Good value for the money, safe neighborhood
I've lived here for six years and would renew my lease again if I weren't leaving the area. The neighborhood is very safe and friendly. It's a garden apartment complex, so there are trees and shrubs and plenty of grass. We're also about a 15-minute walk from Newton Lake Park, which is a nice place to stroll when the weather is good. We're within a 5 minute walk of a Thriftway supermarket and 12 minutes on foot from a large (if overpriced) Superfresh. If you have a car, there's also easy access to two Acmes and a Wegman's. Noise levels depend on who your neighbors are. I haven't had problems but I know people who have. Bugs: yeah, you sometimes see water bugs, but you phone the office and they send the exterminators quickly and that solves it. I've also seen the occasional spider or cricket, but I just catch those and let them go outside. Maintenance is prompt and reliable. The grounds are kept very clean as are the hallways and stairwells. It's not luxury, but it's great value for the price, especially given the neighborhood. Some of my neighbors like the management and some find them nasty and unaccommodating. Admittedly, many of the latter are neighbors who don't pay their rent promptly, so that may have something to do with it. I've never had problems with them.

Truthful review after nearly a year
We decided on Haddon Hills for it's fairly attractive pricing, amazing location since one of us commutes to Center City, and nice looking grounds. After nearly a year leasing, however, we are leaving. The walls are very thin and the floors are not much better. We hear the family downstairs at all hours of the day, we hear the townhome adjacent to us, and even the apartments across the halls on occasion. The apartments themselves are what you would expect from a complex built in the mid 1950's. The hardwood floors are nice, although throughout then entire home (minus the kitchen and bathroom) is a tad overkill. Sound travels over those hard surfaces readily and it's impossible to keep the floor clean when moving furniture. Unfortunately, we have come to realize that if a complex offers extermination services for free, expect to use them. Frequently. We even had to completely empty the kitchen of food and dishes so that a mass building extermination could be done. We complied, the people under us, did not. Over the past year, we have killed at least two dozen cockroaches of varying levels of vim and vigor. Some were nearly dead from the exterminators, while others wanted to fight you. The grounds are fairly well kept, and any issues we called the front office about were handled promptly. The maintenance workers were all very pleasant and helpful. At the time of our move-in, the apartment wasn't complete, and we had to bug them to get fixture handles for our shower, and had to pull off all the blue tape from when the bathroom tiling was refinished. They had to come and install a garbage disposal and install mini-blinds to replace the sagging pull shades. I would not recommend using the laundry facilities. They are dingy and not well lit. Ours are located near the boiler room in a nearby building. We used her mother's house to do our laundry, or a laundromat. The apartment is small, even for a two bedroom. The master bedroom is decently sized however, and more than adequately fits a king-sized bed with dresser and bookcases. The kitchen is woefully small (even in the town homes) with little room to do much of anything. After a one year lease, we're ready to move on. They have been alright by us, but the bug issues, the water problems (showers fluctuate hot and cold depending on usage from other units), the size constraints and the high price for it's size, is leading us away.

Don't bother calling
I called Haddon Hills inquiring about any vacancies, since I see them advertised quite frequently I figured I'd have a shot. The receptionist was nice enough when taking my message, and she regretted not being allowed to answer ANY of my questions because management was in a meeting. however 6 days later I never heard back. I guess I have to believe what everyone on here is saying is true. If I can't even get a sales call returned, management must be too busy or else careless to return maintenance calls

Maybe not ALL of it's bad, but...
So in response to the review below me...I am not in competition with this complex, and believe me, this is where I lived. Also the address listed here is wrong, the actual address is 210 W Crystal Lake Ave Haddonfield NJ (but it's not actually Haddonfield, just has that address; it's Haddon Twp). Anyway I lived here with my husband for about six and a half months. And since the day we moved in, it was nothing but trouble. Yes, I have to say the location is great, and the rent, for the area, is also great...but you get what you pay for. Of course there were normal apartment issues. Noise traveled easily, as the walls were pretty thin. The water in the shower would fluctuate hot and cold randomly, which could be annoying. Our downstairs neighbor seemed to imbibe in marijuana smoking fairly regularly, and we could smell it. But those are just apartment things. I could have gotten past that. We called maintenance about all the problems we had, and sometimes they came. A lot of times, we waited around all day and no one ever showed up. And when we'd call on the phone, the people in the office were pretty rude. They acted like we were bugging them with our issues. Which isn't a nice feeling. Our hallways never got cleaned. I mean NEVER. The floors were filthy and there was huge spiderwebs on the railings and windowsills. But that's not really THAT bad, I guess. Our walls leaked really badly. Every time it rained our dining room got FLOODED. We would use eight or nine towels trying to stop the rain. We called maintenance three times about it...they never even came to look at it, even though they said they would all three times. Our windows weren't anchored properly, and the top of the window didn't meet the frame, and bees and yellow jackets got inside. Also the top of the window itself would occasionally swing down. That was annoying. Our sinks drained really slowly, as well (read that in a review on here), but we just kept a plunger nearby and used it every day. That wasn't THAT big a deal. Our back security door got stuck if you closed it all the way. Everyone in the unit just left it propped open because once it was closed, you had to kick it and throw all of your body weight against it to get it open again. Told maintenance about it...they told us to just leave it open and not worry about it. Roaches? Yes, indeed. BIG roaches. Noticed them not three days after we'd moved in. The lease says that we are offered extermination services for free. And for the first five months, we were - and we had the exterminator in once a month. It sort of helped, at least it kept them away for a few weeks. Then one day we came home to find a notice to the residents of our building that it was the fault of the tenants that we had such a bad roach problem, because we left the back security door open, and the management would no longer pay for us to have extermination services, even though the lease stated otherwise. Obviously that was our final straw. Sure, the location is good, the area is great, and the rent is ok. But seriously, just not worth it. There's a couple of complex's with comparable rent within a mile or two of Haddon Hills, and they're FAR better for the money. If you're going to rent, don't do it here.

Real Review/Breakdown
I've only lived here a few months, and I can tell you there are some fake posters on here (probably competition). Here is the truth, or atleast what I've seen in the first few months... PROS Neighborhood - 10 of 10. Unbelievable neighborhood for the price. Multi-million dollar homes a few blocks away, haven't seen anything resembling crime. Cleanliness - 9 of 10. Not sure why I am going as low as 9. Maintenance staff walks around picking trash constantly. The rooms are squeaky clean. Hardwood. NO ROACHES..atleast that I've seen. Either people are making that up, or they are confusing the grasshoppers that sneak in the door as roaches. But they jump, and make cricket noises. Location - 10 of 10 Right at the Westmont station to philly. Any store/restaurant you can think of is within a 5 mile radius, 2-3 miles to Cherry Hill Mall. Maintenance - 9 of 10. We've only called twice, but they were there to check on suspected bleach in the tub (our cleaner), and a noise question (see below). Extremely professional and timely, I think his name was Marty? great guy Management - 9 of 10. I don't get the complaints. Jan in particular has been through the roof helpful, and William comes off a little funny from time to time, but hasn't steered me wrong, gave great tips, and helped a ton to get the initial process started. CONS Noise - 4 of 10. The noise complaints are true, though I think overstated. If you get a loud neighbor (which I havent seen, one poster on here even complained that the residents were "too old and boring"), it could be an issue. The doors, floors, walls are all old wood. They bang. My solution ended up being running a fan through the night to block the noise..problem solved. But it is a valid complaint, but one that I think is over dramatized on here. Insects - Not roaches- spiders/Crickets seem to get in, just have to catch them and shut the door. Storage is tight, but most apts are. Hot water fluctuates in the shower, but you can tell its coming as the pressure dips, then hot for 2 sec, cold for 2 secs. Just step back and lather.. Washer/Dryer isnt the best. In the basement (which is clean) but small units, expensive, and atleast one that I use doesnt dry well..had my quarters eaten once.. In the end, the plusses far outweight the minuses. When I looked to moving to this area, I assumed luxurious haddonfield would be through the roof. Shop around, there are others in the are (they dont market very well), but do not rule this place out. I plan on staying here for the next 3 years. Any questions/comments I will try to check this every few months. From my experience..unbelievable deal

Probably shouldn't move here...
So the location is fantastic. Right outside of Haddonfield, walking distance to grocery stores, drug stores, liquor stores, speedline, bars. Really, you can't beat the location. And the rent, for the area, is really reasonable. Living here isn't the best, though. Maintenance is slow to respond and sometimes doesn't show up at all (we've been waiting three months and have called six times about getting our doorbell fixed). The units themselves are older, and it's obvious. There are gaps in the window frames and the baseboards, and a lot of cracks in the paint. The second floor units get unbearably hot in the summer, even with the AC running full-blast. And the units are very tiny. A one bedroom is likely not big enough for two people to live, particularly the kitchen, where you are graced with no more than two cabinets. The kitchen sink gets clogged all the time, just from washing dishes. The toilets don't flush properly. The windows swing in to allow easy cleaning, but they often don't stay anchored, which results in a painful bump on the head if you happen to be sitting in front of them when one decides to swing down. Before we moved in, we had heard there were roaches here. And there are indeed. And they are big roaches. Extermination is provided free of charge, but it doesn't seem to do much except make the gross things run into a different apartment (our downstairs neighbors get exterminated; we get roaches. We get exterminated; our neighbor across the hall gets roaches). All in all, not the best living experience ever. We're considering giving our sixty days notice and leaving before our lease is up. It's a fantastic area and location, but that's really all that's fantastic about it.

Ignore the haters!
I have been living in this apartment complex for over a year now. I have never had a problem with management or maintenence. I have had to call maintenence for a few things in my year here such as window locks that didn't work and a clogged sink, and they have always been prompt and did the job correctly. The office staff has never been nasty to me, only courteous and receptive. My first question to all the haters: WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FOR 700-1000 A MONTH? Where else can you get an apartment in HADDONFIELD for such a low rate??? The wood floors are old, but the beautiful ambered look is part of the charm of the apartments. There are probably a dozen coats of white gloss paint on the walls, but who cares? It's a place to live in a prominent town for $750 a month. I live in a first floor unit and has the pleasure of not having an upstairs neighbor for the majority of my stay here. Now that there is a couple living above me, I can hear them walk around, but you can't expect it to be completely silent for an older complex. The rules for being approved for an apartment may be a bit strict, but it keeps less than favorable people out and away. Sound callous? It's not. Everyone makes choices in life as to where it will lead them, and if you can't afford to live here, tough. It's that way with any complex, so don't get mad at the complex that you messed up your own credit or can't find a better job. I just can't understand how such small complaints can bother people so greatly. The complex is run well. There is a man that walks around my parking lot a few days a week checking to make sure all cars have Haddon Hills stickers, and picking up trash. The hallways are cleaned on occasion. Maintenance is quick. Emergency maintenance took 15 mins to let my neighbor in to her apartment when she locked herself out. Not bad I would say! It's my belief that if you cause trouble, don't pay your rent on time, or don't take care of your apartment, you receive less than courteous service. I have never had a problem and hope that folks will give this place a chance.

all around awful
Lets start with the management, every person i spoke with in the facility was difficult to speak with and obnoxiously rude. they had poor people skills and a very awkward feel about them. They also aren't very professional and offer little assistance on many of the questions I presented. They also try to charge people for newly renovated apartments that are obviously not. The next thing is their "criteria" for move-in, they have ridiculously high standards for even their less expensive units, restricting many good clients from being capable of moving in. When it comes to construction the buildings are very old and the walls in the complexes are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors (even if they are quiet and respectful) from multiple units away. This place is a scam and the owner obviously has no concern for his clients and potential clients. I had an all around terrible experience in dealing with these people and left feeling more then disrespected.

awful experience!
I lived there for a year. Before I left, my husband and I are looking for a house. We signed a contract for a short sale house and expected to get it at the end of August. At that time, my lease expired at the end of June. I went to the office in May and asked for extending my lease for another 4 months. I wrote the notice and gave it to Jane. Jane asked Bill for agreement. They both agree that I could live there until the end of October. Nobody said that you broke the lease and you could not do that. But due to the financial problems of the seller, we did not finally have this short sale house. I told Jane that I am going to move out as scheduled at the notice. She said ok. After I moved out, Bill and Jane said that you broke the lease and did not return the deposit $725 to me. I am not a rich person. This is a big amount of money for me. When you live there, they both are friendly to you. But once you move out, they change to another face and find any excuse for not returning your money. This apartments do not have any short term lease. Do not live there if you want to change a job or buy a house. Awful experience!!!

Do not move here!
On our initial visit I thought it looked great and the rent was really good but once we moved in it was a totally different story. The walls and floors are so thin i could every single thing my neighbors did it was so bad the neighbor above me snoring kept me up at night it was like she was in bed with me and then there the roaches it was disgusting they are everywhere it was so bad that we bought new furniture when we moved because we were worried that they could've gotten into our furniture and the last straw for us was i couldn't sleep so i was awake at 4am when all the sudden i heard water pouring onto the kitchen floor i ran in only to find so much sewage water coming from the drain the sink that it was spilling onto the floor then just mins later it started happening in the bathroom sink and toilet it was awfull i think it was from the woman upstairs but i don't even know how something like that could happen i didnt think sewer water and kitchen/drinking water should be connected like that and when i called the office they had an attitude about it like was bothering them or something i mean there was nasty gross smelling water literally pouring into my apt. thru the sinks and they had the nerve to be rude to ME about it when i threatened to call the health dept. then acted ALOT nicer but still got no explanation. So over all i would never recommend living here.

Currently being sued by Haddon HIlls!!!
Lived there for over 10 years. With the economy being what it became, I was laid off from my job of 10 years. Explained to the office that I might have to break my lease because I became unemployed and couldn't afford my rent any longer and I was told by Bill (manager) that I would be charged a fee for breaking my lease before the year term was up, and would also be charged all of the remaining months, and also for however many months it would then take them to find a new tenant!!! Ultimately, 3 years later, I am being sued for over $5000.00. I received one notice from the courts advising me that they wanted to sue me for the dollar amount. Never received a court date, or any other information and realized about an hour ago they took every penney (literally leaving a zero balance)in both my bank account and removed $1000.00 from my childs student bank account, leaving that account with a zero balance also!!! Be very cautious about your financial affairs if you move here. Apparently if you are part of this poor economy and you lose your job, they will track you down and sue you for unreasonable charges rather than being thankful they had a tenant that was honest enough to immediately go to them and try to explain their financial issues. I am totally sick over this considering they also depleted my childs account of what was money to pay a student loan and car insurance :((( Ask all questions first and get everything in writing before you sign a lease there.

you don't get what you pay for!
Wooden floors are too poorly fitted. Often, floors are very noisy and maintainance folks say "we cant do anything". ------ AC is provided placed at a fixed location insufficient to cool even in my dining room. Kitchen cabinets are spacious but improperly constructed. No microwave. No walk-in-closet. Closet space is very limited. Windows and other fixtures look good from distance, but is all weared. No cleaning facility in the stairways. Staff is not at all co-operative (mostly old people). Only pro is its closeness to train station, and comparatively lower rent compared to other apartments. I would recommend paying 100$ more to live in a better place than Haddon Hills. Its a place for retired and family people. Single person would bore to death in this place. I regret signing a lease, just for the lure of low rent and train proximity. I would not like to see anyone in my shoes.

Great place for Students
I've been here for about 1 year. -Management & Staff -- always really friendly and helpful. - Apartments -- they're a little old and the radiator heat isn't the best, but it's clean. Noise can be a problem, but that's the deal with apartment-living. I would suggest getting to know one's neighbors so that any noise complaints can be dealt with personally. - Price -- it's amazing for the space/location. I have friends in philly/victor apts in camden/local area, and this is the best. - Location -- right next to rt. 70, PATCO, etc.

MOVE IN AT YOUR OWN RISK...
You may think this is a great place to live but it isnt. yeah the price is nice but thats just about it. I've lived in the development for 1yrs and its something i regret doing. Im a single parent of 2kids yet mgmt felt the need to put me and both my toodlers in the middle of OLDER PEOPLE who arent use to the noise level. I have one neighbor that will call the cops after every noise my children makes. Mgmt will take the older people word before taking mine when i dont even get a ticket. Now im trying to move out bc for 1 entire year its been hell. i have a friend that lives in one of the apartment and she hates it has well bc its roach infested. every summer she sees waterbugs and they arent small. I wont recommend this development to anyone with kids bc there's alot of old people in the area who seem to hate kids. ive asked MGmt to move me since im having problems and they would rather get rid of me someone who's paying more rent than the older lady then work with me. The people in the development are racist. there are drug dealers in the development. but mgmt doesnt see all this happening bc they are worried about 2kids running up and down step meanwhile right across the street from me is a couple who dont work at all and they have people coming in and out of there house all hours getting drugs. maybe its bc they are white and im --------. i dont know but all i know is im leaving this place bc its the worst place ever. move in at your own risk.

Pretty good
Location is excellent. I have lived here for about 3.5 years, and don't really have any serious complaints. Walls are extremely thin; you need to have area rugs or everything will be that much louder; I would highly recommend a second floor apt so you do not hear stomping around. Kitchen is tiny, but up to date. Bathroom has ancient toliets, but they work fine. One issue: the heat comes on in Oct by itself and stays on until April. You will be warm all winter. Grounds are uninspiring. No decor, but no trash either. Overall a good experience and I would recommend. Any apt is a crap shoot; I live near 2 old men who make no noise, if you movie in below a family, beware.

Noisy With Bad Management
it really 100% depends upon your neighbors. If you're lucky and get nice, quiet neighbors, your time here will be fine. You'll have nothing to complain to management about, therefore your experience will be ok. If you get crappy neighbors (which unfortunately seems to be 95% of the tenants in this complex), you're basically screwed. The walls are extremely thin. You'll hear everything. Their fights, their screaming children, their parties, even their TVs. I could even hear the guy below me yawning. I'm not exaggerating. But perhaps he had exaggerated yawns? Whatever..Management will NOT help. they act like you're bothering them instead of doing their job. It's a shame too because the place itself isn't so bad, it's just the people who are. *Also, if it snows, prepare to walk through it for about 2 weeks until they get someone to shovel.

Good value, Great location
I lived in Haddon Hills from 2001 to 2010 and mostly enjoyed my time there. You really can't beat it for the price. I started out paying $595/mo and it was $750 when I left, which, as I m discovering, is not bad at all for a one-bedroom apartment in such a great location. There are plenty of stores within walking distance, and the train to Phila is only a few blocks away, which was great as I work in Philly. The staff was really nice and attended to my requests quickly; maintenance usually came out on the same day I asked for repairs. Parking was fine, and if I couldn t find a spot in the lot, I just parked in the street. You do tend to hear your neighbors if you live on the 1st floor as I did, but it really didn t bother me. One of the few gripes I had was snow removal while they did plow the lots and shovel (most of) the walks, I felt that they could have done a better job a few times I had to shovel one of the walkways myself in order to comfortably get to my car in the lot. Another drawback is that the apartments are old, as well as the appliances within, and the heat (old-fashioned radiators), while included in the rent, is regulated by the complex, resulting in sometimes freezing and other times having to open the windows during the winter. I did see roaches once (my neighbor got them and they spread to all of the apartments in our building), but the exterminator took care of them quickly. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this complex.

Beware!
The employees in the office, specifically Jane, are rude. If you should ever have the need to call them, you will be met with resistance and hesitancy. Those who rent from this apartment complex tend to be the lower-class, however; they have no class. Neighbors are way too noisy during all hours of the night as the walls are paper-thin. The maintenance crew is unfriendly and tracks mud throughout your aparment without any care. The only good thing is the price, however; you do get what you pay for.

Nice, unpretenious affordable and way cheaper than Philly- Good Schools
"The Hills" is not fancy but offers fair rent and a very good location. If your searching for granite counters, elevators and hot tub baths this place isn't for you. But if you want decent sized apartments, nice neighbors, a clean and well kept location in a town with a very good school system with both elementary and high school within walking distance all for a very low rent price this place is for you. If you own a home in Haddon Township you will pay very very high property taxes. A 200K home will have taxes in the 6k to 8 k range, this affords a good school system. You can still take advantage of these schools by renting here. It's a very good deal. It's also a perfect alternative to the high rent and crappy apartments in Philly. The train is a three minute walk from the apartments and takes about 15 minutes to be in center city. Trust me, anything listed in Philly for around the price of Haddon Hills will be a dump. There is a very popular and huge borough recreation center across the street. The pool is perfect, cheap for residents, clean and everyone is classy and decent. (This ain't no low class urban wanna-be area). The town has lots of civic pride and many generations of families remain in the area. The town sports program for kids is outstanding they even invested in an artificial turf field recently at the cost of several millions. If you like nature, there is a 40 acre protected woods behind the elementary school just down the street which was found to have the oldest standing old growth forest in NJ. Trees over 200 to 300 years old. (Saddlers Woods) We moved out of "The Hills" when we finished graduate school in 2004. We bought a home during the booming real estate market. We now have huge taxes and an over valued home. We would have been better off staying in "The Hills" for a few more years and saving our money. We would still be able to enjoy the nice area and have much more cash in our pockets and in the bank. The only drawback we ever had was once we had some bugs starting to show up but this was 100% corrected the minute I called to complain. Also - sure at times you might here a neighbor - but this is pretty much gonna be anyplace you rent. It wasn't that bad and I'm sure at times WE were the noisy ones. If you htink this might bother you request a second floor unit. We didn't have kids yet but they were always around playing and I knew many of them by name just after a few months. They were all very friendly and they added lots of life to the neighborhood. We eventually adopted a cat, even though the lease says you can't have one. I was told the only time they enforce the cat issue is if others complain, naturally. Some of the units have newer appliances and updated cabinets, nothing fancy but nice enough. The floors are oak and were in nice shape. The place can be decorated and furnished nicely and you can paint it if you want otherwise it's beige. The heat and gas (oven) was free. The heat was very warm never chilly and I never ran out of hot water. Ever. You will need a window air unit, some of the apartments come with it and they will put it in and take it out for you. Our average electric bill was about 45 to 50. I suppose thats about 80 to 90 nowadays. We had Comcast cable and high speed access and you pay Comcast directly for this not the apartments. So, overall I say the place is a smart move. PS- we now own a home in the same town where Haddon Hills is located. It is a modest starter home. The property taxes alone are twice that I paid in rent and have gone up over 1k per year. My utility bill when averaged exceeds my old rent... since the housing bubble burst my home is over valued and wouldn't sell for what is owed despite that fact we actually used a normal 20 % down fixed rate mortgage - I was laid off this year even with advanced degree in engineering and 10 years at a fortune 500 company - my wife is an attorney. Go figure, we are counting every dime since the bankers pulled rug out from under us. We had more freedom and time together when we lived at "The Hills" even though we were in school and working at that time... I often think how easy living was at "The Hills". Bottom line: not that bad.
I've lived in Haddon Hills Apts in a townhouse for the last 2 years, i'm moving out this september. My move out is due to moving in with my significant other, and moving closer to work. Here's the bottom line: its really not that bad. I consider the rent very fair, boarding on really good. I paid 1005 for a 2 bedroom town house with 1 bathoom. It has all wood floors, which is great for cleaning, as long as you keep up with it. The windows, not the best, but they are what they are. There is no garbage disposal, and there is not a dishwasher. There heat, which is a good temperature in the winters, but there is no airconditioning. You will need a window unit, because the exterior is all brick. 1 window unit for downstairs, and 1 for a bedroom was enough for me, that was a total of about 220 from Home depot. My only issue is the bathroom. Its old, the water pressure is good, but all units of hooked into the same water heater, so you get the blast of hot water when someone flushes. They are really old, so the tile is probably stained, my tub came with stains i've never gotten out. The staff: i've never had a problem with jane or bill. I think people complaining about rent are wrong. I paid on time, mailed my check into the LLC, so I had no problems. Maintenance is not bad, but not great. We had squirrels in the attic, they depend on the tennants to let them in. The maintenance guys reaked of booze, however i'm 100% they were external contracters. Mail is throw threw your slot by the postman, so he scatters on the floors, and trash builds up in the dumpsters outside. This is all what you should expect in a apartment complex. Bottom line: the area is safe. My neighbors are pretty friendly, and I think everyone's in the same boat here in.. trying to save some money, and live somewhere safe. I was in the units on West End, across from the soccer field. Its within walking distance of the train station and a thirtway. Pets are interesting because they say no dogs, but plenty of my neighbors have them. It is a noisy a bit because the buildings are old. Laundry is $1.50 for washer then $1.50 for dryer, but you'll want to use $1.75 for dryer or your clothes will not be fully dry. On 1 complaint... all the basements for the washers are flooded when in rains, you kind just live with it.

A great place
Haddon Hills is a great place to live. I have lived here with old management in place and then moved back with new management in place. I really do only have nice things to say about Haddon Hills. To start, the office is wonderful, I adore Jane and I adore Bill. I have read all these reviews and living here in 2 different time periods, I have alot of experience. My apartment is awesome, hardwood floors & nice size rooms. Alot of complaints are how the apts are not modernized. These apts have such charm!! I myself would not want a modern apt with a dish washer and new cabinets ect. I am all about charm and my apt has it. Everyone says how cute my place is all the time. An apt is what you make of it. I rarely use the laundry rooms because I can get it all done at the laundry mat a few blocks away in record time. I have used the laundry rooms for a quick load here and there and its fine, I wasnt expecting the Hilton as far as basement laundry rooms go, it serves its purpose and I haven't seen bugs in ours ever. Bugs? Call the exterminator, he will come out once a week free of charge. I dont have a problem with them. I don't have a problem with noise, yes you most certainly can hear your neighbors at times but I run a fan to drown what ever minor noise there is and I have a sound machine, and I am lucky, I try to be quiet and mindful of my neighbors and they do the same for me. Its a common courtesy thing. Do unto others how you want to be treated. Complaints about maintanence are unfair. I would not want a job where I am out in the open for the public eye and if I decided to make a phone call or stop for something, be judged on it and viewed as not doing anything.I see these guys all day long doing everything. Most, honestly counldnt be nicer. I never had a problem, they fix what is broken asap, they have never entered my apt unannounced or why I wasn't there. The grounds are kept up, it is very safe to live here and it cant be beat for the price. It is close to Collingswood, Haddonfield and public transportation. As far as the complaints about the office and rent, this is a business, and if you can't pay your rent, its not Jane's or Bill's fault. As for the complaint that things never will get done if your rent isn't paid, what do you expect? Something for nothing? Haddon Hills has gotten a bad rap because of a few angry people. Its a place where you can keep your many windows open and feel safe all day. I say blah to the negative reviews, you cant please everyone. I am thankful I live here and I have a great place that looks incrediable, in a safe area and is easy to afford.

Very satisified
I'm in a 2BR with a roommate. For the price, you can't beat it. The location is excellent; walking distance to store/bank/bars/patco/local community pool, it really is ideal. The wood floors are awesome, I would never choose carpets if I didn't have to. The balcony is great to have and the grounds are decent/nice. Parking has never been a problem and the office has been cooperative. We had an issue with our door, they fixed that. We had an issue with the toilet, they fixed that. The lady below had an issue with her roof leaking, so they came up to our balcony and resurfaced it which fixed her problem. Our fridge/freezer started frosting up, 3 days later we had a new fridge. I wonder how the other reviewers can have such a different experience with the front office... Maybe they're rude to the guy, as he's very nice to me. Or maybe they just treat their apt like ---- and wonder why it's infested or stuff keeps breaking? It's the same basic problem everyone can have, your neighbors make or break your apt experience. The initial adjustment to my neighbors was the only issue I had. That soon passed as we adjusted to the relatively thin walls and wooden floors that carpet would otherwise help with noise-transfer. I think we gave our neighbors more trouble initially than they us. In our unit they are very quiet and definitely respect unwritten quiet hours "10p-10a" Others complain about heat/running a/c and the water. I can see where they're coming from. In the winter it was a bit cool, but I prefer it that way. During the summer I'm not sure how someone can blame the office that it's too hot and they need to run A/C... The water pressure is overall GREAT; while yes it does drop to nearly a trickle at times, it's very rare and certainly not a bother. My only complaint is more of a wish, I only wish they allowed dogs :) I'm going to give the noise level a 4/5 due to my neighbors being awesome. But the walls are defintely thin, so hopefully you get great neighbors too. Feel free to contact me about the apts: eakius@yahoo.com

Only one drawback
I have lived at Haddon Hills for 11 years total. I dont have a problem with management. If something is broken it does get fixed. I dont have a problem with bugs, I did on and off but the exterminator is free and all you have to do is call to have him come out. The water pressure is okay, some days its low and some days it full blast, but its not something to complain about. I have never had a major issue here with management or my apt. I love it. You cannot beat the price for the area, the beautiful hardwood floors and the grounds. I believe alot of the compliants are more with their neighbors and not with the "office" or apartment itself. My only complaint and its no fault of the office or the apt. is my neighbors. And this has been with neighbors in the past. It always flabbergasts me that people let their small children run wild all day in the summer and at night at really really young ages. They let them litter my walkway and my steps with toys, food, and whatever else they feel the need to drag out. This is my major issue. The fact that it goes unnoticed to the parents, is amazing. I do at times feel like I am in a Barney video or a guest on sesame street. I am forever picking up after kids that are not mine. My little lawn area is coved with tents, toys ect. I know kids need a place to play especially in the summer months but thats what parks and playgrounds are for. It is the only drawback to Haddon Hills. So Management, if you are reading, put out a flyer and maybe these wonderful moms of the year will take the hint!! I think some moms use the "excuse" that Haddon Hills is so safe that they can let the children out all day & night and not have to worry. It is a shame that I can not enjoy sitting outside to read or what not without the noise of children and all their things all over and the 50 million inquisitive questions they ask. It is starting to get old.
