Unconcerned, rude staff and overpriced as well
I couldn't imagine a worse place to live in. Not only are the walls very thin and you can hear all the neighbors living around you- which are college students, who party 6 days a week- but security is non-existent- my room was robbed while living there. Maintenance was scarce at best; my oven was broken while living there and though we put in a work order numerous times it was never fixed, and we were charged for the entire oven when we moved out, even when we produced copies of the work orders. They put in really cheap kitchen cabinets and then charge you when they inevitably break. You don't have to pay a deposit, but they use that as an excuse to charge you exorbitant amounts whenever you move out for routine things that most apartments would handle- for instance, touch up painting for small scuffs on the wall, carpet cleaning, and even the metal bowls in your stove. They decided they needed to replace our carpet in the common area and though our individual bedrooms were fine we were still charged for carpet replacement for the entire unit. After two years of making correct and punctual rent payments they were unwilling to waive one late fee when I was two days late and had notified them ahead of time. Conversely, my roommate who paid with personal checks stated she had problems with them not *cashing* her checks for almost a month at a time. Office staff often unprofessional and discourteous, verging on rude most of time when you interrupted them playing on the computer, talking on the phone, or doing their homework. Management is also unconcerned and also unwilling to work with tenants. My recommendation is to not live here but find somewhere else that you can spend less money and have better management and staff.

Nice place -- bad staff
I lived in Campus Lodge for two years. I loved it there! The set-up is really nice. However, there were a few things I did not like about living there. During one summer, our fridge completely stopped working TWICE. This caused our food to go bad. That's $$$ right there. After the second time it stopped working, they decided to replace it with a new fridge. However, they delivered the fridge when nobody was home and LEFT OUR FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED FOR HOURS! We wouldn't have known if it weren't for two friends who saw our door somewhat ajar. When we went to complain, Dawn was very apologetic and ensured us that something like this would not happen again. I just moved out a few weeks ago and went through the check-out process. Apparently, I didn't leave a USB cord or ethernet cable. However, during the check-out process, the staff member that went through the walk-through checked that I had everything I needed in the modem box - INCLUDING AN ETHERNET cable/Usb cable. I was charged $25.00 for one. Supposedly the property manager goes through every vacant room to double-check. I find that hard to believe considering someone moved into my apartment a day later. It also isn't cool that they overcharge on things like that. $25.00 for a USB/ethernet cable? SERIOUSLY? If you are expecting a quiet environment, you're looking at the wrong place. Campus Lodge is pretty noisy. That's to be expected though - it's called "CAMPUS" Lodge for a reason. But it's also a good environment. Anyway, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I will really miss that place even if the gates are always broken!

Great College Place!!!
I lived here for my senior year and LOVED IT!.. it was great having our own washer dryer... not noisy neighbors... and a great pool!... We had some party-frat guys across the hall from us, but when our door was shut, never heard anything. I felt really safe here with a bunch of cops always around and its not to far from campus... plus, its NOT right next to the train tracks! you can barely hear them! A lot of ppl get on rating sites like this and complain, but i would say this was a great place to live and would live here again if i wasnt graduating!!! don't be scared by the bad ratings... its not as bad as they complain about!

Horrible Managment
They are convenient with the bills but they will screw you over if you live there. I had a 2 bdrm and they made my apartment a 4 bdrm without asking me. They also made me pay for things prior tenants had broke. The management didnt clean my apartment when i moved in, and i had to complain 10 times before they cleaned my room. don't be fooled by their ads they are out there to get your money, after you sign a lease you are stuck.

Campus Lodge is a good home!
I moved into Campus Lodge 3 1/2 years ago and absolutely love it! I am so glad I never needed to move around all through college. It made everything so much easier. Campus Lodge is really fun in the summer b/c the pool is big and they bring you popsicles. I also love the fitness center because it's never too crowded and it's open 24/7. I am getting married and moving out of state, but if I wasn't I would definitely be staying here longer. You really get a lot for the price and all bills paid helps so much now, because when I first moved in I had to pay seperately. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

The Management is Devious
It has been a constant battle to have a working relationship with the management, because they are devious. They were not honest about rent, and are generally disagreeable. Anytime you have an issue, they will cite a "company policy" that makes it so they can't do anything. This is a poor business model, which is why I have been very dissatisfied. The apartment is mostly fine, and the furniture is alright, but I would have trouble living here again because I will always suspect they are trying to fool me into doing something that will cost me. The apartment was not particularly clean when me moved in.

Not so much.
I have lived there two years, and the second year new management took over...and that's when it went downhill. It took them three days to fix our washer when it broke, and two days to come fix a toilet that wouldn't flush. They are not very flexible, and when someone I know went to the hospital and didn't get their rent in on time...they weren't sympathetic and still made her pay a late fee. My car got broken into (as well as at least three others that I know of). Also, a lot of the people that live there are really ----...calling the cops for a noise violation at 10:30 on a Saturday night. I am definitely not impressed, and I'm finding somewhere else to live next year. They also offered cheaper rent to new tenants, and wouldn't offer the same rates to people returning.

Mistreated
I moved into Campus Lodge before it switched to new management under Paradigm Properties. At the time, the rooms seemed sizable, rent not too cheap, and the buildings appeared well-maintained. Upon moving in, we found our apartment dirty and paint drops all over the furniture. However, the management took care of the problem immediately, sending a crew to clean up the dried paint and offering to clean our rooms again or give a $50 credit on the first month of rent. The remainder of the first year of my lease went mostly fine, with the office and maintenance crew taking care of most of our problems. Noise was always an issue, as any conversations in the parking lot are audible at all hours in the bedrooms, and the activity of neighbors and roommates can be easily heard through the thin walls. If you move here, pray that you don't get placed next to (or beneath) a noisy apartment. Fast forward to this year, when we renewed our lease for $399/mo. at what was a $30/mo. reduction in rent from our first year. Well, by summer Campus Lodge was offering $329/mo. 4-bed 12-mo. leases (identical to our own) and would not let us renegotiate without inviting friends to sign up. Well, we had already brought friends to Campus Lodge, but the management had no interest in negotiating with us. As promotional offers have been passed out to current residents to renew, I have not yet seen any offers that match this rate. Maintenance has gone sharply downhill since the new management took over. It took the maintenance crew three times to fix our broken refrigerator (3 fridge-loads of food spoiled, which probably cost us about $150-$200 to replace in total). Our door does not close properly in the frame, and despite numerous calls to the front desk, this has not been fixed; we can either lock the door or have it swing open from a gust of wind--very inconvenient when you are entertaining guests! Smaller maintenance issues either take forever to fix or receive no response. Quite frankly, the management no longer seems interested in taking care of its current residents. If you choose to move into these apartments, be aware that although the rooms are spacious and the private bathroom facilities are a nice touch, you will need to be able to fix most of your issues on your own or simply live with them. Don't expect favors from the Lodge office.

It had a few good points
Living in Campus lodge wasn't too bad. It had alot of room, so you didnt always feel you were in eachothers space. Having all the bills included in rent was awesome too. The bad parts were the parking. There were never enough spaces by our building, and they only towed people if you called the tow-truck company 5 times to complain. In december when everyone was snowed in for a week our heater broke and we went 24 hours without heat. Dont sign a lease if you aren't sure you will be there long. I transferred to another school in another city and was stuck paying rent to campus lodge for 6 months that I wasn't living there. They promised to find someone to take over my lease and failed. If there is a party in your building you shouldnt try to study or sleep because it isn't going to happen. The people next to us broke beer bottles in front of our door one night and after calling the office 2 times I cleaned up the mess! Also, the dumpsters are at the back of the complex so you have to walk a mile to take out the trash. I think that they need to make alot of improvements before I would ever live there again!

New Management-Problems are gone
I've lived at Campus Lodge for 2 years now and I really enjoy it. There were some frustrations the first year I was here like the gates not working and the generic code that everyone in Norman knew, but they've been making some positive changes since they were sold to a new company in December '06. The code to the gate has been taken out so we have to use our entry cards to get in now. When the gate arms get broken they replace them the next day. I told the manager there that my carpets were getting a little dirty since I've lived there so long and she said she would clean them for me free of charge. When my lease was ending I shopped around Norman and Campus lodge isn't the only place that lowered their rates. Almost all the others did too. Any time I have a work order that needs to be done I call it in and they are out there by the end of the next day or sooner. And about the towing:THERE WAS DEFINATELY A PARKING PROBLEM UNTIL THE TOWING STARTED! I was so tired of walking forever to my apartment when my neighbors had all their friends parking really close AND THEY DON'T PAY RENT HERE! Common sense says park where you're supposed to and you won't get towed. When we got a new roommate they put a copy of the new roommate's info sheet on our door a week before she was going to move in. That gave us plenty of time to look her up on facebook and contact her. We live on the 3rd floor and our electric bills were VERY high the first year. We talked to the manager about it and they blew more insulation in the attic. Now that's customer service. And about the hot tub: my friend got gangreen from the hot tub at the Reserves Apartments from the hot tub. NO THANK YOU! And we all know what goes on in the hot tubs at apartment communities. I really don't want to be swimming in that. I would recommend this place to anyone. I plan on staying here until I graduate. I think all the people complaining had valid points up until the end of last year when the new company took over. If anyone has a problem they just need to go talk to the management there. I give it a 10 now.

big mistake
This is the worst place to live, the area the apartments are located is not in a safe part of town. The apartment furniture is in awful condition. The washing machine destroys your clothes and the management (who are unexperienced and could care less) won't fix it. The only people I know who are happy living here are the ones who work at Campus Lodge-it's rare to find anyone who has lived her over a year-people leave quickly. The place is a awful even on a college students terms.

"Call 911 if you see anything suspicious. "
After visiting family in Dallas, I came back to Norman and as I was nearing about 5 blocks away, I saw 2 Norman police cars, then 3, then 4, then I noticed all the residents within a 4 block radius were all outside as if they just saw something happen. I Pulled into the campus lodge parking lot and there were about 4 more cops speeding around, a couple running on foot. I was told to "lock my door" and call 911 if I see anything suspicious (ie the description of the suspect I was just given by the officer). While I know crime happens pretty much everywhere, I just came to the realization that all together, these apartments really arent worth living in another year. Other than the 'pros' of it being furnished, as well as some portion of utilities covered in the rent, the MANAGING STAFF is useless (not the part-time or maintenance staff). They won't honor your $100 "refer a friend", and the rooms feel more like a 10x10 cage. No living room/balcony storage whatsoever. Worst of all, if your parents come up to visit you, tell them to not enter the parking lot at all because even in the off chance a "visitor" spot is open, the paint on the cement is too faded to see, AND YOUR PARENTS WILL COME OUT TO FIND THEIR CAR TOWED. Seriously, its ridiculous. 4 Tow-trucks in the cover of night, towing people while the visitor spots are all full and there are soooo many other open spaces. I understand the principle of having a "campus lodge" decal, but it just illustrates the managing staffs' poor "discretion" when they allow towing even though we have no parking problems (other than disappearing cars). Bottom line, this place isnt TERRIBLE but there are better places to live that are way closer to school. This property talks big game, but I'd rather trade in this "lodge furniture" for someplace that has a better set-up, and isn't as oppresive when friends and family come to visit. OH and maybe a hot tub too. Cheers.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Think twice before living at Campus Lodge and make sure you talk to people you trust not affiliated with the complex before you sign a lease. Obviously someone with ties to the apartment is going to talk it up and make it sound wonderful instead of mentioning the numerous bad things. First of all, Campus Lodge is in the ------ and not even close to OU. The person who said there are 'security' gates forgot to mention they aren't even real gates, just arms that lift up that anyone can get the generic code to or follow someone in. Also, in the 8 months I have lived here one or more of the gates has been broken anyway and they stay up during the day. Other complexes actually have real gates that stay closed at all times without a generic access code. They also make a big deal about private bathrooms or the fact that the apartments are furnished. There are other apartments in the area that are furnished where you get your own bathroom as well. They neglect to mention the furniture will probably have dirt stains on it and that the bathrooms are the size of a small closet with no counter space. The internet doesn't work half the time and they claim it's HIGH SPEED yet never gets above 256K. Not to mention the constant partying and crazy people walking around at all hours of the night. <br><br>If you don't believe this, think about the fact that they are having such problems getting people to sign leases for next year that they have lowered the rent from what we are paying by almost $100.00 a month. Why would an apartment that is supposedly so amazing have to LOWER their rent that much just to get people to live there. The fact that cheap rent and the addition of ONE tanning bed is actually their main selling point should speak for itself.

Great place
I don't know what the people are talking about on here. Campus Lodge is a great place to live. Fully furnished, Nice appliances and furniture. People are saying it looks like a dump...THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! It is so much nicer than the surrounding places. Great facilities, everything is always maintained and well kept. People are complaining about it not being safe...Hell it is completely fenced in and they have electronic gates in the entry which require a card or typed key code to enter. I don't see any other place around here like that. So in my opinion it is one of the best places around. The people who think it is a dump are probably spoiled --- kids that don't know anything. I've lived here for a year now and I am completely satisfied. I would recommend it to anyone.

Just to let everyone know that reads all of these, I highly doubt the other 400 people that live here and love it will take the time to come onto this site and say its great. Thats how the world works. Several things stick out to me!<br><br>1) Every maintenance request I've had gets done very quickly<br>2) It was like moving into a hotel, minus needing sheets and towels and such<br>3) The staff is friendly<br>4) They do lower your rent if you renew...you just cant decide 10 days before move out that you want to stay<br>5) It is a nice complex...thats all I have to say

Warning! Honestly, look elsewhere!
I moved to Campus Lodge at the beginning of the school year in August. It was honestly the worst mistake of my life. I thought it would be somewhat nice since the complex was fairly new and the pictures of the apartments and everything looked fine. Do not let this deceive you! They didn't even allow us to move in until the DAY before school started because they claimed they were 'cleaning' the apartments. Not only was this extremely inconvenient, but when we moved in there was dirt and stains everywhere like someone had just moved out. It was obvious they hadn't cleaned at all. Also, there are not just students living here! There are both families with little kids wandering around and police officers. If you don't have three other people to live with the office will stick you with someone even if you hate them just so they can make more money off of your apartment. Even though the complex is fairly new they don't maintain it and it already looks like it is falling down. Also, the apartments in the area are really run down and it's in a ------ neighborhood so there are strange people walking around at all hours making it seem sort of unsafe. The internet rarely works and the shower only stays hot for like 5 minutes. Honestly, unless you're just not picky AT ALL about where you live, do NOT live here. There are few good things about it. ESPECIALLY when you consider that it is the SAME price or close to NICER apartments in Norman. Why waste money on this dump? I am counting the days until I move somewhere else in May.

nope.
i have only lived in campus lodge for about 5 months or so, and I can tell you that i will not be living here after my lease is up. my bedroom (and my roommate in the room next to me) do not get warm air to our rooms, so it is freezing in the winter. we asked the office about this, and apparently there is nothing they can do, because they built the apartments without thinking of this. also, the walls are VERY thin, and we have actually be able to BEND the walls (just leaning on them, not even pushing). we can hear EVERYTHING that goes on around us. i've heard phone conversations occuring in the room ABOVE me (without open windows). I rarely ever get a warm shower, even when there is no water being run in the apartment and there hasn't been for hours. apparently they can't do anything about that either. the parking lot light continuously goes out, and they have yet to fix it. i feel unsafe walking to my apartment alone at midnight-1am when i get off of work.<br>i do not recommend this place.

Before you sign a lease talk to people who live in the apartment other than someone who lives and works at the apartment. I think you will determine this is not the place you want to live. If there is a vacant room in your apartment they can and will move someone into the room without even giving you advance notice and in our situation the person being moved in was not even a college student. Trying to talk with office personnel is of no help.

I don't mind it
First of all the person that wrote about working in the office and then getting mad at "the person that lives by them" and then looking up information about their apartment.. that is very unprofessional. But Campus Lodge is student living. I live in apartment 12 and I have 3 other roommmates. It's a pleasure having my own bathroom, but my room is a bit small and the kitchen and living room is TOO SMALL for 4 people. It's very nice to have furniture especially if you're here for only school. A washer and dryer is very great too. The office is very nice, I work to pay my own rent and sometimes I slid late on my rent and Cindy (one of the managers) is very understanding and very very nice. Since my roommates and I are full-time students and living in norman oklahoma, we like to relax and party on the weekends. Majority of our neighbors party too, which works out very well. Cops on the other hand are either parked or walking around on the weekend nights. But it's norman and it is student apartments.. so yeah college students are going to be drinking, perfect for them to bust some kids for underage drinking. Honestly, I am not renewing my lease for my own personal reasons. But campus lodge is very good for student living, I have had plently of great memories here.

Not worth the price
The office staff is friendly and pretty helpful as long as you are not dealing with money. They will in no way try to help you out or give you a good deal once you have signed a lease (i.e. I'm talking about when trying to renew a lease). You would think that since the place is not even full to capacity they would be trying to give you some what of a deal to try and keep residents, but that is not the case. I will not be renewing my lease, I will move some place else next year.<br><br>I was forced into living here because it was the only 4 bedroom apartment in town that wasn't full (I got a late start on apartment searching due to special circumstances).<br><br>Overall the property is nice enough, which isn't saying too much considering it is brand new. It is definitely not worth the price. The rooms are tiny, the kitchen and living room are small for a four person apartment. But it is nice to have a bathroom for each room. The pool area is nice, but they do not have a hot tub, which I don't understand. They have a pretty nice basketball court, the only complaint about it, is there are never any nets on the rims.<br><br>The all-inclusive is not really a good deal, but if you just want the simplicity of not having to pay multiple bills, then it might be worth the extra money. But when it warms up and the A/C is running it is almost guaranteed that you will pay extra, because there is only a $30 allotment per person per month for the electric bill.<br><br>Be careful about visitor parking, it cost about $130 to get your car out. This seems extremely high, considering other times I've heard of people getting towed from different places it was more around $60-$70. I think Campus Lodge must get a cut for every person towed, that would explain why it is so expensive and why you can only pay in cash.<br><br>The trash situation sucks. It is about a 1/4 mile walk every time you want to bring out the trash. Most apartment complexes with only one trash bin that is so far away will provide some type of trash service. Here the only option is to throw a disgusting trash bag in your car and drive there or make the trek on foot. Unless you are lucky enough to get an apartment that is close to the trash bin.<br><br>Free High-speed internet is a joke. Yes internet is provided, but it is not high-speed, it is only 30 kbps download MAX. That is about as fast as the fastest ISDN dialup service. You can get the normal COX high speed internet for an additional fee, which can be up to 100 times faster. This was a huge disappointment for me when I moved in, because I was expecting real high-speed internet, but was stuck with extremely SLOW high-speed internet. It is alright for surfing the web, but if you download anything at all, it will bring your web surfing to a halt. They are definitely misleading you with the advertisement of free high-speed internet.<br><br>So overall the place is pretty good, if the price was between $300 and $400 a month, it would be alright, but since it is $400-$500 a month, I expect a lot more out of the complex. There are other places in Norman, which will offer the same services and service level at a much cheaper price. I would recommend looking into them.

Silly little employees
This is really amusing. I was wondering why everything was getting fixed. Good job letting us know where the visitor's parking is..it only took TWO YEARS. Oh, and it is very silly about the towing threat for a non-existant car isn't it? Would you like to see the notice? I believe we still have it. And guess what. Everything we said is true. The couch cushions were busted when we moved in, we did tell you, you did nothing. One of our showers is cracked, we did tell you, you did nothing. Our back door still doesn't lock, and the front door is still hard to close and lock. Once again, we did tell you, you did nothing. And we can hear very loud parties on the weekends, though usually not from your apartment. And while the basketball hoop in the kitchen upstairs was indended as a joke, I assure you that the noise is there. While I'm pretty sure it's not a basketball hoop, there is someone/thing continually banging on either the floors and/or counters. And I'm sooo sorry to burst this little comfort bubble you've built around yourself, none of us lived in this building two summers ago, so you really should check your sources. Or perhaps even call security, because if this apartment was indeed brand-new when we moved in, yet someone saw naked people walking into it before we moved in, then I think we have a little problem here. Then agian, problems are what this place is all about. Have a nice day!

I have had no problems w/ Campus Lodge for 2 years!
I would just like to quickly respond to the person who posted "Morons Built This Place." I have lived and worked at Campus Lodge Apartments since the first day you could move in on June 1, 2004. The funny thing is, is that with all of the problems you have listed on here they are enough problems for us to figure out which apartment you live in. Another funny thing is that I actually live below you! So we have too much sex and too many parties, and the people above you are playing basketball in their kitchen...that's funny because my roommate and I don't have sex and we have only had 2 big parties that were held in the summer for my roomies birthday (I believe you guys were there at some point) and the people living above you are 5'4" gymnasts, I'm pretty sure they aren't playing basketball, but we can give them a goal and they can start :) If you guys are the ones living above us, I would like to say that since you moved into the apartment when I did, your apartment would have been brand new and the cushions on your couch/chair should not have been ripped. If they were ripped, you should have came to the office and told us...just like all the other complaints that you seem to have...we will replace/fix it (PROMISE)! Oh about the snow getting in the windows..when does it really snow in Norman?? I think we might have had about 1/2 an inch once?!? If you want to complain about snow, go to Kansas...we had snow almost everyday last winter (that's what I love about Oklahoma, is you really don't get snow)!!!!!! Since this review made me so mad, I took the liberty to look at all of the work orders you guys gave us (we have to keep them all if you would like to see them) everything you have complained about on here, was reported and our maintenance staff did go up to your apartment and fix it. If there were problems after that, don't fix it yourself...come back into the office and report it again...I know it's a pain, but you have to do it every where you live, sorry life isn't that easy, things do break every once in a while (technology isn't that advanced yet give a few years)! About the gates always being broken, that isn't anything that Campus Lodge has any control over...maybe you should get out there and make sure drunk people don't run into it. Speaking of drunk, crazy people let's talk about the Sigma Chi's...the security guard was not partying it was a Norman officer for your information. Plus the Sigma Chi's no longer live here, with a few exceptions...so don't worry about them anymore. One question, how can you get a towing threat for a car you don't have? Now that makes no sense, you just sound dumb for writing that :) About the mail, for a while the post office would not deliver the mail to the mail boxes. That was out of our control, so putting it in the boxes was the best we could do for the residents. Funny we really had no one complain about other people stealing their mail..did someone steal your mail?? Trust me having the mail in those boxes was just as frustrating for me as you, I had to sort it out into the boxes! Get your numbers straight also, it is not $15 to have an extra window in your shower, it is $5...stop over exaggerating!! About the upcharge for a short term lease, that is going to be the case at every complex you go to, unless you go to a piece of crap community. I'm pretty sure we have a lot more than "8" guest parking spots, we have over 100 spots. We didn't have them marked until just recently, but we definately have more than 8. I want to let you know that the volleyball net was broken not stolen and it will be fixed by next summer. We really don't need it out there considering it is cold and no one swims. If this is the apartment I believe it is, I'm pretty sure you are the people that went skinny dipping in our pool one night two summers ago. I know this b/c some of the guys on the 3rd floor saw you jump in, get out and go to your apartment. Please don't do this, that way we will not have to lock the pool at night. Finally if you are the people above us, please stop walking around so damn loud...maybe you guys are the ones playing basketball. Yall are so loud when I'm trying to go to sleep and wake up for my 8:30 class. The ONLY noise you hear from our apartment, is my roommate and I banging on the ceiling trying to get you to SHUT UP!!! Thanks, renew your lease and go all inclusive!!!!!
