TLDR; Living in this building is a miserable experience. You can pay the same amount or less at any other building in Uptown and are guaranteed to have a better experience. Any five star reviews here since RPM management has taken over are only from people receiving tours, not from any actual residents who live in the building. Save yourself the misery and go look somewhere else. Elevators Down: The main elevator is constantly down, and it usually takes management 6+ weeks to get it back up and running. All the building traffic is then directed to the freight elevator, increasing wait times. Often, this freight elevator breaks down as well (or isn’t available during a power outage), and stairs are the only option. I feel for the handicapped tenants or people with strollers / pets who need to get in and out of the building. Safety: I once saw a very large man hiding behind a pillar in the hallway right outside my door. I asked if he was okay, and he sank further back behind the pillar, making it clear that he was trespassing. I ran back into my apartment terrified, and to this day, I have no idea how he got to our floor. Other reviews have mentioned that there was a homeless man living in a storage unit on the fourth floor for months. One review mentioned that a homeless man followed her up to the gym on the 10th floor. There are constantly homeless people sleeping right outside the building. I asked management what they plan to do about increasing security, and their response was they can’t trust anything they read in online reviews and “no one has been hurtâ€. I worry that their strategy is to wait for a resident to get hurt before taking any action. Cleanliness: An HVAC team was called in to fix our AC unit, which is right above our tub. I was out of town when this happened. I returned to an entirely disgusting bathroom. Some sort of black residue (mold?) sprayed out of the ceiling when they opened up the unit to work on it, and this black grime got all over our tub, shower curtain, toiletries, even my makeup brushes by the sink. Management did credit my account $200 for us to hire a cleaner, but it was a horrible way to come back home after a work trip. Pets: Aside from the inconvenience of elevators being down, the area around the building is also not very clean / safe for pets. Watch for tons of broken glass, sometimes even needles. Internet: You have to sign up for WiFi through the building itself if you live here, and it is constantly down. At least once a week for a few hours, sometimes for an entire day. For someone who works from home, it’s a very frustrating experience to constantly be working on your phone hotspot and lose connection on Zoom calls. In fact, I am writing this review after 12+ hours of no WiFi. Constant Renovation - Gym Closed & Toxic Fumes: The management wants to renovate the roof and are pouring funds into that instead of fixing broken elevators and improving the resident experience. This means the gym (same floor as the roof) is not accessible on weekdays, and they’ve stopped cleaning the gym altogether. This also means that there’s sometimes a strong smell of roofing glue in our apartment that we can’t get rid of (and who knows how toxic it is to inhale for long periods of time). Management: I once emailed management to try to meet with them on all of the above points. My email was ignored until I followed up 2-3 times. When I went to speak to the manager, I barely received eye contact. Instead of acknowledging my frustrations, she became extremely defensive and tried to dismiss everything I was saying as “not her faultâ€ and she has “too much to doâ€. Though I don’t expect her to solve everything herself, the least she could have done is listen. This is such a disappointment compared to our previous management team who would do everything in their power to make sure we had a great experience here.

BEWARE!! ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICES!
It's been 4 months since I moved out, and I'm STILL waiting on my deposit. They've told me several times that the "check was mailed" but I've received nothing. Not only is this poor customer service, but it's ILLEGAL. I will be seeking legal counsel since greystar does not abide by the Texas property code.

I love this community first and for most because of Rodney and Norah! I was moving out from Phoenix, AZ and I spent two days looking at dozens of apartments. When I came to McKinney uptown tower, my mind was blown! They made me feel so welcoming and made me feel as if I had family here! It was hard because I move alone and I don't have any friends or anyone out here. I knew right away this was the place for me! The apartment is huge and the price is great! I'm in the middle of everything and best part is that my service from this staff hasn't changed! I'm so beyond happy and amazed! BTW my views are amazing!!!

Great place to live! We were new to the Dallas area and Rodney and other staff members were always willing to help in anyway. Apartments are modern , nice and clean as well as pet friendly! Your dog is treated as well as you are here. Location is within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, and night life. We always felt safe here and never had a maintenance issue that wasn't resolved quickly and professionally. Absolutely loved living here!

I have lived here for about a year and have enjoyed every moment of it. From the property managers, both Rodney and Nora, to the maintenance staff, they have truly made living here wonderful. Highly recommend living here if you are looking for a convenient spot in Uptown without all the noise and chaos.

McKinney uptown is easily and hands down the worst building I have ever lived in. No place is perfect, but you can do much better in the immediate vicinity. The only redeeming quality is the office staff, but not remotely redeeming enough to make it a good option, and 4 months into my lease, i can't wait to leave. The noise is out of control. The units are poorly constructed. The magement is non responsive and ineffective.

The problem I have with the leasing office is the internet package. 1. First of all, the maintenance staff is great and even this two stars go to them and Nora only and the minus three stars for the negligence of my internet. 2. The location is great and close to Katy trail is awesome. The noise coming from the bars is expected as this is uptown. They do have some nice social events. Its a decent place in uptown. 3. The management does a great job in keeping the dog park clean, but either the residents don't pickup after their pets or its used by others 4. When I moved I clearly conveyed about my internet connection needs. They made me sign the lease and everything was ok. They had no spectrum at that time and I used my at&t for work mainly. Suddenly they started charging $75 per month though I have never used the spectrum internet. The way this whole way they made you sign the lease when they had no internet package and then suddenly one day they started charging is like a scam. Had they told I will be charged for the internet even if I didn't use it I would have never moved in. Rodney, the leasing manager has been trying to reach out the upper management to resolve my internet issue. The only thing is I did is I got a verbal confirmation when I moved in to not use the internet they provide. So in conclusion, NEVER TRUST. MAKE THEM WRITE IN PAPER AND SIGN IT. This is an ongoing, never ending issue. My frustrating question how did they made everyone to sign a lease when there was no Spectrum and how did they made everyone trust? Hope I will get my answers from the upper management.

Do not move here under any circumstances. This is supposed to be a luxury apartment. Be warned. I've lived here since February 2016. Over the course of the time there is a group of young thugs that regularly come and scope the parking lots for cars to break into. There are two gated parking lots that they manage to get into anyway. There are security cameras, but when you talk to the office, they don't even know how to run the security cameras, so there is literally no footage of these thieves. The first time they broke into our truck and stole around $5000.00 worth of tools. We rented a storage and changed our own operating basis because it was obvious the cops would do nothing about it. Prior to this my son and I had seen them scoping out the parking lot and then jumping over the concrete and wires to get away. They then began burgalarizing cars at the apartments next to ours where there is some parking in the alley. We watched as they did it, but could not get their license plate. They are about 4 young black men in a white coup from around the 90's or early 2000's. Same group of guys always comes here. The third incident we witnessed in the upper parking garage while we were in it. One dude was trying to break into a truck and set the alarm off. They got spooked by that and took off. Wr got some of the license plate and reported it to the office. There is a police officer who lives here and he's always walking the parking lots at night randomly and we talked to him 2 nights ago and he claimed it was on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which is a lie. Last night it was a Friday night and they stole a rented concrete saw out of the back of our truck in the lower gated parking lot. I'm convinced, now that the officer is scoping out the parking lot for these people because they are way too comfortable to come back for over a year and steal in parking lots where you have to have a fob to get in and a sticker to park stating you are a resident. Way too comfortable to boldly do this consistently. Also, some random "cleaning lady" just walked into my apartment one day like she owned the place. Very frightening considering she is probably not a legal citizen. Also, just to add icing to this whole cupcake. The maintenance people have never changed our apartment filters and they are supposed to do this every month. They have also lost mail and packages, and they even lost $4000 worth of prescriptions one time. There is literally nothing I can say that is good about this place and I urge you to not give these people your money because they don't care and are probably actively involved in people's stuff being stolen. Oh, I forgot to add that there is huge noise from the bars across the street and the fire alarms which are in every apartment and on intercom go off with no reason like every month and they screech "attention, attention, a fire emergency has just been reported." Over and over again while making 2 loud honks and this is usually in the morning. Also, my floor was flooded because a guys apartment had the sprinkler malfunction and water went everywhere. This was on a weekend, so no one was here. They do not have an onsite property manager living here. So anytime something happens and its outside of office hours, you're screwed. I urge you not to rent here. The location is superb, but everything else sucks so bad. On the weekends, young elitists get drunk and barf in the elevators, and one of those is consistently broken as well. Just don't do it.

Location is great and the staff too. However the building is very old, the pubs in front are extremely loud and since the windows and all the structures in the building are bad you hear everything. On top of the noise the electricity bill is insane because of the windows, the manager doesn't want to change them. So please (manager) don't comment that you're interested in knowing more, because I know for a fact you don't. Only come if price is really low, this is NOT a luxury complex.

I have only lived at McKinney Uptown for four months, but I am so happy with my decision. After looking online and in person at many apartments, McKinney Uptown was the best combination of roomy apartments, location and amenities for the price. I live in a one bedroom that includes a study. It is perfect for me as I am able to set up an office. And when people come to town, I have extra space to put an air mattress. The amenities are not vast but all you really need. I use the gym. I have not used the pool but it is beautiful. The staff is also amazing. They know me my face and are always so helpful.

I have seen this place grow from a frat house to an executive place to live (where it is now, mostly). There??™s still a few college shenanigans that go on (especially around the pool), but this place is a lot classier than it used to be. However, in the past 10 years, prices have also soared $400 (though I??™m in a bigger apartment, it??™s still quite a lot/month)

Great staff, apartment complex is maintained well. Awesome pool and workout room. The apartments are big, so you get a lot of space for your money. Big walk in closet and huge kitchen. We have a small den in our unit and it is perfect for an office or man cave. We also have a huge balcony which is great when we have friends over. The apartments are spaced apart well, we never really hear our neighbors and you can have dogs!

The experience in property after application and move in process has been great. Apartments are a nice size, community is friendly, and even though it is a older builiding, you do see an effort to update things including apartment floorplans.

Great experience. Moving from NYC to Dallas, I wanted a small community feel. Places like 3700M are gorgeous but do not appeal to the "old" look that I wanted. Management should consider laying hardwood throughout all units, doing so will appeal to a whole new group of smart young professionals.

Overall like living here, but there is a few issues that never seem to fully be resolved: - My windows are paper thin, and they do not seal properly. I have complained to management to reseal the windows (bugs keep getting in) and they claim there is no problem with the windows. Meanwhile on windy days I can hear the wind come through them and my drapes move. - There are multiple abandoned cars in the parking garage. I have complained and they put warning stickers on them, but they were never moved. They are covered in dust and people keep drawing lewd things on them - Fire alarms malfunction every few months. - They recently either let go or lost the grounds keeper of the property, so elevators and hallways now get filthy and are only cleaned once a week instead of multiple times a week.

It has been a pleasant experience. I would stay longer but plan to buy a house in the next year. My biggest complaint is trash left out around the property. Not good for people with pets. I lived here through the management change out and redesign of the building which turned out very nice.

I am not sure why you have a requirement of over 200 characters. The property has some good aspects but is in no way new. It is overpriced, just because of a few cosmetic upgrades. Not 100% by any means.

We've lived here for a year, and we arrived about a month before the management switch. Once the new management came, renovations began, and I think any inconveniences were handled really appropriately by the office. We were having fire alarm issues for a few days, and the office staff did everything they could to make up for it. The renovations turned out really nice and were somewhat necessary since this is an older building than most of the apartments in the area. Maintenance has always been quick to respond, and I've never had any issues that haven't been addressed. Noise from nearby apartments is never an issue (you can hear music or TVs from the hall, but not from within our apartment), but McKinney ave is a pretty loud area in general, so expect to hear cars revving their engines and noise from the bars every night. We're moving to be closer to work, but we would have happily stayed here otherwise. Compared to other nearby apartments with similar amenities, the price is really reasonable for the area.

THE WORST STAFF AND CORPORATE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT! I was relocated for my job and they made this process as painful as possible. My company was paying out my portion of the lease so that my roommates could remain in the space. I went round and round with the staff in the leasing office. Every staff member told me a different scenario of what I was able to do as far as payment options went. The first time I spoke with anyone in the office they informed me that a payout in full for my remaining portion on the lease was not allowed. Then I had another conversation with the leasing office and they informed me that I could pay in full for the remainder of my portion of the lease. Then I spoke with them again and they said that I could only pay out my portion of the lease in broken up amounts with separate checks. NONE OF THEM ARE ON THE SAME PAGE It took three full months for them to deliver a roommate addendum, to sign my name off of the lease. I had requested the roommate addendum the first time I went into the leasing office to discuss my options. Every time I spoke with a leasing agent or a manager they told me "It will be ready tomorrow morning..." it was the same response ever trip down to the leasing office. FOR THREE MONTHS. Terrible about returning phone calls or answering their phones. After turning my keys in, they issued a key to an occupant illegally without any form of legal documentation stating that keys were to be issued. The occupant lived in the apartment illegally for a full month before they delivered the roommate addendum. The entire time the apartment was being lived in, after I had paid my portion remaining on the lease, MY NAME WAS STILL ON THE LEASE, leaving it up to whom ever to damage the unit or if a payment was made late it would have went directly onto my renting history and hit MY CREDIT SCORE. Terrible management skills . I called the corporate Head Quarters to inform them about what was going on and they gave zero responses as well. Zero returned calls to voice mails. Zero returned E-mails. On top of everything They kept my deposit in full.

Great office staff. Accommodating and fair minded. As a corporate housing provider, this has been one of the easier properties to deal with. Wish them continued success as it obvious they put their residents first.
