter the lobby and then get to the residents' apartments insanely easily. I felt safer living in London when a hard drug dealer lived three floors above me and was dealing outside of their apartment.

My experience has been awful. I have had interactions with homeless people in the building because various secured access doors do not lock. One girl was attacked in the lobby at night. The elevators constantly break. My neighbors got trapped in one about 8 months ago. There is a sewage for in my hallway and outside the building when it rains. The turn the AC off in the public areas in the summer, I'm guessing to save money as they cannot retain residents. The fire alarms go off at least once a month and sometimes it takes hours for them to be turned off. I work from home and have had many online meetings interrupted because of the alarms. It's getting to the point where it's impacting my job. The hallways and public areas are scuffed and dirty, everything looks worn down. They are now having "hotel" guests stay in furnished short term rentals because they cannot retain residents. A lot of transient people staying here now. I'm not renewing my lease.

It has not been the most pleasant experience. Elevators are constantly down. The pool is constantly being opened and closed. The entire parking garage has never been cleaned resulting in nasty oils being a hazard when it rains (I literally slip on wet oil on garage level 2 almost every time it rains). The trash room is disgusting. My apartment constantly has breaker/electrical issues yet no one seems to know how to fix it. My AC unit went out and they plugged in a temporary window unit but that causes the breaker to trip but they didn't care and left it not in use causing my apartment to be unlivable for days. The electric vehicle charging used to be free but now you started charging .25 cents a kW and it's actually cheaper for me to go down the street and charge now just an FYI everyone just goes down the street.

So far the experience at Berkshire Village District has been great. The move in process was extremely easy. We have been pleased with the quality of our unit and the building overall. From our experience, our neighbors are respectful of common spaces. So far, the only negative would be that our unit is pool side and it can get loud during the summer.

Overall satisfaction, with the exceptions of the reliability of elevators, the absence of employees on the weekend, and the frequent closing of the pool for maitenance. The location is the biggest plus for the Berkshire at the Village Didtrict.

Quite frankly, I'm continually frustrated with this complex. They raise rent every year and yet the amenities and events stay the same. The continual increase in rent is frustrating when the experience stays the same or often is downgraded. Things are constantly broken and not fixed

Lauren Keyes our events coordinator brings this complex to life!
The events at our apartment complex are so much fun. Lauren always finds ways to bring people together and connect. We've met some great friends because of her and can't imagine our experience at Berkshire without her. She brings this place to life and always has the most positive outlook. We are so lucky to have her here!

My main concern involves traffic, -Speed that people drive along the back drive. Maybe speed bumps -Starbuck customers blocking roadway while waiting for coffee -Intersection at Starbucks and Harris Teeter exits with Cameron Street and the Oberlin Road stoplight. Has to be one of the most dangerous intersections in Raleigh. -during busy times, impossible to make a turn safely -Intersection with Clark Avenue. Not as dangerous. Often very difficult to see pedestrians walking from Oberlin Road when making a right turn. Maybe some bushes could be cut back. Turning left can be scary due to curve and speed of drivers. Drivers do not see the exit until on top of the exit especially if speeding. Maybe city could be asked to put a curve sign or exit warning sign with flashing lights to warn drivers of curve and exit

We cannot wait to leave. There have been so many issues that I cannot even list them all here. However, to name a few, we have had constant fire alarms going off, flooding in our living room, the pool is never filled, things are constantly breaking within the main building...etc. the list can go on and on. For the price we pay this is simply not worth it. Not to mention the Bristina has been nothing but rude to us throughout all these issues.

Overall, great experience, good services, well maintained common areas, nice neighbors, and staff is always available to help and respond to emails quickly. Apartment itself seemingly well maintained and prepared for move in.

Crack houses are run better than this place
Moving here is a mistake! So many issues I do not want to waste my time writing an essay of all the problems that come with being a tenant of this place. If you ignore this review you will soon understand the pain and suffering that comes with living here!

Ridiculous
Before moving here, be very sure that you are comfortable with fire alarms going off at all times, for extended periods (particularly when nothing is on fire). As other reviewers have noted, the elevators are often not available, and the trash/smell situation can get pretty bad. You will likely find many other apartments which are better in every way, at a lower cost, than this one.

Overall a good place. Great location. Lately our mailroom has been a mess and a disaster. We have too few people taking care of entrance and offices. Having no one here on Saturdays is a bad idea. The maintenance crew is excellent.

It has been super nice so far very easy move in. The only thing I wish was a little better was the elevators and how big they were. Otherwise, the people on the staff are super nice and very helpful. I love all the amenities in the place.

Nice place to live
I like the complex and location. Ashley has been really helpful. It’s a convenient area to live in. I can bike to most places, which is exactly what I was looking for. Worth looking into if you are searching for an apartment.

The community went downhill in the last 3 years. The management stings on cleaning and it shows. They made catastrophic errors in pool maintenance so the pool is closed all the time. It is a complete disgrace.

The work order for my windows continues to be unresolved despite being told that the work order has been completed. The windows don’t function. The food disposal is leaking again, even though it was repaired weeks ago. The dishwasher is old and very noisy…. The neighborhood is great, but it’s noisy and

I like It fine. Really if It wasn’t for the location I don’t think there would be any benefit. There seems to always be an issue and the main issue is the cost of living. I am paying 1800 monthly for a 1 bedroom which is fine but It needs to be near perfect

If you want to live in a cool and comfortable apartment, look elsewhere as once your AC goes, it will take almost 6 months to resolve with no sense or urgency or support from maintenance or leasing management. Leasing management takes no responsibility for maintenance issues and places blame on maintenance team and processes.
