Mixed Reviews
I have been living at Haddon Hills for nearly 6 months now. The biggest positive is the price. For a single bedroom aparment, which is quite large, it costs me $649.00 per month. You obviously cannot beat that. Since the building was built in the 1950's, one may experience a number of maintenance issues. I have had my fair share and the maintenance people lack in their ability to perform their job. The front office is fairly nice, however, I did get the feel that they were nice to me up until I signed the lease. If I needed to contact them afterwards, I was given the impression that I was bothering them. The exterior leaves something to be desired, however, the interior is quite beautiful. No two apartments are alike as they vary in dimensions.

Not nearly as bad as these reviews
I have been living in Haddon Hills since October 2008. I read all the horrible reviews before moving here, but when I found out that they were charging only $699 a month(now $649 for new residents) I decided that its only a year lease so I'd give it a try. I have a 1 bedroom upstairs in the 112-117 area. Dont fall for any people who respond to this with "thats written by the management -- as I do not work here, I only live here). The noise issue isnt really THAT bad. If the downstairs (or upstairs) neighbors are very heavy on their feet you will hear them stomping around, and I can hear the TV in my neighbors apartment across the hall from me, but they're at that age where they keep them pretty loud, so I just keep mine loud enough to drown theirs out. You get what you pay for, and you're not going to find anything this cheap anywhere but Camden, so its not too much of a big deal. The water pressure is bearable -- it DOES change during a shower.. Every few buildings share water lines, and everyone has tank-less toilets, so they use HUGE ammounts of water pressure when they are flushed, so it lowers the COLD water pressure significantly, which in turn makes the shower's pressure suddenly go very low and hot because of the lack of cold water. Other than that, they do not have low-flow shower heads, so you normally get VERY powerful water flow. To add to this, the "no hot water" complaints are also bogus. A few months ago the water heater for my building failed and did not get fixed for several days, but they still are able to provide reasonably warm water -- not enough to burn yourself, but still plenty for a comfortable shower. The heat is controlled by the management, so its radiator heat with no thermostat or control at all, and they keep it at full throttle non-stop. I have never seen my apartment below 68*F even when it was almost 0*F outside in the morning -- its actually normally between 74 and 78 at all times, so I tend to keep windows partially open.. I'm paying for it in my rent, so they'd better keep it running at full capacity, because I wont tolerate being cold if I'm paying for heat. Parking is reasonable, I have a massive lot in the back which tends to fill up at night, but the front almost always has empty spaces. I have a HUGE courtyard in front of me and behind me, and I'm set pretty far from the street. The entire complex is VERY well lit at night -- sometimes too well. I often come in at 3-4am on weekends and feel very safe, its so bright that my first few weeks I had trouble sleeping with the window shades that are provided. Maintainence has been very good since I moved in. I've called for a few things, now, and minor things like the sink filling too slow got taken care of the next day, but when my kitchen sink drain was emptying into my cabinets, someone came knocking on the back door within 10 minutes. I have never felt uncomfortable with the people in the office -- Bill, Jane, and William are very easy to talk to, though I prefer to talk to William on weekends. Bill (the manager) is seen frequently, inspecting the outside of the buildings, picking up trash left outside on the grounds, or walking through recently empty apartments. There are dumpsters and recycling cans in the parking lot which are emptied 2 or 3 times a week, but the paper recycling is often over-filled and piled up next to it on the final day before pickup. Washers and dryers are scattered across the complex, with usually 2 or 3 sets of washers and dryers. Washers cost $1.50 for 26 minutes and the dryers are $1.25 for 45 minutes. No dogs allowed. You can have two cats, but they must be approved by the office, though I've seen people with 3. Your only option for television (other than rabbit ears) is Comcast, which is a shame because the quality isnt nearly as good as Verizon, though Verizon is available for internet and telephone service. Cell phone service is flawless -- I use T-Mobile and have a full signal in my apartment at all times. Location, location, location... Mailing address is Haddonfield, so you can let people think you're old money, or you can tell them you're in nice middle-class Westmont. The complex is across the street from a small lake and swimming pool, two blocks away is a train into Philadelphia. On the otherside is a supermarket, pizza place, liquor store, chinese restaurant, bank, and a few other stores. McDonalds and Wendys are a few blocks away, as are the trendy downtown Westmont and Haddonfield restaurants (and multi-million dollar Haddonfield homes are only a couple blocks down the street). They have 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, and 2 & 3 bedroom townhouses, the apartments are decent, but the townhouses are fantastic, townhouses have private front and rear entrances, two floors, and a single bathroom. All include heat and hot/cold water in the rent, and all are priced far under what you would pay for a mortgage on a home of similar size in the area would be. I plan reside in Haddon Hills for a very long time.

Nothing To Brag About
As a new resident in "Haddon Hills" I find that it is a decent place to live. Nothing to brag about really; the office staff is friendly but the maintenance lacks. The apartments themsevles are quite nice, however, the grounds are not kept up nicely. Note that the 400 apartments and townhouses were built in the 1950s. This place was very affordable but you do get what you pay for.

I like this place
I've been living at this complex for a little over 2 years now. I definitely have not had the problems these other people have encountered. I recommend living here. I honestly think the other people leaving reviews are the "born to complain" types. I pay my rent on time. This is the real world. This is my first place so I don't have anything to compare it to except my friends' apartments. I like mine best though. I have a 2-bedroom on the second floor. I live by myself. I pay around $850/month, which includes heat and hot water. Rent goes up about $25 a year. Most places will charge you for heat, or else your heat is electric. My only utility bill is roughly $50/month, for electricity and cooking gas. They have a 2 month lease cycle, which is nice because one day I plan to move back to Philly and I won't have to wait a year for my lease to be up. The size is decent, and I like the layout. I love the many windows--lots of natural light. They are a bit drafty but it's not hard to put plastic on the windows in the winter, if it bothers you that much. It doesn't bother me. The hardwood floors are pretty. They let you paint the walls, hang curtains and pictures etc. Most places will not let you paint at all. I think the color on my walls definitely gives this place a homey feel. It's true about the heat. Sometimes it's really hot and I have to open windows in January. Other times it's freezing and I have to plug in my space heater and wear a sweatshirt. It's never absolutely unbearable. And hey, it's free. Water pressure is great--I get absolutely the best strong, hot showers ever. I don't know what these other people are talking about. Repairs are done within the week that you request them. I have never, ever seen a roach in my apartment. No bugs at all. The laundry room--which is across the parking lot and in a cement basement--looks like a roachy-type place but I do my laundry at my mom's so it's never bothered me personally. If people have roaches in their apartments, maybe they should take the trash out more often? The buildings are old and I do find I need repairs somewhat often. What the one lady said was true--you can't really plug in more than a few things at a time or you'll blow a circuit. This just happened to me last week. I had the tv, space heater, and vacuum going. Lights out! It's not super fancy but it's nice and it's cozy. Plus I'm not trying to pay for "fancy." It's an old building. But everything works. Parking is plentiful, except in the summer when every trashy/snobby Haddonfield resident brings their screaming, sloppy children to the public pool across the street. Then you might want to find something better to do on a Saturday--somewhere else. Speaking of noise, this is probably the only serious complaint I have. I can hear my neighbor's tv. Not the people across the hall, but the person that lives below me. She keeps it pretty loud. It's really annoying. I've said things to management and to her directly. I've learned to live with it, and vow to save up enough money to buy a single home one day. Last but not least, safety. This complex is in Haddonfield, which is among the richer, snootier areas in NJ. Homes just down the street are going for a cool mil. It's a pleasant jog, really. I've never been afraid for my safety, although once a female neighbor told me a man exposed himself to her while she was jogging at night. Also once there was some graffiti on my car. But then, rich drunk teenagers have to have something to do at night, right? Annoying, but I was able to scrape it off. I did not report it. Fire/police respond right away to anything. Good township to live in.

Renter for a couple years
I had lived in Haddon Hills Apartments for a couple of years. They have gone through a couple managements. I have called in to complain about how noisy my neighbors are and they brushed me off and said to call the local cops because they can't do anything about it unless there is something on record. The noise varies depending on your neighbors. But they place people where ever there is an opening. They would put a family and a single person next to each other. One of the things I hate the most is that my neighbor downstairs smokes and all the smokes seeps through the first floor to my apartment. The walls and floors are thin and you can hear your neighbors phone ring. Maintenance has been good through out the year of my stay, but the water pressure and the hot and cold water is an issue. I would take a shower in the morning and the water pressure would change or it would go cold and then hot. There was a time where I didn't have running hot water because the boiler was broken, but it was fixed after a week. There's no thermostats for the apartments, so the heat is on full blast and I would have my windows open most of the winter. Parking is normally available most of the year. But when summer comes, I won't be able to find a parking spot because of the local community pool center. I thought safety wasn't an issue, but after living there I found that everyone has the same key to the entrance door. There was one time where they did a fire alarm inspection and they walked in my apartment while I was sleeping. A neighbor called in to complain about the same thing and found that they have the right to walk in the front door after a knock and announcing they were maintenance. I don't use the laundry facilities, because it's at one of the end of the apartment complex in the basement. The place looks and feels like I am in the sewer system. They also have storage space for an extra cost, but it gets flooded every once in a while and they don't do anything to fix it while they collect they money. They have stated that cats are not allowed but, I have seen as many as three cats per apartment. It is obvious they do not enforce anything around the place. I only stayed because it was convenient to Patco, food market, bank and other local stores. The rule of survival there was to keep it to yourself and others will do the same to you in exception to the noise. The above address is incorrect. It is actually the address below: Haddon Hills Apartment 210 West Crystal Lake Ave Haddonfield, NJ 08033 Haddon Hills Apartment is on both Haddonfield and Haddontownship boarders. It helps if you have some kind of political affiliation.

Haddon Horror Apartments
I lived in Haddon Hills for 10 years. The first few years were really nice. It is in a great location, in walking distances to all the stores and there are very good schools for children. The owners have really let the place go. I spent 10 years living with cockroaches, they really are as bad as previous people have stated. I had the exterminator come every Thursday like clock work and it did no good. The heat situation was horrible. It was like the tropics in our apartments. We would laugh because in the dead of winter you could drive around the apartments and see everyone's windows open. Maintenance left alot to be desired. They came when they felt like it and even when the did come whatever the problem was, it barely got solved. I could never put anything under the kitchen sink because for ten years the pipe broke over and over. There was adequate parking for sure but at the expense of your car. I have had tires slashed, car mirrors broken ect. What did it for me was the people they starting renting too. Our last summer there, there were fist fights in the parking lots, cars being purposely damaged ect. The cops were always at Haddon Hills. Im pretty sure its public knowledge as to how many police visits are made to an apartment complex or neighborhood. The class of people they rent to know is pathetic. The partking lots are always filled with overflowing trash, kids playing hockey/ball in the parking lot and damaging cars ect. When I would complain to the office about dirty neighbors, overflowing dumpsters ect nothing was done and "I" became the "problem". As previously stated, if you are 2 weeks late on your rent, which I never was, but I knew 3 people who were and came home from work with a sheriff's notice on their door! This is not an exaggeration. It does not seem legal but they do it and then you have to pay their "lawyer" and late fees ect. I know one single mom who had this happen to her 3 times, and she was a 13 year tenant. They always got paid but they put her through hell for being "late". The office has no sense of class. Talking to "management" is like talking to a street bum with a 4th grade education. They are rude, classless and oh so uneducated. They have no professionalism. I stayed longer than I should have because I always hoped it would get better or they would get new owners or better management. They never did. It really is a shame because at one time these apartments were so nice but not anymore. I often wondered how haddon township home owners that live right down the street from the apts felt paying high taxes yet living a stones threw away from their own mini camden. I have witnessed more fist fights, drunken brawls and husband and wives beating the crap out of each other on a daily basis. I loved the camden "probation officers" who visit the tenants that rent there, thats always a real treat. Its pathetic and sad it turned into a ------. Do not let the exterior full you, at night and on weekends its a a ------, the manicure lawns and neat appearance are a fraud. I would not recommend Haddon Hills to anyone.

"new" management
Bill has been the manager for some time now at HH and ever since he has been manager it now feels like we r living under communist rule. When Marie ran HH it was an awesome place to live and everyone smiled and said hello and enjoyed the "park like setting" with Bill as the manager, he knows when you fart he has us under such strict lock and key and the park like setting is left for the squirrels because you know he'll be telling you youre doing something wrong even if you know your not. Oh and this i think is completely ridiculous HE changes apartment policy and rules left and right and most of which are 150% unfair and for absolutely no reason, he likes making our lives miserable i guess. But when things REALLY need to be done like sewers and sinks backing up or ceilings caving in, he takes his time to fix them. WE NEED MARIE BACK!! Bills gotta move on, and let us have our lives back

A nice place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there...
I lived in Haddon Hills apartments for a little over a year. Contrary to many of the reviews below, I have never had a problem with bugs - but I was in a one bedroom apartment on the second floor. My main concern the entire time was the noise level. You can literally hear a pin drop through the walls and the floors of this place (I imagine because it is all hard wood flooring - although I still had problems after covering most of it with area rugs). Unless you are a church mouse, you may have problems with neighbors, even during times that are not "quiet hours". Everything echoes. I would have to have music or even my television turned down to so low a level I could barely even hear it myself to avoid a neighbor banging on my door or my floor/his ceiling. Water pressure was a bit of an issue as well - I would turn the shower on and it would blast the skin off of you, and then all of a sudden lessen to just a trickle, then go back to normal. This happened with my kitchen faucet, as well. The heat was unbearable, as well - and I am someone who is always cold!! One of my radiator units (in my living room) was turned off by the previous tenant, and I had to call the office to have someone come in and turn it on due to the fact that I was freezing. Well, I regretted doing that - from that point on, I don't think my apartment dropped under 80 degrees without the windows open. And it's not much better in the summer. I had to run the air conditioner constantly to even keep just my living room at a comfortable level. My kitchen was ridiculously hot due to the contant pilot on in my stove. I can not even use it to cook most days because it gets way too hot. My bedroom was scorching as well - the bedrooms have a larger-than-usual window that a window air conditioner can not fit into without some serious work - so be prepared to make due with a ceiling fan and as many other fans as you can muster up. Other than that, no real complaints... parking was always adequate, the grounds were kept up very nicely, and I never had an issue with anyone being rude from the office as others had (although every time I called I got William or Jane, and both of them are wonderful.)

rude manager, scary roaches
i love the location and hardwood floors at haddon hills. the townhomes come with a nice backyard that would be hard to find somewhere else for the price. this being said, the manager bill is beyond rude and extremely unhelpful. when calling the office to address an issue, he is rude, unconcerned, and straight out ignorant. he is sarcatsic and obviously thinks poor manners will finally make you give up on contacting him about problems in the apartment. the other two individuals that work in the office, william and jane, are extremely helpful and kind. william has been such a help from the first time i came in to look at an apartment. noise levels between apartments is poor and the spring brings along many many roaches. the exterminator comes when the office is called, but it is a temporary fix as the cockraoches have infested the basement. i love the location and space at haddon hills, but between the poor management and the roaches, i am torn between staying and leaving.

Rent at your own risk
I spent 10 years living at Haddon Hills Apartments. For the first 3 years it was an excellent place to live after that it went down hill and just continued to get worse. It seems to me they just started to rent to people who were trash. In my building I had so many problems with the neighbors, they and their awful children would slam the doors all day long in and out. They blared music, let food drop in the hallways and then leave it there ect. No matter how many times I complained and complained nothing was ever done about them. The cops were at the apts more times than I can count. Public knowledge, go to the Haddon Twp. police dept and ask them how many times they have been to the apts. My neighbors were your worst nightmare. There is a crazy lady, everyone knows who she is, trust me, she gets trashed every day and then curses at you and all the other tenants in a drunken stupor. The cops know her by name. Again the office continues to let her live there. The heat and plumbing is old and works when it feels like it. The cockroaches are pure hell. They can never get rid of them, in fact the office swore they were "water bugs". The exterminator comes out but beware he is a perv. The maintenance guys except for one were more like the 3 stooges than workers. This is a mini camden in here. I stayed because I could not afford to move until recently. It was pure hell. When Marie ran the place it was a great place to live, but the management they have now sucks. They kiss your butt and promise the moon but as soon as you sign the lease your done. My car got keyed, damaged, sliced tires ect. I must have called the cops 15 times over the years. To me the worst part was the other tenants. They advertise that most of the residents are working professionals. Um, wrong. Most of my neighbors barely spoke english and had more kids in tow than I care to think about. Save yourself some money and move staight to camden, at least there you know what your getting yourself into.

Highly recommended????? NOT
I'm glad I happened by this review area. I lived at Haddon Hills (which is not in Collingswood, as this site says) for 3 years and moved out this summer of 2007. In reading the only two positive reviews below, I would surmise that they were written by management, acting as tenants. In support of Haddon Hills, if you're looking for location, that place is good. Its right on a major road (if you dont mind the constant noise)and across the street from a shopping center. It is indeed convenient to shopping and public transportation. As for ammenities that they offer, that would be NILL. I hung out there as long as I could because it was convenient to the PATCO speedline and I used it for school and work. Whoever wrote that they'd rather pay 700 and be safe rather than 1000, well, nowhere in Haddon Hills is there rent for 700 a month. Those apartments, at least up until I left, were roach infested. Yes, they had an exterminator that would come out on Thursdays (at the apts expense) but if everyone in the entire building didn't spray, the roaches were back within a day. The would just run from the spray for a few days, then return. The storage rooms are also infested (even worse) with roaches, which filter up into the apartments upstairs. The laundry rooms are infested also...even in washers and dryers. I believe every place is what YOU make of it but if you're looking for your money's worth, Haddon Hills is NOT the place to go. I had very drafty windows, and my bathtub was forever just pouring out water when not in use, and when I called the office for assistance, the woman (I believe her name is Jane) told me "they'd get around to it because they're busy". A week later, after no one showed up, I contacted the office again asking to speak to the manager. I was told "he was too busy to come to the phone" and that he'd get back to me. Even though I moved out 5 1/2 months later, I never heard back and no one ever showed up to stop the leak. We were getting monthly newsletters stuck in mailboxes and under our doors. Everyone locally was complaining that these newsletters were nothing more than a nuisance. And they were. Nothing in them pertained to the complex, other than to be told our rent is due on the 1st of every month and our elevated late fee (added on the 5th of the month) was now $50 rather than the $25 that it used to be. I noticed on the back, there was a calendar. Each month they had a "wave to your maintanance man" day!! What is that about????? From what I could remember of maintanance, they sat in their vehicles in various parking lots and didn't do very much. I remember quite a few mornings leaving for work and finding our manager walking around outside (this is around 7 - 7:15 most mornings) just looking around in various apartments. At first I thought he was some kind of 'peeping tom' because the only place I'd see him looking, was up at various apartment windows, then I realized he was our new manager Bill. Overall, if you're looking to be close to public transportation or live by a shopping center, Haddon Hills is the place to go. I found another local apartment complex which is close to public transportation and offers wall to wall carpet, central air, tenant controlled heat (we froze int he winter compliments of not controlling our heat and drafty windows), dishwasher, garbage disposal etc, for about $12 dollars a month more than what I paid at Haddon Hills. Well worth my extra money to be minus the roaches too!! I think this site is intended for honesty and I hope Haddon Hills management wont place a post behind this, acting as a tenant, boasting their facilities.

NEW MANAGEMENT HAS RUINED THIS COMPLEX :-(
I'VE LIVED HERE APPROXIMATELY 5 YEARS NOW. ITS UNREAL HOW ITS CHANGED WITH THE NEW MANAGER, BILL. MY NEIGHBOR RECENTLY LOST HER JOB AND SEARCHED UNTIL SHE FOUND SOMETHING. BECAUSE SHE WAS 2 WEEKS BEHIND IN RENT (2 WHOLE WEEKS!!) THE SHERIFFS DEPT CAME AND SERVED HER WITH EVICTION PAPERS. SHE BOROWED MY PHONE TO CALL OFFICE. WOMAN NAMED JANE WAS COMPLETELY RUDE TO HER THEN PUT BILL ON PHONE. HE WAS EVEN WORSE. TOLD THIS POOR WOMAN TO MOVE WHERE SHE CAN AFFORD AND LET SOMEONE MOVE IN HERE WHO CAN PAY!! ITS ALREADY OCTOBER 17TH AND EVEN THOUGH THE WEATHER IS NICE DURING THE DAY, ITS VERY COLD AT NIGHT INSIDE. WE HAVE NO HEAT BUT THE OFFICE RADIATORS ARE HEATED. TENANTS HAVE GONE SO FAR AS TO CALL POLICE AND CONTACT OUR LOCAL RENT CONTROL COORDINATOR. "TRUTH IN RENTING" SAYS HEAT GOES ON OCT 1ST. BILL KEEPS HIS OFFICE NICE AND COZY BUT SOME OF US OLDER RETIRED TENANTS ARE VERY COLD AT NIGHT. WE'RE SIMPLY TOLD TO "BUNDLE UP" WHILE THE OFFICE STAFF WALKS AROUND IN SHORT SLEEVES ALL DAY. MOST TENANTS HAVE ORGANIZED TO SIGN A PETITION TO SEND TO THE NORTH JERSEY COMPLEX OWNERS ASKING (PLEADING) FOR THIS NEW MANAGER TO BE REMOVED. THE MANAGER BEFORE HIM WAS WONDERFUL, SHE HAD FANTASTIC BUSINESS SENSE. ALL THIS NEW MANAGER DOES IS TALK BAD ABOUT HER TO OTHER TENANTS. INCLUDING MYSELF. HE ALSO SAYS NEGATIVE THINGS REGARDING ONE TENANT TO ANOTHER. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL, NOT SURE WHERE THEY FOUND THIS MAN BUT PITTING ONE TENANT AGAINST ANOTHER SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. TAKE A LOOK AT THE OUTSIDE. THESE APARTMENTS ARE OLD. INSIDE THEY ARE JUST AS BAD. VERY OLD PLUMMING. NO WATER PRESSURE. HIGHLY OUTDATED ELECTRIC. CANT RUN TWO ITEMS AT THE SAME TIME OR YOU BLOW A CIRCUIT. DRAFTY WINDOWS THAT BLOW IN WHEN ITS SEVERELY WINDY. CREAKY HARDWOOD FLOORS WHOS BOARDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED 10 YEARS AGO!! HE'S HIGHLY DECORATED THE OFFICE GROUNDS SO THAT IT LOOKS APPEALING YET YOUR EMPTY WILL LOOK NOTHING LIKE PROMISED WHEN YOU GO TO MOVE IN. MAINTANANCE IS ALLOWED TO GOOF OFF ALL DAY. THEY SIT IN THEIR VEHICLES AND USE THEIR CELL PHONES SOMETIMES FOR AN HOUR AT A TIME. MOST MORNINGS BILL CAN BE FOUND WALKING AROUND THE COMPLEX (ESPECIALLY WHERE I AM ON THE 100 SIDE) LOOKING INTO PEOPLE VEHICLES AND SCANNING APARTMENTS. ONE WONDERS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S LOOKING FOR AT THAT TIME OF THE MORNING. THIS PLACE WAS WONDERFUL WHEN I MOVED IN. WAS PRETTY GOOD (OTHER THAN HEAT AND PLUMMING ISSUES THAT ARE RECENT) UNTIL NEW MANAGEMENT ARRIVED. MOVE HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU'RE BEHIND IN RENT, YOU GET NOTHING DONE. YOU CAN HAVE A SEWER LEAK AND BE TOLD (AS WAS MY NEIGHBOR LAST YEAR) THAT IT'LL BE FIXED WHEN HIS RENT IS CURRENT. IF THATS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IN HOUSING, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. KEEP IN MIND THAT WE NOW HAVE SOME OF THE HIGHEST RENTAL RATES LOCALLY, WITH NOTHING TO OFFER FOR IT. OTHER LOCAL PLACES INCLUDE HEAT, HOT WATER, ELECTRIC, GAS, WALL TO WALL CARPET, GARBAGE DISPOSAL, DISHWASHER, SELF CLEANING OVENS, FROST FREE REFRIG/FREEZERS....NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE OFFERED HERE. ITS BARE BONES AT THIS COMPLEX. I AM FORCED TO STAY HERE BECAUSE I AM ON A FIXED INCOME AND CANT AFFORD TO MOVE. IF I COULD, I'D GIVE IMMEDIATE NOTICE.

BEWARE DO NOT MOVE IN BLNG 231 this guy in "D" was just OUT OF CONTROL JACKASS!!!

Not really worth the money...
I've lived here approx 5 years and have seen management change for the worse. The lady who was "landlord" was considerate and compassionate (even if only to placate her tenants...had a much better business sense) regarding the constant lack of heat in the winter, and lack of hot water year round, but this new "landlord" Bill, is consistantly rude to me and the surrounding tenants who call to discuss these and other maintanance issues. There is an older woman (70 year old) who lives next to me who is on a fixed income. She is occasionally a week late in rent (doing without food to pay this rent) and I've been with her when she's called the office because her sink was leaking onto the floor and was told "when she caught up on rent, they'd access the situation". VERY POOR PRACTICE!! It would appear this new guy is more into the new incoming tenants who are paying top dollar for drafty windows and leaky faucets, rather than the seasoned tenants who have been here for numerous years, overlooking the rundown complex and paying his inflated salary!! My rental increase was 2% higher this past year with new management...possibly covering the cost of the pamphlet that comes out monthly now telling us to "wave to our maintance man" and the coffee and donuts supplied at the office for those who do not care to attend. Rather than sending out monthly newsletters that talk about "astronomy", how about spending some of our rent money on repairing leaking roofs, windows that fall in with a good wind, disgusting laundry rooms, roach infested bldgs over the storeage rooms etc. The standing joke here is that if you call maint, you'll call at least 3 X's before they get the job done right. Many of us business people are here and remain here for the closeness of PATCO but if you dont mind driving an extra 10 min, most apts in Blackwood and Lindenwold offer much more (central air, diswasher, garbage disposal etc) for slightly less money...and the grounds are much better kept. Just handed in my 60 day notice to vacate 3 weeks ago and was told I would not get my security deposit back because I was 2 days short of actually making the "60 days". If you are looking for temporary living, this is the place to go but if you're looking to stay....your money is better spent elsewhere with better management. This place seemed to run like a well oiled machine with the previous "landlord" (Marie I believe her name was) in charge.

higly recommended!
If you're looking for a NICE and SAFE PLACE, this is what you're looking for. It's closed to public transportation (bus and train), public swimming pool, grocery shopping, hospital, etc. It's only 15 minutes train ride to Philly and 2 hours from Crystal Lake Ave, Haddonfield,NJ to NYC.

The people from the leasing office are courteous and approachable. One of the best apts in South Jersey.

Management
The apartments are older, but its within my budget. If you want something new and want to pay $1000/month go ahead, I rather spend $700/month and live in a safe place. Very clean apartment, not like most in the area. Management controls the heat which I don't pay for. Sometimes its too warm, so I open a window. Manager, Bill is always there when we need him. He has email, so if we have a concern, we drop him a line and its done right away. He cares about the senior citizens keeping them well informed on township events.

Old and small....and noisy
There are some nice features to living here; the rent is the lowest in the area, there are hardwood floors throughout, and the living and bedroom size are actually pretty good. The rest of the rooms are very small, however. There is a minimum of counter space in the kitchen, not a lot of cabinet space either, closets are very small. No modern amenities exist; no dishwasher, no garbage disposal, I had a freezer which needed to be defrosted until a few years ago. While I love living in Haddon Twp, and the apartment complex is very convenient to so many things, the noise is a clear drawback. I can always hear my neighbors, particularly those who live below me. It is easy to hear them talking, and if they have a large television, I can hear that too. Generally, I have found that people are not considerate, and do not adjust their behavior because they are living in community with others. While I try hard not to close doors loudly or walk heavy-footed or use the shower late at night, I have found that most others are not as considerate.

Affordable place to live. I just hate the fact that our crackhead neighbor was just disturbing the peace of tenant. Slamming and not shutting the front door properly. Nobody care to complain except myself. The management should do something about it. DO BACKGROUND CHECK PEOPLE...

The acoustics in these apartments are horrible. You can hear EVERYTHING which is a shame because the apartments themselves are not bad - nice hardwood floors. Hot water regulation is an issue. No shower is complete without the temperature of the water constantly changing from okay to too cold or too hot.

This place is a real piece. We dont ever have heat and the management doesnt care. DO NOT LIVE HERE!!. Bill is a real ------- and really doesnt care about his residents. He wants to spend our hard earned money on donuts and coffee for the seniors, and doesnt care that the heat and hot water goes out in our apartment EVERY DAY.
